The next morning found all the campers in the Main Lodge. The Gophers were talking cheerfully and laughing while the Bass were yawning and grumbling, looking horrible.
Camilo was talking animatedly to Leshawna and Noah occasionally, Izzy was sitting on his other side frowning at this. Justin was glaring at Camilo. Heather was glaring at Izzy and Gwen was glaring at almost everybody. Well, not all the Gophers were as cheerful.
At the Bass table, Duncan was snoring as he slept, Tyler kept yawning and stretching, Luca was also asleep on the bench, curled up and Jaeden was stabbing his plate so hard the fork cracked the plate. Eva most likely would have acted that way as well but she had her music. So she was fine for now.
"Duncan!" Chris exclaimed cheerfully, jerking half the Bass team out of their slumber. Bridgette, who was leaning on Geoff's shoulder, almost fell off the table. "You look like shit, dude!"
"Fuck you!"
"Harold snored throughout the whole damn night!" Courtney snapped.
"Wow! Four nights of no sleep? How much are you hurting?"
"You wanna find out?" Duncan raised his fist, threateningly while Luca quietly mumbled, "a lot. I'm suffering a lot."
"No, no, it's cool."
Suddenly, the door burst open to reveal Harold and everyone gasped before they started snickering as he waltzed over to his table.
"What the hell are you laughing at?" Harold snapped as he sat across from Luca, who took one look at him and fell to the ground laughing, forgetting his tiredness.
"Dude, someone drew on your face," Geoff whispered.
Harold grabbed a spoon to see his reflection while Jaeden commented, "Nice mustache."
"Danke," Harold pretended to curtsy among more giggles.
"Hey, everyone! It's Sophia!" Chris announced as the redhead slumped into the Main Lodge, head down and she vaguely heard Lindsay ask Justin, "why are we clapping?"
Courtney growled at the redhead.
"Good job!" Camilo patted her back as she plopped down between him and Leshawna, who also patted her back in congratulations. Gwen gave her smile and she smiled back.
"I'm so tired!" She groaned suddenly, "I can't feel my damn face!" With that her head slammed down on the table and she tried to get more shut-eye.
(Confessional Cam)
Courtney- Okay, so the teams are each tied for a win, but we can't let our guard down! We need to get the lead, show them we're the stronger team!
Heather- Okay, so I know that they got the first win and that we're tied, but they are so going to get their asses kicked! It shouldn't be too hard if I believe it! And at least, Ezekiel took my advice. They've gotten rid of one of their best players.
Jaeden- Well played, sis. Guess you're the new Night Owl of the house, huh?
Sophia- /whines/ I wanna go to bed! Can I skip today's challenge and sleep the rest of the day? I'm sure my team can spare me!
Down the table, Heather was staring with narrowed eyes at Camilo and Izzy, who was now telling him some crazy story now that Leshawna was engaged in conversation with Sophia. Then she turned to Beth and Lindsay, deciding to focus on the alliance instead. Glaring wouldn't do anything.
"Okay, let's go over the rules one more time. Number one, I'm captain and I make the rules. Number two…?"
"Breaking rules means we get kicked out of the alliance?" Lindsay said in a questioning tone.
"Good!" Heather said and Lindsay looked happy by her approval. "Number Three, I can borrow your stuff, but no touching mine."
"Uh, that sounds unfair…" Beth said uncertainly.
"That's fine, I'll just find someone else who'll listen," Heather said and both girls frantically shook their heads. "Good. Now let's have some fun." She stood up and looked at the Bass. "Hey fish-heads! Way to go on kicking off one of your biggest players!"
Courtney lobbed a spoonful of paste at her but Heather anticipated this and it hit Sophia's face instead, who had the misfortune of looking up at the time.
"At least we've still got Eva, you bitch!" Jaeden yelled and threw a cup at her. This was unexpected so it hit her in the back of the head and Heather got knocked out.
The Bass laughed and Duncan high-fived Jaeden while Eva gave him a nod of approval, happy to be recognized for her strength.
"Yeah, we'll win this one, dudes!" Geoff, ever the enthusiast of his team, exclaimed. He and Tyler butted heads and felt dizzy after.
"Alright campers, listen up!" Chris said, walking in. "Your next challenge begins in ten minutes, so be prepared to bring it! Meet up in the Glass Court."
After breakfast everyone hurried to get to the Glass Court. It was pretty obvious what the challenge was.
Duncan was one of the last to stagger in and slumped on the bench, threatening, "wake me up and it'll be the last thing you do!" Before he fell asleep once again.
Tyler gulped and Luca hid behind Jaeden but Courtney wasn't fazed, rolling her eyes. Eva and Jaeden probably would've been asleep themselves as well but they needed all hands on deck. Plus, Eva was all for sports.
"This is all your fault, nerd!" Courtney snapped at Harold. "You and your snoring FACE!"
"It's called a medical condition, GOSH!" He bellowed the last word, making people jump. Courtney had held her hands up defensively when he yelled. She dropped them, glaring at him, as Chef blew a whistle. The cook was in a referee outfit.
"Today's challenge is a classic game of dodgeball," Chris began.
"No shit, Sherlock," Sophia mumbled.
"The first rule of dodgeball is…?"
"Don't talk about dodgeball?" Noah asked and then snickered.
"It's in the name. Why are you asking us like we have no brains?" Gwen asked.
"He's the one with no brains, he's just acting like we're the dummies," Sophia told her teammates and they snickered.
"You Gophers are so mean," Chris whined before clearing his throat and straightening up, continuing. "As I was saying, if you get hit with the ball-" he threw one at Courtney and it hit her so hard in the gut she bumped into Harold. "-you're out!"
"You can't do that!" Courtney grumbled.
"I just did and will again. If you catch the ball the thrower gets sent out and you can get another player onto the field!"
"Throwing balls, another mentally challenging activity!" Noah deadpanned. Jaeden started laughing at the way he said it and he rolled his eyes.
"I know, right?" Lindsay said to him, not noting he was being sarcastic. Noah exchanged a look with Cody, who just smiled.
"Okay, Luca try to hit me," Chris said, tossing the curly-haired boy a ball. Luca nervously grasped it and prepared to throw it. Chris picked up another ball and held it out saying, "if you deflect a ball with your own then you're still in but if it falls outta your hands, you're out!"
"So what do I do again?" Lindsay asked.
"He just said it!" Sophia said through her teeth, smiling fakely.
"You dodge!" Chris yelled just as Luca decided to throw and Chris deflected the ball, causing it to hit Lindsay in the face and the blonde fell.
"Oof! You were supposed to dodge!" Chris snapped as Cody helped Lindsay up. There was a bump on her forehead.
"Ow!"
"Minute till Game Time!" Chris said.
"Okay, we can't get lazy. Both teams are even and we'll be very competitive just to take the win and lead of the winning streak," Heather snapped, immediately in order. "Who wants to sit out with the sleeping beauties?" She indicated Sophia and Gwen.
"Alright, I'll do it," Noah said, looking bored, obviously not impressed with the challenge. He pulled out a book and immediately became immersed with it.
"Now let's see y'all get out there and dodge!" Sophia cheered tiredly.
The Bass had Eva and Tyler, of course out, with Katie, Jaeden and Courtney. The Gophers had Heather, Lindsay, Leshawna, Camilo and Cody.
"Bring it on fishes! Otherwise winning again just won't be as satisfying!" Heather taunted. Eva growled but Tyler came up with a smart comeback.
"Oh, you're going down! We're gonna bring the dinner to the table and then we're gonna eat it!"
Never mind.
Courtney face-palmed and everyone else stared at him like he was an idiot. Camilo piped up, saying, "I bring my own dinner to the table!" And with that he hit Tyler out.
The Gophers cheered and Heather gave the Shapeshifter an approving sort of nod. Izzy and Sophia were clapping.
Cody threw a ball at Eva, who dodged and gave him a determined smirk. He gave her a nervous smile as she growled. Camilo suddenly became a whirl and Eva was looking at herself saving Cody from getting hit as she threw it.
Eva was out.
"They took out Eva and Tyler? We're so fucked!" Jaeden shrieked.
"Loser!" Sophia coughed but her brother heard and suddenly became angry at this. He grabbed Katie and Courtney's balls and threw them both at Leshawna and she slammed into the wall.
Now it was the Bass' turn to cheer. Izzy looked away, her lips twitching suspiciously.
Soon it was down to Camilo and Cody versus Jaeden and Katie. Jaeden pelted Camilo with two balls and he ducked one but the other hit him in the gut and he fell on his back. He got up and staggered to his team's bleachers and sat by Izzy, clutching his stomach.
"Ouch. Are you okay?" She asked, sympathetically.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he groaned.
"Easy out, guys," Courtney instructed her teammates. "Easy out." Cody was looking nervous at being outnumbered.
The brunette boy suddenly got a determined expression and grabbed a dodgeball. He spun it in a certain way so that when he threw it and Jaeden ducked to dodge it, it circled back and hit him in the butt.
"Ow! My ass!" Jaeden cried dramatically, clutching his behind. Sophia woke up and rolled her eyes.
Cody took the other ball and rubbed it fast on the torso of his shirt that static sparked from it. When he lobbed it at Katie and she started running, IT FOLLOWED HER!
"WHAT IN THE FUCK?!" Courtney yelled from the sidelines while the rest of her team gaped.
Meanwhile, the Gophers cheered as Cody hopped up and down in his victory. He noticed the Bass gaping. "What? Never seen a geek play dodgeball before?"
"Gophers win the first round!" Chris announced. "Next round!"
The next round, Gophers sent out Leshawna again, Owen, Gwen, Beth and Justin. Bass sent out Tyler, Harold, Bridgette, Sadie, and Ezekiel. Luca had taken to hiding under the bleachers. They couldn't send him out onto that death court if they couldn't find him.
"Time to unleash my wicked skills," Harold mumbled.
"Oh, yeah? Well bring it, Stringbean, let's see what ya got!" Leshawna stepped forward, confidently.
Harold struck a few kung-fu poses, balancing the ball on his knee and then he slammed it onto the floor where it bounced to the other side. Leshawna raised an eyebrow as the ball rolled to her feet, picked it up, smirked at Harold, who started running and screaming like a girl and slammed it into the back of his head. He was slammed face-first into the glass.
"Damn!" Chris commented. "That's gonna leave a mark."
Harold sat next to Jaeden, rubbing his cheek when he noticed Luca's disappearance. "Hey, where's Luca?" He asked Jaeden.
"Dunno," Jaeden mumbled, eyes still on the game before them.
"What am I supposed to do with this again?" Lindsay asked, walking forward only to get knocked out by Katie again. As she slowly walked off the court, she noticed Tyler waving at her and she smiled. Heather also took notice of this and threw a ball at him.
"Mommy?" He whimpered, clutching his crotch.
"Hey! He's not even on!" Courtney yelled from the sidelines. "Coach?"
Chef raised an eyebrow at the Queen Bee, who fake-smiled and said, "whoopsies, slipped." Chef let it go and Courtney ground her teeth.
Ezekiel attempted to hit Heather out but Owen caught the ball and the Homeschool boy trailed off to the side, head hung in defeat.
Next Sophia was sent in and she slowly trailed over when suddenly Bridgette threw a ball that Owen ducked, causing it to hit the redhead instead.
Jaedan laughed rudely so.
"Oops, sorry!" Bridgette called, nervously as Sophia was getting helped to her feet by Owen.
"Oh, it's okay. Trust me." She smiled before heading back to the bleachers, happy to catch up on more sleep.
The next round finished with the Gophers winning again.
"Okay, I honestly can't help you all unless I have all the balls," Eva said, punching Jaeden, who had started wiggling his eyebrows at the insinuation. "But they have Camilo and he's still surprising me, is all."
"I dunno, dudes…" Geoff sighed. "I think we need Duncan, but I don't wanna wake him. And where is Luca?"
"Who knows," Bridgette said.
"If only Tyler didn't suck at throwing," Courtney muttered.
"Hey!"
"She's right!" Eva shot back. "You and Harold's aim sucks, but at least that dork has a reason with his skinny noodle arms."
"Hey, I resent that!" Said dork retorted.
"Okay, guys, we just have to believe!" Katie squealed confidently.
"Listen, I can win the game, you guys," Eva said. "If I have all the balls and you all just stay out of the way."
Courtney opened her mouth to agree when Tyler yelled, "no way! Sports are more my thing!" He punched his palm with his fist. "I've got this round, just give all the balls to me!"
"Tyler-" Courtney began.
Eva waved her off. "Okay, fine. Jock boy," she said, eyes glinting. As he immediately headed onto the court, Eva whispered to Courtney, "if he fails this round, I'll captain the next round my way. If we lose completely… we'll know who to send home."
After a moment of hesitation, the brunette nodded and chose the next players for the round to join Tyler on the court.
Geoff, Jaeden, Katie and Courtney herself went out onto the court.
"Noah, get your ass on the court!" Heather snapped.
"I'm good."
"I'll go!" Camilo sighed, rolling his eyes.
"Me too!" Izzy volunteered.
Heather glared at the redhead for whatever Heather-ish reason before she relented and rolled her eyes, glaring at Noah. "Fine."
Owen, Beth and Lindsay volunteered as well, the latter blonde not knowing what exactly she was volunteering for.
When everyone was on the field they stared each other down and were confused to see Tyler holding all the balls.
"Why does he have all the balls?" Owen asked.
"Hahaha!" Jaeden laughed obnoxiously only to be punched by Courtney this time.
The round started and Tyler whirled around like a human tornado, unleashing all the balls. One headed for Chef but he caught it, one nearly got Chris' face and the host yelled, "hey, watch the face, dude!" Another headed towards the Gopher's bleachers and they all scattered, except slow-reaction-skills Noah, who was knocked over, and the last one hit Lindsay, knocking her out for a third time.
"NOOOO!" Tyler ran over as Courtney muttered, "finally!"
"Oh, Tyler, my face, is it bad?" Lindsay asked as he helped her up.
He cringed at the sight before relaxing. She would always look truly beautiful to him. "It's really… not that bad."
"Really?"
"Really!"
Camilo and Owen had been staring at them uncertainly for a moment before the Shapeshifter casually walked over and hit the ball against Tyler, getting him out.
Courtney face-palmed. Eva started laughing.
Suddenly, Lindsay and Tyler left. Just like that in the middle of the challenge. Heather glared after them and so did Courtney.
"Eva, there's no time to be laughing at Tyler!" The CIT snapped. "Would you just get out here?"
The Bodybuilder rolled her eyes, but took Tyler's place, also grabbing all the balls. "Okay, I need you all to cover me. Take any dodgeballs while I work to get them out," she explained.
"Righto!" Jaedan saluted and gave his sister's team a determined glare. He blinked, however, when they called a timeout and hurried to the side. "They're already scared. Great going, Eva. How do you do it?"
Her reply was throwing a dodgeball at the back of his head, making him slam onto the floor. Courtney sighed, rubbing her temples.
"Okay. Eva has all the balls!" Heather said, trying not to panic, but she was coming close. "Camilo can you help?"
"Um, yeah, maybe I can become her and have all the balls too?" He said, shrugging, but he was uncertain.
"Here's an idea," Noah suddenly spoke up, still looking at his book. "Just aim for her only. She can't dodge all of them, even if she gets a couple of you out. And she might not expect it… then do the same for the rest."
His teammates slowly blinked at him then exchanged looks amongst each other. Leshawna was the first to comment. "Not bad, Turkey."
"Thanks, Big Girl."
Leshawna was held back by Sophia, Gwen, Camilo and Justin.
"Okay, whatever. We'll try it. And if not…" Heather glared threateningly at Noah, who was back to his book. Cody tapped his shoulder and nodded at Heather.
Noah rolled his eyes then dramatically, said, "Oh dear, whatever will I do if I fail my team?"
"Get… kicked off?" Camilo exchanged a glance with Izzy.
"Okay, people back on the court!" Chris yelled.
"Gophers on three?" Cody asked, putting his hand in the middle. The others joined him and he smiled, counting down.
"Gophers!" They all said enthusiastically, even Heather.
The next round, Eva confidently prepared herself to squish all the Gophers into pulps, but when the round started, her eyes widened as she saw five balls head for her.
She lay on the ground, bruised as her teammates surrounded her worriedly.
"Um… Sorry we couldn't shield you on time," Katie said, nervously. Eva suddenly jumped up, roaring. She grabbed a ball and her teammates ran. But she threw it at the Gophers' bleachers.
Noah gained his second horrible bruise of the day as he went down and his book went flying. Sophia laughed.
Next thing, the Bass were all hit out, giving that round to the Gophers.
"AAARRRRGGHHHH!" Eva smashed her fist into the bleachers, leaving a dent and a very scared boy underneath them.
"Eva, please," Bridgette tried to reason.
"Where are Luca and Tyler?" Sadie asked what had already been asked.
"Who knows, maybe they're hiding 'cuz we're losers, eh," Ezekiel said, shrugging and hanging his head.
Eva nearly punched him if Geoff, Sadie and Bridgette hadn't held her back. The prairie boy whimpered in fear and suddenly Jaedan grew determined.
He stormed over to Duncan. "WAKE UP, ASSHOLE!" He bellowed in the delinquent's ear and everyone in the vicinity jumped and whipped around to stare at the crazy boy.
"You are so dead!" Katie squealed, hiding behind Sadie. Bridgette edged behind Geoff and Harold dove under the bleachers where he found Luca.
"LUCA! We've been looking for you, man!" He exclaimed.
"Shh! Please don't tell them I'm here! If they send me out, I'll get clobbered!"
Harold nodded, feeling sympathetic. He understood how it felt to feel like a loser… all the time, but he still tried anyway. He acted like he could do stuff so people wouldn't assume he was vulnerable and an easy target.
He wanted to tell Luca this, but there wasn't time. Duncan was probably already killing his teammates and they had a game to win! He popped out from under the bleachers and joined his teammates. Eva was lecturing Duncan on why he should help. And Courtney was backing her up.
Eva poked Duncan in the chest and growled, "I'll tell you why you should help, because if you don't I'll see to it that you're sent home, buddy!"
Duncan backed up, looking disconcerted, rubbing his chest before sighing, "Fine. But we'll play my way!"
"That's absolutely fine seeing as we need a new strategy anyway," Courtney said.
"Okay, it's called Rush the New Guy! Even people like Camilo won't see it coming. We all aim for the same target. They can't dodge all the balls."
Jaedan giggled, but he was ignored this time.
"Wait, I think that's what they did to Eva and then us," Katie said. "They all aimed for her."
"Really now?" Duncan raised his brow and looked over at the Gophers. "Well, played. Wonder who knew that strategy as well."
Courtney shrugged. "Probably Heather or Sophia, but anyways, are we sure it'll work. If they're using the same strategy?"
"We'll just have to try to find out," Harold said.
"Right, let's go team!" Geoff cheered as did the rest of them. "Gooooo Bass!"
Eva, Katie, Courtney, Duncan and Geoff entered the court. On the other side was Camilo, Owen, Leshawna, Izzy and Justin, all smirking determinedly but a little surprised at Duncan's appearance as well as a bit worried that Eva was there as well. The Bass' two strongest players on at the same time.
Justin and Leshawna threw their balls when the round started as they aimed for Eva, who ducked, anticipating it this time. The balls bounced off the glass wall and Katie caught them tossing them to Courtney and Duncan. Once Eva and Geoff had also grabbed balls they all aimed for Owen and the giant blonde went down with a painful smack.
"LET'S GO!" Jaeden chanted from the sidelines. "Let's go Bass! Let's go!"
The Bass congratulated each other. Geoff and Eva exchanged a high-five and Courtney and Katie hugged. Duncan nodded in silent approval of his team's efforts.
Everyone aimed for their next targets very fast since they were using the same strategy. Leshawna and Izzy went down and finally it was just Camilo-Eva.
Eva watched herself throw many balls Katie's way and he managed to take her out. He dodged the balls from Courtney and Duncan and took out Geoff.
Eva ducked and grabbed three balls, lobbing them at Camilo-Eva and he went out.
Courtney and Duncan high-fived her and then high-fived each other.
Noah looked up from his book and said, "C'mon, a little effort people!" He winced when everyone glared at him. "What? My strategy didn't work?"
"No, it sucked!" Leshawna snapped, still sour on what the Bookworm had said.
"You guys aren't smart enough to use it, I suppose. Wasted."
Sophia and Gwen gave each other exasperated looks. Did this guy not know he was digging a hole for himself?
"They're using the same strategy!" Beth sighed. "That's why."
"Yeah, they didn't expect it at first," Cody said. "Then suddenly Duncan came on and they did it too."
"Of course, he knows that strategy," Noah muttered.
"How do you know it?" Beth asked.
Noah didn't answer.
Justin was still lying on the court ground, crying a little that he'd been hit in the face. Camilo snickered.
"Camilo, Izzy! They're clobbering us!" Sophia exclaimed, grabbing the Shapeshifter's shoulders and shaking him frantically. "We're going down!"
"Now, now Sophia, it isn't over yet," Izzy patted her shoulder consolingly.
The Bass were feeling joyous. "We should do the same thing over and over again! That's the best strategy I've ever seen!" Courtney squealed happily and Duncan looked proud.
"Good one," Eva said, punching his shoulder. "Harold, sit this one out," she added to the ginger.
"But I sat the last one out," he whined.
"It's for the good of the team," Duncan added and Geoff patted his shoulder sympathetically.
"Whatever, not that Noah here cares much, but we have to FOCUS! We are not losing another game to these losers, got it?" Heather was lecturing the team.
Sophia had fallen asleep again, Noah was reading, and Justin was still moaning about his beautiful face.
"Um, I dunno," Camilo shrugged. "They care more for books and looks."
Heather nodded in agreement surprisingly. "I know. You and I are the only good players. And Leshawna, I guess."
"HEY?!" Half the team, minus Gwen and Noah, who didn't care, shouted.
"And Sophia when she participates," Heather added quickly as if that would assuage any tension among them.
Izzy was glaring at Heather, but for a totally different reason of her calling her a bad player at the game.
"Uh, thanks," Camilo shrugged. "So what should we do?"
"We need all players on deck," Leshawna said.
"Where the hell is Lindsay then?" Gwen asked.
Heather rolled her eyes. "I'll find Lindsiot. Just wait."
"Don't call her that!" Cody protested.
"Can it, wannabe ladies' man!"
"No, for real, chill," Sophia snapped. Lindsay's stupidity annoyed her too, but she didn't point it out behind her back.
"Fine. Whatever."
Heather left.
She found her alright under the dock talking and holding hands with Tyler. She had seen them go off earlier, but had been too busy to do anything right away. Either way she gasped in rage. Lindsay noticed and gasped herself, drawing Tyler's attention.
"What did I say about boyfriends?" Heather yelled.
"I'm sorry," Lindsay wailed. "It's just… he's too cute. And he's nice."
"Yeah, why don't you just chill out, we're not hurting anyone!" Tyler yelled, defensively.
"Well, I'm gonna hurt you!" Heather snapped and literally threw a canoe onto the Jock. He was now stuck in it somehow.
"Ow…" He whimpered.
Heather returned with a sad Lindsay in tow only to see her team still getting clobbered. "How are we doing?" She asked the obvious anyway, hoping this just wasn't their round.
"Sports. Not my Forte, remember?" Noah mumbled.
"You know, you could at least pretend to care!" Heather snapped as Leshawna, the last player, got ambushed.
"Where were you?" Courtney snapped at Tyler.
"Nowhere!" He rubbed his aching shoulders, avoiding her accusing gaze.
"You were with that blonde Gopher girl, weren't you?"
"No… maybe…"
"She could've been getting you to spill all our team's secrets and weaknesses." Courtney looked at Lindsay, who was… talking with her hands. "Or not… but still…"
Chef blew the whistle now that the round was over, grabbing their attention.
"This is it," Chris said, "the final tie-breaking game!"
"Go team, go!" Noah said blandly from his side, pretending to care as Heather had said.
"Okay, I'm about to finish this game. Who's joining me?" Eva asked, punching her fist, determined.
"It's my turn, isn't it?" Harold rasped.
"Not when we have the chance to win this, you aren't!" Courtney said and Harold nodded glumly, sitting down. Courtney tried not to feel bad for discouraging him. But it was for the good of the team.
The round started and Gwen grabbed a ball and tossed it to Cody, who ran with it, dodging Eva's balls from the other side. Heather yelled orders.
"Get her as she's coming in!" Heather yelled, pointing at Sadie, who walked in when Bridgette was hit out. Beth heeded her order and threw Sadie out.
"Aw," she whined and left off the court.
Izzy threw at Jaeden, who dodged and threw his own ball, knocking Cody out of the game.
It seemed neither team had a certain strategy now. They just played normally and no one would know the outcome.
Because even though Eva and Duncan were good, they faced a Shapeshifter, who could mirror their skills. And even though Owen was a shield, the Bass shielded their best players. And even if Cody was slippery and fast, Tyler was fast too. And he slipped. And fell on the ground unintentionally dodging balls.
The game continued for a while, people running on and off the court, balls thrown viciously and insults rang through the air. Noah continued blandly cheering until he was hit in the face with a ball.
"You're right, sports aren't your forte," Heather cracked as their teammates also sitting out currently, snickered with glee.
"Get her!" Heather yelled at Lindsay, pointing at Sadie, who walked on. Lindsay threw it, but hit Harold, who sat on the bleachers, instead. Justin managed to get Sadie out.
"Oh, c'mon!" She yelled in frustration and stomped back to the bleachers where
Katie comforted her as Jaeden went in.
Soon he came and exchanged spots with Ezekiel who then came to give Harold a chance.
"Back of the floor, princess," Duncan muttered and he slouched behind the line.
Sophia hit Courtney in the face, muttering, that's for the oatmeal, bitch!"
"Oh-ho ho! You just messed with the wrong white girl!" Leshawna laughed as Sophia high-fived Gwen beside her.
Geoff ducked then got hit, Leshawna got it in the face and Duncan was hit three times before he fell to the ground in a daze. Cody jumped in front of his teammates and literally took one for the team, slouching off the court as he clutched his crotch. Jaeden and Sophia exchanged glares before they somehow hit each other out. Harold was slammed to the ground too.
Now it was Eva against Gwen, Owen and surprisingly Justin.
Eva slowly picked up a ball as they all got their own. Owen threw first. She dodged. She grabbed the other ball and launched both downwards, not wanting to risk him catching them.
"Oh, cheese crackers, that hurts!" Owen squeaked as he fell down, clutching his crotch.
"Whoops." Eva shrugged. Gwen and Justin took her distracted moment and threw their balls at her. She dodged Justin's bad aimed one and caught Gwen's surefire one.
As Gwen walked off, Justin didn't have the chance to look at Eva as she threw the ball and it slammed into the side of his face throwing him a few inches back where he slammed against the glass wall.
A moment of silence.
Then…
The Bass all burst out cheering. They ran onto the court patting Eva's back and congratulating her.
"Fellow athlete, I salute you!" Tyler said.
"Great going, Eva!" Courtney added.
"Nicely done," Duncan agreed. "Poor pretty boy's never gonna live it down with his ugly bruised face."
The Bass all crowded out of the court, still cheering and joking around. Luca appeared from his hiding spot, eyes wide.
"We won? WE WON! I WON'T BE GOING HOME TODAY!" Luca cheered, running after his team and the Gophers gaped after him before looking at Chris who walked over.
"Gophers, what happened?" He asked.
"What can I say? Weak effort," Noah shrugged. Yeah, he was digging a deep grave, alright.
"Oh, shut the hell up, Noah!" Gwen snapped and stormed off, Sophia following.
"Y'know, for once I agree with her," Heather snapped and left, the rest of the girls following.
"What?" Noah asked as the boys glared at him. "I'll tell ya the team effort is seriously lacking!"
(Confessional Cam)
Eva- Told you I could win it for us. Tyler barely did anything. Some Jock. They're all lucky to have me.
Luca-/jumping up and down/ WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!
Jaeden- Looks like we take the lead /smirks at the camera/ Sucks to be ya, Sophia!
Tyler- I rocked this challenge today! /He throws his limbs out in triumph and kicks the camera/ Whoops.
Duncan- /carving something onto the side with his knife/ Ya know, maybe my team isn't all that loser-ish.
Courtney- Our team is still bad, but… Hey, we won today. /shrugs and smiles, satisfied/
Harold- One day, I'll prove my mad skills are real. I didn't go to all those camps for nothing, ya know.
Geoff- Dude, am I a motivator or what? All our team needed was some positivity and DRIVE! WHOO!
Ezekiel- I guess we didn't need DJ, eh. /he hangs his head/ Oh, I regret it so bad, still. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the butt, eh.
It took a while to pry Izzy off of Camilo but when Sophia did get the other redhead to stop following the boy around she dragged him to a secluded area.
"I have to tell you something important."
She quietly told him all about Heather's secret alliance she had formed during the Awakeathon, how she had convinced the others to unfairly vote off Trent and how they were possibly planning more unfair eliminations and other horrible stuff.
"What do we do?" Camilo asked, wide-eyed and Sophia felt grateful to have a friend like him, ready to immediately jump into action.
"I have an idea. But we're gonna need a tech geek."
She left and then came back with Cody. The brunette looked between the two confused. "Um, what's up?" He asked curiously.
"Can you hack?"
Cody blinked at her a couple of times.
It was completely nighttime now and Camilo sat on his stump, having accomplished the mission. Hopefully all would turn out well. After all, he had never been a part of a plan where so many things could go wrong. But it worked!
"Campers, you have all cast your votes. One of you is going home. And you can never come back! Ever!" Chris said. "When you hear your name, come pick up your marshmallow."
"Owen."
The large blonde rushed up to get his marshmallow, immediately swallowing it.

"Gwen." The Goth calmly got hers, acting like it didn't mean much to her.

"Cody." Cody looked at Camilo and nodded nervously before going to get his marshmallow.

"Camilo." Camilo high-fived Sophia before going up, ignoring Justin's glare, fearing someone would find out.

"Heather." The Queen Bee tossed her hair and strutted up to Chris like she owned the place.

"Sophia." The redhead pumped her fist before getting to her feet.

"Lindsay." The blonde raised her hand, saying, "here!" Chris rolled his eyes and just threw a marshmallow at her.
It was Noah and Beth. Beth was quivering nervously and Noah was smirking confidently. Camilo rolled his eyes.
Literally, if it weren't for the plan…
"The final marshmallow of the night goes to…"

"Noah."
The Bookworm strutted up amongst gasps of shocks and Beth's shoulders sagged before she finally got up and departed. "So much… for sticking around longer…" They heard her mumble.
Heather was looking furious as Lindsay raced after her friend. She whirled around and glared at the team.
"I thought we had come to an agreement!" Heather snapped. "We were supposed to vote off-" she stopped talking when she remembered who was still here. "Whatever," she scoffed and left.
"But… I did!" Leshawna stammered. "Not that I'd ever listen to you, but I agreed for once, Noah was a jackass."
"Thanks," the Bookworm scoffed.
"You know it's true," Justin sniffed and strutted away. Noah flipped him off behind his back.
"I'm gonna find out who did this!" Heather yelled, storming off after the model and the rest of the team followed, except three.
"Do you think they'll find out?" Cody asked, nervously, moving closer to Sophia and Camilo.
"If they do, they won't do anything. Heather and Izzy have a crush on you after all. And I bet Heather would admire your deviousness," Sophia said, matter-of-factly to Camilo.
Cody turned on Camilo with wide eyes. "Two girls? Whoa, lucky!"
"Heather?" Camilo questioned. "I knew about Izzy, she makes it obvious, but Heather?"
"Yeah, she's just showing it in her defensive, cold way or something."
"How do you know?" Cody asked.
"Because girls know when someone has a crush, unlike guys," Sophia blew a lock of red hair out of her eyes.
"Oooohh," both boys said.
She rolled her eyes and said, "C'mon." They headed back to their cabin.
(Voting Confessional)
Beth- I vote Noah.
Cody- /winks at camera/ Noah.
Gwen- Noah. Sure he gave us that good strategy to take out Eva, but it wasn't enough. Just like his "efforts."
Heather- Noah, as we all discussed.
Izzy- Izzy wants to vote Leshawna… /she takes a deep breath to contain her anger/ but Izzy has gotta go with the team like a team player. For now. Sorry, Noah.
Justin- Noah, even though I'd rather it be Camilo. Noah barely helped and I guess… /he sighs grudgingly/ he did get us most of the wins with his shape-shifting tricks.
Leshawna- Noah, even though I'd rather it be Izzy. What. Did. I. Do. To. Her? /sighs in annoyance/
Lindsay- Heather says Nolan has gotta go now. Whoever that is.
Owen- Noah. Sorry little buddy, but you didn't help much today and you were kinda being annoying.
Sophia- Noah. If only…
Camilo- Sorry, Noah. /coughs something that sounds like the word 'not'/
Noah- I vote Heather. She kept interrupting my reading time today.
Noah- 11
Heather- 1
Fake votes all went to Beth.
I changed it from Harold winning for the team to Eva. Just felt unrealistic when she's actually around to have someone else win it.
Hmm... I wonder what those three are up to...
