Hakuno slammed her hand against her alarm clock. Today was the day for her entrance exams, her first 'choice' of Kosei was vetoed as her parents didn't want her to have to move into the dorms when they left.
That is another thing Hakuno noted, she would be moving out to live with her cousin that she hasn't even had a chance to meet yet due to their busy lives. Though they have been texting for a few days.
Both their parents are going to be gone for the school year, her parents are going to Okinawa for work and Ann's are going to travel the world, as they are fashion designers. Sense Wakaba Isshiki passed away her parent's company was dissolved and bought out by numerous companies. They were lucky when they got a similar position with higher pay… Though she will miss them.
Hakuno sighed, 'At least I don't have to worry about any more strange things happening… first a random tower at night and then TV's showing strange scenes at night and trying to suck her in? I thought that the world didn't have any magic left.'
Hakuno shook her head, she has to get ready for her exams. Though… with her memory still as accurate as it was when she was an AI she doesn't think she would have too much trouble with them.
Hakuno relaxed after the test, she was still able to coast a bit from her memories in the Moon Cell… Other than history she has to study harder for it, the history that the Moon Cell gave her was mostly right except for some key differences in the last few years. Mostly a strange group called Kirijo Group that seemed to have a ton of money.
Hakuno shrugged her shoulders as she began packing a few blankets and her earth model. Having only a handful of personal objects helped in that regard. A few listening devices from Futaba, a computer hand made… by Futaba.
Holding a Featherman Argus figure Hakuno paused, the pink on the figure was slightly fading… Hakuno made a note to see if she can't have it restored, it was one of the first things Futaba gave her.
She does miss Futaba,she hasn't heard anything from her and all messages she has sent haven't been answered.
It … hurts. She misses Futaba, she misses her Servants; Saber, Archer, Caster, Gilga-, her brain burned attempting to remember.
Hakuno pushed it out of her mind, ignoring the stabbing pains in her head and chest.
Her Soul has been pushing some memories to the front, all of them causing her Mind to ache, perhaps she should look into getting a doctor to help with the migraines that it causes?
Her doctor recently retired, and with her parents leaving the city she should probably do some research and find a new one.
"Hakuno~" Her mom sang, "Are you getting ready?"
"Yes mom." She is going to miss her room…
"Hello Hakuno!" A beautiful blond pigtailed girl said as she hugged her, "Come in come in," Hakuno was taken back from the sheer energy the girl had. Something was off about her though… Hakuno couldn't figure out what.
Ann was definitely a model, Hakuno noted, long platinum hair, an objectively beautiful face and being taller than the average Japanese woman… definitely taller and bigger than Hakuno.
Hakuno looked around the apartment as it was large, a two bedroom fully furnished and a kitchen that appears to be less then used, "My parents are barely home, so I guess it will just be us two?" Hakuno nodded.
Ann showed her to her room, "I heard you got full marks on your entrance exam, perhaps you can help me study." Ann giggled, "Only thing I do well in is English."
Hakuno thought about it, "I can try."
"Hakuno!" Hakuno's dad said as he climbed up the stairs, "This is the last box, anything else you girls need?"
Hakuno shook her head, "Thank you Dad."
Ritsuka Kishinami gave his daughter one last hug, "We will try and call as often as we can, Ann here will take care of ya," In a serious look towards Ann, "Don't let any boys get too close to her."
Ann laughed slightly at that, "I'll try" Ritsuka gave her daughter one last hug before he left, their job starting the next day.
And with that Hakuno was left unpacking with Ann attempting to help. "So.. I see you have a telescope, do you like space?" Hakuno nodded slightly, she kept watching the Moon… Just in case.
Hakuno heard a phone going off as Ann reached for her phone, "Sorry give me a moment."
Hakuno focused on unpacking the small amount of personal items she had she put on display on a small bookshelf.
Her room was beige with a small bed with a bookshelf and desk. A small chest was at the end of her bed with her telescope on top pointing out the window, a few posters of old Japanese Art… including one that was a recreation of Tamamo-no-Mae, at least a version of her.
"No… My cousin is here. Can't be on the phone." Hakuno heard muffled speaking through her door, the walls didn't appear too thick… perhaps she will have to buy some earplugs. They are closer to Shibuya and the sounds at night might keep her awake.
Hakuno yawned, as Ann entered the room, "Sorry bout that, just someone from school…"
"We should exchange Chat Ids before I forget," Hakuno held out her cell phone as they exchanged IDs, "Just in case either of us will be late coming home or something."
"Are you hungry?" Hakuno nodded, it had been a long day and she hadn't eaten in a few hours.
"Both our parents transferred some money for takeout, looks like enough to last us a few months." Hakuno remembered the build up of dust in the kitchen when they passed by.
"Can you cook?" Ann had a strained smile at the question, which led to Hakuno sighing.
"Takeout tonight, worry about cooking another time." Ann replied, which Hakuno accepted, deciding to make a shopping list in the morning.
She wasn't a good cook, but she can make a few basic meals. And a diet of only fast food can't be healthy for either of them.
"So… You wanna watch a movie?"
Ann didn't know what to make of her cousin. Compared to her Aunt and Uncle, Hakuno was quiet and very introverted… Reminding her a bit of Shiho except Hakuno had this look in her eye like she could see through her.
Perhaps she could. Ann wasn't too good at acting. Modeling she was great at, acting on the other hand? Not a chance.
Maybe she should bring Shiho around once she is off of practice… Those two might be able to kick it off…
Hakuno also seemed adamant that they eat more than her favorites. Sweets oh how she missed them, Hakuno always managed to sniff out her stashes of sweets and hid them from her to 'ensure she ate healthier food more regularly'.
She knows Hakunos parents weren't strict on sweets so why is she being subjected to it?
Ann sighed, at least with Hakuno here she can push Kamoshida off easier… until he brings up Shiho that is. She hides it from Hakuno, the freshman girl not even on Kamoshida's radar due to how plain she normally is. But Ann knows that if she were to show any signs Hakuno would be on her.
The girl is really observant, she just hopes Kamoshida never decides to target her. She couldn't live with herself if either Hakuno or Shiho starts to get persuaded by that Bastard.
An uncomfortable warmth flickers in her chest as she thinks, causing Hakuno to focus on her. Almost able to see her feelings, "You ok?"
Ann replies, "Yep never better!" keeping on her fake smile. At least she is able to pretend that.
Hakuno feels something off with Ann. She can't put her finger on it, but randomly she can feel something from her. Something different? Like a flame about to ignite or something she is unsure of.
Maybe she has magic circuits? Hakuno debates before shelving that idea, she hasn't seen any evidence of Magecraft or CodeCasts, and the only bit of information she had of the days where magecraft was was the Clock Tower… which in this world is just a Museum. The only evidence she has is that Extra Hour from years ago and the TV's being portals of sorts. Which also stopped…
Maybe Hakuno should have Ann touch a TV…
Hakuno let out a small chuckle, 'At the least… Ann is my friend and my family. I don't have to worry about it. Besides, she is terrible at hiding things.'
Hakuno drummed her fingers along her desk as she listened to Ushimaru-Sensei going over the basics of what they plan to cover in his class. He froze and began to look irritated at a student before chucking a piece of chalk at him.
The Class stayed silent as he retrieved another piece and began writing again.
'How I wish I had my Portable Terminal… Its auto recording function made things easy. A Cell Phone doesn't do anything close… And Teachers hate seeing them. That and my knowledge from the Moon Cell cuts off next year it seems.'
Hakuno observed her classmates as a few of them attempted to pass notes, she knew she shouldn't comment on it. Her classmates for the most part avoid her already, Hakuno willingly stayed away plus apparently they are wary of getting involved with Ann? She isn't too sure why.
Ann was getting more and more reserved as the first week of school went on. Her friend Shiho also came over less and less.
Hakuno thought she saw bruises on her. Hakuno frowned slightly at the thought, she knew she should do something about it… Maybe she should talk with Ann after school today about it?
Class ended shortly after, Hakuno stretched as she began packing.
"Did you hear about a new transfer student?"
"Yeah some kind of sick monster, heard he is already going after Takamaki," Hakuno perked up at hearing her cousin's name.
"Wasn't she with Kamoshida? I heard she has like a sister or something in our class."
"No way dude, she is cheating on Kamoshida?"
Hakuno felt her face flush, trying to think of the best way to defend her family gave her a moment of hesitation as the two students left the room.
Hakuno huffed, 'Her cousin is not with a teacher… At least she doesn't think so. Maybe I should ask?'
They werent to close but if Ann needed help Hakuno would help her family. She glanced down on her birthmark, her command seals… if worse came to it she might be able to defend them… She hasn't even attempted to do anything with the generated Od from all those years ago.
She feels like she could still cast Hack (16) but she doubts it would do anything to a real person. Maybe set some electronics off but humans of flesh and blood would be immune to the codecast.
Hakuno sighed, she should go looking for her cousin. Maybe she is just letting random rumors get to her.
Hakuno saw two boys head up the stairs… Only thing up there is the roof, Hakuno sighed as she checked the time, her curiosity conflicting with her wish to check up on her cousin. She should get going, her cousin should be out now.
Ann hated coming to school now. Hiding the calls and texts from the Bastard proved hard from her nosey cousin.
Ann sighed, her cousin did mean well but she seemed almost over protective? They haven't really gotten to know each other well either… She has been putting off dates to spend time with him. Which sucks.
The only time they spent together was when she was being tutored. Somehow the young brunette knew everything her classes were going over. Maybe she is addicted to studying?
At least she can use walking her cousin back and forth from school to avoid Kamoshida from getting too close. Though… She can see a bit of the irritation he seems to have towards it.
As long as he stays away from them. She can handle it…
"Are you interested in joining the student council? We recently had an opening and with your stellar academics we believe you would be a valuable member." Dull Red eyes met Brown as the two met.
"I'm not too sure… Can I think about it?" Hakuno replied to her Senpai.
Makoto nodded, "Yes of course, I understand you recently moved and it is afterall it is still the first week. I am not sure how long the vacancy will be but I will let you know if it gets filled."
Hakuno nodded as that seemed to satisfy her as the Student Council President left… Hakuno had a weird feeling about the student council. A girl with black pigtails appeared in her vision for a split second. Hakuno gripped her head as the memory faded.
"Was that Niijima-Senpai?" Ann asked, keeping a careful eye on the retreating form.
"She was just asking if I would join the student council, I plan to give it some thought." Hakuno replied as the two began to walk back to their station.
"Hey Takamaki!" Kamoshida appeared, a Seven foot tall monster of a man with a broad jaw, Hakuno hated the man. She wasn't too sure why but he gave off feelings of pure disgust. Adding that to the rumors she has been hearing…
"H-Hey Kamoshida." Ann gave a strained smile and wave, "I'm just taking my little cousin home."
"Ah come on Takamaki, you know I can give you a ride home. There is a loose criminal about now,"
'Criminal?'
Seeing the confused look on Hakuno's face Kamoshida continued, "Yes, some Criminal" He said with disdain, "that joined Takamaki's class, I think it would be safest for her to be driven back and forth from school. He seems to be going after her."
He got this strange look on his face "I'm sure Kishinami here can find her way back, I doubt the Criminal would go after her."
Hakuno feels like she should be offended but the disgust she felt for the man was more important.
Hakuno shook her head quickly thinking of a lie, "I'm sorry but me and Ann were going to the store after, and I can't possibly carry it all by myself."
Kamoshida gave her a look of pure irritation and studied her face, looking for any sort of falsehood.
Brown Eyes stared back into his disgusting Black as Hakuno stood firm.
A smile appeared on his face, "Well wouldn't want a little girl to carry too much by herself, keep my offer in mind Takamaki." And with that the giant of a man left.
"...Thanks." Ann mumbled as she watched him leave, Hakuno nodded, tonight would be the best time to talk to her about this. At the least… Hakuno felt for the Od in her Soul and felt the comforting presence of the flame inside. But to make sure Ann was in a good mood.
"We do need to pick some stuff up… Perhaps Shiho could come as well?" Hakuno asked.
"Yeah let me ask her." Ann said as she began texting.
"Seems like she can't make it, Volleyball Practice." Ann visibly deflated at that as Hakuno tsked.
"Well, she will miss out… Let's get some parfaits on the way home, didn't you like that one place by the station?" Hakuno sighed, she wasn't too into sweets… Unless it was anmitsu.
Hakuno was acting weird, at least Ann thought. The younger girl was a bit too observant… Did she find out about Kamoshida? Ann did think she saw a bit of disgust on Hakuno's face when he showed up.
"Ann… Can we talk?" Hakuno asked her as they sat across from each other in their apartment.
Ann swallowed some spit at the seriousness her younger cousin gave off. The girl's stoic face was really good at hiding whatever she was planning to say.
"You're not dating Kamoshida are you?" Hakuno said that with much more emotion then she has ever heard from the brunette.
Ann could feel a small flicker of emotions as she pasted on a plastic smile.
Ann shook her head, "No, that's disgusting!" She wanted to say more but she couldn't. Not for Shiho's sake.
Hakuno let loose a breath. A small smile appeared on her face as she held Ann's hands. Hakuno thought she heard her mumble something else but she couldn't pick up on it.
"If you need me just call ok? I'll help you out as much as I can." Ann seemed to relax as she didn't push any farther.
"I will. Though shouldn't I be the one saying that. I'm the older one!" Hakuno let out a small chuckle as Ann looked slightly offended at the thought.
"Yes, now let's go over what you did in class today." Hakuno watched her cousin freeze as she became bashful.
"Hakunoooo, you know we should get some sleep, it's been a long day."
"Ann, it's only 7. Let's do a quick review."
Hakuno smiled softly as Ann's eyes quickly became dead as she begrudgingly complied.
Author's Note: Well we are in the time of Persona 5 now, not sure about her attire might stick with her Extella outfit, I gots a good idea on her Persona now and how it will tie in including a few fun things.I do have an idea on her Persona and I do agree that Moon Seems like it fits, not to sure if a game has had two people with the Same Arcana but maybe cause Hakuno leans more into the Magically connected compared to Mishima. And Hakuno's 'Persona' might not be the same as her Arcana as that has happened in the past.
I gots a few other loose there is a reason other than the good ole Cup being there that Hakuno is there for. What it is I will leave to yalls imagination for now. Cya next time.
