Carmel had lost by 7, the Titans had kept their lead with Azimo's help, he'd cost Carmel multiple penalties. "I am proud of you boys," Beiste smiled at her team "you kept your tempers. Pizza Saturday after practice." the team cheered. "Alright go change, go celebrate."
"You should come to Breadstix, we're going there to celebrate, well really we were going to go no matter what, but point is we're celebrating the win at Breadstix." Rachel rambled.
"I have to check with my parents." Unique said once Rachel stopped talking.
"I...my mom's waiting at home for me." Marley shook her head.
"Oh, okay." Rachel said picking up her cushion.
"If they agree we can take you with Rachel." Hiram said folding his blanket over his arm.
"I'll give them a call right now." Unique pulled out her phone poking at the numbers.
"You can use my phone to call your mom." Rachel offered Marley as Unique spoke to her parents.
"Is Marley going?" Unique looked at her friend "I'll have to call you back she hasn't talked to her mom yet." hanging up she looked at Marley who sighed taking Rachel phone's, Marley already knew her mom would say yes, she liked that her daughter had friends.
"Hi Mom," Marley paused listening to her mom's greeting "The football team won, the Glee kids want to go to Breadstix..."
"May I?" Unique took the phone away "Hi Mrs. Rose it's Unique Adams, my parents are willing to let me go if Marley goes. So may I take her, I know it's short notice so it would be my treat." Unique grinned "Thank you, here she is." handing the phone back to Marley she said "She said yes." poking her own phone she called her parents back while Marley talked to her mom.
"Are you sure? Okay, love you, bye." handing the phone back to Rachel she said "I'm able to go."
"We'll see you there Blaine." Rachel beamed.
"We are ready when you are." Unique grinned tucking her phone away.
They were almost sitting like they did at lunch, Beth was in between Puck and Quinn, while the twins were in between Finn and Santana. "Girlfriend's here and she brought the newbies." Puck nodded to the door, Finn's hand shot up to get Rachel's attention.
Matt and Sam stood up moving over to give the girls two seats next to one another, they all knew Rachel would take the single seat next to Finn, just like Brittany had taken the end of the table to be next to Santana.
"Did you enjoy the game?" Sam asked pulling out the chair for Unique.
"I had no idea what was going on but I know we won." she answered honestly before sitting down "Thank you. And that one boy kept getting in trouble."
Sam chuckled, most girls didn't follow football, Matt explained pushing Marley's chair in "Azimo, he used to go here, he transferred and thought he'd be able to tell them our plays but we have all new plays."
"Thank you." Marley murmured as he sat down, he nodded giving her a small smile. "Rachel tried to teach us about football."
"I was distracted." Unique winked at Sam who chuckled. "I know you're the quarterback and he's a lineman." she pointed at Shane.
"That's all you need to know, I throw, they catch" he pointed to the boys that had been catching all game, "they tackle, he kicks." he pointed at Kurt "and Artie helps us train." Artie lifted his cup giving a nod.
"Sounds simple enough, I guess Rachel wants to know more details." Marely said sipping the water in front of her.
"Puck said she's trying to learn stuff for Finn." Sam said picking up his menu.
"You did great." Puck gave Tina a hug.
"You too." Tina gave him a squeeze before sitting down.
"And you wonder why people think he's sleeping with you." Santana rolled her eyes.
"I'm allowed to be nice." Puck scoffed sitting down.
"We're allowed to be friends." Tina rolled her eyes.
Mercedes chuckled "Not funny when it happens to you is it?" they'd said the same of her and Matt when they'd been seen together.
"Shush." Tina pushed Mercedes's shoulder.
The boys happily rehashed the game for the girls and Blaine as it had happened from their point of view, Puck delighted in telling them about Azimo. "Once he saw that Finn wasn't quarterback he was pissed." Puck chuckled "It was easy to push his buttons after that, and Kurt making the first field goal. Epic."
"What is a false start?"
"Azimo was jumping forward before the guy that tosses the ball back to Sam got the ball off the ground."
"It cost them a lot." Finn nodded.
"5 yards every time." Rachel piped up, nodding Finn gave an amused half grin.
"Are you guys ready to order?" the waitress asked nervously eyeing Santana who smirked, they'd brought waters and of course breadsticks for everyone when they first sat down.
"Have you two had a chance to see what you want?" Santana asked.
"I.. don't know what's good here." Marley said looking up from the menu, it wasn't cheap, Matt leaned pointing at a few items on the menu.
Quinn spoke up "We do Fettuccine Alfredo, Ravioli, Stuffed Shells..."
"We do lasagna." Matt nodded towards Mike.
"Can I have the shrimp?" Brittany asked "I know this isn't a date..."
"You can have whatever you want sweetie." Santana promised.
"If you would like to go on a date I volunteer to babysit." Unique held up her hand.
Santana chuckled "Daddy gets dibs, so unless he wants a date on the same day, it's going to be a bit before they have an actual babysitter."
Finn shrugged when Unique looked his way "I think the only time we'd be going out at the same time would be Glee things and dances."
"And you'll be at those too." Santana reminded, Glee tended to go to the dances as a group.
"What about when you start cheering again?" Unique grinned "You'll need someone then and Marley and I are more than happy to be the ones watching them." it made sense since most of the others would be on the field or track, the only other two were Blaine and Rachel.
Santana chuckled "You don't give up do you?"
"No." Unique chuckled back.
"I don't have a problem with it." Santana shrugged.
"Me either." Finn gave a similar shrug.
"Santi or my mom will have Beth," Quinn offered "so you won't be alone on the sidelines." Unique gave a little squeal causing Marley to chuckle.
Quinn gestured the waitress Sandy to her ordering the usual appetizers, that were not exactly Italian foods "2 orders of mozzarella sticks, 2 orders of onion rings, 2 orders of fried mushrooms and 2 orders of garlic knots."
"I'll put those in and come back for your dinner orders." the waitress scurried away.
When the waitress returned with the appetizers, the table watched as she placed the large tray of food on a small fold out tray holder brought by another waitress. Both waitresses quickly put the food on the tables, one set on each side with small plates for everyone to share all the food. Waiting until the other waitress gathered the tray and folding table Sandy went back to Quinn, pad in hand she waited.
Looking up from the menu in Mike's hands Quinn ordered "Ravioli."
"Lasagna." Mike smiled closing his menu.
"Ravioli." Finn handed the waitress his menu.
"The never ending salad." Rachel smiled "No meat, animal or dairy products please."
Eyebrow arched Santana smirked but said nothing other than "Fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp cocktail." having dealt with them before Sandy nodded writing it down, she knew the Latina had ordered for herself and the blonde next to her. Once finished with her order Santana began putting appetizers onto a small plate for her and Brittany to share, Finn took it as his cue to make himself a plate. As they had all been to the restaurant before the others quickly ordered and attacked the appetizers as well.
Shane paused checking the menu again "Manicotti and Ricotta Gnocchi."
"Eggplant parmigiana." Sam looked back at the menu again, he tried to stick with chicken and rice but they didn't have a chicken and rice meal, so he thought he would try something new.
"Ricotta Gnocchi sounds good." Unique agreed.
"Angel hair pasta." Marley said quietly.
"Lasagna." Matt handed his menu to Sandy.
"Extra work out." Sam said putting a few of the appetizers on his own small plate.
"For you maybe." Matt chuckled, he wasn't as into knowing his body mass index or any of that as Sam was. "These are good." Matt told both girls as he put the garlic knots and fried mushrooms on his plate, he knew they hadn't been to Breadstix before.
Putting one of each on her plate Marley explained to Matt "I don't have a big appetite, if I eat too many I won't be able to eat my dinner."
"Okay." Matt said quietly, she didn't know that like Santana he knew the signs of eating disorders or that he'd been keeping an eye on her.
