Camilo woke up early the day of the next challenge. He went to the bathroom where he had a peaceful, undisturbed shower before he changed and then wandered around the grounds, wondering what to do before breakfast.
Thinking of breakfast gave him the idea and he raced to the kitchen. He skidded to a halt halfway there. Chef probably wouldn't have good food there and if he did it would most likely be expired. Overly expired.
He turned into Chris and ran to Chris' quarters. He found his kitchen and rummaged everywhere around the kitchen. He grabbed pancake mix, blueberries, bacon, and eggs.
Once in the Main Lodge he turned into Chef and started making the real, edible breakfast, waiting for the others to wake up.
"Okay, this is so way beyond bad," Lindsay whined, waking the only other inhabitants of the room left. Sophia propped herself up and stared across the room at the blonde while Gwen turned around slightly. "I'm outta fake tanner already!"
"Woah, that's tragic, Lindsay!" Sophia and Gwen muttered, sarcastically at the same time.
"Are you psychic?"
"No, I was gonna say it first."
The two shook their heads, laughing a bit when Lindsay's whining voice interrupted again. "You guys, don't you understand? Now I have to actually suntan in the real sun!"
"That's good, Lindsay. Everyone needs Vitamin D," Sophia said, rolling her eyes.
"Vitamin? What's that?"
Sophia didn't bother to answer and suddenly Leshawna ran in with a plate of pancakes. "GUYS! CHEF MADE ACTUAL FOOD FOR ONCE!"
The three girls sat up in shock.
"Is there anything inside or is it expired?" Gwen asked. Leshawna took a pancake and handed it to the Goth, who tentatively tried it. She threw one at Sophia too.
"The only thing I taste inside are blueberries!" She exclaimed in shock.
"Ooo, I love blueberry pancakes!" Lindsay squealed.
"He also made bacon and eggs! C'mon before Owen finishes it all!"
With that Leshawna bolted back to the Main Lodge. The three girls scrambled around to get clothes on and raced to the Main Lodge.
"Isn't it weird that Chef is acting like he knows how to cook suddenly?" Luca asked Jaeden as they stood in line, waiting to get pancakes and eggs.
"Maybe something special is happening today. Remember they gave us real food before the Awakeathon?"
"Only to make it harder," Luca grumbled.
"I dunno, but let's not complain and enjoy it while we can," Jaeden chided the younger boy.
When they got to the front, Chef smirked and they suddenly felt nervous, but then the man leaned forward and whispered, "guys, it's me. Camilo."
Jaeden and Luca gaped at each other and then gaped at him. Gaped at each other and then gaped at him.
"No way," Luca whispered back. "Camilo?"
"Yeah, now shut up and take your food." He handed them two plates stacked with blueberry pancakes and eggs and bacon.
The two boys sat down alone at the end of the Killer Bass table and for once they had a nice breakfast.
"Um, Chris?"
"Yes?"
"I woke up late and still haven't made breakfast and it's already almost nine."
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah, sorry about that."
"Chef, the challenge is starting soon and you haven't fed the kids?"
"That's what I said, Pretty Boy!"
"If the kids try to attack me because they're Hangry, I'll take your check this week!"
Chef scoffed and left the tent.
Chris, meanwhile, checked the cameras to see how the kids were doing and when he tapped into the Main Lodge camera he stared in shock.
"Well, well, well," Chris said, smirking, getting over his shock. "Looks like it was a good idea to get you on this show after all, Camilo. Putting your powers to good use. Very nice."
"I knew it was too good to be Chef!" Leshawna exclaimed as Camilo turned back into himself after making sure everyone was fed.
"Yep," he smiled, sitting down with his own plate. Owen had finished up his food and was at the counter, devouring the rest of the extra food he had made.
"Looks like no one will starve today," Sophia added from her seat in between Noah and Cody. The Gophers had quickly gotten over their shock and anger and treated the Bookworm just as normally as they had on day one as if nothing had happened.
Which was good for three certain Gophers.
Suddenly, the Loudspeaker crackled to life and Chris' voice blared out of it saying, "alright, campers! Finish up breakfast and meet me at the outdoor theater! It's time to show us what you're made of!"
"Pretty obvious what the challenge is today," Jaeden said to Luca. "Probably acting or whatever."
"I can do that!" Luca exclaimed in relief. "Maybe I can make up for not helping the last challenge and they'll keep me on longer."
"You've gotta be braver about stuff, dude," Jaeden said, patting his back. "Try stuff first before you hide."
"The dodgeball game looked brutal from where I was watching! People were being slammed into the glass so much, I'm surprised it didn't break!"
"See that worryful questioning will get you nowhere. Besides, danger is fun! You have no idea what you're missing out on!"
"What? Getting my bones shattered? I'll pass."
Jaeden sighed. He needed to find a way for Luca to let loose and be wild, not worry about the consequences.
"Let's go see our challenge for today," he said, standing up and putting his plate away before he and his team made their way to the theater outside.
"Are we gonna see a musical? I love musicals, especially the ones with singing and dancing!" Lindsay squealed from where she sat between Heather and Izzy.
Camilo and Gwen arrived last and while Camilo sat on Heather's side at the end, to her surprise, Gwen sat by Cody, Leshawna, and Sophia.
Lindsay blew a kiss to Tyler, who caught it and winked at her. Heather glared at her and smacked her face with her hair. She saw Camilo smirk at her for whatever stupid reason and turned her face away from him, sharply, causing her hair to smack his face as well.
"Welcome to our brand new deluxe state of the art outdoor theater," Chris started talking and everyone quieted down, "the challenge today is a summer camp favorite! A talent contest!"
"Knew it," Jaeden and Sophia said, simultaneously.
"Yes, awesome!" Owen jumped to his feet and pointed excitedly at Chris.
"Each team will have eight hours to pick their three most talented team members," Chris continued. "These three will represent them in the show tonight. Anything goes as long as it's legal." Chris looked sternly at Duncan as he said this and the delinquent snapped his fingers in disappointment. "You'll be judged by Grand Master Chef."
"Wonderful," Leshawna muttered. "Man's as critical as his food is bad."
"The team that loses will send one camper home tonight," Chris said, walking away. "Good luck," he added over his shoulder.
"Alright, where shall we begin?" Camilo asked.
Heather had her hair up in a ponytail, a whistle and a clipboard, ready to rally her team who were being chaotic all over the steps of the porch.
Camilo was shape-shifting all over the place so that he was always part of someone at the same time, Leshawna was showing Lindsay magic tricks, Noah was reading of course, and Izzy was doing several dangerous acrobatics across the porch railing.
Heather blew the whistle and got their attention. "Alright, listen up! I'm the Captain of this team! So here's how it's gonna go-"
"Who said you were Captain?" Gwen asked, clutching some kind of journal in her hand.
"Honestly," Sophia agreed.
"She did! Just now!" Lindsay said.
"Okay, so what? S'long as we have a Captain," Camilo shrugged nonchalantly, ignoring the odd looks of Cody and Sophia.
"There, you see? I also have Lindsay's vote," Heather said, satisfied. Gwen glared at Camilo, but he ignored it.
"Oh, uh, yeah, I vote for you, too," Sophia said, catching on.
"Uh, me too!" Cody added quickly going with what his alliance mates said. Gwen shot him a look of betrayal but sat down with a sigh anyway and Cody quickly whispered reassurance to her.
"Alright, Lindsay, Camilo, and myself will be the judges," Heather said and Lindsay squealed with glee while Camilo shrugged and said, "whatever."
"Okay, so everyone has to audition no matter how horrible you are," Heather demanded. "Who's up first?"
The Bass were doing a similar thing where everyone had to audition and they'd pick the best three out of them all. Katie and Sadie went first and did some weird dance to horrible music. When they both landed in the splits the music had finished.
Everyone on the team gaped except for Luca and Ezekiel, who politely clapped. Bridgette cringed, Courtney face-palmed and Jaeden looked like he was trying not to laugh.
Looking sick, Eva muttered, "okay, um, who's going next?" While Courtney immediately crossed the two girls' names off the list.
Owen chugged a whole liter of soda as everyone watched, waiting for what he would do. Sophia was sitting in between Cody and Gwen, Leshawna and Camilo were leaning against the railing and everyone else sat on the steps. Noah hadn't looked up once from his book at all.
"So if you guys auditioned, what would you do?" Sophia asked.
"Magic," Leshawna said.
"I'd play my keyboard," Cody said.
"I have no idea," Gwen said.
Heather turned when Owen finished chugging and watched in horror and disgust as the big blonde teenager started burping the alphabet.
"Y and Zeeddd!" Owen finished off with a loud belch. Sophia fell to the ground laughing as all the boys cheered.
Camilo slid over and high-fived Owen. "That was awesome, man!"
"You're not doing that! That's gross!" Heather snapped.
"Well, since I'm one of the judges I vote for him!" Camilo retorted. By now he and Heather were nose to nose, practically seething. Well, just Heather.
They stared each other down as everyone held their breath. Then, Camilo had the nerve to smirk at her.
"Um, guys?" Cody spoke up. "We all still need to audition per our agreement between us all."
"FINE!" Heather shrieked, making some people jump. "But you still don't have my vote Owen! All the judges have to agree!"
"Okay, but maybe my farting Beethoven the Fifth might change your mind," he said, bending over and sticking his rump out.
"NO!" Everyone screeched in disgust this time.
Gwen got up and left.
"Where are you going?" Heather snapped.
"Anywhere you aren't!" Gwen called over her shoulder as she departed.
Tyler went next. He did many tricks with a yo-yo and the whole time the only ones who were really supportive of everything were Ezekiel and Luca.
Suddenly, the yo-yo wrapped around Tyler's finger then his whole body somehow and he was tied up with no use of his arms.
"That was horrible," Chris commented casually as he strode by.
Courtney face-palmed yet again while Eva sneered at Tyler. Ezekiel began clapping, politely until Duncan told him to shut up.
Cody played his keyboard, Noah read Shakespeare and Camilo did an Impression Act of everyone which his team found hilarious. Especially, when he made fun of Heather while being the Queen Bee.
Heather glowered at him afterwards.
"Okay, Lindsay, you're up next! What can you do?" Heather asked.
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…."
"We'll get back to you. Sophia?"
"Do I have to?"
"Just do something!" Heather hissed.
Sophia shrugged and hit 'play' on the boombox Owen had brought. The radio was playing the song 'Milkshake' Sophia started doing a crazy dance to it.
Camilo laughed while everyone else gaped in horror or amusement. Leshawna jumped up and joined the redhead, shaking her behind and the boys gaped.
Just as Izzy jumped up to join, Heather threw her whistle at the boombox and it hit the turn off button.
"Nope, nope, nope!" Heather said, "NEXT!"
Cody was looking down at his lap, giggling into his hands while everyone else still gaped.
Duncan carved his own skull out of wood with his pocket knife, Eva did some Power Act thing, Geoff did skateboard tricks, Courtney her violin and Bridgette did a handstand for twenty minutes.
"Alright, you four boys are left. Show us what you got," Courtney ordered. Luca and Ezekiel exchanged uncertain looks while Jaeden sighed and went to get his bike.
Harold meanwhile opened his mouth but Courtney interrupted.
"NEXT!"
"Wow."
"Okay everyone take five."
Heather had finished a ballet routine and Leshawna had just shown some basic magic tricks and Lindsay was still trying to think of what she could do. Izzy didn't want to audition yet and Gwen was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Justin had just sat there looking pretty.
Once everyone had dispersed Heather grabbed Lindsay.
"Lindsay, I need you to do something important, you can keep a secret, right?"
"Oh, totally!" Lindsay said and proceeded to tell her and the world on National Television about the time her sister got diarrhea and how she had to rescue her. "And I've never told a soul!" Lindsay paused, realized the cameras were fixed on her and got a sheepish smile as she waved nervously at the nearest one. "Whoops, sorry Paula."
Heather rolled her eyes and shoved a walkie-talkie into Lindsay's hand saying, "I want you to spy on Gwen and gather info on her."
She shoved Lindsay away, smirking. It was time to plant the next person to go home. If they lost that is. She wasn't one to throw a challenge on purpose.
Little did she know, Cody had hidden on the side of the cabin and had heard everything. He slowly backed away before turning and bolting to find Sophia and Camilo.
"I call this the Rail Flip!" Jaeden was balancing on the Killer Bass' cabin railing and mounted his bike, taking his time to balance it as well. Once he was fully balanced he backflipped off the railing with his bike and landed perfectly upright.
"Wow!"
"That's actually pretty cool!"
"Awesome!"
Jaeden suddenly climbed the roof and rode down it and did a triple flip in midair before landing in the lake nearby.
"That was totally part of the act," he spluttered as he dragged himself and his bike out, soaking wet.
His team clapped and Courtney said, "we have a possible right here! Alright, who's next? Ezekiel, Luca? You two are the last ones to audition."
"And then we can decide the final three," Eva added.
Luca and Ezekiel exchanged nervous glances, the prairie boy tapped his fingers nervously while Luca chewed on his.
Finally he stood up and pulled out one of his magical shells he'd brought with him. It was a talent all sea monsters practiced yet he still needed to practice.
Maybe he could try?
"Serious? Yeah, seriously boring!" Lindsay muttered, clinging to the branch as she watched Gwen through binoculars, the Goth writing in a book.
She then switched her focus to Tyler, shuffling past, tied up in yo-yo strings and focused on his butt.
"Ooo, that's not boring!" She squealed. She slowly slid down the tree, falling all the way down that is, then picked herself up wincing.
She snuck up to the Jock. "Hey, Taylor!" The boy jumped and almost fell as he had no balance right now.
He smiled upon seeing Lindsay. "Oh, hey babe. What's up?"
"Well, the sky is above us… anyway my team is taking a break, so… why don't we hang out since Heather isn't around?"
Tyler smirked. "What did you have in mind?"
"Okay, what's the mission?" Camilo asked, looking at Sophia. Cody had just reported what he'd overheard to them.
"Cody, go talk to Gwen," she immediately ordered.
"Why?"
"Well, you can see what's up with her… keep watch, ya know, the usual ladies' man stuff you say." Cody blushed, but nodded. "Do either of you two know why Heather wants Gwen to be watched?"
"I dunno, but it can't be good, right?" Camilo asked with a shrug.
"Right. Cody, just act casual, but keep an eye out. Camilo, you do you. Here take these."
She handed them each an earpiece.
"Way more subtle than a walkie, hehe," Cody chuckled.
"I know I'm awesome," Sophia shrugged and Camilo nudged her playfully before they separated.
Luca took a deep breath as he was about to drop the shell when Duncan interrupted with an incredulous scoff.
"What're you gonna do? Show us how to collect seashells?"
Bridgette gave him a reprimanding look and said, "let him try at least, dummy, you never know."
Luca tried to regain his confidence back again, but with all the eyes on him he wilted. Suddenly, he caught Harold's eye, who mouthed, 'You got this.' Then he caught Jaeden's eye, who gave him a reassuring nod and Ezekiel out of the corner of his eye gave him a thumbs-up.
He threw the magical shell down on the ground and suddenly bubbles of water flooded up into the sky. The others' eyes widened.
More water burst through the ground like a river, clear and as blue as the ocean because well, the shell brought the ocean to wherever a sea monster was.
His feet became scaly as the water rushed over them and Luca willed the water to follow his command in his mind. It worked. The water lifted him up by the waist so that his lower body was sea monster form.
He caught some of the bubbles in his mouth and he spit them out before he leaned forward. The water shot him forward so he could catch the water he'd spit out in his mouth again.
He did many more tricks like this and then made the water balloon suck him in so that it rocketed him out when it shot upwards. He was now a full sea monster from head-to-toe. He landed on the cabin roof and the water splashed all over, covering the roof with sea coral and other plants.
He willed it to make a wave in midair and he swam through the wavy stream all around the campgrounds like he was on a waterslide. He hopped over trees and ducked under benches and finally he did a flip and landed perfectly back in front of his team, the water splashing all around him and disappearing into the ground.
Luca held his hands up and bowed before shaking himself dry and back in human form.
When he dared to look at his teammates' reactions he was surprised to see them staring wide-eyed in awe as if they'd just seen a magic show. Ezekiel, Harold and Jaeden were clapping and whistling and cheering loudly.
"Lindsay! Lindsay, come in!"
Lindsay and Tyler paused in their make out session. The Jock handed her the walkie, whispering, voice kind of raspy, "here you go, Linds."
"This is Lindsay, over!" She quickly stammered.
"What did you find out? Just report back to me now!" Heather snapped on the other end.
"Uh, I'm on my way, under!"
"What?"
"Nothing!"
"Just hurry up!"
Lindsay turned the walkie off and looked at Tyler. They were both now tangled in the yo-yo strings, on the sink counters where they had been smooching.
"Well, this is a problem," Tyler finally said.
"We'll need help," Lindsay said.
"I don't think that's–"
Suddenly, Geoff walked in. He slowly blinked at them then pointed at the door. "Should I…?" He slowly backed away, looking like he was trying not to laugh.
"Could you get us some scissors, dude?" Tyler asked, neither of them embarrassed.
"Gotcha," the blonde party boy said, walking out. Once outside they heard him howling with laughter.
"At least it wasn't Heather," Lindsay said.
"That would be bad."
When Tyler finally returned from getting out of his predicament with Geoff in tow, Courtney had the final decided participants.
"Okay, so Luca, Tyler and Jaeden? Is everyone good with that?" Courtney asked, looking up from her clipboard.
"But Zeke hasn't performed yet," Harold said. "Listen, you don't wanna give me a chance, but at least give my dude here one!"
Courtney winced in guilt when she remembered dismissing Harold so suddenly. "Okay, fine. What do you have Ezekiel?"
"Um," Luca interrupted. "I just realized I can't perform."
"Why?" Courtney turned on him, eyebrows raised.
"Yeah, little dude, that was amazing!" Geoff said. Jaeden nodded in agreement, holding the handlebars of his bike.
Luca hung his head.
"Stage fright?" Eva asked, gruffly, not wanting to sound gentle, but Luca just shook his head, not wincing at her rough tone. He was kind of used to it now.
"I only brought one magical shell and you can only use them once, obviously. I only brought one because, well, honestly that was my first time perfecting the act. I only brought one because I was hoping if we ever had free time that I could practice it alone."
"Great…" Duncan muttered. "What now?"
"I can bullride!" Ezekiel suddenly exclaimed.
Everyone exchanged startled glances before Courtney said, "you can wait until tonight to do it on stage, right?"
Ezekiel nodded.
"Alright, then you don't have to audition and you're in!" She signed his name on and that was that.
Izzy turned on the boombox and some weird rattlesnake-like music played and that was exactly what she called the dance.
"This is the Dance… of… the Rattlesnake!" She started swaying her hips and for the second time that day the boys were speechless and they blatantly stared.
Except Camilo, who just watched her casually and in amusement.
Heather rolled her eyes at this and interrupted, "alright, who's left?"
"Lindsay and I," Justin spoke up. Sophia looked startled at hearing the model talk.
Just then as if summoned by her name being mentioned, Lindsay appeared.
"Ah, Lindsay, there you are!" Heather said and asked. "So are you ready to audition?"
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…."
Heather face-palmed and said through gritted teeth, "We'll come back to you… again!" And with that she stormed away.
"I guess that means we have a break?" Camilo wondered aloud.
Cody walked up to his friend and sat on the stump next to her, looking around warily. He then looked at Gwen, who was looking at him questioningly.
"What's up?" She finally asked.
"Oh, nothing, you?" He asked, giving her a sly grin.
Gwen rolled her eyes, but answered, "I'm fine. Just annoyed."
"Heather?"
"Who else?"
"Well, I'm here if you ever need to talk… or if you need a shoulder to cry on, I've got two."
This time Gwen did genuinely smile. At first, Cody's flirting had been annoying, but now it was kind of cute. Of course, she only saw him as a friend, but it was great to have many friends.
It made being on the same team as that rich witch somewhat better.
"Well…" Cody now kicked at the ground, looking shy. "I guess I'm gonna head back and see what's up!" He started walking away when he heard her follow and smiled.
"Wait up!" She caught up to him. "Let's hope no one set anything on fire," she chuckled.
Gwen and Cody arrived and sat with their teams on the benches not knowing what to do.
"Maybe you can demonstrate a magic trick, Leshawna," Gwen suggested to her friend kindly. When they arrived, Heather had decided she herself would be performing alongside Cody and Justin. Leshawna was promised as back up in case.
"What's the point?"
"In case."
"Alright, fine," Leshawna sighed and stood up. "Does anyone have a dollar?" She asked suddenly.
"Ooh, betting I see," Camilo said and pulled out a dollar.
"Not," Leshawna said and held the dollar up, narrowing her concentration onto it. "If I concentrate just right…." She started peeling off more dollars from it and had a pile of it around her feet.
Everyone cheered and Cody dived for the money, shoving it in his pockets. Sophia joined him.
"How'd you do that?" Gwen asked, shocked. "Oh, wait, you're just gonna tell me that a magician never reveals their secrets."
"Exactly." Leshawna winked.
"Okay, I'm going for a swim, Gwen said, getting up. "Wanna come?" She looked at Sophia and Cody.
"I'll come," Sophia agreed as did Cody, who scrambled up, pockets stuffed with money.
"Mind if I join?" Camilo asked. Gwen nodded and Izzy announced she was tagging along too, shooting Leshawna with a suspicious look as the group departed.
"Why does that crazy girl keep giving me weird, angry looks?" Leshawna muttered, picking up all the remaining money.
"Who knows," Justin shrugged as Lindsay had another conversation with her hands. She did that quite a lot.
When the Bass reached the theater they all went backstage, using this time to have the theater to themselves before the Gophers started coming along. Duncan and Jaeden started playing cards while Harold, Geoff and Tyler took up a bet with Bridgette to see if she could truly stand on her hands for twenty minutes.
Ezekiel had taken Luca to the farm to look for a good bull but the sea monster only stayed a good distance behind the fence as Ezekiel ran away from the bulls. Katie and Sadie were off somewhere else.
"Shouldn't you be practicing?" Courtney asked Jaeden, her hands on her hips as she gazed at her teammate somewhat sternly.
"He knows what he's doing, Princess!" Duncan snapped as he laid a card down.
"I didn't ask you," Courtney snapped.
"Maybe he's ready," Geoff said and then addressed Jaeden. "Are you ready, dude?"
"I was born ready!" Jaeden said, whipping off sunglasses that he'd pulled from out of nowhere.
Courtney rolled her eyes but left them alone anyway. She turned to see Bridgette's leg tangled up in a rope and a light fell breaking Geoff's skateboard and Tyler's yo-yo somehow.
"Wasn't Tyler the third pick?" Courtney ground out, her fingers squeezing the bridge of her nose in frustration. "And now Geoff's skateboard is broken so we don't have a good backup!"
"I'll be the third to make up for it!" Bridgette said, nervously, looking at the damage she'd caused.
"How did the yo-yo break though?" Harold asked.
"It doesn't matter!" Courtney practically screamed. "Okay, Bridgette, you're on!" With that she stormed away.
"Ooh, someone's feisty!" Duncan commented and he and Jaeden started snickering.
"Warn me when Gwen comes along," Heather ordered Lindsay.
"Got it," the blonde saluted.
Heather hurried inside the cabin and began looking all through Gwen's stuff and drawers. Surely she didn't bring the diary with her, right?
She continued looking, hoping to find it on time.
Camilo got out of the lake and ran towards the cabin, leaving his friends behind, looking bewildered. Crap, we forgot about the plan!
When he reached the cabins, he found Lindsay sitting there. "Hey, Camilo," she greeted casually and he greeted her back before racing into the girls' side.
As he did this he shapeshifted into Gwen in the process. Heather jumped when she saw the Goth and stopped rummaging through her stuff.
"Oh, uh, hey Gwen!" She stammered nervously.
"What're you doing?" Camilo heard Gwen's angry voice come out of his mouth.
"Just resting before the show," she snapped, gaining back her cold demeanor. "Are you always so paranoid?"
She started walking back outside and Camilo panicked for a moment when she said to Lindsay, "I thought I told you to keep watch! Why didn't you warn me like I said?"
"Huh?"
"Gwen almost caught me!" She lowered her voice but Camilo had moved to the door and heard her.
"Oh, uh, sorry. I must have not been paying attention," Lindsay apologized and Camilo let out a soft sigh in relief.
He burst out of the cabin, startling the two girls on the porch and raced back to the lake, turning back to himself, once out of Heather's line of sight.
Gwen, Sophia, Cody and Izzy were just walking back.
"Oh, there you are!" Sophia said upon seeing him.
"Yeah, Gwen, you might wanna hurry back to your cabin. I caught Heather snooping through your stuff."
"What? What were you doing in the girls-"
"Just go!" Gwen left and Sophia stepped up to Camilo's side. "She almost succeeded in her plan. Whatever it is."
"Well, let's get back to the cabins to change. The sun's setting."
They reached the cabins and noticed Leshawna arguing with Gwen. The Goth was still in her dripping bathing suit.
"Please, Gwen!" Leshawna pleaded. "I need an assistant!"
"I hate talent shows and I hate being the center of attention!" Gwen exclaimed in exasperation. She walked into the cabin afterwards.
Leshawna sighed in defeat and sat on the steps, looking down. Something Sophia had never seen before. Camilo looked at her and shrugged before heading to the boy's side to change.
Sophia walked up to Leshawna and sat down beside her. They sat in silence for a couple minutes.
Finally the redhead broke the silence. "So… what's up?"
"Heather wants me to go on tonight instead of her for some reason, I accepted, but I need an assistant for my magic show," she explained.
"Maybe Camilo will go on with you."
"I just wish my real friend would care more about friendship than her stage fright and plus every time I'm near that boy Izzy glares at me."
Sophia smirked. "Yeah, probably because-"
Just then, Camilo walked out in his normal clothes and passed them on the steps.
"Camilo! You've got seaweed tangled in your belt somehow," Sophia pointed out to him.
He tried looking to where she pointed the seaweed out. "Huh?"
"Here, I got it," Leshawna got up and walked up to him. She gripped the seaweed and started trying to untangle it. "It's stuck in your pocket somehow. I'm gonna have to reach in."
"Go ahead," Camilo shrugged and Leshawna reached in trying to pull it out. Izzy walked out of the girl's side just then and her eyes widened before her face grew angry.
"HEY! GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF HIS PANTS!" She bellowed and ran towards them. Heather and Lindsay, still on the porch stared in amazement while Sophia watched awkwardly.
"Oh, hell no!" Leshawna muttered and bolted, ripping the seaweed off as she went. Camilo stared after the two as Izzy chased Leshawna away.
"Uh, thanks, Leshawna."
"So are we all ready for tonight?" Heather asked.
"Lindsay hasn't auditioned yet," Justin randomly pointed out, walking outside. Heather seethed before turning on the blonde.
"Okay, can you do anything better than the three performing tonight in case we need to rethink!"
"Hey!" Justin protested but he was ignored.
"Hmm… I can paint my nails!" Lindsay finally said. Heather gaped at her for a moment before she turned and left.
Sophia decided to talk to Gwen and convince her to help Leshawna, leaving to do so. Justin and Lindsay exchanged glances before the model followed after Heather, who he believed went to the theater.
"It's all good, Luca!" Ezekiel panted as he strained to hold onto the bull. The two were at the farm. The angry animal kept colliding into things on purpose in order to throw Ezekiel off.
Luca was crouched on the ground, pulling at his hair in fear. If Ezekiel died it would be all because he didn't help!
Just then, the bull broke down the fence, jumped over Luca, and charged off towards the campgrounds with Ezekiel still on its back.
"Santa Mozzarella!" He cursed and ran after them.
Almost all the teens had gathered up backstage to get in last minute practice. Cody was tuning his keyboard, Jaeden was biking and Leshawna was gloomy as she did card tricks to Katie and Sadie's awe. Justin just stood there looking pretty.
Heather walked over to Bridgette and Courtney. "Breaking your teammates' belongings? Talk about sabotage for attention!"
"What're you talking about?" Bridgette snapped, angrily.
"You know exactly what I mean! And be careful with the chips. You don't wanna sink that surfboard."
Bridgette threw them in her face.
(Confessional Cam)
Heather- What a bunch of losers! It's so easy it's almost not fun- almost. But now… since I failed with Gwen, I can get the Bass to kick off another player if they lose, who could be holding their team together. And I don't mean Courtney. If we lose… well, I have a whole variety to pick from the people I hate on my team.
Ezekiel- What a day, eh!
Luca- /whimpering/ What a day!
Bridgette- Does Heather actually think I'd be jealous? I didn't break their stuff on purpose! I'm just clumsy! /she sighs/
Sophia- They really meant it when they called the show Total Drama.
"It's the TDI Talent Show!" Chris announced, stepping out onto the stage. It was night and everyone had gathered in the bleachers except for the performers, who were backstage.
Leshawna was wearing a typical top hat and cape that all magicians wear. Justin was shirtless and that was it from him. Cody had a hat and sunglasses on with an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt exposing his bare torso. Jaeden and Bridgette were the only ones with no change.
"Where the fuck are Ezekiel and Luca?" Courtney said to Eva, the two girls backstage with the performers.
"I dunno, haven't seen them since the afternoon when they left towards the barn," the Bodybuilder muttered.
"HEEELP! LUCA HELP ME, EH! I CHOSE THE WRONG BULL!" Ezekiel screamed from his ride as he clung on the animal's horns for dear life.
"THERE'S A RIGHT TYPE OF BULL?!" Luca screamed back as he stumbled to catch up. He tripped on an invisible root and went flying. He landed behind the prairie boy on top of the murderous bull and now they were both clinging on.
"Luca, we're probably gonna die!"
"I know! It was nice knowing you!"
"Ditto!"
"They'd better get here soon!" Courtney slammed her fist into the palm of her hand and growled. Even Eva backed away and she was the one people were afraid of.
"Okay first up! Justin for the Screaming Gophers!"
Everyone cheered and clapped while Noah, sitting next to Owen, pretended to blow his brains out. Camilo just leaned back not clapping. As usual Izzy and Heather sat on either side of him while Lindsay sat next to Heather. Sophia was next to Gwen in the front and near the end, still whispering to her, the Goth's face becoming more guilty at whatever she was saying.
Over on the Bass side, Duncan was carving something, looking bored, Geoff, Harold, and Tyler just sat, watching and Katie and Sadie were talking and squealing about Justin as the model came on stage. No one knew where Ezekiel and Luca were.
Justin began his act, posing for the cameras and smiling his shiny smile then he sat on a stool and dumped water over himself before doing a hair flip, drops of water dripping down his bare chest. Almost all the girls swooned and Noah gagged, especially when Owen started drooling.
Sophia was shaking with silent laughter at these reactions.
(Confessional Cam)
Owen- There are two syllables for hot. "Jus" and "Tin." Man, that guy is so hot I could just kiss him! /he pauses and looks at the camera, realizing what he just said/ Because he's a good teammate! Crap, why'd I say that?
Noah- What…
Sophia- Was…
Camilo- That?
Justin- /looking at himself in two mirrors/I am just gorgeous!
"Okay, I don't know what that was, but dang you've got some moves, dude!" Chris exclaimed, clapping as he walked out onto stage and up to Justin.
He scored full points which was nine bars. Chris let him bask for one point five seconds then shoved him out the way.
"Alright, now first up for the Bass, give it up for Stunts Darer, Jaeden!" The Bass clapped as the spotlight moved up from the stage to a long ramp attached to a hill nearby.
"Silver Ahoy!" Jaeden bellowed as he pushed off the ground and biked down the ramp. When he came to the end he rode off and over the stage. He twisted his bike around in midair before his feet slammed back down onto the pedals and flipped three times before he landed perfectly upright on the Bass bleachers, nearly killing Tyler in the process.
Everyone clapped and cheered even more than they did for Justin and Chef also gave him a nine which meant the teams were both tied for the first round.
"Alright, and the teams are tied! Next up for the Gophers is Cody!" The tech geek appeared on stage and set up his keyboard.
"Ladies, Codemeister is about to wow you all." And with that he started playing. Sophia shook her head, smiling while Katie and Sadie actually squealed at his words. Noah looked ready to bash his own head in.
In the end the Tech Geek scored a seven.
"That was pretty good, don't you think, Gwen?" Sophia asked her friend with raised eyebrows.
"Look, you wanna say something just say it!" The Goth snapped but Sophia wasn't deterred by her snappiness.
"Leshawna."
"I… can't."
"You sound like Luca."
"HEY!"
"Where is he anyway?"
"How do we stop this thing?" Luca screamed.
"I'm trying, eh!" Ezekiel screamed, pulling at the bull's horns. Apparently, their combined weight wasn't enough to assert their control over the bull.
"We're heading towards the theater!" Luca screamed, peering over Ezekiel's head. "I can see it in the distance!"
"Frrriiiccckkk!"
"Are you sure you've got this?" Courtney asked Bridgette as Chris called her on next.
The Surfer's stomach grumbled. "Oh, definitely!"
Courtney raised her eyebrows in disbelief and a little bit of worry.
Bridgette walked out on her hands, starting her twenty minutes right away. She let out a burp and began to feel nauseous.
"Uh, is that part of the act?" Sophia asked as Bridgette burped again.
Just then, the blonde vomited. Then she started vomiting on everyone else. "Headshot!" Jaeden cried from backstage as Bridgette's vomit hit Owen, Katie, Sadie, and Camilo. Katie threw up on Sadie's lap and Jaeden said in a deep voice, "double shot!"
"Would you shut up?" Courtney snapped at him.
"HEY!" Izzy bellowed at Bridgette as Camilo stared down at his ruana in disgust before he stood up to leave, saying, "I'm out."
Lindsay wasn't so subtle and yelled at Bridgette, who had slipped and landed in Tyler's arms, "HEY! PUKE ON YOUR OWN BOYFRIEND!"
"ON YOUR OWN WHAT, LINDSAY?" Heather bellowed back.
"Nothing! I didn't say boyfriend!"
Heather's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Clean up in aisles two, three, five, and six!" Chris called as he stepped through the puddles of vomit, holding his nose. "In the meantime we'll take a short break."
(Confessional Cam)
Bridgette- /face in her hands/ Oh, I'm so done for! I can't believe that happened. What am I gonna do?
Camilo- /mumbling curses in Spanish as he tries to wipe his ruana free of vomit/
Jaeden- /laughs/ That was funny as hell! /falls to the ground laughing more/
Heather- What did Lindsay mean by "boyfriend?" /she shakes her head/ Anyway, it's all set. Now to spread misinformation, which is my specialty.
Izzy- How dare she?
Gwen- And you wonder why I won't help Leshawna. /trails off guiltily/ But what are friends for…? Oh what the hell? Almost everyone's humiliated themselves so why not me? I'm going in! /she slams her fist in her palm/
"Welcome back to the TDI Talent Show!" Chris announced.
"We've been here the whole time!" Someone who sounded like Noah called from the audience. Naturally, Chris ignored them.
"So the Gophers have sixteen and the Bass are stuck at nine seeing as Chef gave the vomit shooting a zero. Up next… give it up for the Magician… Leshawna!"
Polite applause ensued.
Just as Leshawna was about to go out, Gwen came backstage, startling everyone there.
"Leshawna, wait!"
She turned around with raised eyebrows.
"Still need an assistant?"
She grinned broadly.
The two walked on stage and everyone looked surprised by Gwen's appearance, but Chris didn't seem to mind.
"Alright, let's see what they're made of!" Chris said and backed away, giving them the full stage.
"Good evening, everyone!" Leshawna's voice rang out confidently as she bowed and her tall hat fell off, flowers blooming out of it on a trail across the stage. Some people 'oohed' while some giggled at her mistake.
"Whoops," she leaned down and picked up the hat putting it back on. "I am Leshawna and joining me on stage today is my faithful assistant, Gwen."
Gwen tried to remain confident as all eyes burned into her.
"Watch this," Leshawna said. She took off her hat and started pulling out a bunch of unbelievable stuff. A rabbit, a case, a mini rocket. People started snickering in the audience and even Gwen smiled at her friend.
"Okay, wait it's here," Leshawna straightened up and put her hat back on. "Watch this."
Gwen stared in disgust, eyes wide as Leshawna started pulling out a colorful cloth from her mouth. More laughter from the audience.
Leshawna picked it up. "Try it on. It's a scarf I made." She tried to wrap it around Gwen, who quickly backed away.
"Ew! Don't put it on me! It has your saliva on it!" She said loudly. People started laughing again.
"Sorry, Gwen," Leshawna said, amicably. "Here's a peace offering." She pulled out a blue cloth and unfolded it to reveal a dove. "Be free!"
She threw it, only for it to fall back onto the stage with a 'thud.' Everyone in the audience gasped or in Duncan's case sniggered at the failure.
"Oh, oh shit," Sophia said, covering her mouth while Camilo, not wearing his ruana, laughed, hysterically.
"Poor bird," Bridgette murmured from the side, standing with Courtney, Cody, Eva, and Justin.
Leshawna and Gwen had moved closer so that they looked down at the dove, staring worriedly.
"Yeah. It's dead," Gwen deadpanned.
"I think I had it in my pocket a bit too long," Leshawna said a little hysterically.
Suddenly, they both jumped back as the dove fluttered up, apparently alright.
"Woah!"
"Did you see that?"
"Wicked!"
Murmurs of awe arose from the crowd. Then the bird went number two on Gwen and Leshawna and everyone burst out laughing as the two girls cringed.
"So much for no hard feelings!" Leshawna yelled at the sky as she pulled a cloth to wipe themselves off. The bird went again on her head and more laughs erupted from the audience as Leshawna glared at the sky, wiping her hair free of bird poop.
"Keep going," Gwen murmured excitedly. "We're doing great!"
DJ was on the ground laughing and Trent chuckled at his friends' act. Beth sat next to him smiling, wistfully.
"I wish we were still there to actually witness it up close," she sighed.
"Yeah," Trent sighed as well. "But aren't you mad at Camilo?"
"How could I be? He freed me from being Heather's pawn! I'm actually truly grateful!"
Trent nodded, accepting her words.
DJ meanwhile, was rolling around all over the hotel lobby ground, gaining many strange looks from the staff but he didn't care.
"Alright, for my last act," Leshawna said to the crowd. "I'm gonna bring Luca and Ezekiel here right now!"
The crowd began to murmur excitedly.
"Wait, they're helping with her act? But she's on the other team!" Courtney protested.
"I don't think they are," Cody murmured. "Gwen didn't want to help her at first so I'm sure she didn't have any assistance before."
Leshawna pulled a TV. A WHOLE TV from her hat and everyone clapped and cheered. She switched it on and it showed one of the cameras recording a trail through the woods.
The two missing boys came into sight, riding an angry bull, screaming in fear. Leshawna's eyes bulged but she shrugged.
"Alright, I'm gonna bring them right here in three… two… ONE!" She tapped the TV'S side three times as she counted and the bull with its riders burst through the screen and started charging around.
Everyone screamed and Duncan was practically jumping up and down in delight. The bull started, trying to buck the boys off again.
"And this is the final act for the Killer Bass, eh!" Ezekiel shouted to the audience. "Bull Riding!"
Luca was clinging to the Homeschool boy's waist, screaming about how he didn't want to die yet.
Leshawna and Gwen were at the edge of the stage now to avoid the bull when she turned to the crowd.
"And now to finish off both acts for both teams!" She pulled out a red cloth and waved it around. The bull charged so fast that the boys on its back fell off. Leshawna stood stubbornly in its way, red cloth spread open. Everyone screamed at her to get out of the way.
When the bull reached her she wrapped the cloth close together and the bull disappeared through it completely. She folded it up and casually put it back in her hat.
Dead silence.
Finally, everyone burst into thunderous applause and cheers.
Chris ran out onto the stage, looking impressed as the four kids bowed together, even if they were on different teams.
"Two crazy acts, two teams! Now that was unexpected! Now what does Grand Master Chef think about both acts?"
Two bars filled all the way up and the crowd cheered.
"He loved them both!"
The performers backstage flooded the four and congratulated them.
"That was so awesome!" Cody exclaimed and Justin nodded in agreement.
"You guys are crazy!" Eva said to Ezekiel and Luca.
"Yeah, you guys were awesome!" Courtney complimented which surprised the two.
"But it wasn't enough," Luca sighed sadly and pointed to the tallied points. The Gophers had twenty-five and the Bass eighteen.
"Oh, well, we tried," Courtney shrugged. "Still you guys did great! If it weren't for you we'd be stuck at nine!"
"I told you I could bullride, eh," Ezekiel said, proudly.
"You were practically out of control!" Eva joked.
"I didn't know Luca was joining your act," Courtney said.
Ezekiel and Luca exchanged smiles. "He wasn't. It's a longish story."
"The Screaming Gophers win!" Chris announced over the babble that had broken out. "Killer Bass, I'll see you tonight at the elimination ceremony!"
"Well, there's no time," Courtney sighed.
Katie was heading to the bathroom. She stopped outside, however, when she heard voices inside. One was barely talking like they didn't want to be overheard, but she could hear the other one loud and clear and she recognized it with horror.
"Sabotaged? No, stop talking! You don't know what you're talking about? It was an accident!"
A moment's pause and she heard the slightest of whispers, but still couldn't make it out. "No, I don't care! I'm not listening to you! Our team lost, so what?"
Another whisper.
"Well, it was either that or Tyler's screwup of a yo-yo routine, isn't it better?"
Without context, it sounded horrible to whoever heard outside. Katie didn't even know who she was talking to and why they were whispering.
All she knew was she had to tell the team they had a sabotager. One she never expected.
(Confessional Cam)
Heather- /smirks/ It's all set. I saw Katie about to go to the bathroom, so I snuck in and had a chit chat with a "sabotager."
Gwen- That wasn't so bad! It was actually really fun! Of course, Leshawna knows how to make people laugh.
Leshawna- Okay, that was scary! I didn't really practice the making animals disappear trick much, but hey, it worked, didn't it?
Ezekiel- That was amazing, eh! I think the four of us rocked that challenge!
Luca- Leshawna saved us! That was awesome! And hey, the bull riding was a teensy bit fun, I'll admit. But… never again!
Duncan- Guess the kid and Homeschool aren't lags after all. I guess we can keep them a while longer.
Jaeden- Looks like Luca's finally starting to be more daring and willing to step outside his zone. /Dusts himself off/ My work here is done.
Luca and Ezekiel stood with a couple of the others, who had already gotten their marshmallows. It had felt so good when he and Ezekiel had been the first two to get their marshmallows which means for once no one voted for him.
But then Katie had come to them with news… Luca glanced at Bridgette who still sat marshmallow-less with Tyler. Had it been true? Katie was kind of… Dramatic, but she never lied.
"Kudos to you all for a night of entertainment. Music, magic, barfing and drama!" Bridgette flushed in embarrassment at this mention.
"There is only one marshmallow left. Tyler, you are the most clumsiest person I've ever met."
Tyler hung his head in shame.
"But Bridgette you're even more clumsy than he is! You two being together on the same team any longer will kill your other team members off!"
Duncan glared at Tyler, surprisingly even after what they had heard. But Courtney looked disappointed about her friend and Eva was glaring at the blonde.
"So, the final marshmallow of the night goes to…"

"Tyler."
Tyler jumped up and grabbed his marshmallow, looking relieved. Bridgette got up and slowly and sadly walked down the dock. Her teammates offered her sad goodbyes but she was numb to them.
Courtney ran after her. She grabbed the Surfer's shoulder and whispered, "be honest. Did you really do what Katie said you did?"
"Sabotage the team? No! Do I look like I would?"
"You're right. That's something Heather would do, it seems," the CIT said, immediately believing her friend, which she was grateful for when…
"Heather! She came up to me in the bathroom and kept annoying me and taunting me, asking why I would make my team lose like that and how I should have given Tyler a chance, but his yo-yo…"
As Bridgette paused to take a deep breath and calm down, Courtney gaped.
"Wait, Heather talked to you? Why would she–"
Then Chef came along and dragged her friend away to the boat and drove it away. All Courtney could do now was wave bye. She headed back to her teammates.
"Man, now I feel bad," Jaeden grumbled.
"No kidding," Tyler said. Geoff and Ezekiel looked the most upset. Obviously, they had seen Bridgette as more than a friend.
But it was too late.
Duncan patted Courtney's shoulder, comfortingly, looking sympathetic. To her surprise. "I didn't vote for her," he simply said.
"Then who did you vote for?" She asked. He looked uncomfortable now.
"Well, I can't say if that person's still here, but it wasn't you, so…"
"Um, thanks?"
The others had begun walking back to their cabin, Luca telling everyone else the story of how the bull got loose with Ezekiel pitching in every now and then.
"C'mon," Duncan said and they followed the rest of their team.
Courtney was going to be keeping an eye on Heather.
(Voting Confessional )
Bridgette- Okay, Heather is so annoying. It's not like her team lost, so why won't she leave mine alone? Anyway, I vote for… Tyler. Sorry, but you messed up too.
Courtney- I dont think Katie is the most reliable when it comes to facts. I'm not voting Bridgette. She's my friend. So Tyler'll have to go.
Duncan- I vote Tyler. If anyone's clumsier than Bridgette it's him. At least she didn't crash on the first day. Plus, what kind of jock trips over their own feet?
Eva- Bridgette. We'd be doing her a favor after she puked on live TV. And plus, she's a traitor to the team!
Ezekiel- I'm not voting Bridgette, eh. She's too nice to do something evil like that. So, I'm voting Courtney. She's getting annoying being all bossy and mean to my buddy, Harold. Duncan too, for that matter.
Geoff- I'm not voting Bridgette. I'll vote myself if I have to. She didn't do anything wrong. Not everyone can be perfect!
Harold- Duncan. That guy is still annoying and Bridgette is nice! So what if she made one mistake? I make a dozen!
Katie and Sadie- Sorry, Bridgette.
Sadie- Did you really hear her betray the team?
Katie- Yeah, but she was talking to someone else. I wonder who…
Tyler- Bridgette, I guess. Better her than me. Sorry, dudette.
Jaeden- Bridgette. Apparently, she betrayed us. Although her act was pretty awesome. Did you see how she shot everyone with vomit like a machine gun?
Luca- Bridgette is one of the nicest people on the team aside from my friends. I'd rather keep nice people around. So I'm voting for Tyler since he messed up or something like Ezekiel said. Sorry.
Bridgette- 6
Tyler- 4
Courtney- 1
Geoff- 1
Duncan- 1
The real reason Bridgette got voted off... I just changed it now.
The seashell thing with Luca, I obviously made up. And for Leshawna's act, yeah, I maybe got the idea from a movie on how I wrote it.
Sorry, Bridgette fans.
