As Emeraldblade and her team were beginning their journey to Louisville, Blitzo began investigating for any clues as to the whereabouts of the mercenaries Verosika was holding hostage.
This was not an easy task for the leader of I.M.P, especially given that he and his co-workers were trained assassins, not detectives. Nonetheless, knowing that the payout would likely be big given that Lucifer Morningstar was involved, he decided to take up this unorthodox mission.
For several days, he and his daughter Loona searched around the various rings of Hell in search of these humans, whom he had no clue what they looked like. In an attempt to double their effort, the two of them decided to split to cover more ground.
One of Blitzo's many stops was to the Lust Ring where he decided to travel to a notorious restaurant and night club that acted as the centerpiece of the ring: Oozie's. The imp recalled that the last time he was there, he was confronted (albeit briefly) by his ex-girlfriend Verosika, but there was a problem: he didn't book a reservation ahead of time, likewise because he was a single man, he couldn't enter the establishment as it was a couple's only entertainment venue. Fortunately, there was one person who worked there that was in good terms with the imp: his childhood friend Fizzarolli.
Blitzo called the venue to talk to his old friend, and fortunately for him he was willing to take some time off to visit him.
The two met in Blitzo's apartment to discuss the issue privately.
"Okay Blitzo," Fizzarolli asked, "What shit have you gotten yourself into this time? Another fire perhaps?"
Blitzo was initially annoyed, "Oh you had to fucking bring that up again…"
The imp shrugged it off before cutting to the topic at hand.
"Okay listen Fizz, do you know anything about my old girlfriend Verosika Mayday?" he asked.
"Tall succu-bitch, occasional patron of Oozie's, yeah I know the slut you're talking about," Fizzarolli smirked, "Last I recall, she embarrassed you at the venue when you were there previously."
"Yeah yeah…" Blitzo groaned, "Well the reason I called you here is because according to my newest client, Verosika kidnapped four humans, whom she and her posse are holding hostage; they also claim that she is holding Charlie Morningstar hostage as well somewhere."
Fizzarolli's eyes lit up.
"Wait a minute…are you working with…fleshies? And isn't Charlie Morningstar THE princess of hell?!" Fizzarolli burst out laughing, "Oh boy Blitzo, what fucking shenanigan have you gotten yourself into this time?"
Blitzo rolled his eyes.
"Look, I took up the job because I had no choice," he explained, "Apparently the client of mine had a friend of hers who was close to Lucifer Morningstar…"
"The King of Hell," Fizzarolli commented.
"Exactly Fizz," Blitzo answered, "Anyways, I was forced to do their shit for them, otherwise if I didn't, he'd probably have me and my co-workers on the list for the next annual extermination."
"Oh shit…" Fizzarolli replied.
Blitzo nodded, "I know, but back to the issue at hand, do you have any clue as to where I can find these fles-I mean humans?"
Fizzarolli's smile turned upside down as he sighed in disappointment, "Unfortunately old friend, I'm afraid I'm no help to you. My boyfriend likes to keep our patron's info classified as a form of privacy, and even with his help, we can't be fully certain we'll find her proper address since as you know; she is a celebrity after all."
Blitzo groaned, "Well, thanks for the help anyways Fizz, even if it got me nowhere."
"Hey, I'm sorry you got yourself into this fucking predicament, I wish I could help in anyway."
Blitzo thought for a moment, and then it hit him.
"Maybe there is Fizz, maybe there is…" he replied, "I'll keep you in touch."
Meanwhile elsewhere in Hell, Loona was searching a completely different ring for any clues to finding these humans Emeraldblade asked her to find.
She decided to visit the Gluttony Ring in order to find Vortex, Verosika's personal bodyguard, who was known to frequent this particular ring. Despite the fact that her father and Vortex's employer were enemies, the two hellhounds were close friends. Loona hoped that by at least letting him hear her out, perhaps he may relent in some way.
Upon arriving, she decided to make her way to Beelzebub's mansion, hoping that the embodiment of gluttony herself wasn't still mad after the predicament she had with her the last time she was there.
Loona rang the doorbell, and sure enough, the first person to answer it was the Queen Bee herself.
"Oh it's you…" Beelzebub commented.
"Okay Bee, I know you're probably still mad at me the last time my dad and I were hear, but I came to ask you something."
"Make it quick Sour Cream," Bee replied, "I got a party to host later tonight."
Loona was offended by the insult Bee called her, just like the last time she was there, but nonetheless she kept her cool and continued talking.
"Listen, I don't want any trouble, but do you know where Vortex is?" she asked.
Beelzebub's smug look turned to one of annoyance.
"Is this about the fact that he's my boyfriend and not yours?" she asked annoyingly.
Loona gritted her teeth, "No jackass, I came to ask him about his boss."
Beelzebub was now concerned, "Your dad's ex, what about her?"
"Well, according to a client of his, she kidnapped four human friends of hers and is holding them hostage somewhere."
"It sounds like your dad's in for a lot of shit once again…" Beelzebub replied.
"I know, don't mention it," Loona agreed, "Well since Vortex is her bodyguard, I was wanting to know if he was around here."
Bee just stared.
"Look, if I don't find them soon, Verosika is going to make all of them sex slaves for life," Loona explained, "To make matters worse for my dad and I, if we don't find these humans soon, OUR lives will also be on the line too."
Beelzebub sighed, "Sorry girlfriend, but I'm afraid Tex has left with his boss, last he told me they and a few members of her posse are heading to a place on Earth called Louisville."
"Shit…" Loona grunted, "Well thanks for the information at least."
"Hey, maybe you should stay for a while and have a cocktail? Maybe it will loosen you up a little with this whole mess you and your dad are in."
"No, I'm good," she replied, "I need to get going."
Beelzebub looked at her with disappointment, but nonetheless understood why Loona refused her offer.
"I see, well if something turns up, I'll give you a holler on your phone."
Later that day, Blitzo and Loona regrouped back at I.M.P Headquarters, there they assessed their findings.
"So dad, what did you find out?" Loona asked.
"Unfortunately, everyone I asked, including my pal Fizz didn't know what the hell I was talking about," Blitzo responded, "Serves me right, what about you Loony?"
"Same thing with Bee, she hadn't seen shit about these humans our client is so desperate to rescue," she replied, "On top of that, Vortex was nowhere near her hangout."
Blitzo facepalmed himself.
"Crap." He cursed, "Now I know why my sister resents me…"
Loona huffed.
"If only one of those humans were here to give us a lead; that would be a game-changer."
Meanwhile in the unknown location where the mercenaries were being held hostage, Demoman was wailing in agony.
"OOH, we're a sorry bunch of losers mates." he complained.
"You said that like FIFTY TIMES you drunken imbecile!" Spy chastised his comrade.
"Whateva Spy, but in any case, this is a real freakin' embarrassment," Scout commented.
"Fess…" Medic hissed.
"You said it doc," Demoman agreed, "We've really hit rock bottom."
"Ugh…" Scout groaned, "We can't languish here forever, if only there was some way we can get outta this hellhole.
Spy yawned in boredom, only to feel something from his pocket fall out and drop onto the floor. When he looked down he noticed something very intriguing. To the normal person, the object in question looked like an ordinary pocket watch, but to Spy it was more, it was the key to getting out of the makeshift prison. Upon noticing this object, Spy smirked.
"Gentlemen," he spoke up, catching his friends' attention, "I think I just found a way to get out of here…"
I am sorry I didn't post this chapter sooner, recently I've had to put this story on hold due to working overtime at my job, and just after that ended, I came down with a nasty cold. Fortunately, both these issues have since passed, so hopefully you'll be seeing me post new chapters on a regular basis once more. Thanks for your understanding, and I promise the next chapter will be out soon.
