"STAND YOUR GROUND MEN!!!"
The roars of every Spartan on the battlefield held their ground in formation that's been used since ages past. Monsters aggressively bashed against there defenses, even when one was cut down another and two nore were there to take it's place.
Ares did his best to hold back one of the hecatoncheires with his size nearly matching it. Even as he gripped multiple arms to many could grip not only his arms but armor as well. "I will show you why they call me the god of war monster." Opening his breathe he spewed out flames at the many faces that seemed to have an effect as it belowed in pain. But that only seemed to make it angrier, multiple mouths opened wide to shoot out beams of energy the Ares causing parts of his armor to melt in the process, he gritted his teeth feeling the flesh get hotter snd hotter yet refused to be put down.
"I told you...I will not be put down by you!"
To the hecacontheires surprised the god of war pulled his right arm way winding it back expected for it to be thrown directly back but Ares bent hos knees to lower his body just enough to get a good aim at it's stomach, punching it so hard the ground behind both of them shook.
Meanwhile Barquiel had the advantage of flying mid air distracting his opponent but that ment dodging the many mouth beams shot at him.
"I can not keep dodging forever and this thing doesn't seem to be tiring anytime soon."
"Then we will strike down with our combined might." Said Poseidon floating beside him. "These ancient creatures were feared for a reason, small attacks will only aggravate it."
"Then we will need to have it distracted so one spot of it's body is completely open. I will do what I can Posiedon."
The god of sea nodded to the plan watching the black winged fallen angel fly towards the hecatonchieres throwing multiple bolts of lighting all around it's body. Poseidon taking this chance knowing it would be only a matter of time until his sights was set on began to charge his staff with massive amounts of energy ready to be released, so much so if Baraquiel or anyone below him on terns of power would be vaporized on the spot.
You must hurry Poseidon I don't knoe how much longer I can hold it off Baraquiel said in his mind starting to get a bit winded his assault.
"Almost...," the god of the sea's staff glowed a bright azure color drawing forth much needed power as possible. "Now Baraquiel!"
A sigh of relief escaped his mouth, dashing up towards the skies channeling as much holy lightning is seconds in the palm of his hands. "Fire!"
Both men rained down their respective powers down on top the hecatoncheires, it did what it could to shield it's many faces yet the force of the blasts slamming down onto it made it bend the knee. Half of it's top half scorched, smoked coming off as if there was a blazing fire.
"Huff...huff...it surely felt that one," Baraquiel put everything he had into that blast, having more wings showed just how powerful he can be. Poseidon though slightly winded himself seemed to have more stamina to spair no doubt from being a god.
"Indeed, it is durable but such force of attack should be enough to...!!!?,"
Poseidon's voice cut off from unexpectedly from the sound a beam hitting him point blank range from his back. But that wasn't the end of his surprise, the hecatoncheires from below they believed weakened shot it's own blast from nearly a hundred mouths right on his front side. The god of the sea barely able to scream in pain from being overwhelmed. "How...could...I..." Unable to keep conscious he fell from the sky, his trident let go from his grasp.
"Poseidon! Dammit!" Baraquiel tried to rush forward but he stopped mid flight, the monstrous being not taking it's eyes off of him. If that was not bad enough harpies swooped down from above taking this advantage to a mid air assault on a weakened prey.
Zeus who'd been trying to free Gaia and Argos just now noticed Poseidon falling from the sky not knowing if he's still alive or dead. "Poseidon!" He would try to use fly over catching his descent but the masked woman was not about to let him get away so easily.
"We are not done yet Zeus,"
Both a controlled Gaia and Hecatoncheires stopped him mid flight with vines and arms, forcing the god of the thunder to halt his advance.
"Zeus...do not worry about me...kill this thing along wi...," Argos started to choke from the vines squeezing his neck even tighter.
"You must certainly be a masochist still talking when I told you to hush," She said waving her hand ordered Gaia.
Poseidon almost seemed to hit the ground, left uncared he may die here and now but not for the help of the goddesses Artemis catching in the nick of time on her deer she called upon along with the trident. "I've got him!" She said before ordering her pet to dodge the incoming boulder hurled her way from the alpha minotaur.
Apollo and Artemis fired all the magic and arrows they could muster at it, yet It's muscles seemed to barely be scratched.
"No matter how much we give it seems to take only more angered then hurt." Apollo on wolf fired laced his arrows with magic that should've been enough to bring it to it's knee's.
All it did was make the alpha Minotaur more aggressive, no longer wanting to hurl boulders at them ot charged tearing apart the land in it's way.
"No doubt from that woman up there, she had to hsve made this alpha more durable." Artemis furrowed her brow, this back and forth fighting hsd to end but all their attacks did very little. Finally her eyes looked at the trident in hand, the idea of using it would seem to be the only option. "Forgive my Poseidon but I must borrow your weapon. Apollo! Keep it distracted."
"I will do as much as I can!"
The alpha Minotaur kept up the chase with no sign of slowling down, yet with all that muscle mass it lacked agility a type of juggernaut that couldn't turn on dime with a few seconds of time. Apollo used this to his advantage blitzing on Artemis wolf all around, he coming close to getting caught. Finally it had enough jumping into the air catching the god off guard. Then down it went digging it's hoves into the ground so violently the earth all around the area Apollo stood on erupted upwards.
"Damn it all!" He yelled tripping along side the wolf.
Now was an opportunity it couldn't wait to take, charging at both with it's head lowered and horns ready to piece them both.
"Artemis, now!!!"
It couldn't hear the shout from it's bloodlust of the oncoming weapon from behind. The trident with what little power it had left stabbed through it's abdomen sideways. The pain was to great to keep running and it slowed doen skirting on the ground until coming to a complete stop.
"That's one down." Artemis said panting a bit, the power to wield the legendary trident was tough even for someone like her who wasn't use to using something that incredible.
Meanwhile Zeus had reached a conclusion staring down this masked woman, a decision he tried to not come to but there was no other option left.
"Argos, your sacrifice will be remembered. Gaia, I apologize for what I must do."
Zeus summoned a thunderbolt in two hands, Gaia and the hecatoncheires prepared themselves. But instead of firing it at them both he threw his left hand downwards towards the massive feet, the thunderbolt pierced both it's feet. Roaring from all mouths it got on both knees, supporting it's massive body with all arms. The masked woman using her magic to keep herself from falling over. But she knew jt wasn't over he still had one thunderbolt left and that same one was used try and Gaia who had to cover herself snd everyone on top from the blast.
"Very clever, very clever in indeed," she said holding her mask chuckling. "But just as I predicted."
As the vines unwrapped there floating high in the skie was Zeus with both hands in thr air. The sky turned black, lightning lit up the sky, thunder roared there after.
"Look!" One of the Spartans shouted. "King Zeus is about to unleash his full might."
Even Ares who still wrestled with his opponent took a small moment to look at his father. "That abomination will not be able to survive that unsaved.
"You have crossed the line one too many times." Zeus's voice echoed throughout the entire battlefield. "For binding the creator of my thunderbolt, for controlling the mother of the earth, and for unleashing the hecatoncheires." A massive bolt of Olympian lightning struck his hands, the power growing bigger and bigger. "You will be sentenced to d...,"
He stopped his sentencing mid sentence, something sharp piercing his chest. Looking down in shock an arrow was there stuck in deep yet something looked off about, what looked like green liquid dripped out of the wound. Whatever it was it quickly seemed to stop his ultimate attack, he felt weak, dizzy, and nauseous fading in and out of consciousness.
Down below the one who shot it was none other then the woman who started all of this, a bow she seemingly pulled out of her robe pointed right at Zeus.
"X.Marks.The spot hahaha!" She laughed at her achievement.
Being unable to stay afloat the king of Olympus fell from the sky, the dark clouds disappearing in return. Everyone of his allied looked on in horror not knowing what just happened. Gaia's vines wrapped tightly around him from shoulder to feet and now brought him face to face with her master.
"What...did you...do to him!?" Argos asked.
"Oh just something to make your beloved king calm down, much needed for what I've got in store."
"You damn witch!" Aries anger boiled over, yelling pushing the hecatoncheires with all his might down onto the ground. "You will be begging for death when I'm through with you!"
"Oh I don't think so, take him," The masked woman ordered shining the symbol on her hand.
Gaia's symbol shined in return, massive vines with thorns erupted from the earth all around Ares. "What!?" He said before having his arms, torso, and legs wrapped. "Argh!!!" The thorns even managed to penetrate the armor stabbing his flesh. Trying to move even a single muscle was agonizing.
"You need to be brought down in your place mister got of war." She watched as the vines began to glow, sapping rhe energy from him bit by bit until finally Ares was back to regular size but completely sapped of energy and unconscious.
"No!" Apollo raced forward to release Ares. Artemis right behind him unsheathing a special dagger.
They wouldn't get more then an inch before something hit the ground, it was Baraquiel with burn marks all over his body. "Ugh...I'm sorry, I couldn't..." Up above the hecatoncheires that had faced both him and Poseidon managed to get a shot on on the exhausted fallen angel.
"What do we do Artemis!? Artemis?"
Apollo looked back in horror, she and her deer was warpped in vines with thorns having her power sapped as well.
"Artemis! Ugh!"
Suddenly he was grabbed from the wasit by a large hand. The Alpha minotaur that was supposed to be incapacitated looked to be in full strength again. The trident had been pulled out with a vine and around it's torso they gave him the strength to keep fighting. It was extremely pissed kicking the wolf hard away, then slamming the god on the ground over and over again bruised and bloody.
"Art...emis...I'm... sorry," were his last words before the vines wrapped him up from head to toe. Before he faded unconscious his last sights was seeing the Spartans that had fought to hold the line being completely decimated by the main hecatoncheires the maske woman was on from hundreds of it's mouth blast, the battle on these plains was lost.
Olympus Capital City
"Inside everyone NOW!!!"
Every Spartan near the biggest building in the capital city commanded every civilian to get inside. Every soldier did their best to hold the line keeping a safe route to the safest area.
"Keep moving the capital building will keep you safe! Huh?"
Up above multiple harpies flee over head diving down directly on their spot.
"Shields up!"
He commanded what fee Spartans with shields ro defend against their arrows, a defense not needed as something exploded in-between the harpies making each fall to the ground. Everyone looked in confusion until Lydia showed up around the corner carrying a magical sphere she had taken from a burned down shop, slightly damaged but still had some power left in it. She was not alone from behind her a few dozen Spartans she could save was behind her.
"It's Mrs. Lydia!" One called out.
"Men fall back, this area is lost. We must protect the last stronghold we can save." She pointed her spear where citizens ran too.
Everyone roared out in agreement taking whoever was left alive. At the meeting point the soldiers did what they could to use rubble as defensive barries to keep these monsters out. Everyone had to squeeze through as best they could, the sight of the capital building was damaged but not beyond repair.
"I want everyone to watch to watch the defenses no beast gets through."
"Yes ma'am!"
"Need some help?"
The voice from above caught Lydia by surprise. Azazel with Sophia bridal style in his arms appeared.
"I heard rumors Zeus would be in talks with a fallen angel, you must be him." She walked over looking him up and down.
"The one and only," Azazel carefully put walked towards the door putting Sophia doen gently. "You gonna be okay?"
"Yes I'll be fine, thank you again."
"Mrs Sophia!" The call of one of some of her students from the door filled her with joy. "Your alive!"
"I'm glad you children are okay." She was helped up by them carefully placing her inside.
"Keep your teacher safe now," Azazel said with a smirk.
Some students looked at one another never seeing a fallen angel before in their lives. "Hey guys," one whispered out of ear shot from their teacher. "Was that Mrs. Sophia's boyfriend?" One even had the idea of stepping it up further.
"Or her husband!? Why didn't Mrs. Sophia say something?"
"Shhhh be quiet! Don't make accusations like that."
Unfortunately for the students their teacher still had ears thay could hear and she heard every word coming out of their mouths. As much as she wanted to scold them now wasn't the time or place.
Back outside
"So your helping us? I'm surprised given your mot from this realm." Lydia said with a stoic facial expression.
"Let's just say I owe your god a favor and what better way to return by helping out here." The leader of Grigory chuckles but that got a raised eyebrow from her.
"Mrs. Lydia!" One of the Spartans ran up to her. "The North side of the barricades we've spotted what appears to be a Chimera yet bigger then the last!"
"What!!?"
She made her way over, Azazel following in tow. Looking over the barricade the sight was quite terrifying. It was most definitely a chimera, far bigger then any other, no doubt about it this was an alpha. Yet something seemed off about it, light blue marks were all across it's body something no one had ever heard of.
"I'll take care of it," Azazel flew up staring it down. "Never had the pleasure to face something like that so it's a first."
The Grigory leader summoned mass amounts of holy lightning in one hand and shot down at the alpha. The explosion was big, surprising Lydia and the other Spartans of just how much power he had. It seemed like a one shot kill but was quickly put down, the alpha was still moving but it seemed to be moving faster then before and it's lines glowed, it was almost as if had gotten stronger.
"What?" Azazel was left stunned he knew he'd put a lot of power to blow that creature to smithereens. Thinking it was just that durable he fired another holy lightning this time with more power blowing up the buildings around the creature. And yet throw the smoke and debris it emerged faster then ever, yet at the same time it seemed a lot more bulkier.
Lydia was quick to realize what was happening. "Don't fire anymore your just giving it more power!" She held out her hands to stop Azazel, him now realizing as well what was going on.
The chimera started to breathe fire out of it's mouth, the flames burning the ground and everything around it. But soon they began to condense around it's entire body making what looked to be a fire shield around it entire body. Everyone looked in shock, no one had ever seen something like this.
"Get out of the way now!"
Lydia screamed to every Spartan near the barricades. Like a charging flaming juggernaut the chimera burts it's way through the defense like it was a mere nuisance. The flames on it's body slowly shimmering down it stared at every, letting out a roar from all three heads. Every Spartan was quixk to surround it from all sides ready to keep the safe zone protected at all cost.
Ugh I wish I was allowed to bring my gear with me* Azazel growned in his head. His special powers would only make it worse and he didn't exactly have a weapon on him at the moment.
In unison Every Spartan charged at the creature with spears forward. Every spear that stabbed it seemed to do next to nothing, it was as if the skin was steel itself. The chimera swatted away many like flies, it's tail whipping away many in groups.
"We can not let that thing pass at all cost!" Lydia tighten her spear in hand.
"Then I really hope you have plan to somehow this creature," Azazel cracked his knuckles ready to use his fist alone but was then surprised when a sword was tossed his way by Lydia. "It'll do." Though he still wished he had his gear with him.
Turning it's head towards the two it growled two more people to be taken down. Both charged in unison and it in turn charged at them full speed ahead.
Adonis Bunker
Cora, Elais, and Adonis all sat in the bunker waiting out the battle outside. They could hear the chaos outside, inside the place shaked from time to time. Elais was the most frustrated out of the two he felt sitting here and doing nothing to help people was somewhat cowardice.
"I should be up there doing... something!" He paste around the bunker clenching both fist.
"Do what, get killed?" Cora with a stern look disapproved of the idea. "Your mother specifically said to stay down here until it was safe, you saw how destructive it was we barely made it out alive if it hadn't been for her."
"Your friend is right Elais, getting killed will help no one." Adonis had to chime in on Cora's side.
"Ugh I know but..."
"No buts!" Cora had enough of his frustration and raised her voice at her friend. "I get you want to be like your mother but now isn't the time to be thinking like that." That was enough to get Elais to quiet down and listen. "Trying to fight a hord like that is just suicidal and you know it, think about how devestated your mother would be if you got killed playing hero."
Elais side knowing she was right, he still didn't like the idea of doing nothing but she was right and promptly sat down rubbing the back of his head. He though about something he had kept a secret from both Cora and Leon but he guess the time wasn't now.
"Kid, you'll get your chance to show your a good fighter, but that day ain't tod...," Adonis stopped from the sound of something outside the bunker.
"What was that?" Cora looked at Adonis with a worried expression.
"It sounds something just fell outside," Elais put his ear to the door to make sure he wasn't just hearing things.
Again there was another sound outside, glass fell on the floor along with other objects. Yet there was something else that almost sounded like someone or something was walking, and growling at that at well.
"Something's inside the shop," Elais whispered looking at them both to stay quiet.
Whatever was outside made it's way inside the shop to find anyway, and it found a sent leading inside and soon towards the stairs leading to the bunker. It growled finally sniffing the door and this prompted Elais to walk back slowly, Cora whispering for him to come to her side away from it. Suddenly a loud bang from the door made ir crack, the reason not fully was because of the lock adonis had placed and this made Elais fall from the sudden loud sound.
"Dammit!" Adonis ran forward pressing his whole body against the door. "You two stay back!" He was slightly pushed back from the door pushing inward again.
"Adonis!" Elais yelled but was held back by Cora.
"Did you not hear what he said!" She grabbed his arm tightly making sure not to let go.
The door was violently pushed again and again, the cracks getting bigger and bigger. Adonis tried his best to cover it with his arm until suddenly he yelled out in pain. "Argh!!!" When the bartender turned his body there appeared to be a bite mark on his arm.
The sound of barking and growling was heard from the other side, Elais knew too well what it was.
"Adonis!"
He screamed out before the door itself collapsed on the bartender, and there it was, a hellhound right on top of him and the door the only thing keeping it from biting down on the rest of his body.
"G-Go! get out of her now!" Adonis yelled squished beneath the hound, it's three heads bitting the dorr away piece by piece.
One head as if smelling others ceases it's relentless assault looking at the Cora and Elais. Finally the other two heads stopped as well looking up eyeing while baring their fangs.
"Stay behind me!" Elais held out his arms making sire his childhood friend was defended.
"Elais we need to...huh?" She looked surprised from him pulling out a well crafted dagger she'd never seen him have. "Where did you get that!?"
Elais smirked pointing his dagger at the creature. "A lot parting gift mother gave me before we had to take shelter here in case things got ugly. And I don't think this thing is just gonna let us leave."
He was right about that as the hellhound leaped off Adonis and charged straight at him. Elais in response pushed Cora out of the way. "Elais!" She screamed in worry.
But to both her and Adonis's surprise Elais ducked out of the way from all three jaws and slashed across it's side. It yelped in response yet caught it's footing despite bleeding from one side now angrier then before. It seemed like Elais had got a good attack in yet as he slowly turned around he did not come out unscaved.
"Elais your shoulder!" Cora got up to help him but the young man put his hands up.
"Cora stay back it's too dangerous," He revealed s claw mark on his left shoulder, it stung but persisted to hold his ground. "Go to Adonis he needs help now!"
Cora looked at the grown man who was still under the broken holding his wound. "Just be careful you hear me,"
She ran over to Adonis helping him up and putting him over to the corner of the room. Elais looked at them one more time before turning his gaze back the hellhound. "Okay you let's see what your made of."
Asgard
All three girls made their way out of the arena, Thrud looking back worried about her mother and grandparents.
"Have faith Thrud they will be able to hold the hold the portal long enough to keep this realm safe." Hecuba made sure to reassure the strawberry blonde haired goddess.
"I know and thank you. For now we have to stop this invasion and found out how to close the portal."
"It's a safe bet these two things are connected, it can't be just be a coincidence a hord and a hole im the skie happen in just one day." Achillia said.
"Agreed and whoever is responsible will pay," Thrud gripped her axe sparking some electricity.
"The gates are about to break!"
All three girls heard the shouting from above on a tower. The gates could no longer hold the wait of a horde and constant assault from above forced many to fall back.
"Damn we need to hurry!" Thrud raced past the two almost leaving the them behind were it not for their well strengthed muscles keeping pace.
The gates to Asgard pushed inward again and again until final it could no longer hold and came toppling down almost crushing the einherjars. The horde of constructed figured came marching in full strength, the clamping of thousands of feet could be heard for miles. Finally all three made it to what was left of the gate, the einherjar and other warriors that weren't injure fighting desperately to keep them back despite being a losing battle.
"What in the world are these things!?" Achillia and the others looked at the hord of thousands that went on for miles outside.
They readied their weapons for combat but the the constructs did not move anyone puzzling everyone. Suddenly they all began to step to the side in unison for someone to walk by. Achillia, Hecuba, and Thrud were stunned to see who was coming.
"Einar?" Asked Hecuba watching him walk up but was the back of a construct that was in the shape of a bear practically bigger then an average one.
"What is going on here, Einar what is all this?" Thrud genuinely concerned what he was doing with these things.
"Justice, that is what this is Thrud," Einar said before looking up at the portal. "Everything your grandfather has done will be punished, this is only the start."
The blonde goddess looked at him completely baffled by what he was saying, this talk of revenge even though he was one their most proud warriors.
Hecuba stepped forward still conflicted at what was going on. "I don't understand Einar, this is your home and you'll see it nearly brought to ruins?"
Einar gritted his teeth, snapping at that word with anger. "This supposed "Home" is nothing but a world build on a corpse. It's history nothing but violence from a madman so eager to know all and kill whoever he wants!"
No one had ever seen this side of him, it was like, no, he is an entirely different person and somehow always had been.
Achillia was the first to snap out of this supposed betrayal and looked around not seeing Leon, Bennia, or Rossweisse. "Einar! Where are they? Where are Leon and the others!?" She said and was very worried not seeing them.
The warrior looked down and sighed before looking her in the eyes. "You won't be seeing Leon again, he is not dead but he was needed elsewhere. The others if the dealers are most merciful..."
Achillia's eyes went wide not fullt processing what he had just said out of his mouth. "What do you mean he won't be coming? Where are they? What did you do to Leon and the others!" She yelled out demanding answers.
Thrud gripled her axe even more tightly, the very idea someone would hurt, let alone kill, her best friend made the goddess blood boil. "What.did.you.DO!!!" Lightning sparked all around her body.
"You have a lot to answer for Einar!" Hecuba pointed her sword at him ready to do what must be done.
Einar shook his head disapproving to the threats thrown his way, raising his hand above his head his construct stood on both back legs easily dwarfing everyone in height. "Dispers," He ordered it to slam it's body on the ground, doing so sent shockwaves to everyone minus his arm.
"Hold on!" Achillia tried to plant her weapon in the ground yet the gust of wind was strong enough to throw her and everyone else so far back into the city.
"I will not be denied this chance," Einar snapped his fingers calling forth a flying construct that latched onto his back and flew him up. "Take care if them." All the constructs, even the giant one that had pushed everyone away, marched into the city destroying every home, diner, park, that was in there way.
"This is going to be a lot tougher then we though." Hecuba dusted herself off. "That big one will be a lot of trouble we have to get rid of it."
Thrud shook her head standing up mot bothered by how mucj power was thrown in there way. No, I'll take care of the big one, you two help the others and if possible find out whatever is keeping these portals open."
Achillia had a sturn look at the goddess, "What! Thrud your strong but you don't need to face it alone."
"We can't be huddled together in one group," She bit back raising her voice. "We don't have much of a defense against something like this, being in one place won't help the others."
"She's right Schill," Hecuba placed a hand on her shoulders. "We need to at least find out who's keeping that portal open and when we do the gods can help us turn the tide. I'll help out down here but you'll need to stop Einar from killing Odin."
Achillia couldn't deny she was right, how long they could keep the elements of Mushpelhiem and Helheim in check was anybody's guess. They were still vulnerable and if, and speaking of Einar they could see him flying in the air along with other flying constructs, she needed to move fast.
"Stay safe both of you." Achillia said before climbing and jumping from building to building.
"You as well," Hecuba looked to Thrud, "Both of you," before running off to aid in another area.
Thrud smirked twirling her axe at the oncoming bear like creation. "I won't lose to some hunk of junk like this."
Her opponent came crashing through a building right on top of her, it was pretty fast for it's size but that just meant this'll be more fun. Thrud ducked out of the way avoiding it's huge paws, the weight clear with creating a hole in the ground.
"I'm so gonna enjoy taking my anger out on you and to your master." She said before charging right at.
Meanwhile Einar looked up seeing Odin along with the other gods and goddesses helping to keep the portal from expanding.
"It's a shame you so many have come to your aid monster, but so...," The constructs wings blocked an incoming weapon, a spear from Achillia who'd nearly got her target. "You...," He glared at her.
"I'm not letting you do this Einar, if I have to kill you I will," she grabbed her families Spear ready to throw it again.
"I do not have time to play with you, take care of her!"
Einar held out his hands commanding multiple constructs to come in front of him. One by one then began to combine together, shifting forms until finally dropping right on the building Achillia was on.
"Damn!" She jumped out of the way onto the ground watching debris fly everywhere.
What was left quickly blew away and out came a large humanoid construct, four arms and two wings staring her down. Einar smirked and took this chance to fly away while with the opening.
"Get back here!" She tried to chase after but the contrust blocked her path slamming all four arms onto the ground. Her view was temporarily gone frkm all the dirt in the air. "That coward, ah!" She ducked down from an incoming fist that nearly punched her head. Another came right at her which prompted the Spartan to use her staff to jump out of the way. "I have to defeat this thing do I can get through, just hold on a bit everyone I'll make sure he pays for this!"
Hecuba made her way across the city slashing oncoming constructs, no matter how many she cut downore were there simply more to take their places.
"It's a never ending fight here, I can only keep this up for so long." She said avoiding a sword coming her to which she parried. Using it's blind side she kneed ot in the stomach pushing it back. "Damn! It's almost like hitting stone." She rubbed her knee at the pain to slowly go away.
Suddenly flying constructs came souring down from above taking the Spartan nearly by surprise. Knowing she was easy prey out in the open Hecuba slashed her way through constructs after construct that blocked the path in a narrow way between buildings.
Yet they still kept coming, this time more came from the other path, the flying ones had to squeeze down hindering their flight. From all directions left and right all ways they were closing in bit by bit.
"I'm trapped in here, come on come there needs to be a door," Hecuba looked around desperately, her mind racing to create enough space to get through this horde As if the gods granted luck to the Spartan she noticed a door on her left slightly opened. "Now's my chance!" Racing as fast as she could Hecuba slipped through just enough to get in, slam the door shut, and with quick thinking pulled down a massive drawe doon blocking the path.
She breathed heavily as if just getting done with a marathon run. "Huff...huff...that should then off for a bit."
The banging could be heard from outside, they'd have broken through if they weren't so tightly grouped together but it was unluckily they'd tire anytime soon. Taking this chance Hecuba looked around to see if anyone was inside, if so she needed to get him, her, or a family to safety.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" Silence was the only thing that met her. This place seemed to be abandoned but she couldn't shake off someone had to be here possibly scared to death.
Downstairs, upstairs, even the basement she quickly checked but there was no one. This place definitely had to be abandoned. "No one's here then, time to move one...hm?"
Out of the corner of her eye she saw something shine, shining underneath what seemed to be a secret door on the ground under the table stand. There clearly had to be someone hiding underneath. She walked towards it ready to knock until the sound of muttering could be heard.
"How much longer must we keep the portal open?"
"Until Einar kills the gods and the sacking of Asgard is complete."
"He must do it fast then, this ritual will not last long."
Hecuba's eyes widen, these people whoever they were are in league with Einar eager to destroy this place. "No way in Tartarus will that happen," She said before taking her well crafted blade and slashing across the locks over and over again.
"What is that!? Some has found us!"
"Quickly we must...,"
Thay sentence wasn't finished, the Spartan broke the locks and ran into the secret room in the ceiling running fast until she saw three hooded individuals standing above a magic circle with a crutch in the middle.
"So your the people responsible for this madness, your going to come with me whether or not I have to drag you by force!" The Spartan pointed her sword at them along with getting into a fighting stance with her shield.
"Kill her!" One hooded individual commanded to which the other two did without hesitation firing magic blast.
Unfortunately for them Hecuba was more then use to fighting people who wielded magic. Her crafted sword was made to attack and defend against such. Blocking with her shield to deflect their attacks she ducked down and side stepped out of their sight. With a full opening she bashed one of them with her shield, the other robbed person fired another which Hecuba promptly slashed in half.
"W-What t...," A shield to his face as well practically broke his nose and rendering the attacker unconscious, clearly these magic wielders were not skilled dealing with close combat.
"Y-You damn spartan...," the final hooded person stepped back against the wall.
"Now then are you going to come peacefully or do I need to do what I did your friends?" The spartan walked slowly forward ready to strike should her try anything.
"You have not one! Simply delayed the inevitable...," with thise final words he raised his hand, Hecuba getting ready to render him unconscious but instead he whispered words she didn't understand and suddenly disappeared along with the crystal.
"Dammit!" She ran trying to catch him but was already gone. A set back but a new opportunity since she now knew there were people involved. Walking over to one magic user still awake yet growned from the swollen cheek he flinched from the incoming Spartan. "Your friend, where is he and how many of ylu are there?"
"Tch, you think I'll just sell them out? You can just go to hell?"
"Them? So there are more of you then," Hecuba grinned at that one slip up he'd made. "Very good to know."
"No..I-I mean...Agh!!!" He cough from the knee to his gut by his capter and was now being dragged up top along with his allie.
Underground Cavern
"I really hope you've got an idea here," Bennia readied her scythe.
"We can't stay in one spot but at the same time with move away they have the numbers to pick us off," Rossweisse deduced the situation.
"We need to think something fast then, we're going to make it out of here," Leon readied his hydra powered blade.
They've got us completely outnumbered here, and they cam keep us at a distance. Bennia could use her portals to get close but she'd be an open target for others since they know what she can do...
What about...what was it we read back in Olympus? Divide and conquer?
Divide and Conquer?... That's right! Phyra your a genius!
The spirit blushed from the praise putting both hands on her reddish cheeks I'm simply just helping b-but thank you!
Leon now looked to both girls nodding his head, "It's risky but we'll have to divide their group, split them up so they aren't huddled together."
"I see, with them huddled up together in a circle they have power over us but split them up...,"
Said rossweisse to which Bennia responded "They can kiss there there little circle bye bye and we can get away."
"Kill those teo heathens!" Freed ordered as he fired his gun.
Leon did his best to block each shot aimed at Bennia and Rossweisse. The hard part was the magic users firing magic shots agained and again.
"No you don't!" Rossweisse made a runic shield to block their attacks.
Had she not suffered the gun shot wound to the leg she'd be feeling at full strength right now. But that was where Leon and Bennia came in tag teaming to divide the group. Leon moved around the shield slashing against every attack to take some of the heat.
"Gotcha!" He yelled turning his blade sideways and hitting one of Freed's bullets almost like a baseball bat sending it back.
"Shit!" The priest ducked his head avoiding a headshot. "Argh when I get my hands on...,"
"Now bennia!" Leon shouted.
The younf reaper who was behind the runic shield appeared behind the magic users catching them by surprise.
"Let's see you dodge this one," She yelled slashing her scythe hitting the bullet also like a baseball bat.
Freed realized it was heading for him again and moved out the way, the bullet hitting one of mages in the arm making him yell out in pain. The others not wanting to get shot ducked down.
Rossweisse brought down her shield and fired multiple runic attacks. To their surprised the ones in the front conjured up a shield blocking the runic assault.
"Grrr you people are suppose to be good in a group not cowards so fire back!" Freed pointed his fingers at all three.
The mages each fired in all directions through rhe barried in such a frenzied state all three had to move to find cover. Leon quickly grabbed Rossweisse over his shoulders running to a nearby cover.
"Woah woah woah!!!" Bennia did her best to use her scythe to block but it was too much fire power so she floated behind cover as well.
"Hahahaha! How do you like this you sinful hethans!" Freed stuck out his tongue loving the sight of people cowering for safety.
"Ugh this boulder won't be able to hold for long," Rossweisse said ducking his head as best he could.
"I might have a way, it's quick thinking but we don't have much of a choice. Rossweisse." He asked the Valkyrie, "Can you give my my shield a rune?"
"I can but under this much fire it won't last long so whatever your gonna do you need to do it fast."
"That's definitely the plan. Bennia!" He called out to the reaper, "One my signal you'll get up close and use your portal."
"Understood, better not tell Achillia or Hera your being risky," She joked yet nodded to the plan.
Be careful Leom
I will Phyra
"Come on out you little shits so I can gut you myself haha."
As if Freed's words were being obeyed Leon rushed out of cover, charging with his gauntlet shield infused with runic magic.
"Suicidal huh? Your making my job easy now! Let's see how much you csn hold that shield until you can't anymore," Freed took his gun firing along with the mages.
Magic and bullets jumped off Leon's shield but he could tell the runic was fading fast he needed to be quick.
"Almost," He force of the blast was slowing his doen but he kept going forward. "Almost...," Finally the runic shattered lowering his defense but still kept going. "Almost...NOW! BENNIA!"
On que Bennia opened a portal underneath Leon's feet. This shocked the priest and the mages thinking he was going to pop up in another area of the cavern. It was something that got proven wronged, Leon appeared inside the barrier and with one single bash hit Freed square under his jaw. From the shock and fear the mages couldn't keep the barrier strong and freed came crashing out, they themselves stopped firing eager to get away.
"Now rossweisse!"
Leon shouted and got down on the ground, the Valkyrie appeared out of hiding and with as much as she could muster while dealing with the pain from her leg she fired a barrage of magic blast hitting every single last mage off their feet and into the walls unconscious.
"Huff...huff...we...we...did it!"
You were amazing Leon, thank goodness your alright!
Thanks Phyra
"Phew talk about a risk taker their champ," Bennia while carrying Rossweisse walked over to help Leon up.
"Team work makes the dream work right," He chuckled.
Rossweisse giggled a bit at that quote. "That is does I'm impressed with your quick thinking. You as well Bennia," that made the young mischievous reaper grin like she was getting all the praise.
"Now let's get out of her, we have to stop Einar and will need the others for help,"
Cough, cough "Hah... it's far to late...to think about... leaving...," Freed still awake yet was bleeding from the mouth.
"I don't who you are or why your specifically doing this but it's over. Be glad your still alive cause our leaders will have questions for you." Leon sternly replied to Freed.
"H-Hah...no way in hell...," He slowly got towards his feet making everyone be on guard. "You Leon, your simply just to much trouble." He spat out blood before continuing while having a massibe grin, "We still have the other swords, your loss won't be much so...,"
He held out his hands up towards the ceiling, in a few seconds suddenly the entire cavern shook violently, the trio barely keeping there footing.
"What did you do!?" Leon demanded.
"Enjoy your underwater grave Pagans..." With that suddenly a magic circle appeared under both Freed and the other mages. He grinned like mad waving goodbye before he snd the others were teleported away.
"Son of a...," Bennia was cut off from water started to fall from the ceiling. "That had to have been a bomb he set off!"
Suddenly the entrance gushed out huge chugs of sea water, the group began to panic.
"Rossweisse can you use the bifrost? We need to leave now!" Bennia yelled out loud.
"I can't! I don't know how but I can't acces it!" The Valkyrie tried again and again but nothing happened.
"Darn it there has to be a way out of here! Leon looked around desperately but there wasn't anything, his movements became slow with the water rising close to his knee's.
No no no! We can't die here! We promised to get back, there has to be a way there has to be!!! Phyra can you see anything?
No I can't I don't see any entrances the only one we came through is completely flooded...
There has to be someway!
Leon closed his eyes prepared for the worst, this place would actually be where he'd die, a cruel way of being drowned alive.
I promised them I'd come back, I...huh?
Slowly opening his eyes he felt dry, as if the water on his legs that should've felt cold simply vanished. Yey that wasn't the only thing he noticed, the sounds of water coming down simply silenced; in fact the waters weren't moving at all. It was as if ther froze in place.
"W-What's going on here? Bennia, Rossweisse are you seeing this? Guys?"
He looked back to his allies and was stunned to see they weren't moving, it was as if they were frozen in time. He walked up to them easily as the water didn't slow his movements.
"Guys are you okay?" Waving his hands in theur face, poking, and trying to shake them but they didn't budge it was as if they were complete statues.
It's like they're frozen in time, Phyra can you explain this?...Phyra can you hear me?
"Your friends, even that spirit, are not available for conversation Leon."
The young man jumped at the sudden unexpected voice out of nowhere. He looked around yet there was no one insight.
"Hello! Who's there?"
"Last I checked you have eyes young one, best to use what you've been given since birth."
Locking on to the voice Leon looked up above on the hydra they'd brought down. There sat a hooded person, legs crossed, and arms folded. The color of the robe was two colors, Black on one side and purple on the other.
"Who are you?" Leon asked curiously.
"Who I am is not important, what is important is how disappointed I am of you," The hooded figure, from hearing Leon could tell was a woman.
"Disappointed...in me?"
The battle across two ancient realms has gotten intense. Gods fall or will be felled, cities being being destroy in a surprise attack from beast amd created constructs it does not look like either will survive. Leon and the others defeated Freed and his accomplises yet now are at the mercy of drowing with no help in sight. Except for supposedly this mysterious who seems to have her eye on Leon. Is she friend or foe? More to come in the next chapter.
