Robert warmed up some left overs from dinner while Tiffany tried to find something for dessert. "You know what sounds great? A sundae!" Tiffany pulled out the ice cream, the chocolate sauce then started rummaging through the fridge to find the new can of whipped cream she knew they had.
"What are you looking for?" Holly asked her friend, wanting to know if she could be any help.
"We had a brand new can of whipped cream in here and I can't find it anywhere." Tiff kept digging.
Robert and Holly locked eyes, grinning at each other as memories from the night before came rushing back. "Tiff, Holly and I had that last night with our late night snack."
"The whole can?" Tiffany stood up, placing what she had collected on the counter.
Holly's eyes sparkled, not leaving Robert's. "Yes, the whole can. I guess we got a little carried away."
"I'll say, Well I hope you both at least enjoyed it." Tiffany went over to get a bowl.
Robert got a wicked little smile. "Oh we did, especially Holly."
Holly grinned as her eyes danced with Robert's. "Yes by far the best dessert I've had in a long, long time."
Tiffany walked back over and looked between the two of them, her eyes growing big, just as she was about to say something the kitchen door opened and Jayne walked in.
"Hello mum, dad and Tiff." Jayne gave Robert and Holly hugs.
"Hello babe, how was your day?" Robert asked while returning her hug.
"Great, I really love that I am perusing this finally, Being a lawyer never seemed to be the right fit for me." Jayne told her parents and Tiff as she got herself some food out too to reheat.
"I know the feeling completely." Robert told his daughter, the DA job was never him despite being qualified for it. He was happy that was no longer what he was doing.
"I'm really excited that I get to work with you dad." Jayne stood up as she ate her food.
Robert's face beamed with pride. "I'm excited about it too. You already make me so proud." Robert stood up to give Jayne his seat. He took his dish over to the sink.
"Me too. I am very proud of the person you are and I am excited to watch you become more of who you have always wanted to be." Holly gave her daughter a hug.
Jayne held on tightly to her mom. "I love you both and you too Tiff. You've been like a honorary godmother to me and I so appreciate it."
The smile on Tiffany's face said it all. She really did love Jayne already, she was such a sweet woman. "I love that you feel that way because I feel like your are like a goddaughter to me." Tiffany gave Jayne a hug.
The four of them talked, catching up on each other's days before moving into the living room.
"I'm going to go get some sleep. We still have a lot of decorating and planning to do." Tiffany gave them each hugs, whispered to Holly. "Next time buy extra whipped cream so the rest of us can have some."
Holly stifled a laugh, she would tell Robert about it later but now was not the time. "Goodnight Tiff."
Tiffany went to her room.
"Do you think we could watch another movie?" Jayne asked Robert and Holly. She had enjoyed getting to spend time with them the night before.
"Try to stop us." Robert smiled at his younger daughter. The three of them settled on a movie then sat down to watch it.
