Class room in Greek city below
"Alright students, today we welcome a special guest who was revived by our queen Hera." Said by the teacher named Sophia standing in front of a 20 student classroom beside Leon. Her hair was brown in a bun but with one strand of hair falling down towards her glasses. Her outfit was that of white/black toga but lowered down towards her knees and hugged her body showing off every curve. But unlike the students she was allowed to wear heels colored brown, nothing fancy but with how she moved in them she was a master of it. Leon could only wonder how hours later he managed to get to something like this which back then would have taken months.
Earlier that day back in the bedroom
"So just like that because I got a favor from Hera I can keep up my classes here!!?" Leon asked in complete surprise. Hera answered back "Indeed, we made sure all your classes and scores for your curriculum were brought over here without delay, no need to start you over now."
Leon felt incredibly lucky, no need to transfer money, quick and easy transfer without the headache of paper work he wished back then with his grandfather it was this easy. Hera could feel his weight off his shoulders and got up "Your classes will begin this afternoon, once that is out of the way I'll have you and Achillia meet in my office."
Achillia the greek warrior that had dragged him back into the room was gonna attend and Leon was iffy yet intrigued about that but saw no reason to not agree considering what this woman had done to him. "See you later today Leon," Achillia said before walking out alongside Hermes with him bowing his head. Things were getting interesting so far.
Back in the classroom
"I want you all to make sure to treat this gentleman with kindness and open arms, understood?" she said to which the class responded "Yes mrs. Sophia," Leon could only wait a bit nervous smiled and waved to the entire class. "I hope we all have a good year and get along," he said with a slight bow.
"Leon you may sit between Elias and cora," Sophia instructed. Sitting down between the two it didn't take long for Elias to offer a hand shake that was firm despite his looks. Having spikey brown hair, black eyes, and standard toga that was required in the classroom he seemed like any other student so far.
"Names Elias though of course Mrs Sophia already said it," He was quite upbeat besides the others, this made Cora chime in "Jeez Elias you sound like you had 4 cups of coffee already, try not to scare the new guy," she said jokingly.
Cora had short spikey brown hair with brown eyes, her toga differed from the boys as her's and other girls were a bit shorter then the mens and wavey at the bottom almost like a skirt. "Ah don't be like that just trying to be friendly is all," Elias replied with a cheeky grin to which cora shakes her head.
"Names Cora of course, don't let that little gremlin scare you he's harmless," this made Elias narrow his eyes in a joking way. Despite being new here it was clear these two seemed to be like friends.
"Haha thanks and no worries it's better then dealing with some grumpy person," Leon answered with both him and her shaking hands.
"Alright boys and girls settle down now, class is now started." No hesitate all the chatter was silneced without her being sturn, she clearly had experience getting the students attention.
Class went on with everyone listening and writing greek history about their gods, heroes, and many mythology monsters that resided here. But one topic came up with that caught Leon's attention more "Now before break we must discuss on the origins of the gods since we have a new student, Leon how much do you know?"
All eyes looked at him waiting for the answer of the hour from their new classmate, this made him nervous but didn't want to remain silent. "Well I do know the greek gods of today came from the Titans, they are from what they say brothers and sisters towards one another that took down cronos and the other titans."
"Very good Mr. Leon, though your part on them being brothers and sisters is quite a bit off" she said and Leon raised an eyebrow, he knows what he said is from his memory learning about greek gods in his spare time so how could something be off he wondered. "I'm a bit confused about that Mrs. Sophia, they all came from cronus and his wife rhea so naturally they are siblings right?"
Sophia smirked and fixed her glasses a bit enjoying his curiosity "Yes and no, it has to do with more than their parents. In the beginning there was only chaos in an empty void, whether by themselves or the endless void three beings Tartarus, Eros, and Gaia emerged. With two female primordial deities chaos and Gaia from what we know they were able to procreate and bring forth many deities, one being known as Uranus Deity of the sky. But you may be wondering how that explains about sibling description, well it's a matter of where they were born."
Leon couldn't agree more, the thought of there being more to the legend was interesting especially being in the very pantheon right now. "Being born in the cosmic like void it allowed the many deities untold power we would not be able to comprehend. But all that changed when Gaia and Uranus had their three children the Titans, cyclops, and the hecatoncheires.
Being born on the planet Gaia planet earth Gaia created away from her birth place they lost access to that void energy and with that lose their blood would diverge apart hence why Gaia and Uranus children differed from one another."
This information was to Leon was out of this world, had he been told back before the accident he would chalked it up to being random lore of someone trying to fill in a missing gap. But here denying it was completely impossible even if the Greek pantheon citizens here had little information.
"W-Wow it almost sounds simple yet at the same time hard to believe," he said from a foreign perspective unknown of the country he or she resided in.
Sophia answered proudly to that answer "On earth it would sound made up but here it is all too real. Any who, with the divergence from their blood naturally from next generation it the powers would heavily differ from one another hence why our gods of today don't share similar powers, they are like brother and sister yet at the same time not so much as the best way to describe them would be like brothers and sisters in arms." she said before pushing up her glasses.
"If I hadn't been here I would have not entirely bel...," Leon cut jumped a bit from the sound of the bell, class was now over. "With that our class is over, do remember to finish up your homework that'll be due tomorrow, dismissed." Sophia said with those final words and everyone got up out of their seats to walk out the door.
Leon pact his things and got up but got stopped by some students "So is it true you were revived by Hera!!? What was it like? How did it feel!?" multiple people asked gathering around him. "Well...I don't really remember much about that...," he felt a bit pressured but luckily cora and Elias came to the rescue.
"Alright you lot break it up he needs to breathe," said cora flicking one of the students heads. They quickly turned away showing she wasn't someone to trifle with.
Elias patted his back laughing "And cora comes to the rescue." Leon couldn't help but laugh at that. These two despite being new to him, felt pretty comfortable around. "Sorry about them, never seen someone revived by our gods," he said watching the crowd finally gone.
Cora sighed turning around "I swear they act like kids sometimes, and yes even you do to Elais." He could only huff at that response which was better than picking a fight.
"Yeah yeah, anyway say Leon wanna hang out a bit at our little hideout? Promise it's not messy," he says to which cora replied "Pffft it's everyday your room is messy and I clean it up."
Elais could only stutter in response "M-Man really!? Gotta embarrass me in front of the new guy..." Leon was a bit taken back by their back and forth comical arguing, it was refreshing to see this.
"I can hang out a bit though I gotta meet with Hera and Achillia in an hour" he said and this made Elais jump for joy. "Sweet we got this big tree no one uses so follow us."
All three walked towards a single tree behind the house, it looked clear which indicates Cora had cleaned up the spot and made their friend clean it up himself. "Mom's tree she planted years ago since a little girl, ain't she a beauty?" Elais said with pride puffing his chest out.
"Wait years ago as a child? But this tree is huge...," was Leon's final answer before Cora and Elais looked at one another in shock but then realized who their new friend was. "Riiiiiggghhhht forgot about that, you see citizens of Greek pantheon here are generally blessed from the flames of Olympus so some people can live over a few decades," she said with Leon looking wide eyed at the reveal.
"Centuries!!? I don't remember reading the flames doing that." out of all the time Leon didn't hear about that till now. Elais decided to chime in "Sit down friend we got some stuff to cover Mrs. Sophia didn't get to say."
over 30 minutes he explained how the denizens in this realm because of their worship of the Greek gods were blessed by the flames of Olympus. Man either gained incredible strength, stamina, speed, or vast knowledge to wield this realm's magic.
Most who didn't get those options simply had higher intelligence which was used to help educate the next generation and beyond. For Cora she was one of the lucky ones being blessed with high intelligence and stamina. Elais had strength and speed, a fitting thing for him and Cora with their personalities.
Leon finally responds to this new knowledge to him "Wow! So I guess now that I'm here I should have one of those right?" The idea was a bit exciting for him. "Possibly though for some people it can take centuries, though since you were reincarnated I can only guess yours could come sooner if you worship our Greek gods." Cora said with arms crossed.
"Well back then it was a myth but now I see it's real, for worship not entirely sure but with Hera who reincarnated me I guess that can apply," Leon retorts back scratching his chin deep in thought.
Elais patted his back laughing saying how if one of the Olympian gods revived him then there must be something more for Leon. "I mean it makes sense when you think about it," Elais said to Cora with a goofy grin on his face.
Cora almost chuckled but kept up her mature nature leaning back "I can say Leon yourself are one of the lucky ones like the heroes who are either descendants or carry the spirit of a hero from the past." This caught Leon's attention and he had to ask, Cora had no problem answering with confidence "Many people with hero spirits or descendants get a chance to come to our realm of the gods and deem them worthy enough.
The most recent one I heard was a human who has the spirit of Heracles." Heracles from what Leon remembered was a hero and great warrior in Greek mythology, his many great feats involved his labors from Hera and his slaying of the mighty hydra which got him recognized by the gods and worshipped by many.
Elais groaned a bit at the name "Ugh that guy...," he said which made Leon raise an eyebrow asking "You don't sound too thrilled of the Heracles of today?."
Cora had to step him in bringing up new info "From what we hear he...has a habit of being cocky, arrogant, and pretty rude," this made him confused, the person having the spirit of a hero acting that way seemed unbelievable. "It's just rumors but these rumors are something else I can feel in my gut!" says Elais. Cora flicked his head making him hold his head with tiny tears falling down his cheeks in a comical way.
Leon couldn't help but laugh, it was simple yet allowed him to push those thoughts on the rumors to the back of his head. "Well they are rumors so we would have to see them in person rather than in secret," says Leon standing up stretching his legs which were half asleep.
Cora and Elais stand up stretching as well brushing off the grass attached to their toga's. "Welp I gotta be off before I'm late meeting with queen Hera," Leon put his bag over his shoulders. Cora and Elais waved goodbye beside one another.
"We'll see you in class tomorrow Leon!" Said Elais and Cora chimed in "Make sure your homework is done you don't want to get chewed out by Mrs. Sophia." Leon gave a thumbs up knowing what needed to be done and finally walked off towards mount Olympus.
Not having a way to teleport or fly his way up top he had to meet up with Achillia at the teleportation circle to get up top. A few minutes of running and he made it to Achillia who like before wore her Spartan like armor was waiting with hands on her hips.
"You're a bit early, a few minutes late and I would've had to find you like before," she said half joking. Leon catches his breath chuckling a little "We..phew wouldn't want that again, I think my shoulder is still sore from before," he said being a little more comfortable towards her.
This made her chuckle a bit as well "Now come we...," she was cut off by a new voice from behind.
"Taking care of some weak newcomer descendant of Achilles, how far your blood line has fallen."
This prompted Leon to turn around getting a good look at the person who said that to someone as strong as Achillia. It was a tall man with a grey long hair style, his clothes were that of many toga's worn but his adorned Greek armor around his body. Even with half his body covered his muscles bulged out showing off how well kept he was. Achillia looked back with an annoyed expression, his little backhanded comment left a bad taste.
"Heracles, if you kept up to date on what your queen has been doing you should know this person was reincarnated by her so clearly he has potential." She said walking up towards Heracles even if he was toward over her, Leon couldn't help feel good for Achillia standing up to him. But at the same time his mind clicked and remembered this was the same man Cora and Elais talked about and clearly from his attitude the rumors appeared to be true.
"Hmph! Out of breath hardly equals potential," pushing past her he walks up towards Leon looking somewhat down on him, Leon being 6'2 while Heracles is 6'5.
"So your that runt I heard caught Queen Hera's eyes, honestly no special powers, not an ounce of strength it's pathetic how you got picked." One could almost guess this was either malice, jealousy, or simply a bully trying to get a ride out of you.
Achillia was about to jump in but Leon spoke up finally "Maybe I'm weak maybe I'm not, but if Hera saw some potential in me to give me another chance in life then that has to count for something. Honestly you just met me and you're quick to judge without getting to know me?"
Achillia was stunned by those coming out of the newcomer, she knew right now he didn't have a chance in tartarus to fight someone as strong as Heracles but him speaking up and slightly calling him out was all the more impressive to her.
But this only made Heracles irritated at this back talk which he retorted while cracking his knuckles "Watch it runt, you may get away with talking like that to peasants down here but your speaking to someone who carries the spirit of Heracles so I suggest you know your place and show the proper respect."
Leon slightly furrowed his brow for even he knew he didn't stand a chance but tried to keep his cool, Achillia however had enough and stepped in front of Heracles slightly catching him off guard.
"Enough Heracles! We don't have time for your arrogance on who you are. We have a meeting with Hera and she wouldn't take to kindly knowing someone like you is keeping us from her now would she?"
Heracles growled a bit muttering some curse words under his breath. Despite all his bravado on strength even he isn't stupid enough to try that with the queen of Olympus. "Hmph! Do as you will, enjoy taking care of your little pet." with those last remarks he turns around walking off, Leon finally breathes a sigh of relief not wanting to get into a fight.
"Jeez! How arrogant can you get?" Leon asked to cross his arms. Achillia couldn't agree more turning his way saying "I apologize for that, Heracles is new yet thinks having the spirit of a hero makes him all mighty it's embarrassing in my opinion." Leon agreed to shaking his head "If that's the case even if he has that spirit why keep him around?"
She sighed looking back where Heracles was standing before walking off "Heracles at least the one who did labors for Hera was a well respected warrior that many people who inherited his spirit after he died was welcomed to Olympus, it kinda became a tradition so naturally he had to brought in as well."
Leon despite not liking this Heracles attitude couldn't argue with a decision that was made tradition for centuries upon centuries. "Well it is what it is, let's head to Hera before we're late." Leon said stepping into the summoning circle along with Achillia. Shining a bright green both teleported back to mount Olympus.
Queen Hera's Chambers
Hera pinched the bridge of her nose sighing "So you had a run in with Heracles, I am glad you avoided a fight the man can be quite stubborn," clearly even she didn't take too kindly with his attitude but let the matters rest for what needed to be done now. "But on to other better matters I trust you had a good time at our school Leon?"
She asked and Leon answered keeping direct eye contact "Yes ma'am, the people were friendly and I think I made some new friends, silly but good people."
This made Hera smile, almost like a mother asking her young child how their first day of school was. "I'm glad to hear, this only gets better beyond now but baby steps."
Turning to Achillia she presented some papers to her "Writings of confirmation being allowed to venture outside the gates for practice sparring signed by me," Hera said and this made Achillia smile and bow "Thank you my Queen Hera we'll make sure to make the most you have granted," she said with happiness which kinda shocked Leon a bit not knowing what was going on until finally asking them both "What is this place your talking about if I may ask?"
Hera almost pinched herself forgetting to say what this was about. "Ah my mistake, it is high time we discuss what will happen, please have a seat.
He sat on a royal chair way more comfy than the ones the school has. "Now then Leon you remember how I said I used our way of reincarnation metempsychosis? Well in truth it's not a simple thing to wield even for us gods.
The process is difficult and complex that if used incorrectly or gently the said person could ultimately stay dead having no chance of getting a second life." Hera explained not too fast to make sure he could process this information. He asked her a bit curious "I see, so I guess mine wasn't that difficult?"
But Hera only shook her head "Yours was...somewhat difficult yet at the same time was a smooth process, people with the right circumstances like how they died or if still alive what they did in life can be reincarnated. It's mysterious in ways we can fully comprehend but they happen. For you I say in-between because of the power that I sense that dwells within you."
Leon puts his hands on chest looking down wondering just what she sensed that he could not. "I don't feel anything, or different from before..." He says with confusion in his voice of the unknown.
Achillia steps in beside him "Which is why you and me will be going beyond the gates for special training to understand what lies deep within you, me and Athena our superior and goddess will help." this made Leon had to say something else on what was said 'Athena the goddess of wisdom and war helping us, and superior???" Hera laughed a bit "Of course, she will be looking after you both. Achillia wasn't resurrected like you but holds potential like you, since she has the wisdom she will be your teacher or in most cases how some like to call it your superior in this matter."
all kinds of feelings were swirling in his head, being trained by both someone who also has potential and the greek goddess of war and wisdom was something special yet kinda nerve racking having not done any of this before in his life until now.
Hera got from her seat walked over to Leon and hugged him laying his head on her chest like before in the bedroom chambers.
"Great things are going to happen Leon, you may not believe it but you have a great gift one that could make your life something special." Leon was embarrassed being hugged like that especially from eyesight from Achillia though she didn't laugh and let it happen.
He simply nods before she lets go "Go get some rest you two, Leon after school meet Achillia by the gates and she'll walk you through the next step." He nods saying yes ma'am before Achillia walks with him towards his room where he first woke up.
Hera sits back down looking over her papers thinking out loud with everyone gone. "That poor boy, being orphaned twice it's pure willpower he keeps going.
That grandfather of his Philips really helped him out from what his memory shows, though with this power inside him I cannot tell what it is will be something he couldn't be prepared for...But he had a good heart and I believe one day he'll find out its secrets. The least I can do is be there for him every step of the way...like a mother should."
Things start to move forward as Leon must now prepare for training from two strong warriors. The power that lays dormant within him what could it be that caught the eyes of the goddess she insists on making sure Leon finds out it's secrets? More will have to be known going forward.
Wanted to say thank you to those who liked and followed this story whether big or small means a lot for it to be read, more to come in the future.
