I am alive. That's why I've managed to get a new poem out of my head. This time courtesy of the Olympic Games, which I was watching when I first thought of it. Took me a couple of days to work out the rest, though, but I hope you like it either way.
Sports
The other day
I had a thought
What would life be like
If we were all into sports.
The reason for this
I have to admit
There was nothing interesting on TV
And Kai was having a boredom fit
He was flicking through the channels
Not resting on a choice
Ignoring everyone of us
Even when we raised our voices
But then Cole came along
And he was not impressed
Thanks to the added darkness in his eyes
I knew that he was stressed
Of what, he did not tell me
Kept to his drawings and his thoughts
But that's when he snatched the control
And the channel was left on the sports
It was showing the athletics
But it got me thinking
What kind of sports would we be in
If Ninjago did not need saving
For Nya, it was easy
Water was her best friend
I can see her in the swim team
Earning medals would be a trend
For Zane, I guess archery
He's already good with a bow
He can zero in on bullseyes
And his skills just seem to grow
Cole is a little bit tricker
The man is built for weights
But shotput, discus and hammer throw
Also have similar traits
I'm gonna toot my own horn now
And say I'd be good in running
Of course by that I mean sprints
Marathons are not my thing
That just leaves me with two others
Kai and Lloyd to be exact
But for the life of me I cannot think
Of what their strengths attract
Lloyd's a good allrounder
But he seems to be good on a bike
So maybe I'll give him BMX racing
And hope that it's a like
Kai does like to hit things
But he's also good with the sword
I think he'd do well in fencing
Maybe then he won't be bored
But I suddenly remember
As I watch Cole deep in thought
My best friend is a rock climber
And that in itself is a sport
And of course there is Spinjitzu
A sport in its own right
Though Wu calls it a way of life
And he you do not want to fight
Once the Athletics were over
I got up and went to Cole
He seemed to be working extra hard
On his artworks as a whole
I think he called it studies
When I finally asked
But when I told him of my sports ideas
He got right on a new task
I sat there watching him
As he began to draw
Seven different pages worth
And all without a flaw
Each page was dedicated to one of us
The last was of the team
He had us in our different sports
Various poses all supreme
It took him a few days to finish, though
Each one had to look perfect
Though I will tell you personally
There were no flaws I could detect
Then again I was just amazed
At how he brought my thoughts to life
The pages are now in a folder all their own
So the artwork comes to no strife.
