Chapter 24
Love finds a way.
Yang woke up as normal and rolled over to see if Reese was in his spot on the bed,and found he was not there.
"Why is he not there?" Yang wondered.
She got up and went straight to the bathroom for a shower. Usually she gets done in under 7 minutes but today she was in there for 25 minutes just standing there in a sad state.
"Hey Yang get out of there! (BANG! BANG!)" Ruby shouts angrily while pounding the door.
That snapped Yang out of whatever trance she was in, and she rushed getting washed for the day.
Ruby was still waiting and when Yang left she caught a glimpse of her sister hanging her head low.
"Hey you ok?" Ruby asks.
Yang looked back and gave a smile.
"I'm ok, just tired." Yang said back.
"You miss him don't you?" Ruby says as she closes the door.
That caught the older sister's attention and she was about to ask but the door was locked.
Yang walked downstairs after getting ready for her day to find the rest of the team eating away.
"Hey, your dad left something in the fridge for you." Blake says.
Yang then nods and grabs whatever it was that was inside the fridge and begins to eat.
"So has anyone got news of what JNR is up to?" Weiss asks.
"From what I heard they helped out with busting a major crime ring." Blake says.
"Bet ya Nora smashed everyone with her hammer." Ruby says.
That got the table to chuckle. Yang on the other hand was content with looking at her food.
"Come on Yang, eat up, we have a job to do." Weiss says as she clears her spot from the table.
Yang responded as if she didn't hear Weiss.
"When is he coming back?" Yang says.
Before anyone can respond someone was at the door. Yang then got up first and rushed to the door thinking it was her husband, instead it was Winter.
"I'm here for ruby." Winter says.
"Be right here just give me a minute." Ruby says.
Yang then got an idea.
"Where is Reese?" Yang asks.
"What do you mean?" Winter asks.
"Well when your here he is nearby." Yang says all hopeful.
"Hate to say it but I'm not here for him, just your sister." Winter says.
The reality is that Reese is nearby but he is keeping a good distance from the house.
"WHERE IS HE.?" Yang shouts.
Winter didn't budge but gave Yang a stare down she will never forget.
"I know not where he is but if he left it was for a good reason. Now the question I have for you miss xiao long is. Are you the reason he had to leave?" Winter asks in a commanding voice.
Yang was shaking a little but she couldn't answer but instead she looked away.
"That's what I thought, Ruby you ready?" Winter asks.
Both Ruby and Winter then left to go have a chat for the rest of the day.
The rest of the team then went out to do their jobs for the day. But for Yang she couldn't just get over it and she needed to say something or ask for forgiveness then hopefully her other half would appear out of thin air.
The day for Yang went by very slowly and not much happened for work either.
"Being a huntsman officer sucks." Weiss says after the day was up.
"Well this job is the only one where we can use our skills and plus because of Reese and Patty's recommendation." Blake says.
Everyone went home where they found Ruby and Tai waiting for them.
"Hey, how was your day?" Tai asks.
"Boring. Nothing exciting happened." Blake said.
The other women nodded in agreement.
Now Tai wasn't looking at everyone but paying attention to Yang to see how she is feeling. (Reese asked him to do that)
Dinner was as usual silent no one wanted to really talk now this got Tai concerned.
"You know you guys used to chat a lot. What happened?" Tai asks in seriousness.
"With the job or the day?" Weiss asks.
"Not what I'm asking. I'm asking what happened to your team dynamic?" Tai asks.
"Well we are trying to get our lives together so that we can move on from the hell we have been through." Weiss answered.
"Yeah I get that but that's what's not bugging you guys." Tai says.
"Then what is it?" Ruby asks.
"Why all of the sudden the disappearance of Reese caused the team dynamic to fall apart?" Tai asks.
That got everyone to stop.
"It's especially affecting you Yang." Tai says.
Yang at this point was now gripping her fork really hard and on the verge of sadness.
"I still don't know why he….he….he left me." Yang said.
"Well maybe he left because you did something that made him question your personality." Tai says.
"WELL THAT MONSTER HURT RUBY AND I WANTED TO GIVE SOME PAYBACK!" Yang shouted.
Now the house went silent.
"Yang do you remember what I told you some time ago about the use of force?" Tai asks with a frown.
Yang was now looking back and forth in a slight panic because she remembered and now she sees that what she said was wrong.
"Oh shit." Yang mumbles.
"And now the puzzle comes together." Tai says.
Now Yang's stress level was through the roof.
"HOW COULD I REMEMBER THAT WHEN I HAVE A FAMILY I'M RAISING.!?" Yang says in one final fit of rage.
Weiss then gasps while Blake stares back with a look of (I knew it.)
At that moment Yang's mind broke. She then ran out of the house before anyone could react.
"Yang, where are you going?" Blake asks out of concern for her partner.
"I don't think she heard you Blake." Weiss says.
Yang ran for a long time but she wasn't keeping track of where she was but all she knew was that her current location is at the cliff side where the sun was going down, at this moment she was alone, just her thoughts to keep her company.
"I'm now really screwed Reese, where are you? I need you at my side." Yang thought.
Just then Yang felt a small gust of wind pass by and she looked back to see if someone is walking up to her but she saw nothing, but looks can be deceiving Yang then looked carefully and there it was a slight distortion in the background, the tadtell sign of someone who is cloaked.
"Reese?" Yang says through tears.
Just then the figure decloaks and the helmet then reveals who it was underneath and indeed it was Reese.
Reese then started walking to Yang but she was running to him. They both met in the middle and Yang held on while crying into Reese's shoulder.
"Where did you go? Why did you leave?" Yang asks.
"Not far and a teaching moment." Reese says.
Yang was about to retort but stopped when she remembered what's at stake.
"Don't leave me again, stay with your family, they need you." Yang cried out.
Reese rubbed Yang's back and silently admitted he missed her too.
They stood on the cliff for a long time waiting for Yang to get better but it was hard for her to stop crying in relief.
"Come Yang, let's head home where we can cuddle." Reese says.
Yang nodded and they walked home hand in hand, after twenty minutes they made it home.
"Hey look who came back." Weiss says as the couple walked through the door.
Now the house came alive with talk but Reese just refused questions.
"So did you know Yang is pregnant?" Tai asks.
"Yes I knew she told me personally." Reese says.
"So what now?" Blake asks.
"Well we continue and get better." Reese says.
When Reese said that he could not shake the feeling that the good times are not going to last too much longer.
Somewhere else.
Salem was sitting in her room, eyes shut thinking about what her new second henchmen was doing in her grimm training, but something was amiss. At that moment she stood up and went straight to her throne room, as she was walking it was silent in the castle everyone was asleep (everyone has to sleep) Salem thought about it even though she wanted to conquer the world as fast as possible. Now she entered the grand hall where the crystal ball was located and immediately she activated it and began speaking.
"Tyrian report." Salem says.
Nothing.
"Tyrian report." Salem commands.
Normally when Salem contacts Tyrian he answers the first call but now either he is taking a nap or captured or he's dead.
"Something wrong my grace?" A cloaked figure asks.
"Tyrian is not reporting." Salem says.
"Maybe he's captured." The cloaked figure says.
"Unlikely. But if that's the case you need to pick up where he left off." Salem says.
"What is thy bidding?" The figure asks while bowing.
"Last report I got from him says that he is headed to the island of Patch, look for Ruby and bring her back unharmed, and only look around at night." Salem commands.
Just then the cloaked figure steps back and jumps through a portal and disappears.
"Patch hmmm I wonder." Salem says as she walks out of the main hall.
Back at patch.
Reese and Yang were having dinner together and they spent it in silence but what made it different is Yang had her head on Reese's shoulder and his head was on hers.
Reese also noticed that Yang was humming a tune and smiling.
"Um, are you going to eat your food it's getting cold?" Reese says.
"No, I missed you too much. I want to spend every minute with you." Yang says.
Reese then leans and whispers.
"How about this you eat your food, then after we are done we can make out for the time I was gone." Reese whispered.
Yang then leaned away and started eating really quick and both got done in a few minutes, they then went upstairs passing by everyone who was in the living room watching a show or out and about in town enjoying the nightlife of Patch.
Yang entered the room first with Reese's hand in hers, when Reese got into the room Yang closed the door and leaned against it and gave a seductive look on her face.
"Come here honey." Yang says.
Reese at that moment saw her eyes flicker to bright pink for a brief moment then return to the color they were normally, but it still felt like she had a commanding presence, instead Reese was going to take the lead this time.
"How cute." Reese says.
Yang's face then dropped a little.
Reese then stretched his hand to Yang.
"Come to me." Reese says.
Yang then grabbed on and Reese brought her close to him and made a wild look on his face that Yang had never seen before.
"Let's join in each other's embrace, and become one." Reese says as his armor melts off from him and reveals his shorts.
"Show me then sweetheart." Yang says as she takes off her jacket to reveal her exercise clothes.
Both then kiss each other and hold on, they both were standing, but after a few seconds they both almost lost balance. But right on que Yang then jumps up and wraps her legs around Reese, and at the same time Reese walks towards the bed and gently puts Yang down on the mattress.
Reese then started kissing Yang from her lips to her ears to her neck then back to her lips, sometimes Yang would flip Reese over and take her turn doing the same method of kissing him.
After some hours both Reese and Yang got tired and stopped for the night.
"I missed this." Yang says as she hugs Reese.
"I missed you sweetheart." Reese says back as he hugs Yang.
"So what are we going to do now?" Yang asks.
"Get back to normal life and live." Reese says back.
Both then drifted off to sleep completely unaware of the dangers that await them in the near future.
