Kate watched Gibbs measure her bookshelf that he'd moved into his formal living room, they gotten up for work and had just finished breakfast when Gibbs suddenly turned and walked into the nearly empty room.

"So I'm guessin' he's into books like you and Rachel?" Gibbs had remembered on the way to the front door that he'd moved a bookshelf from Kate's place to his and it would be quicker to just get the measurements from it than travel to Kate's old place and measure the spot it came from.

"He has quite a few different book series." Kate nodded when Gibbs tapped one of her series that had 15 books to it. "Almost all the same as mine and Rachel's, Rachel used to read them to him and then he read them to me." Danny was the youngest of the three boys and Kate was the baby of them all.

"Does he play chess too?"

"He does, but he can take it or leave it, he's more into the physical sports football, boxing." Kate crossed her arms Gibbs was looking at the nearly empty room, she had no idea what he was thinking.

"Is that where you learned to throw a punch?" Gibbs chuckled writing down the measurements before shoving the small notebook into his inside suit jacket pocket and the tape measurer back in the drawer he'd taken it from.

"They wanted me to be able to handle myself." Kate gave a shrug, she'd learned boxing from one brother karate from another though she never took the classes until college, it helped with her Secret Service training, made it easier to pick up on everything her trainer taught her.

"Want to go pick up material with me after work?" he asked giving her hand a little tug so she'd follow him.

"Why not." Kate shrugged.

"We can grab dinner on the way home too." Gibbs said grabbing their go bags, initially Kate hadn't taken hers when she was setting up her office, she'd given it a few days but she felt weird without it and decided she needed it in case she had to go in the field to see a crime scene to get the feel for the profile, it was best after all to get and know all the facts for the profiles.

Jenny watched as they parted at the elevator with a quick kiss, Kate and her gear to her office and Gibbs to his desk.

Kate's team would be starting their courses when the new semester started, Jenny had pulled some strings and made sure they could get people into the courses that were necessary for the degrees and skills they needed, right now she had a group of skilled natural profilers mixed with college educated profilers, Kate was both. And despite having no active cases Jenny was having Kate and her team go through and build profiles for cold cases that didn't have any then depending on the case Jenny would hand them out and have new teams work on them with the new information.

Gibbs headed right back to the elevator, Jenny knew to go get his coffee, Kate was in her office before coming out with a cup in her hand, joining Jenny on the mezzanine she couldn't help but ask "Surveying the kingdome?"

"My people seem happy but should I worry? Are there things I don't know?" Jenny replied.

"There will always be things you don't know." Kate said simply before asking "And don't parents always worry?"

Jenny chuckled "Like you worry about how your old team will handle Ziva joining them?"

Kate sipped her coffee before responding with "Gibbs will keep them in line and Ziva can handle herself." but Jenny was correct.

"You still worry." Jenny pointed out.

"Always." Kate sighed before smiling and waving down to McGee who smiled and waved back.

She had a new team but that didn't mean she would abandon her friends from her original team, Tony had immediately jumped up and ran for lunch but Kate knew he would, there was a new waitress that had caught his eye. "Lunch?" she asked the others, Gibbs was having lunch with Ducky.

"Sounds good." McGee said shutting down his computer "Café?"

"Of course." Kate nodded, they had healthy options and she always tried to eat healthy when she could, McGee had started to do the same. "Come on Ziva." Kate looked to the younger woman.

"Abby..."

"Has never taken to new people quickly." Kate shook her head.

"Just you." McGee reminded, he'd heard from Tony how quickly Abby had taken to Kate compared to others.

"I'm the exception." Kate admitted, Abby hadn't been trusting of Gibbs or Ducky at first because they were older and she wasn't sure if they were being genuinely nice or just messing with her. Kate was definitely different, so Ziva taking her place on Team Gibbs after everything that had happened made Abby leery of the Israeli.

"I'm ready." Abby clumped over to the bull pen from the elevator.

"Great we're going to the café." Kate said waiting for Ziva to stand, she watched Abby's eyes, she could tell the Goth was softening towards the other girl.

"They do have my Caf-Pow." Abby nodded. "What about Gibbs?"

"Lunching with Ducky." McGee answered.

"I do not understand" Ziva glanced at Tony sitting at his solitary table in the same café. "why he acts this way, when he could be dating women of substance and not...what did you call them..." Ziva glanced at McGee "bimbos?"

"Tim!" Abby gasped at him.

"He's not wrong Abby." Kate shook her head reminding Abby "He's not dating women with degrees, he's dating early 20 somethings with daddy issues that just happen to go to college." Taking a sip of her soda Kate explained to Ziva "I know he acts like a big kid but he's a hell of an agent."

"I know I read his file." Ziva admitted. "That is why I am confused as to why he acts like this."

"They have a file on him?" Abby asked, hearing the other woman's tone Ziva understood Abby didn't like it.

"I had files on each of you, it was my job, to get to know Team Gibbs." Ziva said simply

"And what did you do with your files." Abby eyed her.

"I destroyed them." Ziva replied to Abby's surprise.
