CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT: TRAINING

The Tenrou team, having decided their participation in the Grand Magic Games, scatter in various areas in order to train and be able to keep up with this era.

At the Beach...

"People! We didn't come here to have fun!" Carla informed.

"That's right!" Happy agreed.

"You tell us that, dressed like that?" Droy asked.

"Of course, we know that. The key is variation." Erza said. "Play hard, eat a lot, sleep a lot!"

"You're leaving out training, the most important point of all!" Jet stated.

"By the time this training camp is over..."

"...you'll at least be able to beat us." Jet finished with a cocky grin.

Natsu and Aira knock them out of the way as they sprint, causing Jet and Droy to fly in the sky. "The sea!"

"Alright!" They run to the sea and start competing against each other.

"Swimming race!"

"Sand castle building contest!"

"Eating contest!"

"Suntan contest!"

They soon end their competition and stretch out their muscles. "What do you say we go back to the inn and take a nap?" Natsu suggested.

"You can go ahead. I'm going to start training." Aira declined.

"They enjoyed the hell out of this..." Jet commented.

"Well, I guess we can cut them some slack on the first day." Droy said.

Meanwhile, the other members of Fairy Tail begin their training in different areas.

With Team Natsu, Natsu practices his fire while being underwater.

From afar, Aira watches fire rise from the water. "I can't let myself lose to him..." He mumbled to himself.

"Are you joining me for training or not?" Satsuki asked, causing Aira to turn and seeing Cain next to Satsuki.

"Yeah." Aira replied. "Where's Boris? Thought he'd be with you."

"He went to train with Gajeel and Lily." Satsuki explained, making Aira nod as he followed her to the forest to do their own training.

Throughout the beach, the other members are training. Lucy summons Capricorn to help her with her training. Gray, Juvia, and Erza are practicing their Magic by themselves and Levy is helping Wendy read the notes given to her by Porlyusica, while Happy encourages Natsu as he sprints through the beach with two big tires tied to his waist.

As the group relaxes, Lucy points to the stars and the group begins to wonder what the other members are doing if they are looking at the stars just like them. Lucy then decides that she will put more effort into her training.

Three months later...

"Earth Dragon's Rock Spire!" Satsuki shouted out, summoning large sharp spires from the ground.

Aira swiftly moved around them before summoning water from his feet. "Water Dragon's Jet Claw!"

Satsuki quickly reacted, stomping her foot on the ground as a slab of earth appeared, putting a stop to the water. "You've gotten a lot better these past three months." She complimented.

"So have you." Aira smiled as they went to meet with the others.

"Everyone! We got tired of waiting for you!" Jet and Droy run over to them. Aira, Satsuki, and Cain catch up to them.

"The Grand Magic Games are just five days away!" Droy informed. "I bet you guys trained your hearts out, huh?"

"Satsuki and I are ready for the tournament." Aira added.

They all remained silent.

"It's over..." They muttered. Natsu, Gray, and Erza all fall forward. Wendy begins to cry.

Lucy screams to the sky while shaking her fist. "Mustache! Give us back our time!"

Later...

They all lie against a rock, sulking and depressed over they lost training time. "Our precious training time..." Natsu groaned.

"We just spent one day in the Celestial Spirit World..." Happy whined.

"...and three months went by in a flash." Gray added.

"What should we do?"

"Princess! I have a proposal!" Virgo exclaimed. "Punish me even more."

"Why don't you go home?" Lucy suggested.

All of the guilds consider their entry for the Grand Magic Games.

Back at the Beach...

"Even though there are only five more days 'til the Grand Magic Games..." Satsuki started to say.

"...your magic power hasn't improved at all!" Aira concluded.

Natsu jumps up in surprise. "And where the hell were you all this time?!"

"Satsuki and I spent time training in our elements! Unlike you, I trained my ass off!" Aira yelled back.

"Don't go thinking you're stronger than me!" Natsu snapped, pushing Aira with their foreheads together.

"I'm three months stronger than you, ya pyro!" The two Dragon Slayers continued to bicker.

"It looks like all we can do this time is rely on the others." Levy said. Juvia sighs in defeat.

"The gap between my strength and Boris's and Lily's has widened again." Happy whined.

Wendy, Carla, and Cain are surprised to hear that from Happy. "You cared about that?"

Erza suddenly stands up with a dark aura like fire revolving around her, breaking the fight between Natsu and Aira. "Even now, it's not too late! We can train like hell these last five days! All of you steel yourselves! We're not going to have time to sleep!"

"Erza's fighting spirit is on fire!" Gray commented.

"Sounds good to me! I'm fired up about training like hell!" Natsu agrees with Erza's plan.

"Alright! Follow me! We'll start with running!" Erza said in determination, but something interrupts her as feathers fly down. She looks up and finds a white piegon on top of her head. A letter on its leg arrives, which is an invitation to Fairy Tail to the broken bridge. Although Lucy, Levy, and Carla explain that it's probably a trap, Natsu and Erza say they should check it out.

As they traveled, they met Jellal, Ultear, and Meredy once again, but they formed an independant guild called Crime SorciƩre, whose single purpose is to erase all the darkness brought by Zeref and the Dark Guilds. They came to give Fairy Tail another chance to win the Games, while also investigating a source of great yet ominous Magic Power.

Soon after this, Ultear attempts to unlock Natsu's Second Origin first. As Gray, Lucy, and the other Mages see the pain Natsu is going through, they begin to have second thoughts about it.

Aira, Satsuki, and Cain are watching from atop a cliff as Aira and Satsuki were snickering to themselves. "We're lucky we don't have to go through that, huh Satsuki?" Aira asked.

"Yeah." Satsuki agreed. "Three months of hellish training without any breaks paid off..."

Meanwhile...

Erza soon reunites with a former foe, Jellal, and the two recall their past and mistakes.

A/N: Sorry for such a short chapter!

I honestly can't wait for Aira to meet Sting and Rogue in the next chapter! Since he's technically a Third Generation too. He just doesn't know it :)

Thanks for reading!
