Memories Of Her-Ch 16
When Shannon came back in a little while later she said, "wellllll, your levels are going down but they are still really high" and when she saw the disappointment on their faces she said, "but don't worry you are responding wonderfully to the meds and we'll keep checking your bloodwork every 8 hours and see where we are this time tomorrow".
Derek said, "do you know when I'll be able to get out of here and go home?", Shannon said, "well, Derek, right now I'm not really sure because we want to keep you and monitor you for a few days, especially with your numbers still this high buttttttt, today is Wednesday sooooo we'll see if we can get you out of here by Monday okay?", he said, "Mondayyyyy?", Fran laughed and said, "yes my impatient son, Monday".
Shannon said, "if your numbers continue going down good like they are now you might get to go home before then buttttt I'm not making any promises", Derek looked at her and said, "is it okay if some of my family stays with me?", Shannon said, "absolutely, absolutely, I can even bring in something for them to sleep on".
Derek said, "thank you, thank you so much", she said, "not a problem" as she turned around and walked out of the room leaving the family alone to get caught up on everything that had been going on since Derek had been gone.
A couple of hours later when it was just Derek, Penelope and Reid left at the hospital Penelope had just finished telling Derek about Sam wanting to be the father to their child and he said, "HE WHAT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?", Penelope said, "sadly no I'm not kidding me and he got a good face slap and rejection for his trouble".
Derek smiled and said, "soooooo, how's the baby and his or her mommy doing?", Penelope put one hand on her stomach and said, "we're both good, we've missed you but now that you're back we're not letting you out of our sight", Reid said, "Amen Garcia, Amen" causing all three of them to start laughing.
A comfy cot was brought into the room and placed right beside Derek's bed, both him and Reid had insisted that Penelope get some much needed sleep and after a few minutes of arguing she finally agreed to their demand and laid down and was almost instantly sound asleep.
Derek looked at Reid and said, "I'm sorry", Reid looked at him and said, "for what?", he said, "for being gone so long", Reid said, "Morgan, you were held at the whims of a crazy woman and being drugged, it's not your fault and don't you worry she will pay for what she's done to you, Garcia and the rest of us".
Derek nodded his head and said, "thank you for being with her when I couldn't be", Reid put his hand on Derek's and said, "we're family Morgan and that's what family does, they are there for and help each other and nothing or nobody is gonna change that, especially not Savannah Hayes".
Reid looked at his watch and said, "it's after midnight, how about you get some sleep so that Garcia won't have to worry more about you than she already is?", Derek said, "good idea and kid?", Reid said, "yeah?", he said, "I love you", Reid said, "I love you too nowwww get some sleep".
Derek laughed and said, "okay, okay" and in a matter of a few minutes Derek too had drifted peacefully off to sleep leaving Reid awake to watch over both him and Penelope for a few more hours before he too drifted off to sleep.
