Danny was finishing the French toast when the others began trickling in, Kate, Rachel, Gibbs and Ducky were the first to arrive with Ziva close behind "I woke up early so." he gestured to plates partially hidden by the stack of French toast. Waffles, bacon and sausage sat on two other plates "I thought I'd give more options, a thank you for all the help and welcoming me into your group."
"Ziva this is our brother Danny."
"Nice to meet you." she smiled.
"Nice to meet you too, thank you for helping me move in." he gestured her to the table. "I have turkey bacon and a chicken apple sausage."
"Thank you." Ziva nodded taking a seat next to Rachel.
"Abby and the boys are almost here, so we're going to start without them." Kate said looking up from her phone. "I told them to come in."
"Okay." taking off his apron Danny sat in between his sisters. "So what is it you do at NCIS?" he asked Ziva.
"I am the Mossad liason, I work with Special Agent Gibbs." Ziva never gave too much information. "What is it that you do?"
"I was a lawyer back home, but I'm thinking of changing careers." he said dishing himself French toast.
"Not a mid life crisis?" Ziva shook her head "You have it too much together for that, a change of heart then."
"I wasn't comfortable defending the people I was." Danny told her.
"So defend who you want here." Ziva shrugged taking French toast "You would be your own boss."
"That was my other thought." he admitted.
Hearing a knock on the front door they all looked in the direction, they heard it open and close with a gruff "Hey guys"
"Kitchen Abs." Kate called out, 'Abs' turned out to be all three of them. "Danny that's Abby, Tony and Tim." Kate pointed to each one as she said their name.
Danny couldn't help but smile at the trio who looked exactly like Kate had described them, "Hi, thank you for helping me move in."
"Thank you for hosting game night." Tim smiled back.
"Best way to get to know everyone." Danny gestured to the empty spots at the table.
"Jimmy's busy tonight but he'll be at the next one." Abby promised.
"He's Ducky's assistant." Kate explained.
Discussions at breakfast turned to Thanksgiving and Secret Santa that Abby was in charge of I'll bring paper tonight, you write your name and five items that'd you'd like. $25 limit." Gibbs smirked. "These are just suggestions, you can also write what you're into, like I'm a Goth, I can always use a new spiked collar, gloves or umbrella even if I don't write them down. Coffee is a safe bet for Gibbs." Abby gestured to the silver haired man. "I'll collect the papers at Thanksgiving and we will draw names before dinner, no cheating and no exchanging."
"What if we pick Katie?" Rachel asked.
"You can keep or exchange her name." Abby said as they started to clean up breakfast.
"Once you're settled we have to go out, I'll show you the best spots to pick up women." Tony offered.
"That's not really my thing." Danny shook his head.
"Oh, okay." Tony nodded. "We still have to go out though, Kate won't now that she has Gibbs and Rachel said no."
"I..."
"Between the three of us I'm sure we can find a place you'd like to go." Tony said picking up his dirty dishes.
"Maybe after the holidays." Danny offered.
"I'm holding you to it." Tony followed him into the kitchen.
The truck was unloaded and boxes partially unpacked when Gibbs's phone rang, the entire team all looked in his direction when he answered "Gibbs." listening quietly he nodded to the team who began gathering their things to go. Kate understood, hanging up his phone Gibbs took Kate's hand in his "Not sure what time I'll be home."
"Go catch your bad guy." Kate pushed up on her toes kissing his cheek. The team all said their goodbyes before following Gibbs out the door, Kate giving both Abby and Tim a kiss on the cheek before giving Ziva's bicep a squeeze and Tony a hug.
"I got him Kate, I promise." Tony whispered kissing her cheek.
"Thank you." giving his hand a squeeze she closed the door behind them, exhaling she turned to face her siblings "We'll let's finish up here and then we can play some games."
"Are you okay Katie?" Danny asked.
"Curse of switching jobs, I can't be there to watch over them." Kate admitted.
"Let's keep you too busy to think about it then." Rachel tugged her over to the wooden footlocker he hadn't opened yet, all the Todd children were given one when they graduated high school, it held baby photos, their baby blankets, clothes and albums plus all of their achievements through school.
"It would be great if I had a bookshelf." Danny smirked.
"Shut up." Kate laughed giving him a shove.
Kate stayed with Danny and Rachel playing board games and discussing Thanksgiving plans and side dishes they were planning on making. "Apple and pumpkin pie, Gibbs has rolls."
"Anyone have stuffing?" Rachel asked, cooking was not her strong suit despite always being dragged into the kitchen by their mom.
"I can do candied yams."
"Sounds good, I'll text Ducky." Kate said picking up the dice.
"I swear if you lose this game I will make fun of you." Rachel teased, they were playing one of the many versions of Clue.
"Shut up." Kate laughed.
Kate was home before Gibbs but they knew that was going to happen, she wasn't waiting up because she knew he would be going to the basement to decompress. She didn't wake up until he was climbing under the covers with her "Early morning?" she asked covering his hands with her own.
"Mmm." he draped his arm over her waist. "Did you have fun?"
"Yes." she nodded "I'll get up with you and make breakfast." Kate said snuggling back against him.
"Don't have to." he mumbled into her hair.
"Want to." she turned her head when he kissed her hair, kissing her cheek he said.
"Go to bed."
"Make me." she mumbled getting a chuckle from him.
