The Moon's Flame: Chapter 04
Inside Natsu's house, there were two people with very different mindsets, staring at one another.
One was a blonde naked beauty who was displaying her body with absolutely no shame. She was looking at the other person with a smile, clearly amused at his reaction.'So innocent,' Selene, the moon dragon, thought at her host's behavior.
The other person – a pink-haired and equally naked man who was trying to cover his body – was looking everywhere in the room except at the blonde beauty, his blushing face a clear evidence of his emotions.
Natsu didn't know how he had ended up in this position. First, the noticeable changes in his house, which were weird, sure, but he thought that he could have handled it better if it wasn't for the other strange thing in his room.
That woman. That naked woman was looking at him, glancing at his body with no shame at her own nudity! It was very disturbing. And embarrassing.
Don't misunderstand him; he was not that bashful normally. But then, having the attractive naked lady that kicked his ass yesterday look at him like he was a piece of meat was... it was awkward as hell! Even his own composure had limits.
Trying not to look at the show that she was providing, Natsu was about to ask her to cover herself when she spoke.
"Come on, Natsu. It is still too early," she said as she started to crawl on all four on the bed toward him, giving him a good show of her breast and making him even more stiff. In more ways than one. "Come back to bed," she said. She then added with a sultry voice. "Or instead of sleeping, maybe you will prefer that we continue where we left off yesterday?" she asked, looking at his body and biting her lips.
Natsu's brain froze at her words. He didn't know what to say. Had... Had something happened last night that he didn't remember? Did–Did the two...?
But before he could formulate a response, Selene started laughing.
"HAHAHAH!" She laughed as she rolled on the bed. "You are too easy to tease, child!" She said while still laughing.
He looked at her confused for a moment before her words registered. 'Is... Is she mocking me?' He thought, narrowing his eyes in anger.
"What the hell, lady!" Natsu said, pointing at her. "What are you doing here and what have you done to my house!?" He asked her angrily.
Selene managed to calm herself a little and answered.
"I–I am sorry Natsu," she said while wiping the tears off her face. "Your reactions are just too amusing," she said, now more calm.
Seeing his still annoyed face, she added. "Since we are already awake, why don't we have breakfast and talk," she asked. Seeing his still-raised hand, she lowered her eyes and added. "And you might want to dress up. I always welcome a good show while having breakfast, but you might find it awkward," she said, still smirking.
Natsu followed her eyes and rapidly covered himself once more while giving her an even more annoyed look.
The already-dressed dragon and dragon slayer were in a bakery in Magnolia, both sitting in front of each other and having breakfast.
Selene, wearing a white dress that she had bought yesterday while Natsu was unconscious, was calmly eating a strawberry cake that her partner had recommended to her. While Natsu was drinking an orange juice and looking at the woman in front of him with his eyes narrowed.
He didn't know what her deal was. She showed up at his house out of nowhere, slept in his hammock, challenged him to a fight, beat him unconscious and then slept with him in a bed that she still hadn't told him where it came from.
Was she playing with him? Was she lying to him when she said that she knew something about Igneel? But her scent...
She still smelled like a dragon. If she really was one, she might know something about his father. He couldn't let this opportunity pass.
Seeing her stop eating for a moment, he decided that it was his chance.
"Lady," he asked her. She raised her eyes at him. "Who are you? Are you really a dragon? What were you doing in my house? What issue do you need my help with?" Natsu started asking her without letting her say anything.
Seeing his eagerness, she smiled and raised a hand, signaling him to stop.
"Woah, not so fast," she said, making him stop. "Don't worry, I will answer your questions, but slow down for now," she said.
Natsu was impatient. It was understandable, he had spent years looking for his father and he had finally found someone who could give him some answers.
But she was right. She couldn't answer anything if he didn't let her speak.
Taking a deep breath, he asked her more calmly.
"Sorry, I am just anxious," he said, trying to be more patient. "Who are you? Are you really a dragon?" He cringed at his words. He couldn't help but ask two questions.
Selene chuckled a little at his reaction and said.
"It is alright," she said, relaxing him a little. "As I said before, my name is Selene and yes, I am a Dragon. A Moon dragon, to be more specific," she said, making his eyes widen.
She was a dragon. Finally, he found another dr– wait a minute.
"How could you be a dragon? You look like a human!" He exclaimed.
She gave another bite to her cake before saying.
"All dragons are capable of transforming to some extent. It made it easier to live with the comforts that humans develop. And for other more... enjoyable activities," Selene practically purred the last phrase, making Natsu blush.
'Damn this woman and her constant teasing,' he thought.
But that didn't matter. What was important was that she was a real dragon.
"Then–Then do you know what happened to Igneel? Where has he been all these years?" 'Is he even alive?' He also wanted to ask but couldn't. He refused to even consider the possibility.
Igneel was alive. He was sure of it.
Having finally finished her breakfast, she responded.
"Yes, I know where he is, but I can't tell you," she said, making him frown.
"Wha– Why!?" He said, standing up. "If you know something about Igneel, you have to tell me right now!" Natsu shouted at her as the temperature started to rise.
Seeing this, Selene sighed. 'So impatient,' she thought.
She left the money for the food on the table and created a portal beneath his feet, making him fall through it.
"Waa–" Were his last words before landing on his backside in the same clearing where they fought yesterday. There were still scorch marks all over the place.
A moment later, she appeared through another portal and looked at him with a frown on her face.
Selene was starting to lose her patience with this brat. She could tolerate a lot of things, but having someone weaker than her talk to her like that was not one of them.
She was not in Guiltina anymore but that didn't mean that he would tolerate any kind of disrespect.
She pointed at him and with a stern voice said.
"Listen here brat," she said looking at his form on the ground. "If memory serves me right, we made a bet yesterday. A bet that you lost," she said, making him shrink and look away. "Now, per our agreement, you are to help me, not the other way around. Is that clear?" The blonde woman asked as the heat surrounding him started to decrease.
Natsu stayed a moment in silence before answering.
"Yes," he whispered in defeat.
"I thought that the son of Igneel would at least keep his word once he gave it," she said.
Natsu lowered his eyes at her words, and the heat in him finally extinguished.
They remained silent for a few moments before he said.
"Sorry," he finally said, his eyes still on the ground.
Selene kept looking at him in silence, waiting to see if he would give some kind of excuse. But seeing that he didn't say anything, she continued the conversation.
"Now before you so suddenly start making demands of me, something that you will never do again if you know what is good for you," she said threateningly, making him shiver. He still remembered the beat down she gave him yesterday. "I was gonna say that I can't tell you because Igneel himself asked me not to," she said, surprising him.
Igneel asked this lady...? But why?! It was for something he did? Not, that couldn't be. If he did something wrong, Igneel would have just said something.
But then what was the problem?
"Did," he gulped before saying. "Did he tell you why?" Natsu asked, trying to sound respectful.
Seeing the amused look on the dragon in front of him, he was probably failing.
"Respectfulness doesn't come to you naturally, does it?" She asked him, making him nod. "I suppose I could understand why. You were raised by a dragon and we are prideful creatures after all," she said with a smile on her face. "Don't worry, I don't care how you behave, as long as you don't start making demands of me as if I was a dog that has to do whatever you want just because you said so," she said.
Natsu relaxed a little at her words.
"As for your question, he left because he has an important task to accomplish and he needs to do it alone. Don't worry," she said looking at his crestfallen look. "He said that when the time is right, you will see each other once more," she said.
Natsu's mood instantly improved at her words. He still had questions of course, but just the fact that one day he would see his father again made him happy.
Seeing that her words had the desired effect, Selene continued.
"Now, as for your side of the bet," she said, making him look her in the eyes. "As we discussed before, I will be staying in your house for the foreseeable future," she said.
Natsu thought about that for a moment. It was true, he had lost the fight against her. He didn't like the idea of a total stranger living with him and Happy but a bet is a bet.
Still, he had to be sure.
"Do you promise to not harm Happy or me?" He asked her, trying to minimize any potential threat.
"Of course," she said without any hesitation. "As long as neither you nor your friend attack me first," she added.
Natsu nodded at her before getting up.
But then he remembered the scene in which he woke up this morning.
Trying – and probably falling – not to blush, he said.
"I will have to buy a new bed for you," Natsu said as he rubbed his head.
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that," she said, as she turned around and started to walk toward his house. "That won't be necessary," she added.
He stayed looking at her as she walked away, not understanding what she meant, before starting to follow her.
As he caught up to her, he couldn't stop his treacherous eyes from looking at her backside as it swayed with her hips.
'She has a nice ass," he thought before realizing what he was thinking and shaking his head.
What was wrong with him!? Ever since he met her, he couldn't help but look at her body like a pervert.
He wasn't like that with any other woman. Even with all the beauties his guild had.
Deciding that that was something for later he started walking beside her and asked.
"What do you mean that it was unnecessary? We obviously need another bed. We can't keep sleeping together," he said.
Selene gave him an amused look before saying.
"Do you remember me saying that I need your help with something?" She said, to which he nodded. "Well, a couple of days ago, I fought a powerful enemy," she said, as her look darkened.
Memories of that monster started to resurface, of the moment when he almost slayed her.
Natsu could see her expression change from amusement to... something more dark.
"Are... are you okay?" He asked, a little worried.
His voice broke her of those thoughts and took her to the present.
She turned her grateful eyes to him.
"Yes, don't worry about it," she said, more relaxed. "As I was saying, I fought a powerful enemy, a dragon to be more specific. He defeated and almost killed me," she said, surprising him.
Igneel never talked too much about his own kind, but taking into account that he had never seen another dragon except him, he thought that there weren't many.
And now, not only had he met a Moon Dragon, but he also found out that there was another and that he almost killed her.
This day was full of surprises.
"After the battle, I was injured and I can't recover by myself," she continued talking. "And that is where your help is necessary," she said, giving him an amused smile.
Natsu tilted his head in confusion.
"What do you mean?" He asked. "Do you want me to cure you? I hate to tell you this, but I don't know any healing magic," he said, to which Selene only laughed.
"You misunderstand, Natsu," she said. "You see, dragons can't be healed from wounds caused by other dragons, at least not serious injuries," she said, surprising him. "That is unless they receive help from another dragon," she said, eyeing him.
Natsu looked at her in confusion for a few seconds, before widening his eyes in surprise.
"Wait, you mean me!?" He exclaimed, pointing a finger at himself. "B–But, I am not a dragon," he said, still shocked.
"The energies emanating from your body are dragonic enough to help me with this," she said, smiling at him. She wondered what his reaction would be when she told him how he would heal her.
Natsu crossed his arms in thought before saying.
"Okay, I will help you," he said, looking at her. "So how do I heal you?" He asked her.
Selene's smile only widened.
"Oh, that is easy, I just need you to sleep with me from now on," she said, making him trip from the shock. Selene just kept walking as if she said 'The weather is nice today'.
"Wha–What?" Natsu said from the ground, only to see that the dragon had left him behind.
He quickly stood up and ran toward her.
He stood in her path and exclaimed.
"What do you mean I had to sleep with you!? Is this some kind of joke!?" He shrieked.
Selene, with clear amusement in her eyes, answered.
"When all living beings sleep, their bodies release small particles of Ethernano dwelling inside them. In the case of dragons, those particles can be used to heal another one as long as they stay in close proximity to one another," she said, but looking at the confused look on Natsu's face, she clarified. "Basically, your magic will heal me while we sleep together," she said to him.
Natsu for his part only gulped at her words.
He looked at the body of Selene's up and down and started to sweatdrop.
'I–I have to sleep with...'
"Fo–For how long?" He asked, stuttering, his face completely red.
"Oh I don't know, my injuries were veeery serious." She was enjoying making him sweet. "Several months at the very least. Maybe a year, if we are unlucky. Or lucky in your case," she said, giving him a wink before she resumed her walk.
On the inside, Selene was laughing. She knew that it would take three months top to heal her completely but she wasn't going to tell him that. One reason was because it was too amusing to look at his blushing face. Really, this kid was so innocent.
But that was not the only reason.
Meanwhile, Natsu stood in the middle of the path, not knowing what to do.
Most men would be thrilled to share the bed with a bombshell like Selene. But he wasn't like most men.
He didn't even have an interest in women until she met the blonde lady, but now his eyes couldn't stop trailing her body every chance he got.
And now she was telling him that he had to spend the next year sleeping with her every night.
His already red face started to warm up so much that even with his resistance to fire, he was getting dizzy.
And if that wasn't enough, his mind started filling itself with different images of the two of them in the bed together doing...
Natsu's mind couldn't take it anymore and he passed out.
Selene heard someone falling to the ground and couldn't help but chuckle.
Natsu arrived at his house after spending a couple of minutes unconscious in the woods.
He still didn't know what he would do with this situation but he would be damned if he let himself make a fool of himself again.
He would do what he always did in troublesome situations and face his problems head-on.
He opened the door and looked at the inside of his home.
He still couldn't get used to how neat and tidy it all looked.
No more things on the floor, all his possessions were on shelves that he still didn't know where they came from. And his bed...
Now that he thought about it, until yesterday, he didn't even have a bed. He always slept in a hammock.
He turned his eyes to the woman who was calmly reading a book on his sofa.
He narrowed his eyes at the sight. Not even one day passed, and she already acted as if she owned his house.
He scoffed at her. He bet that he would let her live with him, not that she could change his house. His house.
Selene raised her eyes at him and smiled.
"Oh hello, Natsu," she said nonchalantly. "Did you enjoy your nap?" She asked rhetorically.
He scoffed at her.
"Listen, lady, the deal was for you to live here for a while, but that doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want," he said.
She tilted her head in pretended confusion.
"What do you mean?" she innocently asked. When he pointed to the interior of the house, she said. "Oh, you mean that you don't like it?" she asked him. "And please, call me Selene. We are gonna be bedmates from now on!" She added, making him blush.
"That is not what I mean!" He said, still blushing. He secretly liked how his house looked now but he wasn't about to tell her. It might give her more incentive to make more modifications. "I mean the deal with my clothes, my stuff, my hammock, this new bed," a question pops up in his head. "By the way, where did you get the new bed and all the other stuff?" He asked.
"Oh, after I defeated you yesterday," he scoffed at the memory. "Your flying cat and I went to the town and bought a few things," she said.
He looked at the bed and the shelves and all the other new stuff. The pieces of furniture looked like they were of high quality.
"They must have been expensive," he said as he looked at how clean the floor was. She must have bought cleaning products too.
"Oh, they were. I spent most of your money on them," Selene casually said.
Her words froze him in place.
Did she just say...
"What did you just say?" he asked, begging that he had heard wrong.
Selene looked at him with confusion.
"I said that they were very expensive and that most of your money was gone," she said, amused at how pale he suddenly was before he started moving all over the house.
"Nonononono!" he started repeating as he started looking for something all over the house until he finally found his wallet with all his savings. He opened it and found only a hundred Jewels.
A. Hundred. Measly. Jewels.
That was all that his savings had been reduced to. A miserable hundred jewels.
He looked at the culprit of this... this travesty.
"How–How could..." He wanted to ask her how could she spend all his money. All his considerable and hard-earned money on just a couple of furniture and some cleaning products.
As if sensing his recrimination, she answered.
"Well, I couldn't just buy the first piece of furniture that I saw. It had to be the best. I also cleaned this whole place, it was a mess. I honestly can't understand how you could have been living here before. And I also need some new clothes," she said, and for the first time, Natsu noticed the dress that she was wearing. When he met her, she wasn't wearing any clothes. "If I have to live here, I can't keep wearing your clothes," she said as if it were obvious.
Dread started filling him before Natsu went to the closet, a closet that he also didn't remember having before, and he opened it.
He looked at it for a few seconds before falling to the floor and starting to cry.
She bought new clothes, alright. She bought enough clothes to dress an army. And the worst part? She didn't even buy anything for him. All the clothes were clearly feminine.
Tears started to fall to the floor. All his money...
She wasn't a dragon. She–She was a demon! What was he going to do now?
While Natsu was having his economic crisis, Selene was still on the sofa, congratulating herself on her actions. With this, she was sure that he would be grateful that she had fixed the place. Now to plan her next move.
Igneel had told her a little about Natsu's life, about the guild that he was part of. If she could become a member of this guild, she could stay close to the dragon slayer and see him in action.
But how? From what she could understand, it was not easy to become a member of one.
Maybe she could make another bet with Natsu and her price would be that he helps her become one.
But before she could think anything else, a hand closed on hers.
Selene looked at Natsu in confusion before he started to run out of the house, dragging her along with him.
"Wait, Natsu, what are you doing? Where are you taking me?!" She asked, perplexed at his behavior. She could easily break free of his hold but the surprise of his action stopped her.
"We are going to my guild, Fairy Tail, and we are gonna make you a member!" the pink-haired boy shouted, making her eyes widen. "We had an agreement, but that doesn't mean that you will be a freeloader in my house. I will not come back from a job, just for all my money to disappear the next second! If you are gonna live in my house, I expect that you pull your own weight," he finished saying as he kept dragging her.
She looked at him for a second before starting to laugh.
"HAHAHAHA!" Selene said as she let herself be pulled by the dragon slayer.
She had been struggling to find a way to get herself admitted into the guild, and then this kid resolved her problem without even trying.
'Really, this kid is just too adorable!' She thought as the two of them ran toward his guild, Fairy Tail.
Hoped you like it.
