Chapter 7
Military action.
"Reese." Someone said in a haze that is currently clouding Reese's mind.
"Uhhhh what?" Reese says.
"Reese? Are you ok?" Yang says.
"The armor is currently on lockdown Reese can't move." Patty says to Yang.
"Well unlock him so he can move." Yang says.
"It will be a minute, Yang it has to be done slowly." Patty says.
"Can you tell me if he is alive?" Yang asks.
"Yes he is." Patty says.
"Is he hurt?" Ruby asks.
"As far as I know he is not hurt." Patty says.
After a few minutes Reese then went limp and the armor relaxed. Yang then unlocked the helmet and took it off of Reese's head, and from the looks of it he was still in a daze.
"Hey what's going on?" Yang asks.
"I don't know Yang. I'm probably still trying to recover from the crash." Reese says.
"Do you remember what happened?" Yang asks.
"Well I remember that we got chased by grimm, then we made this end of the train crashed, and I got thrown from the train that's when my armor activated the lockdown mode, and that's it." Reese says.
"Well at least your memory is still intact." Yang says.
Reese then gets up and looks around.
"Oh boy what a mess we made." Reese says.
"The crash has been notified to the proper authorities, but it will be a while before they get here." Patty says.
"Right let's get to work. Let's find whatever supply's we can find useful, then let's get the bikes working." Reese says.
After 50 minutes of hard work from everyone they we're on the move.
"So where are we going?" Weiss asks Reese.
"The gps says that there is a town 80 miles north of here. We can stop there and take a rest." Reese says.
"Let's go then." Ruby says.
5 hours later.
The weather turned for the worst. The group was hit with a severe snow storm and it was getting dark.
"Reese I hope you are aware of if this. We need to find shelter or we will freeze." Yang says.
"Yes I'm aware of that I'm looking for a place, and we are in luck there is one around the corner." Reese says.
After another 5 minutes the group came upon a large house but it looked abandoned.
"Great! let's get out of the cold." Ruby says.
"Not yet I'm going to clear the house." Reese says as he loads his smg.
"Come on I'm freezing." Ruby says.
"Do you want to go into a house that might have bad guys hiding inside waiting for potential victims?" Reese asks.
Ruby then shakes her head.
"I'll clear the house give me five minutes." Reese says.
The group then watched Reese open the front door then he went invisible and it went silent. For five minutes exactly it was silent, no noise. Then the door opens and Reese was standing there.
"All clear but I would not suggest to go upstairs." Reese says.
"Why what's up there?" Ruby asks.
Reese didn't say anything instead he looked at Qrow and shook his head. Qrow then nodded in understanding.
"You heard him don't go upstairs." Qrow says.
The group then entered the house to see that Reese started a fire in the fire place.
"Nice Reese where did you get fuel for the fire?" Ruby asks.
"Alcohol storage in the basement is still flammable." Reese says.
Qrow then went to the door for the basement.
"I dumped the rest down the sink." Reese says.
Qrow then looked defeated and he then went to a chair and sat down.
After everyone got settled, Qrow then walked up to Reese where he kept his voice low.
"What's upstairs?" Qrow asks.
"Previous owners are up there and they are dead." Reese says.
"How did they go?" Qrow asks.
"No clue, it looks like natural causes, but I suggest not to stay long. We are 20 miles from the town." Reese says.
"Got it. Well your first watch have a good night." Qrow says as he disappears behind the corner.
"I got to sleep to you know." Reese thought.
7 hours later everyone was asleep well except for Reese he was wide awake.
"I really don't like this place Patty." Reese says.
"What don't you like about it your out of the cold and the snow. Your practically safe." Patty says.
"But I can't shake the feeling of dread that is in this house." Reese says.
"What do you mean? Are you talking about the dead bodies?" Patty asks.
"Yeah they didn't die of natural causes and there was no foul play and there was no sign of a accident." Reese says.
"So what do you think happened to them?" Patty asks.
"Well there is only one explanation. Grimm." Reese says.
"But Grimm would destroy the body and leave no evidence." Patty says.
Reese then heard something it came from upstairs.
"What is it?" Patty asks.
"Quiet." Reese says sharply.
At this point Yang woke up.
"Muummm what's going on sweet….." Yang was about to say but she saw that Reese was now on high alert mode.
Reese didn't hear her. He was tracking the very muffled sound of footsteps.
"Something is in the house and it's not friendly." Reese says.
"What should I do?" Yang asks.
"Silently wake everyone else up we might need to make a fast escape." Reese says while his eyes stay locked on the upstairs hallway.
Yang then got everyone else up well except for Qrow he was having a hard time understanding what the problem is.
"There is nothing inside this house we are completely alone now let's head back to sleep." Qrow says.
Yang was the first to respond.
"Do you have enhancements that make it so you can hear or see better?" Yang asks.
Qrow then shakes his head.
"If Reese says that there is something inside with us I'm going to believe him until proven otherwise." Yang says.
The five teammates of RWBY then made it to the second level of the house, Reese took point and made his way to the door where the source of the sound was coming from.
"Something is behind this door." Reese whispers.
"What should we do?" Blake asks.
"Well we could breach the door and stun whoever is behind there." Reese says.
"How would that work?" Weiss asks.
"Well I take this M100 out I then open the door slightly and toss it in, then when it goes off we rush the room and subdue the target." Reese says.
"Would that thing hurt someone?" Blake asks.
"Nope it's designed to stun humans, faunas, and Grimm." Reese says.
"Do it Reese." Ruby says.
Reese then pulled the pin and opened the door then tossed it in and closed the door.
BOOM! The M100 went off.
Reese then opens the door ready to smack the target to the ground.
But what has got instead was a bunch of targets looking like zombies.
"WHAT THE?!" Reese shouted.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BANG! BANG!
Reese was shooting at the zombies, and some of them fell but the rest moved toward Reese.
"GET OUT!" Reese shouted but when he looked back the team was on the ground awake but looking very depressed and hopeless.
"YANG GET UP!" Reese says very loudly.
"What's the point? We are doomed anyway." Yang says back.
Reese then noticed that he wasn't affected by whatever is making team rwby stunned.
Reese then went over to Ruby and tried to shake her out of whatever trance she is in.
"Come on we got to get moving if we don't we are going to die." Reese says.
Just then Ruby then opens her eyes and sees that Yang was about to get bit by one of the Grimm.
Then without warning a bright flash of sliver light came from Ruby's eyes.
Then Reese looked back and the grimm were stunned, Reese then took advantage of the moment and grabbed the whole team and threw them out of the room.
"EVERYONE GET OUT WE HAVE A GRIMM. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE!" Reese shouted as he threw a glass bottle full of alcohol that had a rag that was on fire.
One minute later everyone was on the trailer and all of them left the house that is now on fire.
Three hours later in a nearby town.
"What happened?" Jaune asks.
"I don't know how to explain this. Umm have you seen a zombie movie?" Reese asks.
"One yes but it was awful." Jaune says back.
"Hey don't make fun of the effects." Nora says.
"Anyway what I saw was zombie Grimm, they almost killed us." Reese says.
"You mean that they were inside the house the whole time and we didn't know?" Pyrrha asks.
"That sums it up." Reese says.
Then Reese turned to Ruby.
"Now the question I have for you young lady is. What is up with your eyes?" Reese asks.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asks back.
Now Reese knows when someone is lying or is telling the truth. But in Ruby's case she is somewhere in the middle.
"I know you know something about your silver eyes." Reese says.
Just then Ruby moves slightly.
"And there is the tell." Reese thinks.
But before he could ask his next question Ozpin/Oscar jumps in front of her.
"We just went through a big ordeal, let's stay on track." Ozpin says.
"Ok fine I'll leave it at that but remember Ozpin as I have told you everything, you need to return the same courtesy." Reese says back.
Ozpin says nothing back.
"So what's our next step?" Jaune asks.
"Well currently Atlas is 100 miles from here and the nearest out post is 1 mile from here." Reese says.
"Great let's go there and see if they can help us." Ruby says.
Some time later.
"Sorry we can't let you in." Guard one says.
"But we need to get to Ironwood. We have important information for him." Ruby says.
"Even if you have important information for gen Ironwood your going to have to wait for him when he comes by next time." Guard two says.
"And when will that happen?" Weiss asks.
"Two years. Have a good day." Guard one says.
"But." Ruby says.
"Good day." Guard two says.
Then they left and everyone is dismayed.
"I can't wait that long." Nora says.
"Same here." Pyrrha says.
"What do you think Reese?" Yang asks.
Reese then decloaked and took off the helmet.
"Well I think twiddle dee and twiddle dumb should work on their greeting if they want to make it to the opera house." Reese says.
That got some people in the group to start laughing.
"But in all seriousness. That outpost looks barely armed. It has a few aircraft, five jeeps, and one mech." Reese says.
"I didn't see a mech." Yang says.
"That's because the mountains conceal it." Reese says.
"So what are we going to do?" Weiss asks.
Reese didn't respond but instead he grins.
"I don't like what you're thinking Reese." Weiss says.
A few minutes later.
"What are you doing back here citizen?" Guard one says.
"I'm Weiss Schnee and I demand to talk to your commander." Weiss says.
Just then the gates open and Weiss is greeted by the commander.
"Oh my miss Schnee, what is it that you want?" Cordovin asks.
"I want to head back to Atlas and attend the same school as my sister went to." Weiss says.
As Weiss was talking to cordovin. Reese was sneaking around the out post.
"That's right, eyes on Weiss." Reese says.
Reese's objectives were get ammo for his weapons, then shut down some of the security systems, lastly get Patty in on one of the drop ships so she can control it.
Reese then went to the armory first, after hacking the security system Reese found the right ammo for his weapons. He then grabbed several mags for his dmr, hand gun, the 55 and last a few mags for the smg.
"Patty can you disable some of the security systems but not all?" Reese asks.
"Like what?" Patty asks.
"Like the perimeter system but not the Grimm security system." Reese says.
"Let's see yep I can do that." Patty says.
"Good, set it up so it can turn off for ten minutes." Reese says.
"Done ready on your command." Patty says.
Reese then looks over and sees that Weiss is about to get on an aircraft.
"Not part of the plan. Patty send out the signal." Reese says.
"All Atlas forces p.o.i spotted target Reese is located in the nearby town, move in for a capture." Patty sends out over all the radios.
Then everyone stopped and moved out so they could find Reese.
What Reese didn't notice is that cordovin escorted Weiss to inside the command post.
"Damn! Where is she?" Reese asks Patty.
"Weiss is inside a security office." Patty says back.
Reese then got to the front door and kicked it down while staying on the move.
"Don't have time to do this silently, get moving as soon as possible." Reese thinks.
"Hey who are yo…." cordovin was about to ask but.
SMACK!
Reese hit her and stunned her for a few minutes.
Reese then stops and looks around.
"WEISS?" Reese shouts.
"REESE!" Weiss shouted back.
Reese then found the door where she is being held.
"COVER YOUR FACE!" Reese shouted as he lifted his handgun.
BOOM!
Reese blew the lock off the door and Weiss got out. Then they rounded the corner to see Cordovin with a shotgun.
"That's far enough trader." Cordovin says.
Both Reese and Weiss stopped and now they have nowhere to go.
"Now Weiss dear, step aside so I can eliminate this poi and get that reward from Ironwood." Cordovin says.
Weiss then stepped in front of Reese and stood there.
"No I will not let you kill him." Weiss says.
"And what makes you think I'll let him go?" Cordovin asks.
"Well he is my sisters son so technically he is related to me, so if you fire you will have the wrath of my sister to deal with." Weiss says.
Cordovin then looks away as if she is going to think about it but then she loads a round into the chamber.
"Sorry dear, order's out rank family relations." Cordovin says while taking aim.
Weiss then ducks and Reese then takes aim.
BOOM!
BANG! BANG!... BANG!
Cordovin fired first, her pellets spread out but most of them missed but a few hit Reese in the plate area but two got into his right shoulder. At the same time Reese fired twice his anti aura rounds hit Cordovin in the chest twice and she was sitting on the ground, where she barely got time to comprehend that she got two in the chest then next came blackness as the next round hit her in the head.
Reese and Weiss then started running.
"Patty start the ship." Reese says.
Then both of them got to the aircraft and it took off, then some time later they met with the rest of the group on a cliff near by the shoreline.
"Your late! What happened?" Ruby asks.
Then Ruby saw the wound on Reese's shoulder.
"Who got you?" Yang asks as the group loaded everyone's gear into the aircraft.
"The commander of the outpost. She was hellbent on getting the reward that ironwood put on my head." Reese says.
"What happened to her?" Ruby asks.
"What do you think?" Weiss asks.
Then everyone realized what happened and went silent.
Just then the alarms went off.
MISSILE INCOMING!
"PATTY EVASIVE MANEUVERS!" Reese shouted as he strapped into the pilots seat.
"What are we going to do?" Blake asks.
"Strap in and get ready." Reese says as he sees the incoming projectile.
Reese started to swerve and drop flares just so it can lose lock on him, but no matter how hard he tried it found him again.
"Patty what is that?" Reese asks.
"It's a AM-55 satellite guided missile it has a range of 25 miles. It's currently traveling at Mach one it could go Mach three." Patty says.
"Perfect." Reese says as he dogged it again.
"What's the word Reese?" Ruby asks.
"That missile will never lose lock on us; it's designed to stay on target and destroy it." Reese says.
"What can we do against it?" Ruby asks.
"Well I have an idea but it's a risky move." Reese says back.
"What is it?" Ruby asks.
"Well I get into those clouds and hide for a minute then we pop back out and you snipe it." Reese says.
"WHAT!?" Everyone says.
"Look you don't realize what kind of situation we are in, and if I keep evading this monster it will make us run out of fuel or it hit us and well we die, so our options are limited." Reese says as he dogged it again.
"Let's do it." Ruby says.
Reese then hit the afterburners and got into the clouds, then the alarms stopped.
"It lost us, here Ruby you might want this." Reese says as he tossed his helmet to Ruby.
Ruby then put it on and immediately it activated and patty was there.
"Hello miss rose I'm here to help you with the shot." Patty says.
"Um ok where is it now?" Ruby asks.
"it's right now two point five miles to our right, when your ready Reese will open the doors and get you a clear line of sight where you can take the shot, I will help you with the calculations so just aim where the dot is when I plant it on the HUD." Patty says.
Ruby then sits down on the deck for more of a stable platform and loads her crescent rose.
"Ready." Ruby says.
Reese then opens the door and gets out of the cloud cover.
LOCK ON SAM! SAM the aircraft says.
Ruby ignored all the sound and focused on her crosshairs.
Then she saw the dot appear on the helmet then she commenced firing.
BOOM! BOOM!BOOM!BOOM BOOM!
Several of the rounds missed but one did strike it but it didn't do much damage.
"SHIT!" Reese says as the missile was now close to 500 yards.
BANG!...BOOM!
She hit it.
Reese then looked up to see that it was gone. Ruby indeed hit the warhead and caused it to detonate.
Everyone then cheered and Ruby returned the helmet to Reese.
"You had me worried there for a second." Reese says.
"Well at least I got it." Ruby says while shrugging.
"Yep you did. Patty set a course for Atlas." Reese says as he gets out of the pilots seat.
Reese then sits down and he is greeted by Yang to his right and Weiss to his left where they both sit next to him.
"This is new." Reese says.
"Well I decided to get to know my sister's son so I want to talk with you." Weiss says.
Reese then looked at his wife where she gave him a nod.
"I need to do some more catching up with Ruby and Blake." Yang says.
Reese then looked back at Weiss to see that she was sitting next to his bike, then she gestured for him to sit down next to her.
"What would you like to know about?" Reese asks.

This marksman rifle was in development for two years the main reason it took that long was because it was developed to shoot a new cartage that maximized range and stopping power that can be used effectively against Grimm. The only downside to the gun is that cost of making one so very few are made. In order to get one a special forces marksman has to score a 150 in the basic marksman courses and a 130 points in the advanced sniper course.
