This poem introduces an OC of mine, a Serpentine with interesting parentage. It also introduces a headcanon of mine where Serpentine have to hibernate during the winter as it's too cold for them to be as active as they would usually be. Being underground is a little easier for them as they are more active than any Serpentine above ground, but at the same time they are a lot more sluggish than if they were in the Summer. My hope is to give this OC a story of his own one day, but as I have a lot of stories I'm currently working on, it's just little things bouncing around in my head from time to time. Either way, hope you all enjoy this poem.

Brix

I never would have thought it
I never would have guessed
That a snake would come right to us
And promise to do his best

By that I mean but one thing
A ninja is what he wants to be
But even more surprising
His father is our enemy

He says his name is Brix
And his mother was Constrictai
But no one can ignore the fact
That his father is the last Anacondrai

Yes, I said it
His father is Pythor
Which is making Master Wu edgy
And he reminds us what happened before

He's talking about both Pythor and Aspheera
And how they tricked all of us
He says to never trust a snake
But even that seems to make a fuss

Brix says he lived with his mother
Up until the day she died
From then on he's been in exile
In fear he'd take his father's side

He often left the tunnels
Sneaking to the 'Surface World'
Looking for inspiration
Be it cloth, rock or pearl

Its odd though
Dare I say
For he'd just as willingly
Sew his day away

Brix wants to be a ninja
Wants to show the world snakes are good
But what he wants is not a hobby
To be ninja is a livelihood

And yet he keeps eyeing our clothes
Even mutters about designs
He's trying to understand our styles
And if they'd be suitable for the mines

It's a tough decision to make
With everything that's been said
Not to mention when we found him
He'd turned our laundry into a bed

We've got a lot to talk about
And in very little time
But once winter is over
I think Brix will do fine

But for now we have to cater for him
Get him a proper bed and room
Somewhere he can hibernate
With a heater to fight the chilled gloom
