Season One Episode Ten: Ball Problems
Scamp was honing his basketball skills in his backyard, currently running while dribbling the ball. He looked to be in the zone while talking about how big of a deal this was to him. "And Kit's great at keeping people from getting the ball out of his paws." When he shot the ball, ha almost landed a two pointer. But the ball bounced off of the basketball hoop and over to him. Once he caught it, he continued talking about his team while backing up. "And Chucky's really getting the hang of his long shots too. Sooner or later, we'll both be on Angel's level."
Oliver was revealed to be listening to Scamp as he watched him from the steps, and he was shown practicing on a new backyard basketball court Tramp and Lady got for him. "Sure sounds like you'll have a lot of power on your side."
"We sure do. And we're all giving it our all to make sure we're ready for when the play offs start." Scamp said, throwing the ball behind his shoulders when looking at Oliver. It bounced off of the rim and then off of his head, causing it to roll over to Oliver. Oliver picked it up and handed it to Scamp once he ran over to him. "Thanks. I'm still trying to get the hang of my behind throw shots."
"It'll be one hell of a sight when you make the shot, Whirlwind." Tramp said from the window, leaving Scamp and Oliver to look at him as he reminded him of something he had to do. "How's about you take a break from that to help out with doing the dishes?"
Scamp started to whine as Tramp asked him to do that. "Do I have to, dad? Chores are stupid and boring." Scamp then expressed concern as he told his father about something else that worried him. "And if I do boring stuff before the Play Offs, I'm losing time I could spend practicing. I can't let my team down."
"I'm sure you'll be ready by your first game." Tramp assured Scamp, and then he started giving Scamp an idea he knew he'd like. "Tell ya what, Scamp. You do the top half, and I can do the bottom, where all the hard to find dishes go. Then, you can get a little extra practice in after dessert."
Scamp instantly beamed when he heard that, shooting another hoop from the stairs before heading in. When he made the shot, he started rushing inside to get the chore done. "Yay for extra practice!"
Scamp started grabbing a bunch of small plates with Oliver expressing his thoughts to Tramp. "He's been giving it his all ever since the first game was announced for tomorrow after school. After two extra hard weeks of practice, I think he's got a really good shot at winning the game."
Just then, a crash was heard in the kitchen, causing Oliver and Tramp to see that Scamp accidentally dropped a couple plates due to slipping when putting them away and reaching up super high. One of them also fell on his face, thankfully without anything scraping his body. "I'm good!" Scamp then saw his mess when he sat up and looked down. "Oh. Sorry, dad."
"Don't worry, Whirlwind. I'll take care of it." Tramp then agreed with Oliver in response to the basketball game. "He's gonna do great." Tramp went over to check on his son as Oliver climbed through the window to help out. "You okay, son?"
Lucky was rehearsing a song Oliver helped him write, and the lyric sheet said 'Fart School for the Gifted Fall Ball Song' on it. Roxie was sitting next to him in his room while contemplating something. After thinking for a few more seconds, she decided to talk to Lucky about what was on her mind. It was going to be a tough conversation. "Lucky? We need to talk."
Lucky put his guitar down while going over his lyrics and addressing Roxie's concerns. "What's wrong? Is the song not romantic enough?"
"No, they're great. And so is your guitar playing." Roxie assured Lucky, knowing his song was going to be great. "It's not the song. It's us." That caught Lucky's attention, and Roxie sighed before putting a paw on his shoulder. "I think we should see other people."
Lucky was confused by this, looking at Roxie as he pointed out her specific wording. "Do we... not see other people all the time?"
"Yes, but that's not what I mean." Roxie told Lucky, and then she started talking about why she was doing this. "The Play Offs had me thinking, and it's clear to me you're still not comfortable with me hanging out with Chucky?"
"What!? I'm totally cool with it!" Lucky assured Chucky, and Roxie's eyebrow raise made it clear she saw that he was still jealous of him. Lucky tried to deny it as he looked over the song lyrics again. "I'm serious. I'm even making a song for the Walton View Dalmatians right now!"
"Yes, but that's because you're friends with Scamp, and because you want to do it." Roxie reminded Lucky, and then she reminded him of a recent event between the three of them. "Dare I mention what happened yesterday when he invited us to the ice cream shop?"
Cutaway
Lucky was about to ask Chucky an odd question with a bitter smile. "So. Chucky. What, career plans do you have?"
"Well, none at the moment." Chucky asked, not really sure what he wanted to do yet.
Lucky finished off his ice cream before burping into his paw (UUUUURRRRRP), and wafting the green cloud away before addressing this to Roxie. "I knew it, Rox. He's got a less hot butt than me, AND no plans for his future."
"We're eleven!" Roxie exclaimed out of frustration, finding Lucky's claim to be utterly ridiculous. Chucky was just confused about what was going on.
End of cutaway
Roxie was getting up from the bench to get some space to herself. "Believe me when I say that I want this to work out, Lucky. But as long as you're jealous of Chucky, it won't."
"But I apologized to Chucky this morning. You saw it." Lucky reminded Roxie, not wanting them to break up again.
"And how do I know it won't happen again?" Roxie asked, leaving Lucky stumped, as he wasn't sure if it would happen again or not either. A few seconds of waiting for Lucky to answer was all she needed before heading off. "I'll see you later, Lucky." As soon as Roxie slid down the ladder that led to Lucky and Patch's room, Lucky started getting over whelmed and threw his sheet stand across the room. He then punched his pillow before grabbing and pulling his ears. He was already bad at taking parting ways well, and that included the break up that just happened.
The next day before school, Scamp was looking for his basketball and started calling to it while walking through the upstairs hallway. "Basketball!? Where are you!?"
Collette threw her door open before shouting at Scamp for his yelling. "Scamp, shut up!" Scamp stopped in his tracks to look at Collette, who was clearly annoyed with his antics. "I know you're ass at audio control, but you yelling is in the top ten most annoying things you can do when you wake up."
Collette revealed a list of forty eight different things Scamp could do in the morning to annoy her, which confused him, since it looked like a waste of time. "You still have that around?" Collette set the list aside as Scamp defended his yelling. "Well for your information, Collette, I can't find my basketball. And if I don't find it, I won't be able to practice during recess."
"Basketballs don't have ears, dumbass. It can't hear you." Collette informed Scamp rudely.
"I know that, Collette, but I can still call out to it." Scamp shot back before calling out a flaw of Collette's. "It probably saw your wake up face and bounced away in fear."
Collette was about to retort before Tramp called to Scamp from downstairs. "Heads up, Whirlwind!" Scamp ran over to the stairs, stopping himself from falling down when he stumbled a bit at the top with Tramp throwing his basketball up to him. "Go long!"
Scamp caught the basketball and cheered when he did, "Yes!" only to actually slip when he landed, causing him to tumble down the stairs with his backpack on, and while holding his basketball. His hat fell off once Tramp caught him halfway down, having risen up to catch his smiling son. "I'm good!" He said that even though he hit his head before Tramp caught him. Scamp grabbed his hat and put it on while thanking Tramp for finding his basketball, which he caught for him. "Thanks for finding my basketball, dad. Where was it?"
"You left it outside when you turned in for the night." Tramp reminded Scamp, and after noticing a short stress whimper, he gave Scamp some advice. "Hey. Don't stress about the game. Losing just tells you that you can improve your skills."
Scamp sighed, expressing his fear of disappointing anyone on his team. "I know, dad. I just don't wanna let my friends down." Tramp gave his son a comforting head rub. Scamp held his friendships close, and the idea of upsetting them agonized him.
Lucky and Patch were heading to their lockers, and Lucky was looking sad while listening to music on his phone. Patch nudged Lucky out of concern, and Lucky paused his music before looking at Patch. "What is it, Patch?"
"That breakup music is only going to keep you from fixing this longer." Patch pointed out, and Lucky let out a loud groan as the two arrived at their lockers. Patch then got to giving Lucky some advice on how to fix this. "If being jealous of Chucky is the problem, why not get advice from an outside source?" Lucky flinched at the very mention of that. "There has to be someone we know who can-"
"I can't do that, Patch!" Lucky exclaimed as he grabbed Patch's shoulders. "You know I still haven't fully recovered. What if I have to mention... the incident?"
Patch knew that was going to be hard for Lucky to talk about with most others who weren't him. Still, he knew he wouldn't have the best direct advice for this kind of stuff. Then he thought about what he got from Tod and Copper so far. He had to be a good pick. "What about Copper? His crush on Tod is obvious, so he must have similar feelings when Tod is around cute boys. And he has Autism too. Maybe he can help you learn how to manage it."
Lucky eased his mind a bit at that mention, but he was still skeptical. After all, he and Copper were only friends for like, a week. "I'll think about it, Thanks, Patch."
"Happy to help." Patch assured Lucky, hoping that he would be able to repair his and Roxie's relationship again.
Scamp was practicing his basketball skills on the playground, preparing the ball in his paws as he tried to turn the first Play Offs game in his team's favor. He was still stressing about how things would go down, still having the thought of letting the team down in his mind. He managed to make a running two pointer, but when he went to get the ball, Angel's paw stepped on it as he knelt down to pick it up. He looked up and saw Angel giving him a proud smile. "Hey loser. Room for one more?"
Angel picked up the ball and threw it into the hoop, leaving Scamp to smile as the ball bounced back over to him. "Always." Scamp caught the ball as he then expressed his concerns about the game. "Be honest, Angel. Do you think I'll do a good job in the game tonight?"
"You'd bet your sweet ass I do!" Angel exclaimed, being excited to see what the game had in store. "It's your first Play Offs game too, right? Are you as psyched for it as I am?"
"Psyched is, one word to use." Scamp admitted, and then he told Angel how he was feeling about the game. "What if the last shot in the game is mine, and I screw up? I'd feel like crap if I did. I don't wanna let the team down." Angel saw Scamp's concerns as he looked at the basketball with a concerned expression. "I don't wanna let YOU down."
Angel smiled before wrapping her arm around Scamp and bringing him in. "Well, you decided not to be a lying little bitch by telling me how you felt. That alone keeps you from letting ME down." Angel chuckled a bit at her reminder that she hated liars and fakers. She then got down to genuinely cheering Scamp up. "The rest of us have been playing basketball for a lot longer than you have. As good as you've gotten, we're not putting the expectations of Michael Jordon on you."
"Yeah, I know THAT much. But it's still a lot of pressure." Scamp said, explaining more about how he felt. "The entire school's gonna be watching. Our opponent's school too. And they all expect me to at least do well."
Scamp made his shot after realizing how long he'd been holding the ball for. After it went in, Angel put her paw on Scamp's shoulder and assured him that he was okay. "Just don't think too hard about it dude. Everyone loses sometimes. It's just the world's way of bitch slapping us with humility so we don't party too hard when we win."
Scamp thought about Angel's words for a moment. He didn't see himself as someone who would need that. "Would I need something like that?"
"Have you ever played a sport that can be turned into a competition before?" Angel asked, and Scamp then looked back on his time at his old school. He flashed back to one year when he was playing baseball, and he ended up tripping over third base. After he was tagged out, another teammate walked up to him and threw his helmet at his face. When the flashback ended, Scamp nodded his head yes. Angel saw his sorrow expression, and how he was wiping his face. "Then you know what it's like when someone who's used to winning starts to lose."
Scamp saw where Angel was going with this and smiled when he realized what she was trying to say. "So you're saying that losing still hurts, but it's not the end of the world." Angel gave a thumbs up to Scamp, who remembered what Tramp told him that morning. "That kinda reminds me of what my dad said this morning. He told me losing is a sign that I can get better."
"There ya go!" Angel exclaimed, and that was when one of the teachers, a bear named Mr. Gemstone, burst his window open with a bunch of birds flying out of it.
Mr. Gemstone was exhausted from having to evacuate all of the birds, wondering how they even got in the room in the first place. "Alright! Who hid a bunch of birds in my classroom!?"
Scamp looked at Angel, who pointed to herself with her thumb and gave a proud smile. "That said, it does feel good to win."
Scamp picked his ball up as he thanked Angel for the help. It definitely helped to ease his mind about the game. "Thanks, Angel."
Angel nodded in response before noticing that Oliver wasn't around. Knowing that Scamp and Oliver had been inseparable since they met, this confused her a bit. "Where's Oliver?"
"Oh, he and Patch are doing a comic strip together." Scamp answered enthusiastically. "I'm excited to check it out."
"Ah, they're finally getting around to it, huh? Nice." Angel responded, showing interest in what the comic strip would end up being.
Tod and Copper were watching some kind of anime together on Copper's phone by the wall in the schoolyard as Lucky walked up to them. He seemed hesitant, but he went through with getting Copper's attention. "Hello, Copper. Tod."
Copper paused the video as Tod smirked to Lucky and commented on his timing. "Don't stop our show while the star is shining, Lucky."
"Sorry. I know how you two enjoy your anime time together. I love Dragon Ball and Demon Slayer myself." Lucky shared, and then he focused his attention on getting Copper to come with him. "Copper, can I talk to you for a moment?"
Copper looked at Tod, who nodded his head yes to show that he didn't mind. Since he had Tod's approval, Copper happily obliged to Lucky's request. "Sure. Not a problem." He then looked at Tod to let him know that he'd be right back. "I'll be back to finish the episode as soon as we're done."
"Feel free to arrive fashionably late." Tod flirted playfully, making Copper blush while smiling as he walked off with Lucky. Tod watched them walk off before taking out his own phone to look up the anime Lucky recommended. "We've seen the first one, but that second one should come to our list."
Lucky and Copper arrived at a private part on the school playground to talk, one by the wall where no one was. Lucky looked nervous, and Copper assured him he would be okay. "Don't be nervous, Lucky. I'm your friend. I'm happy to help."
Lucky gave a faint smile before he started sharing his concerns with Copper. "Thanks, Copper." He then put the smile away before talking about Copper's relationship with Tod. "So. You and Tod."
"What about us!?" Copper exclaimed while blushing, and then he coughed into his paw while starting to gay panic over what Lucky just said. "I mean, um... we're not dating. He's just the greatest thing ever and he makes me feel like I'm on top of the world, and that I might be able to be on stage one day without nervous farting on the entire audience or something?"
"So you DO like him. Correct?" Lucky asked, and Copper, realizing he couldn't lie his way out of this, nervously nodded his head yes. "Thought so. Now to my question. How do you deal with him being friends with really attractive actors in the Drama club?"
Copper wasn't quite sure he understood the question. "What do you mean?"
"Like, okay; I know he's gay, but surely you've seen him with another hot dude before." Lucky elaborated, wondering how Copper dealt with that. "Doesn't it piss you off?"
Copper thought about when Tod interacted with the other Drama club members. He did love Tod, but he never got 'pissed off' when he saw him interact with the other boys. It might've helped that they weren't an actual couple, but Copper didn't feel he'd be angry even then. "No. I can't say it has." Lucky was surprised to hear that, and Copper noticed him looking even more worried about his relationship with Roxie. Copper saw this, and figured there was deeper meaning behind his question. "Is everything okay, Lucky?"
Lucky flinched, trying to hide what the conversation was about so Copper didn't catch on. "Oh yeah, totally! Just curious about how you and Tod handle being around other boys. We haven't known each other for long, so I wanna help when I can."
Copper was still concerned, but Lucky's lie started to convince him for a bit. He could see why Lucky would want to help his friends with that stuff. "I guess that makes sense."
Lucky then sighed, figuring that Copper should know the truth. After all, he came to him. "Actually... can you keep a secret?"
"I'm not very good." Copper admitted while scratching the back of his head. "But I can try."
Lucky would have to make do with that. And so, he leaned on the wall with Copper noticing his mood shift to looking more bitter and hurt. "I ended a somewhat toxic relationship before I started dating Roxie. You know how I was dating Two-tone before?"
Copper felt horrible for Lucky after hearing that, stepping up to him to listen more. "Yeah, you mentioned it once. What happened between you two?"
"Bitch cheated on me! I caught her and Mooch red pawed." Lucky stated somberly and bitterly, showing how insecure he was about this, and how worried he was about losing Roxie. That made Lucky's trust issues a lot more understandable to Copper. "And now Roxie's friends with this gorgeous hunk on the basketball team, and I don't know what to do about it. I'm worried I'm gonna fall into the same trap and never realize it."
Copper didn't know Roxie very well, but he knew Lucky did. He felt she would be the best one to consider for this. "Well... what does Roxie love you for?"
Lucky started to think about that, and was able to come up with a few things. It started to make him happier the more he brought up. "She said the first thing she started loving about me was my passion. She always admired my love for creating music." Copper encouraged Lucky to continue, which he did. "And also my love for routine, my loyalty to my friends, she thinks I'm really funny, if gross a lot of the time." Lucky's smile showed that he was starting to understand what Copper meant. "She loves a lot of things about me."
Copper smiled and pointed to Lucky's heart with what he said next. "I've never dated anyone before. But I think that, maybe, the ones who love us, love us for who we are."
Lucky smiled at that gesture, finding that Copper's words had a lot of truth to them. But then, he realized how much of a dick he'd been to Roxie. And he didn't even try to get to know Chucky. He hoped she would at least think about getting back together with him again. And that Chucky would forgive him. "I really screwed up."
"Then go talk to her." Copper advised Lucky, encouraging him to apologize while the situation was still fresh. "From what you told us about Roxie, she sounds like a forgiving person."
Lucky laughed softly a bit, glad that he could confirm Copper's words to be true. "She really is. And now I should work on winning her back. Thanks, Copper." Lucky and Copper fist bumped with Lucky rushing off to practice his apology to Roxie. "See you at the Play Offs game!"
"See ya there!" Copper called back, and then he rushed back over to Tod to finish the anime episode they were watching. "Now to finish that Naruto episode!"
It was time for the first Play Offs game, and Scamp's team was getting ready to play against a rival school: The Pandas. Scamp and Angel were playing with Chucky, Freckles, and Koda. And the opposing team was a panda named Po, a tiger named Tigress, a monkey named... Monkey, a snake named Viper, and a crane named... Crane. Angel couldn't resist the urge to trash talk the team for that last one. "Well ain't THIS a shocker. The other team's so bad they needed someone super tall to pick up their slack."
"Better watch what you say there, thug girl. You might regret it." Tigress shot at Angel, who tightened her bandana as she got ready to throw down.
Lucky was close to where Chucky was sitting to get a drink of water before the game started. Lucky took the chance to do a better job at containing his trust issues around Chucky. "Good luck, Chucky." Chucky noticed Lucky after he said that, and the Dalmatian expressed remorse for how he treated him. "And... I'm sorry I'm such a dick."
Chucky seemed to understand that this was Lucky's way of taking accountability for his behavior. He still felt he should test him though, just to make sure. "Don't worry, Lucky. I'm not planning on asking Roxie out."
"I... um..." Lucky struggled to find the right words to say after that. He just picked up his guitar while trying to take that image out of his mind. "I want to start being nicer to you. Whether or not Roxie and I get back together again. But I still have a hotter butt." Patch, who was sitting next to Lucky, snickered at how badly he was handling this.
Chucky rolled his eyes while smiling before heading out onto the field. "Good talk." Roxie was close to where Lucky was when he said that. Despite his flawed finish, she could see that he was trying. That alone was enough to make her smile.
Once Chucky got onto the court, Pug started announcing the beginning of the game. "Listen up, maggots! I want to see you play some basketball today! And you know what that means! Steal the ball from the other players and make them cry when you beat them!" Scamp saw his family in the crowd, except for Collette, who was on the Cheer squad. He waved to them with a smile when he did.
As for Angel, she saw Buster waving in the crowd while calling to her. "You got this, Angel baby! Show these pussies how you move on the court!" Angel rolled her eyes when waving back to him, cringing internally at what he said.
With that, Pug blew his whistle, making sure not to do so in anyone's ears. He then threw the basketball up into the air with Angel and Tigress in the middle. "Let's play ball!"
A montage showed what happened in the game, starting off with Freckles trying to get the ball from Monkey, who dribbled it with his tail once he caught up. Monkey then shot the ball towards the hoop with his tail, leading to him getting a three pointer. This stunned Freckles, and also showed him that tails were allowed in this game too. Scamp was then shown going up against Po, who was able to move around quite well despite his weight. When he tried to shoot his basket however, Scamp hit the ball out of his palms. After catching it, Chucky scored a two pointer.
Viper had the ball next and was keeping it from Angel, who surprised her when she caught the ball after it bounced off of the hoop. She opened up Viper's mouth and breathed into it, causing her to retch at her foul breath. Fun fact: Snakes smell with their tongues, and Angel knew this. Angel then dribbled the ball over to the hoop, jumping up and shooting as far as she could when Tigress blocked her way. And since there was a no flying rule, Crane couldn't stop it from getting into the hoop at a half court shot.
Speaking of Crane however, he was able to score a slam dunk later in the game thanks to his height. Koda saw this coming and caught the ball after having made his way under their basket. He then ran off and dribbled it over to his team's basket. He got it swiped from him by Tigress however, who made a half court shot herself, just like Angel did before. Tigress grinned to Angel, who flipped her off before the game continued. Freckles managed to get a two pointer later on, but Po ended up belly bouncing the ball over to Viper, who scored a three pointer.
There were several other baskets shown beforehand like Scamp making a three pointer, Po making a slam dunk, and then Angel making a slam dunk, and Monkey making a half court shot. Koda and Tigress each made three pointers after that, and Viper landed a two pointer before Freckles did a two pointer himself. Crane then shot a three pointer, and Chucky made one himself just before Po snatched the ball from him. Once he missed his half court shot however, Scamp raced over and got the ball.
Scamp started dribbling the ball while focusing his sights on the basket. He managed to evade everyone else, spinning around Tigress and dodging Monkey's grasp, and when he reached the spot, he shot for a three pointer while running. Both teams watched the ball in anticipation, and Scamp smiled cheerfully at what it looked like. However, the ball bounced off of the hoop just before the bell for the last quarter rang. The ball ended up hitting Scamp on the head, and Angel caught it before helping him up. Despite the loss, Scamp gave his usual response. "I'm good!"
Scamp and his team were contemplating the game with the scoreboard showing seventy five points for the Pandas, and seventy three for the Dalmatians. The team were proud of how well they played, despite barely coming short at the end. Chucky was the first to express how proud he was of everyone. "That was great, everyone! Keep this up, and we'll win our next Play Offs game for sure!"
"I sure hope so." Scamp said optimistically, and then he addressed how him missing the shot cost them the game. "Sorry I blew that last shot."
"Hey, anyone could've messed up a shot that hard." Angel assured Scamp while playfully snatching his ball from him. "Besides, if I was actually paying attention to Coach Pug's boring-ass lecture, we have three more Play Offs games to show what we can do!"
Angel shot the ball into the basket as Koda pointed out something else. "And we only have to win two games to make the Play Offs." He then started to ramble about how their chances in the next game would be. "If we win the next two games, then we'll guarantee getting into the Play Offs even if we lose the last game. Cause they'll have no reason to kick us out if we show them we can win some games." Chucky and Angel rolled their eyes at Koda's rambling. "And then when we cream the other players, we'll prove to the whole world how great we are!"
"Yay for proving ourselves to the world!" Scamp exclaimed, and then he went to pick his ball back up as something else crossed his mind. "The next game is in Winter, though. It might get harder to practice then." Scamp gave a determined smile when thinking about his team's odds. "Any chance the Dalmatians are ready to turn up the heat?" Scamp's teammates all spoke in agreement to that with Scamp getting excited to get going. "Then let's make it happen!"
"Before we do..." Freckles chimed in, mentioning something else he hoped would still happen. "I'm really craving some of that post-game ice cream."
"Oh, riiiiight." Scamp laughed a bit before he started dribbling his ball for fun. "That totally slipped my mind." Freckles rolled his eyes while smiling, amazed that Scamp could forget about something as delicious as ice cream.
Scamp was celebrating with his team mates, and Oliver, as Lucky was having another conversation with Chucky. "And I don't want to go into detail about it, but my last relationship made it hard for me to trust girls. But Roxie means a lot to me, and I want to believe her when she says you aren't a thing."
"I mean, we always tell you we aren't a thing." Chucky reminded Lucky, glad to see that he was acknowledging his problem. Patch also signaled Roxie to go for it, knowing she'd understand why her intervention would help. "Perhaps a direct word from her right now will help with that."
Roxie sat next to Lucky surprising him before she smiled and told him about hers and Chucky's status. "Chucky hasn't made a single move on me."
Lucky looked to Chucky, who nodded his head yes in response. Even though Lucky wasn't there, it was easy to tell that he was working on believing them more. "Well... at least that door's finally closed."
As for Scamp and Angel, Scamp was chugging down a chocolate milkshake, and Angel was chugging one down too. She ended up beating him before slamming her cup on the table. "Bring me another one, barkeep! I won the bet!"
Scamp ended up getting a brain freeze after finishing his and groaned as he got it. "Brain freeze! I didn't give my brain a ticket to Antarctica!"
Angel snorted in response to Scamp's comment with Tod then sitting next to Angel when congratulating them. "There's my favorite basketball girl! That was a close game."
Scamp started recovering from his brain freeze as Angel commented on how close the game was. "I know. Short by two points." Angel smiled as she thought about the opposing team. "It was fun trash talking with the other team. And playing them."
Scamp shook his head as he showed enthusiasm for the next one. "Next game though, I'll have my running three point shot all figured out."
"I should hope so." Tod then offered the rest of his strawberry milkshake, showing that he couldn't finish his. "You want the rest? I shouldn't have gotten seconds."
"None for me, thanks." Scamp politely declined, allowing Angel to accept it as he explained why. "One sip of that, and I'll break out into hives."
"Sounds like a showstopper." Tod responded, and Scamp ordered a second milkshake as Tod then made a joke to Angel. "I can think of another set of balls you'd enjoy dribbling."
Angel started laughing due to not knowing what Tod was talking about. "Jesus, Tod; my team's trying to eat!" Tod winked to Scamp with his left eye, confusing Scamp before Copper came back from the bathroom.
Tod left his seat before wishing Scamp and Angel good luck for their next game. "Break a leg next time, you two." Scamp opened his mouth to question that before Tod clarified. "That means do your best."
Tod went back over to where Copper was with Angel asking Scamp about his joke. "That joke was kind of outta left field."
"Knowing Tod, he probably saw something bigger going on when he said it." Scamp suggested, getting his second milkshake after he did. "Thank you!" After leaving a tip as well, he started to question what Tod was talking about. "Is there someone you like in school?"
"Not right now." Angel admitted, smiling to Scamp as she expressed some other feelings on the matter. "Believe it or not, I wouldn't mind if there was."
"Yeah. Romance sounds nice." Scamp admitted, and then he and Angel got ready for their next milkshake race. "Three, two, one, chug!" The two of them started chugging down their milkshakes as fast as they could as the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
