Author's Note: Hey guys. Long time. It's been a while since I added to my story. I hope to get some more chapters over the holiday season. Please enjoy! The story has elements of both Dark War storyline and DemonxBunny's Masters of the Multiverse, so all credit goes to both Impact Wrestling and DemonxBunny. I do not own the characters, only the OCs. The story is entirely fictional.
Characters may look and act different than they do in real life. This was done intentionally, and things will change over time in this story, so please be patient.
Rating: M, for violence, coarse language, and mature themes/events that will appear throughout this story. Remember, this is Femslash, so if that's not your thing, you may not like this story.
Pairings: Allie/Rosemary (DemonxBunny), others over time.
Aftermath of the Dark War Chapter 2: Meeting of Circumstance by Jurassicfatt
Rosemary's Pov, The Undead Realm, The Lowlands
Walking through the muck of the Lowlands in my favorite boots was not on my to-do list. Then again, neither was going after a Warlord Demon's son. But here I am, walking ankle-deep in swampy earth. The head of my prey in one hand, hook in the other, and my favorite boots covered in inky black mud and the orange leaves of the trees. It'll be a pain to clean off later.
I'd pluck out the eyes of this bastard if I hadn't done it already. After collecting my fee and cleaning my boots, I'll need to rest. My first few days off in a month. As a demon assassin, you don't have much of a break. 28 days of work, 2-5 days off to recuperate. And that's only if the Warlords are few and far between. If a whole region is under attack, you can kiss your break behind. It's a hard life, but I have to abide by the code, lest I be dishonored: Another day, another hunt. Protect the Realm. Assassins continue to fight. No matter the rank, power or bloodline, I will continue to hunt until my last breath has been taken. For the Hive! Of course, the Hive tells you as a trainee that being a demon assassin entails hunting and killing Warlord Demons and their underlings. They prepared me to fight on every terrain in the Realm, but that doesn't make me feel that much better about my boots.
After what seems like an eternity, I reach more solid ground and see my motorcycle. Strapping the head to my bike with a chain, I sit down on the leather seat and look at the damage on my boots. The left one has a tear in the seam. Damn it! I'll have to have Caretaker take a look when I get back to the city.
Just as I am about to start the engine and drive off, I hear a cry for help in the distance. Never a dull day, I tell you. I grab my hook and immediately get off my bike, heading in the direction of the cry. It sounds like a Realmer, but I can't be certain. I run for a few minutes before finally seeing a group of demons and their tall leader, dragging a female Realmer by the leg through the dirt. The demons are all grey with green eyes and hooked beaks instead of mouths. Their leader was obviously a sorcerer, as he looks like he is chanting something to scare off the wildlife. A red cloak covers his pale white body, and his long fingers are covered in blood.
I have to act quickly to save that Realmer. As the group walks towards a large dying tree, I see my opening. I throw my hook and chain at the tree, and it wraps around the trunk. The sorcerer and his demons stop in their tracks. With all my strength, I pull the tree down upon three demons, killing them. I then jump onto the fallen tree.
"Kidnapping, sorcerer? You do know that's a capital offense?" I say mockingly. He narrows his black eyes and grits his teeth.
"You will pay for your insolence! Kill her!" he bellows before the four remaining minions circle me. They snap their beaks in an attempt to frighten me. Before any of them has a chance to attack, I run full force at one and knee it in the stomach. It screeches in pain before I grab its head and impale it on a branch, blood gushing from the wound. The other three run at me, but I pull out a gas bomb from my jacket. Throwing it at my feet, a green gas cloud emerges, surrounding the four of us.
"Where is the assassin!" the sorcerer yells. As the smoke begins to clear, the three demons are now on the ground. Two are down, their heads decapitated from their bodies. The other one has my hook in its mouth, blood leaking from the corners of it. I yank the hook from his mouth and throw it at the sorcerer. He lets go of the Realmer's leg and grabs my hook. I see him whisper something before he pulls me forward, grabbing my neck. He begins to snicker. Does he think this will stop me? All I need to do is throw him an... what? Why can't I move? I try to move my arms and legs, but they don't budge. I dart my eyes towards the sorcerer's face, his head shaking slightly.
"Paralysis spell, my dear. So long as I hold my gaze, you cannot free yourself, assassin." he explains, showing his yellow smile. I concentrate as hard as I can to move my arms, but nothing happens. He begins squeezing down on my throat, and it becomes a struggle just to breathe. If I could move, I would be pounding hard against him to get myself free, but my arms are stuck to my sides as he gazes upon me. Bested by a sorcerer. How stupid of me to think this was too easy. I can feel my lungs burning with the need for oxygen. I've got to get free, but how? I begin to tear up and my vision blurs. Everything is going dark...
Suddenly, the sorcerer is hit from behind by something. He grunts as his gaze drifts downward, his hand letting me go as he falls to one knee. I cough a few times, feeling the air come back into my lungs. I rub my sore neck. As I regain my breath, what I see astounds me. The female Realmer has grabbed a dead branch and wacked the sorcerer on his head. What a brave little thing! She has blue eyes, blond hair and peach colored skin. She's barefoot, only wearing one singular piece of clothing, made of some strange material, to cover herself. The sorcerer turns his head, staring daggers at her.
"Wench!" he shouts before smacking her with his left hand, knocking her down instantly. I stand, grab my hook and stab it into his body before grabbing the chain and spinning him into a nearby tree. His body crashes into it in a loud Clunk! I'm not taking my chances with him again. I yank the chain hard, pulling a rib free of his chest cavity. He screams in pain and looks down at his chest, blood pouring from the newly torn flesh.
"You will *gurgle* pay for thisss..." he whispers before opening a portal and jumping into it. Bastard! All spells and no balls, eh sorcerer? How I wish I could have broken your bones for your attempt on my life! I wipe the excess blood leaking from hook on a nearby tree and go to check on the Realmer. I find her lying on her back, unconscious, but still breathing.
I take a minute to look at my... savior? I guess that's the right word. Who'd a thought a Realmer would save me for a change? Her hair has a few orange leaves in it. Looking to her face, I see a huge red mark with a small cut on her left cheek.
"Bastard really got you good." I say, touching my hand to her face. I grab a spare handkerchief from my pocket and clean a bit of blood from the cut. She winces slightly before relaxing. I feel myself gaze upon her. Her blue eyes are closed, her small nose taking in breath softly, the pouting lips of her mouth shut. The lighter skin of my hand is quite a contrast to the bright peachy color of hers. Her outfit is quite strange. The shiny white garment she wears has two straps holding it up on each shoulder. It is made of a thin material I have never seen before. It covers her torso and bottom, but not her arms and legs. It is made in such a way that the curves of her breasts and hips stick out...
What is the matter with you! A little voice in my head scolds me. Focus on the task at hand.
Right, focus. Looking around, I don't see anyone around calling for her. Figures. I'll just have to get her to Caretaker so he can fix up her wounds. Strapping my hook and chain around my back, I pick her up in my arms and begin walking to my bike. She isn't heavy in the slightest, and her skin is very smoo... Focus, Rosemary. Finally reaching the bike, I put her down next to it and attach my hook on the left side.
So, how to drive a motorcycle with a sleeping passenger? She's in no condition to ride behind me, and I have no extra compartment. She'll have to ride in front of me. Why does that make me feel uncomfortable? I've rescued many Realmers, but none made me feel so... strange. I shake my head to regain my senses. Picking her up again, I place her down in front of me before getting on the bike myself. She begins to lean forward towards the handles, but I catch her shoulder with one hand. So much for that. I turn her around so she faces me this time. She'll have to hold on to me for the entire ride so she doesn't fall off. Grabbing her arms, I try putting them around my waist, when all of a sudden, she wraps her arms around my still sore neck and buries her face into my collar.
"Don't let him get me... He got Braxton... H-He's not human..." she says sporadically, her eyes slightly open.
"Don't worry, I've got you." I murmur into her ear, and she relaxes, her grip still holding me. Who in the world is Braxton? Another Realmer? Guess I'll have to find out later, as she has gone unconscious again. Turning on the bike, I drive slowly out of the forest and make my way towards the city. As she rests against me, I can feel my heart beating fast in my chest. The scent of strawberries comes from her hair, and it is so intoxicating...
Why am I acting like this? the little scolding voice from earlier questions.
You know why. You find her incredibly alluring, don't you? A teasing voice responds. I shake my head again. She saved your life, you're just grateful, that's all. You've saved plenty of Realmers before. She's just like all the rest...isn't she?
A/N: So there you go. The sorcerer and his minions. A daring rescue. We'll see what comes next for Rosemary and Allie once she wakes up. I hope you guys enjoyed this. I know the weather around my area isn't the greatest. I hope it's been better for you guys. Try to get some fresh air if you can.
Please do review if you can. It shows me that people enjoy my stories, which is always nice. Thanks again for reading and have a great day!
