Snow Day
When I woke up this morning
There was a certain air upon the place
A calmness had settled overnight
And a slight chill tickled my face
As I walked into the kitchen
Zane and Pixal were humming a tune
Cole was humming right along with them
And even Kai was in a boon
Nya sat at the table with Lloyd
Both talking quietly to Misako and Wu
But it was looking out the window
That gave the real clue
Little frozen flowers
Were dancing through the sky
Snowflakes from the heavens
Bringing peace as they flew by
Wu said to bring the decorations out
And that meant but one thing
That Christmas had returned to us
With peace and joy that it did bring
We put the tree up in the rec room
Cole picked another good one this year
While Lloyd did his best to help Pix understand
Why the holiday brought everyone cheer
With Zane in the kitchen
Making hot chocolate and gingerbread
I went outside to start decorating
And got a snowball to the head
I turned around slowly
Searching for who had done it
Kai was looking around innocently
But his sister had a vengeful spirit
Before anyone could say a thing
My girlfriend had avenged me
But then Cole joined in the fun
And nobody could flee
Forts were built and snowballs flew
Throughout the snow filled day
But then Wu came and reminded us
Of the decorations still to lay
So back to work we went
With laughter in our hearts
And a promise to return to fun
Once we had done our parts
And return we did come afternoon
With everyone joining in
We had a snowman building contest
Of course Zane would win
But as darkness grew
we returned inside
Leaving angels in the snow
For the morning flurries to hide
After a warm meal for dinner
We sat around the tree
Reminiscing about the year gone by
And singing Christmas carols way off key
Well into the night we stayed up
With more hot chocolate in hand
Just enjoying each other's company
Also praying the holidays were grand
But just before we all retired
I found myself under the mistletoe
And when Nya came to stand by my side
I admit, my face was aglow
The embrace was as passionate as ever
But also served as a good night kiss
And in the moments that followed
I knew my dreams would be bliss
And so I end this day
Knowing more Snowflakes are in flight
With a merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night
