Episode 30: Chill Of The Night

A/N: It was originally going to call "The Man Who killed Mr. And Mrs. Loud" but it was too long for the title of this chapter. Hope you guys love this short chapter and bring in some lovely feedback on what you think of the latest chapter.

A quiet afternoon in Royal Woods...well at first when an explosion happen inside of the Library as Ace Savvy and Card Counter were flown out from the impact as they groan. The Boom-Boom Twins walked out of the building as they laughed.

"You know what's best of blowing up the library, Bombshell?"

"What's that, brother?"

"So that no one will be bored out of their asses when reading those dorky books."

The Brothers laughed and high-five each other.

"And what's even better...blowing up those super-losers." Big Bang pointed at Ace and Card Counter.

Card Counter growls. "How dare you attack an innocent place?! I will make you pay."

"Do your worst, little girl." Big Bang snickers.

Card Counter dash over and tackle him as the two fight.

Ace throws a punch on to Bombshell when he was distracted and another one as he flies towards the car. "Card Counter is very passionate about the library. Cause problem there, she turn like Strong Suit." Ace tells Bombshell. As he about to get him, Bombshell quickly throws a flash bomb at his face as Ace cried in pain while trying to gain back his sight. Vision blurry. All he could see as he turn with familiar looking person who is standing; a man...the man who killed his parents. "What the?" But then soon he got punch across the face and collapsed on the ground.

"You got to love these flash bangs." Bombshell said.

Ace kick Bombshell in the balls before he could throw more bombs at him which groans as he covered his crotch but then gets kick in the face, and last he remove his belt and any other explosive device on him as he handcuffed him. Then, he turn back the to the man he thinks he saw but he was already gone. Was it actually him, or he was just seeing things? Hard to tell. But he'll figure out later; right now he has to check out his sister but it turns out she's doing find as she finish beating him up.

"If you guys try to blow up the library again, then I'll blow you up. Got it?" Card Counter threaten Big Bang.

Big Bang whimpered with a bruise on his face and respond. "I-I got it!"

Card Counter punch him to knock him out. "I apologized for out of character behavior, I have strong affection to my favorite place." She said to her brother, but noticed something bothers him. "Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah I'm good. We're done here. Let's go home." Ace said.

"If you say so." Card Counter said.

The two leave for the police to arrived and arrested the brother.

The Next day, Lincoln along with his friends Clyde, Liam, Rusty, Zach, and Girl Jordan are sitting together at the school cafeteria having a conversation as laugh except for Lincoln is still thinking about the man he thinks he saw. His friends noticed that Lincoln is silent the whole time, so Rusty shake his shoulder.

"Lincoln? You okay?" Rusty asked him.

"Huh? Wh-what?"

Liam then spoke. "You've been sitting there like a dang statue, buddy."

"Plus, you haven't touch your lunch." Girl Jordan pointed his tray.

"I'm...I'm fine. Just thinking," Lincoln lied. "I'll be in the bathroom." Lincoln got up and leave.

Clyde follows him as he already knows he's lying and confronts him. "Bro, something is really bothering you. Tell me what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, Clyde. Honest."

"Dude, I will fine out later on if you don't tell me."

Lincoln sighed. "Yesterday when me and Lisa fighting The Boom Boom Twins, I say him."

"Saw who?"

"The man who killed my parents."

Clyde is shock to hear that. "You did. Are you sure it's him? I mean he disappeared right after that night."

"But I saw him. And he haven't moved out of Royal Woods, he's still here. This..this could be my chance to nail him and avenge my parents murder."

"Even if it's him, he could disappear again."

"Not this time. Tonight, I'll search the whole god damn city again and this time I won't rest until I'll find him. Don't tell my sisters, Cthylla, and Principal Higgins. This is personal."

Clyde begins to worry as he already know what he's thinking. "Y-your not planning to kill him are you?"

Lincoln looks into his eyes. "No." That's all he has to stay as he leaves.

Later that night, deep below the home of the Louds.

"You're literally going to patrol the Royal Woods tonight? You sure you don't want us to help patrol?"

"Don't worry, Lori. Most of our rogues are still locked up. So tonight it'll be small time crooks running around the streets which it is a no problem for me. You girls get some sleeps okay?"

"All right. But don't stay out to late, you got school tomorrow." Lori said.

"Got it."

Loud sisters head to the elevator to head upstairs while Cthylla stayed as she wonders what's wrong with him.

"Lincoln, are you okay? Something is bothering you lately."

"I'm fine, Cthylla. So don't try to read my mind on what's wrong."

"WHAT?! I wouldn't never do that! It invades people privacy!"

"Good. Then, you don't have to worry about me. Go get some sleep, okay?"

Cthylla sighed. "Okay." She leaves the cave.

Lincoln turn and pick up photo of his parents. Next, he then think back THAT night. Repeating how it all played from beginning to end.

*FLASHBACK*

After the movie, Lincoln and his parents walk out of the theater feeling disappointed.

"Ugh, what a terrible movie. A complete disrespect to my favorite heroes Ace Savvy and Lady Ace." Lincoln said feeling upset.

"I know, right? He doesn't even look like me." Lynn Sr. said.

"Huh?"

"Oh-uh, nothing, son."

"I'm sorry it's not the movie you were excepted, sweetie." Rita said to her son.

"It's okay, mom. At least I get to watch it with my parents." Lincoln smiled.

"Listen, son. How about we make it up for you. You can stay up a bit later and have some late night snacks." Lynn Sr. said.

"Wow! Really, dad?!"

"Honey, I'm not sure about that."

"Don't worry, dear. A little stay up and midnight snack wouldn't hurt. It's Saturday." Lynn Sr. smiled.

The three head into the parking lot to get Vanzilla but then soon stop when his parents heard a noise. There crows sound which made Lynn Sr. and Rita froze when they recognize it. He's here.

"Lincoln, get to Vanzilla and lock the door." Lynn Sr. whispered to Lincoln.

"Dad, what's going on?"

"Do what your father told you, honey." Rita said.

Lincoln is confused. Something got them spoke. But whatever, he did what he's told as rush over to vanzilla. Out of nowhere, he got hit by a tranquilized dart, and then collapsed next to Vanzilla. Hours later, Lincoln woke up feeling dizzy as tries to figure it out what just happen. "Mom? Dad?" He called his parents but there is no respond, tries to get his head straight, he walks to see find his parents. The world inside of Lincoln has been destroyed when he staggered back, unable to believe what he'd just seen. Tears, hot and heavy, began to pour down his cheeks. The man who had a blue flaming baseball tattoo on his face is stealing valuable from their corpses.

"MOM! DAD!" Lincoln screamed.

The Man got spooked when he sees a kid which he didn't know he's the kids parents, so he drop everything he grab and ran off . Lincoln's tears and sob over his parents body.

*FLASHBACK OVER*

Translate to Lincoln already in his Ace Savvy costume and standing on top of the building as he still hold a photo of his parents as he tear up. But he wiped it away, put the photo back into his belt, and grapple away. The case is re-open. The hunt for the man has began and nothing is going to stop him.

First place he goes, is an alley. Ace is interrogated a thug.

"I swear! I never saw him!"

Ace switch to his detective mode to check his heart rate; he's telling the truth.

Second place he goes, is the bar. Inside, Ace already started the fight as he flips, punch, kicks, and used his gadgets to take down every last criminal in the bar. The last one decided to sneak away, but Ace grapple on to him and bring it to Ace. "The man who has a blue flaming baseball tattoo on his face. Does he come here often? And don't you lie to me."

"Wh-who? Brant? Yeah. Every Thursday night. He come by to sit next to me spill out his guilt on to me whenever he's drunk." Goon nervously respond.

"So, that's his name. Where does he live?"

"I don't know. He never told me."

Ace groans in frustration as he let him go.

Back at the Ace Cave, it's unfortunately that he couldn't get the address, but he did got a name which could help. Typing the computer by putting his name and description of his tattoo, and bingo he got a match. He look like in his mid 50's, green color eyes, and a red head. His full name Brant Dixon. And what's even better, his full address on his profile.

"Got you, you son of a bitch." Ace said, and then dash to his Ace Cycle and drove off.

Cthylla came out of hiding after. This worry her even more as she has to follow him in her disguise, but since doesn't know how to drive, she'll have to run for it after reading the address on Brant's profile. Hopefully, she'll be fast enough to reach to Brant before Ace can.

Brant was down the streets heading street home as he still feel guilty on what to the night of Lincoln's parents, walked inside an apartment and head straight upstairs to room 205, and as he turn the lights on...*Gasp*.

Ace has been sitting on his bed and has been waiting for him as he glares straight to his eyes.

"Ace! Look I was only going to drop off a book to the library, I-I haven't done anything!"

Ace stand up and slowly walks toward him as he kept staring at him. They stand for three seconds until Ace head butted him and used his strength throw him at the bed. "Brant Dixon. The coward who took the life of Lynn Sr. Loud and Rita Loud."

"Wait! Who?!"

Ace gritted his teeth. Brant jump off the bed before Ace flip the bed. " Let me refresh your memory." Ace said as he throws his cards at him but misses as Brant ducked. "The night at the parking lot; a blonde woman and a brunette man lying down on a cold road as they're bleeding in their pool of blood, and here you are robbing their corpse."

"What?! How..."

Then, Ace grab him. "Because I was there!" He removes his mask revealed the murder his secret identity is Lincoln Loud. Now, Brant remember this kid. At the night, Brant was walking minding his own business until he spotted dead bodies. This feels wrong, but does need some cash so he rush over to the bodies to steal what he can but stop immediately when he learn the bodies he's searching are the parents of that the white hair kid as the two look at each other in horror. But Brant didn't kill them, the only guilt he's suffer is robbing the kid's dead parents. "The boy from the parking lot. Kid, listen to me! I didn't kill your parents!"

Ace is now furious as he throws punches him as he collapsed on to the kitchen floor.

"I'm telling you the truth!"

"SHUT UP!"

Ace kicks him to roll over to his back, and then picks him up. Next, he switch to his detective mode, his data shows that he's telling the truth. "No. NO! YOU HAVE TO LYING!" He dragged Brant to the bathroom and began drowning him into the toilet. "ADMITTED!"

Brant coughed. "P-please. Stop. They're were...a group who killed..."

More lies. He continues drowning him.

Cthylla arrived, but she's too late; Ace got here first, but she can still stop him from drowning. "ACE! STOP!"

"Cthylla?! What are you doing?!"

"To stop you! Look what you're doing! Is this what your parents would have wanted? They would have brought that creep to jail."

Ace looks back Brant as he still drowning him. This snap him out of it and realized what he has down as he stop what he's doing and then gave him CPR.

Brant coughed out water out of his lungs. Few seconds later, Ace grab Brant again but this he's going to asked him some as he dragged him back to the living room. "No more! No more!" He cried.

"Shut up! You may didn't kill my parents, but it's no excuse for you to rob my dead parents. Now, you've mention that a group that killed my parents. Who are they? Describe them to me."

Brant coughed a bit. "Okay. I only got a glance of it. They were dressing as-." Suddenly, an arrow shot from the window and hit straight to Brant's throat's killing him. Cthylla screamed after witness his death. Ace is shocked and upset about this. Whoever done this will pay for this. Then, he noticed a rolled up note attached to the arrow, he open the note and read it as it saids 'We need to talk'.

"Cthylla, stay down and don't move."

Cthylla nod.

Ace open the window, switch to his detective mode to pin point where the arrow had shot. And he found it, he grapple on to the building across this apartment to the meet up with the archer. The archer revealed to the team leader of The Crows.

"I forgot how much you've grown, Prodigy."

Ace charged forward to swing a kick, but The Crow leader dodges his kick and other moves until he stop. "Easy, Prodigy. I came here to talk."

"Stop calling me that! Do you any idea what you've done?! He could have tell me who murdered my parents!"

"Oh, please. That bum don't know shit. But I know."

"What?! Don't be fooling around here! How could you know?!"

"The Crows knows all. If you hear me out first, I'll give you some info who REALLY killed your parents?."

Ace stop fighting him and hear him out. "What do you want?"

"Prodigy, your life is a big lie. Your so call 'family' have been keeping secrets from you."

"What are you talking about?"

The police's sirens can hear as Ace quickly turn and saw a police car. Someone in the apartment must have made a call when he heard domestic violence. "Oh no Cthylla." He turn back and sees that The Crow Leader already left. 'Damn it." But he'll worry about that later, he glide back inside the apartment to get the Cthylla. "Cthylla, we need to leave now." He hold on to her and grapple away escape the apartment with the police officer enter the room.

Back at the Ace Cave, Lincoln has been staring at the Brant's profile. "*sigh* All this time I thought Brant murdered my parents, only to turn out he has nothing to do with it. Just a thief who didn't know they were my parents. And the only info he's going to give me the actually group who's responsible for the murder, is now killed by The Crows.

"What're you going to now?"

"I...I have no idea." Lincoln said as he's starting to give up. But he change the subject as he turn to Cthylla. "Cthylla, thanks for stopping me. I would feel empty if I actually kill him myself."

Cthylla smiled. "Just glad I got there before you finish him off."

Lincoln then spoke. "Cthylla, can we keep this a secret. I don't want my sisters know of my behavior tonight."

"Sure. As long you don't pull something like that again."

"I promise."

Cthylla hugged him which Lincoln hugs her back. Though, The Crows say that they what happen to my parents. If it's true, how could they know about this? No. He shouldn't believe what that terrorist said. He's only trying to messed with his head that's all. I hope.
