Young Hedgehog (Part 1)
*Da Vinci's Workshop*
The children decided to take a little adventure tour inside Da Vinci's workshop while she was away from it for a bit. The door of Da Vinci's workshop opens as Jack and the other kids enter, looking for stuff they want to "borrow" from Da Vinci herself. The kids looked around to see the number of nitnachs scattered around the room made by Da Vinci herself. The children were left in awe of the unique items around them.
"And here we are! Chaldea's own Holy Grail. The workshop room." Erice commented
"Okay, but can you tell me why we're here again? The sign outside the door told us we couldn't come inside without Da Vinci's consent. She's probably at the break as we speak." Miyu asks
"Don't be such a scary cat. It's not like we're here to destroy everything, like when Chaldea was ambushed. We just came here to look and maybe borrow some stuff from this place." Chloe replies
"And by that word "borrow," you mean we're here to steal stuff and never return it to Da Vinci...? Is that what I'm getting here?" Alexander questions
"I don't need to hear anything coming from that mouth of yours right now! Look, I promise I will bring this stuff back to Da Vinci. It'll be cool to take some stuff out and use them. If she asks where her stuff has gone, we can blame it on someone else like we usually do." Chloe replies
"I mean... That works almost every time. But what is here that can be quite useful?" Abigail asks
"Well, let's look around and find out. Maybe she's hiding something from us that can be eye-catching. She's known for hiding some unusual things around her workshop or inside the Command Room." Jeanne Lily commented
"Alright then, let's have a challenge. Whoever finds something most interesting here from the rest gets to the one who chooses the movie they like for movie night this weekend." Kid Gil suggested
"Now that's a deal I can get behind! Let's start looking around and see what we can find here!" Erice stated
"But we better hurry up. However, Da Vinci could be coming back at any moment. I don't want to get caught and have us be her test piggies for her weird inventions... Remember when she made that potion that makes your mouth disappear for a day? Yeah, I would rather keep my mouth..." Jack commented
"*Shivers* I don't know how she realizes that these creations of hers are a good idea to begin with... But either way, Jack is right; let's move on and see what we can find here." Kid Gil said
The children begin their scavenger hunt throughout Da Vinci's workshop, looking for something interesting to be shown to them, including books, paintings, little sculptures, notes, and a few other items around the room. A few minutes pass, and the children find cool things scattered around. The hunt seems to be going well for them, and while looking, Voyager spotted something different from the other items found by his friends. Voyager stared at the item briefly before finally snapping back into reality.
"*Looking At Something he Spotted* What is this?" Voyager commented
"Hm? Voyager, you spotted something that caught your eye. What is it? *Looks At What Voyager Was Looking* Well, hello there, now that's a finding." Erice said
"What did he find? Please tell me we hit the jackpot." Alexander asks
"I hope it's more food! I'm starving!" Eliza exclaimed
"It's not exactly food. But it's something that we mentioned earlier when we arrived here." Erice replies
Soon enough, Erice grabs the item and shows it to the rest of the kids; they all stare at it and realize they are test tubes filled with chemical substances inside. The kids got closer as they were in awe of their biggest discovery.
"And what did I tell you? I knew we would find something amazing in here! One has a unique effect that could activate once the person drinks it!" Chloe stated
"Look at the label, though. It reads, "Effects Of These Are Still Unknown. But Still, Have Common Sense And Don't Just Drink These Randomly - From Yours Truly And BEautiful, Da Vinci." I'm guessing she's still testing these as we speak." Nerusey Rhyme said
"Let me try one! *She Quickly Grabs One Of The Test Tubes And Was About To Drink It Until Miyu Quickly Takes It Away From Her* Hey! That was for me! I'm thirsty!" Eliza exclaimed
"A-Are you serious?! Did you not listen to what was read out?! We don't know what these do, and you'll drink it like that?!" Illya, Panicking
"I'm just thirsty..."
"M-Maybe we should just put them back where we found them... Da Vinci wouldn't be happy we're messing with her stuff like this." Bunyan suggested
"Don't be scared; from the sounds of it, I don't think these potions are even ready to be used. Whoever drinks from it wouldn't be affected by it. So everything should be fine for right now." Kid Gil stated
"Then I'm taking this! *Takes The Test Tube That Miyu Was Holding* I have a pretty funny idea I want to use with this. It couldn't be that effect, right? Just taste the off-putting drink and spit it out soon after. Man, I'm such a genius!" Chloe exclaimed
"I have no idea what goes inside that head of yours... Something tells me this isn't ending well for everyone here..." Sitonai commented.
"*Looking Out And Into The Hallways* Uh oh! She's coming! Da Vinci is coming back!" Alexander exclaimed
"Quick! Let's get out here before she catches us!" Miyu exclaimed
Soon after, the children quickly booked it out of the workshop from Da Vinci, catching them looking through her stuff while quickly putting everything back to its original spot as fast as possible. However, they only took one of the test tubes that Chloe was holding in her hand.
*Later, Chaldea Cafeteria*
The kids managed to escape before they were caught by Da Vinci or anyone else who saw them inside the workshop. Once they had escaped, they decided to enter the cafeteria, which was busy and filled with Servers eating or conversing with one another. The kids played it cool to prevent any surprises.
"So we decided to run for it and arrive at a place with more eyes in it? We are not good for escape routes..." Illya commented
"Don't make it sound suspicious. Besides, there's a reason why we're here, to begin with." Erice said
"*Showing The Test Tube* Remember this? I said earlier that this could be fun for a little prank. These aren't fully ready, so I doubt whatever its effect, it wouldn't work. I'm more interested in seeing their reaction to the different tastes of said drink." Chloe explains
"This is why mother grounds every so often... It's because of stuff like this..." Miyu commented
"She isn't here right now, so there's nothing to worry about. Anyway, now, where should I pour this in?" Chloe questions
"Voyager and I want no part of this. We just came along so we wouldn't be left out." Abigail stated
"But... I was the one that found them..." Voyager said
"Will blame someone else, Voyager. Don't you worry, you're in good hands." Erice assures
"Hey, who's that cup on the counter where the kitchen is? It's just standing there, and no one drinking from it." Bunyan asks
"AHA! I found my target."
"Are you seriously going to go through this idea? What if it's someone that can kick our butts?" Sitonai questions
"It's my only chance. I almost feel bad for whoever that cup is just sitting there alone. Anyway, I'll be right back."
Soon, Chloe approached the kitchen counter where the cup was standing. She looked around to see if anyone was watching, took the cup, and walked out of the kitchen away from the others. The kids waited for Chloe for what seemed like hours for her to return. Eventually, Chloe returned to the cafeteria, placing the cup back in its original place and walking back with the other kids to their table.
"That was a lot easier than I thought," Chloe stated
"I can't believe you did it... You did it." Kid Gil stated
"Honestly, I respect it. You did it without any second thought." Alexander said
"All we can do right is wait and see what happens from here." Jeanne Lily stated
"Something is telling me that this was a bad idea... Oh, man... Please don't be what I think it'll be..." Nursery Rhyme commented
A couple of minutes later, Sonic dashes into the cafeteria, stretching his body while several Servants follow him from behind.
"Now that's what I call a mission success! You guys were awesome as usual out there!" Sonic exclaimed
"Great job in today's mission, guys. That should take care of things for a bit." Mash said
"Could've gone better. The Oni here almost caused us the mission and our lives here." Dantes said
"Hey! At least we took care of those freaks before something significant happened. Besides, I managed to bring myself a batch of sweets with me here. *Shows Them The Stack OF Candies In her Hands*" Ibaraki replies
"Just try not to do it when enemies are in our tails, Ibaraki," Sonic asks
"Welcome back, everyone. I see the mission was a success, thanks to the cheerful emotions you guys have." EMIYA said
"It went well, buddy! Just another day as usual."
"Nice to see you four return. Luckily, you just arrived, and dinner is currently happening. Please take a seat, and I'll make you your dinner." Boudica said
Soon, everyone went their separate ways to eat dinner, and Sonic and Mash sat on each of the chairs in front of the kitchen counter.
"*Looks At The Cup In Front Of Him* Wow, that fast you guys served me a drink, eh? I'm quite impressed." Sonic commented
"Yep! I served you a cup of freshly made lemonade! Made with the finest ingredients!" Tamamo Cat stated
"And what about you, Mash? What would you like to have as a drink?" Boudica asks
"Anything will be fine with me, thank you," Mash replies
The kids looked at each other, shocked, and noticed Sonic holding onto the cup Chloe had poured the substance into. Chloe facepalms and try her best to swear out loud.
"Why does fate hate us...?!" Miyu whispers
"Look at what you did, Chloe! Out of all the people who did this prank, you picked the worst one to be hit by!" Erice whispers
"There's no way that shouldn't have happened! How can I know that was served to Big Brother?! Shoot! I'm going to get grounded for an entire month again..." Chloe whispers
A minute later, Mash hands her a drink, and she also grabs hold of it. Sonic and Mash raised it up and cheered together before drinking their respective cup. The kids, seeing this, were left in disbelief and panicked as they quickly ran out of the cafeteria. Soon after, the two stopped drinking and wiped their mouths.
"Ah~ Now that hit the spot," Sonic commented
"Lemonade as well, I see. It's quite delicious~" Mash said
"Did you enjoy it, you two?" Tamamo Cat asks
"It's fantastic, Cat! I do love some lemonade. *Feels His Body Acting Different And Burps Soon After* Oh... Excuse me about that. Now that's quite the feeling I have going right now." Sonic Brings Up
"Are you okay, Senpai?" Mash asks
"I'm fine; I don't feel anything going on. So I should be okay right now." Sonic replies
"Hmmm... I don't remember adding any more ingredients to the lemonade. Did one of the chefs add something without my knowledge?" Tamamo Cat questions
"Don't mind it right now, Cat. The drink tasted good either way. Nothing wrong about it." Sonic assures
"If you say so, Master. Anyway, please hold while we have your guy's dinner. It should be ready in a few minutes or so." Tamamo said
*Sometime Later, Inside Sonic's Room, Night Time*
Despite midnight, Sonic still seemed to be awake and rubbing his head. He felt his body acting strange but could not find out why. He attempted to drink some water but didn't feel anything changing. He kept turning on his bed, trying to find a comfortable spot, but nothing worked. This was starting to annoy the Blue Hedgehog as he stood up from the bed and sat quietly for what seemed forever for him.
"*Stood Up And Looking Around The Room* Tch... Why do I feel so weird tonight...? I don't remember any missions that we have been on recently... What's causing all of this...?" Sonic, Stressed Out
He looked at the time and saw it read 12:08 AM. He got up from his bed and looked at himself in the mirror, analyzing himself and not seeing any changes in him, which made him slightly glad. But still, Sonic didn't feel easy at all. He tried to recount what could've caused his current predicament.
"Was I given something without my knowledge? Was it that drink I had a few hours...? Could it be that I was given...? No, it couldn't be that. The drink I had didn't taste different from what I remembered. Maybe I'm just overthinking this overall. No way someone would mess with my drink if they knew I would suspect something." Sonic explains
Sonic looks at himself in the mirror for a bit longer until he turns around and heads straight back into bed, covering himself with the blanket and thinking deeply.
"I'm sure whatever I'm feeling, I should be in a better state tomorrow morning. Nightingale mentioned that these things usually tend to go away the following day. Always trust what your doctor says; remember that." Sonic said
Soon enough, Sonic closes his eyes and finally goes to sleep despite feeling the pain in his body. He tends to fight it off until the morning, hoping he feels much better and can return to running as usual.
"What's the worst thing that can happen to me, eh? And if something does happen, let's hope it doesn't cause a stir for everyone here." Sonic thought
*The Next Morning*
Morning has arrived as a snowstorm hits Chaldea; Mash enters Sonic's room, dressed up and ready to start the new day. She finds Sonic still sleeping peacefully, covering himself underneath his blanket.
"Good morning, Senpai! Are you ready to start the new day?" Mash asks
"Zzz..."
"Hehe~ Still sleeping, I see? That's okay; you need as much rest as possible, Senpai. I just reminded you that breakfast will be ready in 15 minutes. So ensure you're there on time with the rest of us." Mash stated
"Zzz..."
Mash decides to play a little prank on Sonic as she slowly walks towards his bed. Once close, she looks down at the bed and hears snoring coming underneath the blanket. She stares for a bit as Sonic is still sound asleep, and soon enough, Mash grabs the blanket with her hand, ready to pull it off of him.
"Dear me, I'm sure my hand wouldn't pull this blanket accidentally! *She Quickly Pulls The Blanket Off Of Sonic To reveal him. But It Was Not What Mash Wasn't Expecting* Huh?!"
What Mash saw was something she never expected to see. She noticed Sonic had a much shorter, stubbier, round torso, lighter blue fur, and smaller shoes with red outer soles instead of the usual grey. Mash couldn't register, but Sonic had turned much younger. Sonic slowly began to wake up, yawning and rubbing his eyes. He slowly turned his head and saw Mash staring down at him with pure shock and unable to speak. Sonic looks at her with confusion as he attempts to say, but he can't.
"S-S-Senpai... Y-Y-You're... *The Shock Of This Reval Causes Her To Lose Herself As She Falls To The Ground, Unconscious* ..."
Sonic watches as she falls to the ground, panicking as he jumps out of bed and runs towards Mash's unconscious body. He shakes her in an attempt to wake her up. While doing so, a couple of the Servants decided to visit him; he looked up to see Jeanne and Adolfo entering the room.
"Good morning, Master! What's with the banging noises I heard just now? Did something nefarious happened- *Sees Sonic* Wha-"
"S-Sonic?! Is that you?! What happened to you?! Dear Lord, how did this become a thing?!" Jeanne shocked
Sonic stops for a moment and looks down at his body. He sees that he is much shorter and chubbier. He runs towards the mirror and notices he is much younger and more rounded. He turns his head around, shocked by the realization that he has reverted to his younger self.
"We need to alert everyone about this! This isn't normal at all!" Jeanne exclaimed
"I'll go tell the Director and everyone else about it!" Astolfo replies
"What about Mash?! We can't just leave in this state! We must take her to the infirmary as soon as pronto!" Jeanne Brings Up
"Oh right, sorry, Mash. I didn't expect Sonic to revert to his younger self this morning. But reality is stranger than fiction, I supposed... Anyway, we need to get a move on!" Astolfo stated
Jeanne walks towards Sonic and picks him up like a baby; Sonic is dumbfounded as he tries to let go of Jeanne's grasp. Not wanting to be seen as a baby.
"Don't worry, Master. I won't harm you. We need to talk with those who might know what is happening to you. It'll be okay." Jeanne, Assuring Sonic
