Pau. Entering the Boulevard des Pyrenees with the Olympic Flame, our crew decided to take their next course of action by going to the most important areas at Pau. The Chateau de Pau was their first destination, with our crew learning the history of one of the most important monarchs in French history through the tour of the entire castle, King Henri IV. There, they even found the turtle shell in which he was cradled as an infant, which puzzled some of our heroes. The Phryges have scattered around the entire area in a mischievous manner, forcing the crew to have a hide-and-seek session to search for them. All of the 24 Phryges were found and they followed our crew to their next destination in Pau.
While riding on the funiculars, the Phryges occupied one funicular first, and later they let our crew ride the funiculars. It was their manner of taking turns, since they come in numbers that occupy the seats our crew will take on the funicular. The crew then walked along with the Phryges, pondering on where to visit next. They then went through the Chateau Quarter to take a look at the French scenery with large, old building with historical significance until one of the heroes felt hungry. Asterix then thought of something until he knew where to head next, with Gaulois leading the way.
Quartier du Hedas. A restaurant that serves Pyrnean cheese and garbure are on display, making Obelix water his mouth. The Marsupilami then leaped into the shop to admire the food there, until he saw an unsightly evil act which made him sprang into action. A rich and snobbish girl was spying on them, making the Marsupilami suspicious. She could be working for the villains that try to keep Gaulois on his toes! The Marsupilami then went over to Spirou, giving a warning by making the sounds. Spirou knew it, and he told Gaulois and the crew to take extra caution since a villain was sighted there. Just then, a bear in blue clothing, along with a little whiter rabbit and a turtle wearing a long hat caught their attention by looking at the Flame they carried, and they approached them gently.
"Bonjour." Gaulois greeted. "Is there anything you want with us?"
"The name is Bamse, and those are my friends Little Hop and Shellman. Pleasure to meet you." replied the bear. "I assume that you heroes are headed for Paris judging by the Olympic Flame you are carrying!"
"Oui!" Gaulois answered. "Do you mind taking us around to a few attractions in Pau before we let you guys head off to Paris on your own?"
"Sure, the more the merrier, they say!" Bamse replied, "There is an attraction that we are familiar with, and Northern European roots are present in that area through that museum which narrates the story from a French soldier to king of Sweden!"
The Musee Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte gave an insight into what was the Napeleonic era like during its peak, which tells the story of how a French soldier became a powerful monarch of Sweden once, with Bamse acting as the tour guide. Napoleonic artifacts, paintings and furniture were on display, giving insight into that particular French soldier's rise to power in the Northern European monarchy. After the tour, Gaulois and the Phryges felt relieved that no villains are appearing today to harm them until something came out of nowhere. Robotic arms grabbed Madeline and Pepito, which revealed to be coming from a truck with a spoilt girl in yellow revealing riding a mechanical truck.
"Oh great! Another villain targeting us?!" sighed Gaulois, since he cannot know the reason why the villains are after him.
"Behold, for I Princess Morbucks shall play a little game with you for today, and I will be introducing the rules. This is the first phase of the game where you will chase me, and the second phase is where you will try to win against me! Good luck on winning my games, or your precious little friends are going bye-bye!" taunted Princess Morbucks. She sped off with the mechanical truck holding Madeline and Pepito, with our heroes in hot pursuit.
The chase is on, with Princess Morbucks having captured Madeline and Pepito driving the truck and our heroes riding a van to go after her. Chasing alongside the Pau Golf Club, Princess Morbucks tried to slow the heroes down by interrupting a golf competition and even barged in at the Hippodrome du Pont-Long. The crew went after her dodging people and horses alike whilst going forward to save their friends Madeline and Pepito. The chase continued into the Ossau Valley, until it came to a stop at Biarritz Beach.
The heroes cornered Princess Morbucks and her truck, demanding her that they release Madeline and Pepito until Princess Morbucks activated something. The truck transformed into a dangerous and challenging obstacle, formation in the shape of a robot programmed for combat and destruction. A tall and fearsome Guillotine-themed robot stood in front of our heroes, ready to behead them with its large axes that strike fear into the hearts of its opponents.
"Let's play dollies, stinkies! I will be playing guillotines and chefs with my latest toy, just like my Godzilla toy back in Tokyo!" Princess Morbucks taunted. Madeline and Pepito were trapped inside the glass core of the robot, with them banging and shouting for help. Our heroes have to help them again, and teach that pompous princess Morbucks a lesson.
"Guess that girl needs better parenting methods to make her good!" Bamse sighed as he prepared himself to save Madeline and Pepito along with the crew.
Boss – Princess Morbucks
Our crew despite their fear of sharp objects like guillotines and axes, charged forward for the sake of Madeline and Pepito. Princess Morbucks tried chopping off our heroes with the robotic arms that wield axes, and her thirst for vengeance has made her extra dangerous. Our heroes were almost exhausted while trying to keep themselves safe from axes. Spirou, upon seeing this, needed a strategy to save Madeline and Pepito. Spirou then told the Marsupilami, Bamse and Asterix what to do, "Over here, I have a plan!"
"You mean, use my thunder-honey? Sounds like a plan to me." Bamse replied.
"Yes," added Spirou. "The Marsupilami can keep that bratty girl busy while Asterix can seize that opportunity to save our friends!" The Marsupilmai then came along with tools it found to defeat Princess Morbucks.
"Roger!" saluted Bamse.
Bamse consumed the jar of thunder-honey, and he gained full strength. He then held the robot by its legs, lifting it up to make it lose balance. The Marsupilami then climbed up the robot, attacking Princess Morbucks by sneaking up from behind and knocking her out. The Marsupilami then messed up with the robot's controls by pouring a bucket of water it found. It then used its prehensile tail to lift up Asterix. Asterix drank the magic potion, and smashed the glass container to free Madeline and Pepito. Asterix then grabbed Madeline and Pepito, with the Marsupilami escorting them safely. The Marsupilami hopped out of the cockpit, ready to watch the explosion. Bamse then released the robot and went from a safe distance, watching the robot's condition. When Princess Morbucks woke up, the controls were in showing errors and malfunctioning of programs that initiated the self-destruction protocol. The robot started to malfunction and explode, causing Princess Morbucks to fall out of the robot. Glares then surrounded Princess Morbucks, with her pleading, "Can we go for another round, please? I will play fair!"
"Absolutely not!" replied Madeline sternly. Obelix, Pepito and the Marsupilami prepared a crate for her, putting her inside and locking her up.
"You stinking cretins! I am not gonna lose to you lunatics again the next time we meet! EVER!" yelled Princess Morbucks when the crate containing her was flung into the air.
"Good riddance to bad rubbish!" Gorgious mocked back.
"Well," added Rayman, "It's time for us to keep heading to the City of Lights! See you guys there!"
"See you soon in Paris, Bamse and co! Thank you for helping us teach that mean girl a lesson!" thanked Spirou.
"Catch you later in Paris!" Bamse replied back, and he and his crew parted ways with Gaulois and co. Our heroes along with Gaulois and the Phryges then headed off to Perigueux, as they will take a break there until they continue their journey to Paris.
Meanwhile in the hideout in Paris…..
"Not even the smell of money and wealth can prove its superiority to those good-for-nothing heroes! Did she just botch it again like what she did back before that rabbit reached Tokyo?!" Lila Rossi was so enraged that she berated Princess Morbucks when she saw everything by drone cameras.
"I bet the next batch of villains can do better like enhanced capabilities. They used to be inept while on the way to Tokyo, but now they have maximum capabilities of destruction that will destroy our heroes for good before they can reach Paris." Captain Chantal Dubois assured Lila Rossi.
"Very well, heroes. You may need more than that to reach the City of Lights! It will be lights out for you when we send in the next villains to put you pathetic heroes to sleep…forever!"
