Olympus Realm
At the very top of Mount Olympus Zeus sat on his throne lightly tapping the index finger on the marble material of which he sat on. He clearly was waiting for someone to arrive in the room, him being first was expected as the ruler of Mount Olympus and the Greek mythology realm.
Finally the throne room doors opened, the messenger god Hermes came through but not alone. "Zeus, I have brought all three as you've requested."
"As promised Zeus I've brought two people I trust." Azazel bowed while pointing his hand to the two people behind him, both fallen angels just like him.
The first to step forward was a middle aged gruff looking with black hair and matching beard. Though he had a cloak covering most of his body one could see his muscular build from the suit he wore.
"My name is Baraqiel, sometimes people call me the lightning of Heaven, and it is an honor to meet the ruler of Olympus." The fallen angel said bowing in respect.
The next to come up was a light brown skinned man with his hair braided in cornrows. Unlike Azazel and Baraqiel the outfit this fallen angel wore was that of a black leather jacket, light blue jeans with a chain hanging around the waist, and black leather boots.
"My name is Arakiel, and it is an honor to meet the one and only Zeus." He bows in respect as well.
Zeus nods both at them, "A pleasure, Hermes you are dismissed."
"Of course Zeus." The messenger god bows and leaves, as he walked through the doors they began to close on their own.
"Now then we all know what this is about. I'm not unkind to judge you harshly, not without hearing your side of the story." Zeus said leaning forward looking at all three fallen angels.
"Like I said I take full responsibility." Azazel made sure to remind him that if there was to be any punishment he would take the brunt of it. "But you do deserve the full story, we detected a powerful surge of power in the city of Athens. We watched but noticed strange hooded people and a single priest approaching the very same power source we detected. Normally it would seem like nothing because the city of Athens has a cathedral but these people entered through a portal, it was pure luck we managed to notice this."
The king of Olympus was intrigued yet concerned that the area in Greece had people entering illegally, it seemed like two and two could be put together but he needed to hear more. "Continue."
"This power we detected had appeared years ago but only for a split second, we couldn't determine what it was. To now sense it years later caught my attention, but these hooded people and a priest entered with the intention of not being noticed, that was something I couldn't ignore." Azazel kept his tone cool making sure he explained everything as well as possible. "This is where I had to send in someone, someone who wasn't occupied with other tasks and someone I could trust, Arakiel."
The leader of Grigory ushered his scout to come forward, Zeus's attention now fully on the fallen angel scout.
"Thank you Azazel. I was the one tasked to investigate, it couldn't be a coincidence those people decided to just sneak in. I watched there every move carefully not letting my presence be known but...," Arakiel looked down a bit ashamed but pulled himself back up. "Someone or something attacked me from behind, another hooded figure, I couldn't make out his or her face. It was enough to alert the group and all attacked me, the hooded individual took that time to get away while I dealt with them."
"So there was another person you failed to see enter in the area without your knowledge from what I'm hearing." Zeus furrowed his brow.
"Sadly yes your king. I tried to catch all of them since we believed you had the right to know about people sneaking into your area. But all of them, especially that priest who seemed to be the leader, made it difficult as they moved around. They knew I couldn't just use my powers because I'd be destroying buildings in the process. But I eventually found a way to corner them, yet that priest did something I wasn't expecting..."
"The train derailing off the tracks and stumbling down the hill." Zeus said out loud figuring where this was headed.
"Yes sir." Arakiel nodded. "He destroyed the lines causing the train to crash over the hill. I did what I could to stop it from being completely destroyed, yet he seemed to have some sadistic pleasure watching me struggle, even going as far as to still try to attack the train." The fallen angel clenched his fist clearly showing his disdain for the action. "Once I knew everyone inside was safe I tried to pursue after but all of those him and his colleagues jumped straight through the portal, I don't know where they went."
"And that is where I came in." Baraqiel stepped forward now to explain himself as well. "When Azazel heard what happened he sent me to make sure Arakiel was alright. By the time I arrived I had run into your wife and daughter Hera and Athena. I made sure to help them erase people's memories that saw our scout and that group, afterwards I willingly told them who we were."
"And that's how we got here." Azazel said with both arms crossed.
"I see I see," Zeus stroked his beard understanding the situation more and more. "Though I must ask Azazel, why did you not come instead? You are the one who organized this scouting."
"I would have had it not been that I was in Japan at the time. Then learning something troubling about one of my own a few days later I had to stay for a bit to make sure things were resolved before I could finally come to Olympus and explain myself."
Zeus while not liking the fact he didn't come sooner quickly put it to the side, he remembers all the times dealing with two problems you had to pick one and believe it was the right choice.
"At least you tried not to ignore this and come sooner rather than later I suppose." Zeus then leaned back in his chair. "This priest and his group, do you know who they are?"
A nod came from the Grigory leader with a smirk to boot as well. "Of course, those people have danger written all over them. I didn't have it then but with more digging I was able to find out about this priest. Freed Sellzen, a priest who was exiled from the church and is now a stray exorcist. We don't fully know why he was exiled at least not yet anyway."
"I see, this stray exorcist Freed Sellzen will have a lot of answers for why he did what he d..."
Suddenly the throne room began to shake violently, the three fallen angels almost falling to the floor trying to keep their balance.
"What the hell was that an earthquake!?" Arakiel said finally getting his balance back.
"What in the hell could make Olympus violently shake?" Zeus stood up getting off his throne looking around to make sure things were still intact.
Suddenly the doors pushed open, Poseidon running in with a serious expression yet worried expression. "Zeus! You need to come outside, see what has appeared over the horizon!"
He didn't need to ask why from his brother, quickly moving outside alongside him. Azazel and his men ran outside as well, the idea of there being another earthquake and the ceiling crashing down on all three was not favorable.
Once everyone was outside they could see many people scrambling for safety inside. What they saw shocked everyone, three very gigantic figures could be seen down below so giant they nearly reached the clouds. But that wasn't the only thing from the giants they saw, multiple hands and faces protruding from all around the upper half of each body. Zeus was completely stunned at the sight he saw,. something he hoped to never see in his lifetime.
"What are those things!?" Azazel asked looking at Zeus just as stunned as he was.
"Those giants...they are..."
Olympus Lower City
Cora and Elias sat together under the family tree looking over their notes to study, or at least Cora made sure Elias was studying so he didn't forget any important subjects their teacher Mrs. Sophia would remind them.
"Study, study, and more studying...," Elias tested his head back on the tree completely tired of looking at the books.
"Sounds like you don't want to pass the class and get into the Spartans." Cora with her eyes still glued to her book said to her childhood friend.
Elias knew she was right, passing this class meant he could finally apply to get into the Spartans and go up the ranks like his mother.
The young man sighed looking up between the branches that shaded them from the sun. "I know I know. I just wish it could come sooner is all."
Cora whose eyes were glued to her book sighed as well closing it. "You're so eager to move forward but forget if he rushes to fast your gonna miss out on a lot of opportunities that'd help you."
Elias raised an eyebrow from those words his friends said. "Was that a quote from your grandmother? Haven't heard that since we were kids."
"It's a good learning quote, and good to know that it hasn't slipped your mind years later."
"Hey it wasn't a bad one, and coming from you I can believe it even though you're crazy tomboyish haha!"
Cora without looking at him blushed slightly looking away from him. She could pull on his ear like she does multiple times whenever he'd be silly or stupid but something in her said to 'let it slide for now.'
"Yeah well... someone needs to have the brains that can make words understandable." She pushed up her glasses recomposing her emotion.
"At least with words I can comprehend, none of the math stuff your real brains on that." Elias gave a wide smile to her, both his hands behind his head.
"Naturally, what would you do if I wasn't here to make sure you didn't slack on your studying."
"Probably get an F minus on all the quizzes, tests, projects etc." He laughed being glad that wasn't the case now.
Cora though not much smiled this time at Elias goofy laugh, she wasn't about to admit it outright because of embarrassment but she deep down adored that laugh of his. Sure he could be much, as if he'd drunk so much black coffee he couldn't sit still, but she knew him all too well he was determined and that they both made a pretty good combo. Not to say just the two of them as she missed her friend Leon who went to the other realm to attend the peace talks, she hoped he would be successful because she was eager to learn more about Asgard and the other realms should they become allies.
"Yes well keep that motivation so you...,"
Suddenly the ground shook violently as if an earthquake was happening right now. Elias and Cora desperately hold onto the tree to not fall to the ground. Unfortunately for her it was too much falling on her back, Elias saw and tried to grab her but the violent shaking tipped off his balance so much he landed right on top of her.
The earthquake finally stopped which felt like an eternity despite being only a few seconds. Cora realizing it was done slowly opened her eyes. "I-I think it sto...," She stopped mid sentence looking up at her own childhood friend right on top of her in a position that would look romantic to others.
"Is it done? Finally, what in Tartarus name was that!?" Elias looked around to see how much damage was done, Unbeknownst to him on who he was on top of.
"Elias!!!" Cora shouted with a completely flustered face.
"Huh? Oh crap sorry!" He quickly got up on both feet. "I didn't hurt you did I cora? I accidentally lost my footing there."
"N-No I'm fine but thank you for the concern." She finally got up as well dusting off any dirt on her toga as well as fixing her glasses.
"Glad to hear, was that an earthquake? I don't remember our realm ever having those." Elias opened the back door to his house looking at all the items that fell on the floor, some even broken.
Cora went inside as well behind him, picking up most items that were broken. "No our realm should be stable to not have natural disasters, something is very wrong."
Their worries only grew with the sound of not one, or two, but multiple footsteps outside. Elias was the first to swing open the front door seeing multiple Spartans running through the streets, every last one done in their bronze armor.
"To the gates quickly!" One yelled clearly being a commander.
Elias concerned stopped one of the Spartans demanding answers. "What is going on? Why are so many of you in a hurry!?"
"We are being under attack, the threat level is maximum! I suggest you and your girlfriend get into hiding now."
With those final words the Spartan rushed towards the gates like his brothers and sisters in arms.
Cora looked dumb founded but not just because of the news they were being under attack but because of what he just said about Elias and her.
"What did he just say!?"
Elias thinking fast grabbed a hold of her hand, this getting a blush from her.
"We need to find better shelter Cora, Adonis shop is our best pla...,"
He stopped mid sentence looking up at what appeared to be a fireball flying overhead. It then slammed right into a tower far away completely destroying it. Cora looked on in shock and horror as more fireballs suddenly came flying down but this time all around the city now, many people scrambling in fear and confusion.
"We need to go NOW!!!" Elias knowing how dangerous this was was becoming pulled Cora with him, luckily she didn't need convincing to run with him to Adonis shop as it was the best place right now for any type of cover.
Everywhere they ran houses were catching on fire, people panicked, and some Spartans laid burned from being the unlucky ones to get hit. But they were soon the unlucky ones as now a fireball bigger than the other ones crashed into the ground a few meters away blowing both back away. This one however when cooled down revealed to be a giant boulder, it slowly shook and cracked until it split open in two.
"What in the world!?" Elias is groggy yet still aware of what he was seeing.
Bursting through the boulder came Cerberus's, each where not the original Cerberus because of their sizes, yet three in total with three heads each. Each one either snarled or breathed out black smoke with some embers. Finally they began to disperse attacking Spartans, civilians, it didn't matter. One hellhound stopped and looked at Cora, its mouth dripping with saliva indicating it was hungry. Despite the horrific scene this did not stop Elias from stepping in front of her standing his ground against the beast.
"Cora go find shelter I'll hold it off."
"Elias are you crazy!? You can't face that thing!"
"I can at least distract it! Cora please find shelter now!"
The Cerberus dog bearing its fangs began to charge at Elias, its mouth wide open far bigger than his head. And yet before it could get any closer a spear fled past the young man and pierced the dogs chest right in its heart fully killing it outright as it fell to the ground.
Elias who was ready to have it chased him looked on in surprise. Cora still on the ground closed her eyes in fear for what could come but it never happened.
"There you two are," A voice from behind them both called out, it was none other than Lydia.
"Mother!" Elias smiled brightly at the sight of his mom alive and well.
"Mrs. Lydia!" Cora said with happiness as well.
The mother ran up and gave both of them a hug, she was relieved to know they were alive in all of this chaos.
"Thank the gods you two are alright." Lydia said before she let both go from the group hug.
"Mother what is happening? First an earthquake, fire raining down into the city, and now hellhounds out of the underworld?" Elias asked seriously.
"I'm just as confused as you two are. But we cannot stay here I need to get you two to safety." She said looking around but only seeing burning buildings.
Cora knowing running around was too dangerous and the closest place for safety was needed asap. "Adonis's shop! It's the closest place so far."
Lydia nodded pulling out her finely crafted bronze sword for protection. "Stick close to me both of you!"
Both nodded in agreement running behind Lydia as she carved a way through to the shop, everywhere they looked more boulders that fell from the sky began to burst out more monsters such as basilisk, minotaurs, and other monstrosities that began to wreak havoc across the city.
Finally after five minutes they managed to get to the shop, though slightly burned it was still intact. Lydia did not hesitate to bang on the door. "Hello! Adonis, are you there?"
"Adonis it's us, Elias and Cora!" Elias shouted as well banging on the door as well.
After a few seconds the door opened, Adonis with a cleaver to protect himself in case he was attacked.
"You're both alright! Get inside quickly it's the end of the world out here." He ushered for all three to come inside.
Both childhood friends ran inside, all except Lydia who looked back at the destruction with a stern look.
"Mother come on it's dangerous outside," He pleaded with his mother.
"I can't Elias, not while this chaos threatens to burn down our home."
Her son went from a confused look to one of determination. "If you're going then so am I!"
"Elias!" Cora looked at him with a serious look that could say he's completely stupid.
"You have a death wish boy, stay in here like your mother says," Adonis was in agreement with Cora.
"But...," He looked back at the two ready to argue.
Lydia unsheathed her sword and handed it to her son surprising him in the process.
"Mother?"
"Stay here Elias, if any of these beasts threaten to come inside do what you must." The mother looked at him with a serious look.
He looked at the sword clutching it in his hands before looking back up at her with determination. "I'll make sure we're safe mother I promise."
She smiled at her son before giving him a hug which he returned. Finally she backed away watching him close the door and locking it.
"I must round up any survivors, we'll need to be unified if any left are to live to see another day." Lydia said before running through the alley way looking for anyone that could help or guide survivors to a safe location.
Midgard Underground Cavern
"Einar, what is the meaning of this?" Rossweisse asked still gripping her leg Leon was holding to stop any unnecessary bleeding.
"You're a good woman Rossweisse, but foolish to work with a mass murderer." Einar said furrowing his brow.
"I don't understand!" Leon looked at him both serious and concerned. "Why are you doing this and who is this mass murderer you're talking about?"
"I figured you were smarter than that Leon given how much you've studied our culture." He shook his head in disappointment. "Odin, the All-Father who everyone looks up too seems to forget his crimes that have gone unpunished." He tightened his hands around his axe in anger. "Blood that must be paid in blood."
It didn't take Long for Leon and rossweisse to put two and two together of what he meant, the legends of how Odin and his brothers killed Ymir and his blood that flooded and killed almost all of the giants, two surviving able to repopulate but many ostracized because of their powers.
"You speak of something that happened hundreds of millennia ago," Rossweisse said with a sadned look. "How will killing fix what happened?"
"I don't expect you or anyone to understand!" Einar shouted in anger but soon calmed himself down.
"So help us understand!" Leon asked the warrior despite his sudden betrayal. "There doesn't need to be any more killings."
"Ugh yaaaawwwwwnnnnn," Freed said imitating a yawn as if he was tired. "Enough with the sappy talk it's time to get down to the good stuff!"
Einar looked at him in annoyance but understood their goals. "Yes, you get your reward and I get mine, the grótti." Now he began to walk up to the crystal that was severely cracked with an axe in hand ready to throw.
"Wait!"
Leon was about to stand up but Freed held his sword at the unconscious Bennia with a sadistic grin.
"Uh uh uh, you stay put or your little reaper friend will be heading a way ticket to your pagan afterlife." He said chuckling.
"Why you...," Leon gritted his teeth feeling helpless knowing if he did anything rash it would cost his friends life.
"Einar!" Rossweisse called out. "Where are Magni and Modi, did you..."
"They're still alive and should be lucky I haven't killed them outright."
Einar looked at the robbed people and they in turn nodded back at him. Each one held up a hand using summoning magic, a few seconds and both the god brothers who were badly bruised appeared unconscious yet still alive.
"Why are you doing this Einar? To your home and to us?" Leon shouted in frustration.
"To put it plainly Leon I needed to lure you here, a trade was needed for me and the exorcist." He looked at Freed then back at Leon. "You are something special, something Freeds accomplices need for their own plans."
"My sacred gear?"
"That's right," Freed snickered. "Being able to conjure up swords and absorb the powers of whatever it sinks itself into oh now that got my boss's mouth watering hahah!"
That made Leon's heart sink knowing there were people after him for his sacred gear, even going as far as to hurt others in the process. Yet also betrayed that someone he thought was his friend would do this.
"Einar..."
"It brings me no pleasure in doing this Leon. But, in order for there to be justice, to get justice for the love of my life...I will do what I have to do." He said while clenching the necklace around his neck.
"Einar there has to be a better way then this!" Rossweisse pleaded with the younf warrior not to go through with this.
"There is only one way I see."
He turned and walked towards the
A cracked crystal embedded in the wall, the robbed people now all began to walk towards Einar and stood side by side of him. Each of their hands began to glow showing that they were mages transporting some of their magic into the young warriors weapon.
"Don't tell me he's gonna...," Leon looked on wondering what was gonna happen.
With the axe charged up with enough magical power Einar pulled it back over his head and then chucked it at the crystal. Upon impact it completely shattered flashing a bright light that everyone had to cover their eyes. As the light died down the shattered crystal released large amounts of magic aura that spilled out onto the ground but it wasn't the only thing falling down. The three silhouettes finally came into view, the two figures were women but not just any women, they were Jotunns. One was frost Jotunn with black hair while the other almost the same skin color as rossweisse but with red hair, both had ragged clothes that only covered their chest and waist. Yet what was in-between the two was a massive stone that had a log in it sticking out from both sides.
"That item...it can't be...," Rossweisse looked on in complete shock.
"Who and what is this?" Leon asked just but confused rather than stunned like the Valkyrie.
"The legend of the old Norse poem, Fenja and Menja, the only ones who could use grótti to grind out almost whatever was wished for." The Valkyrie said in amazement.
The legends have become vague over time but what always stuck with those interested in the legends was trying to find out where the two giants and the grótti disappeared too. Many assumed it was either destroyed, somewhere under the vast oceans of Midgard, or the two sisters hid it away.
All three gently floated to the ground, Einar smirked and now finally acquired what he wanted all this time. It did not take long for one of the Jotunn women to slowly open her eyes.
"Mmmm, where...where am I?" The frost Jotunn said slowly getting up.
Soon the other Jotunn woman opened her eyes. "Menja, are we...are we alive?"
"You are alive," Einar walked up to both of them kneeling. "You've been in stasis for many generations, things you remember have changed."
"Who are you?" Menja slowly got up still groggy trying to get her footing.
"You may refer to me as Einar, and I'll see that justice is served."
"Justice?" The Jotunn named Fenja with red hair looked up at him confused.
"Yes, with the grótti I will make sure to use it to take down Odin, along with Asgard for what it has done to you people." Einar looked at them both with determination. "With your help we can..."
"NO!" Menja got up looking at the now confused Asgardian warrior.
"What!?" He looked at her with a surprised look.
Fenja finally got on her feet looking at him with an angry expression as well. "We've been enslaved to Grótti for so long we'd rather see it destroyed than ever used again."
"You clearly misunderstand what I mean, this is not to enslave you both but to bring down Odin along with all Asgard, blood paid in blood." Einar said not backing down on what he wished to achieve.
Fenja completely towered over him and stared down with a scowl. "We could care less about your brand of justice, we were slaves before but no longer anymore."
Menja turned her back on him walking towards the mill they once were forced to work on without rest. "People with power will abuse something like this, and we suffer in the process." The frost Jotunn started to raise her hand balled I'm a fist. "We didn't get the chance to destroy it but I'll make sure it's destroyed for good."
Einar's own shocked expression soon turned into one of sadness and frustration. "I'm sorry but you leave me no choice."
Raising his hand was a signal for the robed hooded mages to unleash magic onto Menja, this being a control magic to keep her in check.
"W-What the!?" Menja tried to move yet couldn't, it felt as if she no longer had control over her body.
"Menja! Release her now!" Fenja's fist nearly collided with Einar's face but like with Menja she was stopped in her tracks from the magic controlling her body.
Rossweisse gritted her teeth, anger and disgust started to come over him seeing who he believed to be an honorable warrior was now controlling others against their will. "Einar stop this!" He called out.
"Hahaha oh this is quite the show, the frustration on your faces!" Freed laughed out loud enjoying every moment of this.
"Einar don't do this you know this isn't right!" Leon pleaded with him to not go through with this destructive plan.
He looked back at Leon, his facial expression with no emotion but still said to him, "Maybe years ago I would've gone a different path but not anymore lad, I see only one option." His attention turned back to the two Jotunn who still tried to move. "I will do what I must to see this through."
"You...damn...bastard...," Menja snarled at him wanting to beat him into a bloody pulp.
"Hoho scary faces on that lady." The exorcist chuckled.
Einar raised his hand commanding two of the mages to move the Jotunn's to grótti. Both tried to break free but it was completely useless as both now had their hands on the long that would be used to turn in circles.
"We... won't...be... enslaved...again...," Fenja said in frustration.
"I take no pleasure in doing this to both of you women but I will see justice is served. Freed, I'll be needing three of your men to get back to Asgard."
Freed snickered and waved his hand, "Fine by me, just glad our payment has been processed."
The three robbed mages soon circled Einar and the Jotunn women saying words that could not be translated, but all knew what he was doing, transporting to Asgard for his one goal.
"Einar!" Leon called out but he kept his back turned to the young sacred gear wielder and in a flash of light from the summoning circle all in it teleported away.
Asgard
Back in the arena where now the Spartans spared with the einherjar per Odin and Hera's request to see how well they fared. Hecuba with a bronze sword and Achillia with her family staff faced off against veteran einherjar showing how much strength, skill, and focus they had which surprised them greatly.
"Your two top warriors are just as good as you said," Odin commented and how strong yet fluent their moves were.
"I've watched them since they were kids, their growth has been astonishing." Athena added to how good the two women were.
"To be that young and skilled just like with our rossweisse." Frejya looked quite amazed.
"Add in Leon and we've so far got four people who are skilled despite being young." Hera chuckled making sure Leon, the man she had resurrected, was added into the group.
"Sacred gear users do happen to have mass amounts of potential. Your boy Leon is good in combat as he did fight your daughter Sif." Baldur said to the beautiful haired goddess.
"Yes indeed, though Thrud has more experience and power I was quite surprised how he adapted to the situation in battle," Sif couldn't deny how good the sacred gear wielder was against her daughter.
Thrud who was leaning against the wall down in the arena watched the two Spartan women amazed at how they fought. She knew it was clear they were more skilled than their friend Leon with how precise their movements and swings were, how they knew when to attack from an opening to blocking or dodging to avoid serious damage.
"I'll need to have a one on one match with those two, or both at the same time." Thrud smirked with the blood pumping in excitement of a good fight.
After a few more minutes both Spartan sides kicked their einherjar opponents legs making them fall to the ground.
"Do you yield?" Both women said simultaneously.
The two einherjar men looked at the weapons pointed at their necks, this caused a sweat to drop from their brows but soon was replaced by a chuckle until soon a hearty laugh.
"We yield."
"You are as strong as your gods have said, most respectable."
Knowing the fight was over both helped the einherjar to their feet, the other warriors all stopped their sparring to look on and clap in amazement.
"Hahaha most impressive indeed!" Odin clapped his hands.
"We are pleased you enjoyed the show." Hera smiled warmly at the all-father and his wife.
"Most definitely. Perhaps when things move along nicely we can try to see how well Spartans and Einherjar fight together." Frejya suggested future progress through two army forces fighting as one.
Outside the walls of Asgard
Unbeknownst to people inside a portal opened beyond the walls of the Asgardian home around some mountains, out came none other then Einar along with two of the mages that helped open the portal, and Menja and Fenja who were still being controlled to keep their hands on the grótti at all times.
The once honorable turned traitor takes in a deep breathe in and out with eyes closed, his one mission for revenge getting closer and closer.
"And so it finally begins," He opens his eyes looking at Asgard from afar, a face with determination of going forward with no second thoughts. Looking back at the two Jotunn sisters who looked at him with a glare he shook his head. "Had you come with me willingly you'd have your freedom."
"As if we had any freedom to begin with coming from a bastard like you." Menja snarled at him hoping she could get free to strangle the life out of him.
"Your anger is misdirected, both of you!" He wakes up to the frozen in place women. "Had it not been for Odin your kind could have kept their original home, could've been something more."
"You dwell on the past too much," Fenja finally spoke glaring at him. "We're here now and right now we're the ones who don't have freedom from someone who doesn't care who gets hurt in the process!"
"So foolish ya both are." Einar finally turned his back shaking his head. "Begin the process both of you, I want warriors, enough to siege the all- father's realm."
Both robed mages nodded simultaneously and began to use their control magic forcing the Jotunn women to start walking in circles while pushing the log which activated Grótti. Within seconds multiple apparitions of warriors fully armored and ready for war began to appear. It did not take long for there to soon be over hundreds of warriors came into existence.
"Damn...you...," Fenja said unable to break free, many unpleasant memories coming into her mind of her and Menja being forced so long ago now happening again within only minutes after awakening from their deep slumber.
"Incredible...," Einar said under his breath, he remembers reading how grótti was able to create enough soldiers to seize a castle back in Midgard, it was another to see it in person. "This is only the beginning." He then pulled out a gem from his pocket and pointed it towards the two mages. "Activate the two portals to Heilhiem, and Muspelheim. Let the cold of Hel freeze and bring dread while the fires burn all in its path."
Both mages spoke while sending magic into the gem powering it up. As the warrior then held it up in the air portals colored red and blue began to form high above Asgard soon the open and being chaos. Once he knew both were there he turned back to see now thousands of armed warriors in line waiting for his command, many more still coming as Grótti kept rotating thanks to Menja and Fenja.
"Today is the day blood is paid in blood! This realm will know what it's like to be flooded with chaos, the all father will watch before I strike him down and watch as his blood paints the ground!" He then turned around glaring with one final word under his breath. "And I will bring you back to me...my one true love."
Now finally done with talking his raises one hand in the air to then point straight at Asgard. "CHARGE!!!" He said the thousands of warriors did as commanded, all of them even the ones with wings moved straight ahead.
Asgard Watch Tower
The ever watchful god Heimdall, Watchman of the gods, stood looking out for anything that would try to cross the bifrost bridge and threaten his home or the realm as a whole. He didn't need a chair to sit comfortably as he felt doing that was an insult to his role, much to Frejya being the one to suggest he at least have some comfort up top.
Heimdall lost in thought a bit said in his mind, "I do wonder if Odin will truly go through with this alliance, though he has no I'll will to Olympus will others be willing to go along with...hm?"
His inner monologue stopped at sensing something from afar, it was too far away so he couldn't see but he felt it was there. After a few seconds he stepped forward to edge of his watch tower now squinting his eyes until finally he saw a small dot in the sky.
"What in the world...huh!?"
WHOOSH!!!
Something fast came approaching, something Heimdall couldn't hope to block so instead stepped fast out of the way.
"An attack, from who?"
His attention would've stayed from outside were it not for the shock and horror he witnessed behind him. The very thing that had speed past him was none other then an arrow, a somewhat large that had pierced right into Gjallahorn, the horn that when blown into was said to be able to be heard across heaven, earth, and other worlds alerting Asgard of threats drawing near.
"No!" He ran to pull out the arrow but stopped at the sight of it glowing brighter and brighter. He could feel huge magical energy building up, it was a bomb ready to go off. "Damn it all!" He said before jumping over the edge of his watch tower.
BOOM!!!
As he fell he looked back in horror, his watch tower he had lived in a long with Gjallahorn for generations was blown into thousands of pieces.
Finally he hit the ground on both feet catching himself, he could not believe what he had just saw. "Without Gjallahorn I can't alert Odin in time! Dammit I must..."
The sound of hundreds of thousands of footsteps could be heard from far away. Shouting echoed enough to be heard Heimdall looked at the very end of the bifrost to see many armored warriors, some flying in the air as well, charging across the bifrost bridge. He didn't need to put two and two together of who destroyed his horn to alert the gods.
"I must warn Odin at once! This beings seek to seige Asgard!" He whistles calling his white stallion horse and just as quickly climbed on it's back. "To Asgard hurry!" Using all of it's strength the horse ran back to Asgard as fast as it could, with or without Gjallahorn Heimdall was the one to alert the gods without fail.
As the gate came into view he could see the massive army catching up closer and closer. Their battle cry sending shivers down his spine but he kept going, but without react much from behind a stray arrow pierced his right shoulder, coming out from the other side.
"Ghah!!!"
He screamed in pain holding his wound that dripped blood as he kept moving while glad the horse didn't take the hit. It felt almost like an eternity trying to stay one step ahead from the incoming army but he finally made it to the massive gates and with what strength he had left he pushed open the doors just enough to squeeze through. Some Asgardian and Einherjar, who sometimes visited Asgard, were nearby and noticed Heimdall breathing heavily while holding an arrow covered in blood through his shoulder.
"Watchman of the God's Heimdall? What has happened to you!?" One Einherjar said rushing to his aid and in shock and confusion, he helped the god down gently to let him sit down and breathe.
"Someone...warn Odin And Frejya...there is...an enemy invasion!" The watchman could barely speak but did the best he could.
It didn't take long for one person to hear the sounds of battle cry and thousands of footsteps coming from outside the gates. Looking through he noticed Heimdall was right and shouted, "Enemies are incoming! We need to shut the gates!"
Others could hear it as well and acted fast, thanks to the strength of the einherjar close by and many other Asgardian citizens they all pushed the gates closed. Many climbed up its stairs to reinforce it by pushing giant logs used to hold it shut through the holes.
BANG!
Just as the gates were closed and reinforced all could hear the loud bang of something hitting it hard, hard enough to push them inward a tiny bit.
"Tell the gods...hurry!" Heimdall pleaded to the einherjars.
Before one could run to the arena where Odin and the others were an arrow pierced his stomach. Soon more arrows started to shoot down hitting other people, all could see the ones with wings in the air firing arrows down into the city. Many citizens scrambled for cover while einherjars pulled up their shields to cover themselves and allies.
"Go to the All-Father Heimdall! We shall hold off these aggressors." The einherjar said unsheathing his blade ready for battle.
He knew not to let this sacrifice go in vain. Being helped back onto his white stallion he rode to the arena, if he was going to pass out from blood loss he'd rather do it after he warned the All-Father about this unprovoked invasion.
The siege has begun in not one but two ancient realms, a surprise attack the people or gods saw coming. How many will survive and how many will fall throughout this chaos? More to come in the next chapter.
