"Still mad?" Kate held her peace offering out to Abby, her favorite Caf-pow, she could see the black roses in the Goth's fridge.
"No." Abby frowned "Just disappointed."
Kate chuckled putting her own coffee cup on Abby's table, "We're taking it slow Abby."
"It's been two years Kate, how much longer are you going to wait?" Abby asked taking the Caf-pow.
"I have no idea." Kate shrugged sitting at the table "He's not going to push me and I'm not going to push him, when it happens it happens."
"Fine." Abby muttered before asking "How's your team shaping up?"
"I have a few people I'm looking into, I may even recruit Ducky part time." Kate admitted finally taking a sip of her coffee.
"Ducky?" Abby asked joining Kate at the table.
"He's been taking classes, and I'm going to see if I can talk Special Agent Rorke from retiring, he doesn't have the degrees but he's a natural profiler." seeing Abby blanch at the man's name Kate had to ask "What's wrong with Rorke?"
"He's not the easiest to get along with and he's kinda old school, you know 'women in the kitchen', seriously he makes Gibbs look like a pussycat." Abby rasped shrugging. "I mean he leaves me alone."
"Who leaves you alone?" Tony asked from the door.
"Obviously not you." Abby chuckled. "What's up?"
"We still on for game night or are you moving your sister all weekend?" Tony asked leaning against the door frame.
"I think we can do both, as long as you don't mind an extra body at the table or two, we could invite Ziva." Kate suggested.
"She's the Director's narc." Abby frowned.
"She's one of the team." Kate gave Abby's shoulder a rub.
"I'll think about it." Abby mumbled.
"I know you can play nice." Kate smiled before kissing the pouting Goth's temple.
Jenny stood arms crossed watching as McGee and Ziva walked into the bullpen "I think she'll be a good addition." Kate smiled joining the Director.
"She's good, impulsive...but good." Jenny smiled down at the Israeli, Ziva was like her daughter, a teenage daughter that liked to push buttons. "But I think if Gibbs can teach her control, she'll be great."
"He's a good teacher." Kate smiled watching McGee place a coffee on Gibbs's desk.
"That I know." Jenny nodded. "I'm wondering why DiNozzo hasn't taken the offer of his own team, he's been offered twice."
Kate tilted her head saying "He thinks there's more to learn from Gibbs and he wants to help train the new team members like Tim and now Ziva."
"He has an odd way about it." Jenny shook her head watching him come dancing into the bullpen.
"He's a big kid at heart." Kate nodded "A good partner."
Jenny and Kate jumped hearing "What are we looking at?" Gibbs chuckled when Kate slapped his chest.
"Ass."
Shaking her head amused Jenny nodded to the duo "Excuse me, I have paper work I've been avoiding." they nodded back before returning their attention to the bullpen, Tony was handing out donuts.
"See you for coffee." Kate smiled patting Gibbs chest where she'd just smacked him a moment before "I have to do my own paperwork."
With no major cases it was another day of inputting old cases and catching up on other paper work, it gave Ziva a chance to get her desk situated the way she wanted it, Kate had bought her a small plant, McGee a small Israeli flag that fit in her smilely face pencil holder that Tony had given her.
"So new girl at the coffee shop?" McGee asked taking the donut from Tony.
"She likes mature men." Tony shrugged.
"Then what's she doing with you?" Ziva asked eyeing the donut.
"Ha ha." Tony tossed one on Gibbs' desk with a napkin. "It's a bear claw, they go great with coffee." Tony assured her.
"I do not drink coffee, I drink tea." Ziva shook her head.
"You still might like it." Tony shrugged sitting at his desk.
"It's not bad." McGee promised.
It was only a few minutes until they settled into the paper work of the day after scanning the headlines and answering the phones waiting for a case to jump out. They preferred the days when nothing happened even if it meant a boring day inputting old cases.
