Please don't kill me for giving Shaggy a makeover. It's just that the other gang members all got upgraded wardrobes in the first few direct-to-video movies, so I wanted to do the same with Shaggy.
Also, the next chapter will be about Ruby's time at the community center while her sister and her friend are giving Shaggy his makeover. Again, please don't savage me for giving him a makeover!
Crystal couldn't reveal her new look to Shaggy since he got home late from his shift at work due to the rude woman. However, it was the weekend, so he marveled at it when waking up from a dead sleep and after walking the dogs."You look unbelievable, Crystal! I love your new style!" he exclaimed happily, to which Crystal blushed brightly.
"Thanks, Shaggy. I received an abundance of help from my best friend at university." Crystal was attending a college that concentrated both on arts and music. She'd gone through enough higher education back on her home planet for her government career.
However, if she were to have a different occupation while staying on Earth, she wanted to explore more regarding photography and other art programs. Since joining the school, she'd acquired her first female human friend. Her name was Genovieve Aken. However, everyone referred to her as Eve. Eve was majorly proficient in music. Moreover, she possessed an excellent eye for fashion. Furthermore, how to give people the perfect makeover.
"I don't believe I've met your friend Eve yet," Shaggy informed his girlfriend while making a vegan breakfast.
"Oh, she's super nice! Not a mean bone in her body. She also likes to wear her shoulder-length turquoise hair loose but with two pigtails. She continuously rocks whatever style she shows up in as well."
"You really seem to like her," as Shaggy started using an egg substitute for breakfast. "How did you two meet?"
"She helped me on my first day of human university. She could tell I wasn't familiar with anything. She told me it took her a while to get used to the big city. Her family originally came from further south in the state. But they moved up here because her parents got better-paying jobs when she was still in high school. She still lives with them and has a twelve-year-old sister named Gemma, who likes to be called Gem."
"So I guess you two really hit it off then," Shaggy smiled happily.
"Yes, she reminds me of my former best friend, Topaz. But we parted ways after her older brother and I broke up."
"You told me you used to have a boyfriend. Is there a reason you broke up with him? Or did he break up with you?" Shaggy asked concerningly.
Crystal shook her head before replying, "No, I'm the one who broke up with him. He didn't take it exceptionally well. I won't go into details concerning what caused it, though. At least not right now."
"Fair enough. So tell me more about Eve?" Shaggy asked with genuine interest. The disguised alien smiled happily as she talked about her new best friend.
"Again, she helped me figure out a new wardrobe and hairstyle. We're having a Skype conversation while I was doing it, so she could help me do it right," Crystal bit her lip before adding.
"I was hoping you would be open-minded to change things up yourself, Shaggy. You know, get with the times. I mean, even your friends modernized their wardrobes. I'm not asking you to give up who you are on the inside. You might want to wear something a bit more contemporary. I know you've been ridiculed because you still dress like its the 1960s."
"You don't like my outfit? Or you don't like me?" he asked his girlfriend confused.
She held her hands up in a peaceful gesture. "No! I really do like you for you, Shaggy. I was chitchatting with Eve, and we both agreed it might be time to switch things up.
Who knows? You might like having a makeover. It is like starting fresh and new. Consider it, please? I'm not going to force you to get one. All I'm asking is for you to consider it."
"I'll think about it, Crystal, I promise," the hippy boy replied as he finished their vegan breakfast. They called in Ruby, who looked a bit mad at first. When they asked her why she was mad, she said it was because she was in the middle of a Skype call with her new friends.
Ruby said her new friend Chrissy wanted her to come to the community center her mother managed later today to have fun with the neighborhood kids. Plus, she had wanted to introduce Ruby to her mother and older sister, who'd be there too.
Crystal promised to take her to the community center at one to hang out with her new friends. Satisfied, Ruby ate her breakfast without objection. True to her word, Crystal took Ruby to hang with her companions at the Freeman Community Center, which was four blocks east of their loft.
"Now, remember you can stay till 4:30, but then I'll pick you up. Understand?" her older sister reminded her sternly.
"Yes, I understand, Crystal. But I'll be fine! See?" she rolled up her sleeve to expose her protection bracelet.
"Okay, just be careful. And call me if you need me."
"Yes, Crystal. I understand!" Ruby practically yelled.
"Okay! Sorry, I'm just anxious! I'll see you in a few hours," with one last hug, the sisters parted ways. When Crystal got home, Shaggy stated he would submit to a makeover.
Since she did have a point that all his best friends had updated their looks, it was past time he did his own. Crystal smiled and got Eve on a video call to help her improve Shaggy's look. Thankfully, Eve had already given Crystal a few different outfits for Shaggy to try on. Since they'd been discussing this for a fortnight. So, when it came to pick up Ruby, Shaggy no longer looked like the hippy he used to be.
They'd given him a haircut, so his hair was more in line with the current decade. They kept the green and red color scheme. But now it was a red and green leather jacket. His long shirt was now a red T-shirt with red denim jeans with brilliant green splotches all over them. He wore fashionable green sneakers, wristbands, and a ring. However, his left ear had a single small red hoop in it. Crystal and her friend Eve were genuinely impressed with the makeover.
Shaggy acknowledged it was way different from his standard look. But again, maybe it was time to change things up. They had a few more different outfits and accessories for him. But for now, they see how this one went over. Ruby's jaw hit the floor when she saw Shaggy's new look. She didn't recognize him at all! But she did admit she did like it. Over dinner, she planned to tell them how her time at the community center had gone!
