They went to the airstrip where they knew Air Force One would land. Angel put up her psychic camouflage. The group was impressed that they could see her. The four watched as the American president walked up to the Master.

"Mr. President, sir!" The Master gave a mock salute.

"Mr. Saxon, the British Army will stand down. From now on, UNIT has control of this operation."

"You make it sound like an invasion."

"The First Contact Policy was decided by the Security Council in 1968 and you've just gone and ignored it."

"Well, you know what it's like, new job, all that paperwork. I think it's down the back of the settee. I did have a quick look, I found a pen, a sweet, a bus ticket, and… Havfe you met the wife?"

"Mr. Saxon, I'm not sure what your game is, but there are provisions at the UN to have you removed from office unless you are very, very careful. Is that understood?" He made exaggerated motions with his fingers across his lips, zipping them. "Are you taking this seriously?" He nodded. "To business. We've accessed your files on these Toclafane. But First Contact cannot take place on any sovereign soil. To that purpose, the aircraft carrier Valiant is en route. The rendezvous will take place there at 8:00 am." The Master made mumbling noised through his zipped lips. "You're trying my patience, sir."

He unzipped his lips. "So, America is completely in charge?"

"Since Britain elected an ass, yes. I'll see you on board the Valiant.

"It still will be televised, though, won't it? Because I promised, and the whole world is watching."

"Since it's too late to pull out, the world will be watching. Me."

The Doctor and his followers stood, watching the Master whisper to his wife as the Americans drove away.

The Master looked in their direction. He saw the Doctor, Martha, and Jack, but not her. Not his Angel. He looked around, hoping to see his her. Sirens blared from the vehicle stopping nearby. The Joneses were man-handled out of the van while the Master mocked them.

"Oh, my God!" Martha said.

"Don't move," the Doctor said.

"But…"

"Don't!" He urged.

"I'm gonna kill him," Martha whispered.

"What say I use this perception filter to walk up behind him and break his neck?" Jack asked.

"Now that sounds like Torchwood."

"Still a good plan."

"He's a Time Lord. Which makes him my responsibility. I'm not here to kill him. I'm here to save him."

Jack pushed a few buttons on his device. "Aircraft carrier Valiant, that's a UNIT ship at 58.2 North, 10.02 East."

"How do we get on board?" Martha asked.

"Does that thing work as a teleport?"

"Since you revamped it, yeah. Coordinates set."

"Angel?" The Doctor called for her to drop her camouflage. "Hands on." Angel put her hand on top of the rest and the group teleported out of the airfield and onto the Valiant. The group groaned in recovery of their harsh landing.

"Oh, that thing is rough!" Martha complained.

"I've had worse nights," Jack replied, ending with a shout. "Welcome to the Valiant."

"It's dawn," Martha noted. "Hold on, I thought this was a ship, where's the sea?"

"A ship for the 21st century. Protecting the skies of planet Earth. They take off running through the maintenance corridor. The Doctor suddenly stops. "We've no time for sight-seeing!"

"No, wait, shh, shh. Can't you hear it?"

Angel looked at him, eyes wide. "Is it?"

"Hear what?"

"Doctor, my family's on board…"

"Brilliant!" He turned. "This way!" They followed after him. "Oh, at last!" Angel's heart skipped a beat when she saw it.

"Oh, yes!" Martha yelled.

"What's it doing on the Valiant?" Jack seemed to be the only one thinking rationally about the presence of the TARDIS. They ran in. Upon entry they knew something was very wrong when they saw the console room was doused in a red glow. "What the hell's he done?"

"Don't touch it!" The Doctor commanded.

"I'm not going to!"

"What's he done, though? Sounds like it's sick." Martha asked. Angel covered her ears, but it didn't help against the pain of experiencing her in such a state.

"It can't be. No, no, no, no, no, no, it can't be." They looked at the console.

"Doctor, what is it?" Martha pressed.

"He's cannibalized the TARDIS."

"Is this what I think it is?" Jack asked.

"It's a paradox machine. As soon as this hits red it activated. At this speed, it'll trigger at two minutes past 8:00."

"First Contact is at 8:00, then two minutes later…" Jack insinuated.

"But what's it for? What does a paradox machine do?" Martha asked.

"More important, can you stop it?" Jack tried to give a directive, now on a time crunch.

"Not till I know what it's doing. Touch the wrong bit, blow up the solar system."

"Then we've gotta get to the Master!" Martha said.

"Yeah, how we gonna stop him?" Jack asked, thinking they had nothing on him.

"Oh, I've got a way. Sorry, didn't I mention it?" The Doctor smiled and got up and they headed to the Master.

They slipped into the room while the American president was speaking. "For as long as man has looked to the stars he has wondered what mysteries they hold. Now we know we are not alone." He continued to speak on the broadcast.

"This plan, you gonna tell us?" Jack whispered.

"If I can get this around the Master's neck, cancel out his perception, they'll see him for real. It's just hard to go unnoticed when everyone is on red alert. If they stop me, you've got a key." He looked at Jack.

"Yes, sir."

"I'll get him."

"And I ask you now, I ask of the human race, to join with me in welcoming our friends. I give you the Toclafane." President Winters said with his hand raised as four spheres appeared in the air behind him. "My name is Arthur Coleman Winters, President Elect of the United States of America, and Designated Representative of the United Nations. I welcome you to the planet Earth and its associated moon."

The voices from the spheres protested. "You're not the Master. We like the Mr. Master. We don't like you."

"I can be master if you so wish," President Winters offered. "I will accept mastery over you if that is God's will."

"Man is stupid. Master is our friend. Where's my Master, pretty please?" They protested.

"Oh, all right, then. It's me!" The master raised his hands and ran to the front of the room. "Ta-da! Hahaha, Sorry! Sorry, I have this effect, people just get obsessed. Is it the smile, is it the aftershave, is it the capacity to laugh at myself? I don't know! It's crazy!"

"Saxon, what are you talking about?" The president asked.

"I'm taking control, Uncle Sam. Starting with you," the Master said, then looked at a sphere to his left. "Kill him." The sphere shot a red blast at the president, disintegrating him instantly. The room broke into chaos. The Master clapped and laughed like a mad man. "Guards! Nobody move! Nobody move! Now then! Peoples of the Earth, please attend carefully."

The Doctor rushed forward. "Stop him!" Several guards grabbed ahold of the Doctor. "We meet at last, Doctor. Oh! I love saying that!"

"Stop this! Stop it now!" The Doctor yelled out.

"As if a perception filter is gonna work on me. And look, it's the girlie and the freak. Although I'm not sure which one's which. Angel's around here somewhere, too, I bet." Jack ran forward, seeing it as his only option. The Master pointed a weapon at him, shooting him with a green laser. "Laser screwdriver. Who'd have sonic? And the good thing is, he's not dead for long. I get to kill him again!"

"Master, just calm down," the Doctor instructed. "Just look at what you're doing, just stop. If you could see yourself."

The Master looked at the cameras. "Do excuse me, little bit of personal business. Back in a minute. Let him go." The guards pushed the Doctor forward. He stumbled.

"It's that sound, the sound in your head. What if I can help?"

"Oh! How to shut him up? I know! Memory lane! Professor Lazarus, remember him? And his genetic manipulation device!" The Doctor's jaw dropped. "What, did you think little Tish got that job merely by coincidence? I've been laying traps for you all this time! Couldn't have done it without Angel's intel, of course." Martha's jaw dropped next.

"And if I can concentrate all that Lazarus technology into one little screwdriver… But, ooh, if only I had the Doctor's biological code. Oh! Wait a minute!" He snapped. "I do! I've got his hand!" He opened up half of a case to show the Doctor's hand floating in bubbling water. "And if Lazarus made himself younger, what if I reverse it? Another hundred years?" He pointed the laser at the Doctor. His limbs swung about as he screamed in agony.

Jack came back to life and instructed Martha to teleport. "I can't leave him." She said.

"We can't stop him. Get out of here. Get out."

The Master's torture finally stopped. The Doctor's body was changed. His face had changed to an elderly man's. His hair was white, and almost gone. Martha reached to help him stand. "Doctor, I've got you."

"Ah, she's a would-be doctor. But tonight, Martha Jones, we've flown them in, all the way from prison." The Master gestured dramatically at the door. Guards escorted her mother, father and sister into the room.

"Mum."

"I'm sorry," her mother managed to squeak out through her tears.

"The Toclafane. What are they? Who are they?" The Doctor asked the Master.

He leaned down, his face a few centimeters away from the aged Doctor's. "Doctor, if I told you the truth, your hearts would break." The Master had mercy on him. .

The Toclafane appeared again. "Is it time? Is it ready? Is the machine singing?"

"Two minutes past!" The Master said with a nod. Then he walked up the steps to stand next to his wife. "So, Earthlings! Basically, um… end of the world. Here come the drums!" Dance music began blasting, the Master and Lucy danced. He rushed to look out the window. He smiled victorious as he saw a red crack open in the sky with countless Toclafane spheres pouring through. He ran back up to the steps and blew a kiss to the camera.

He brought Lucy to the window to watch them drop. "How many do you think?"

"I don't know!" She gushed, her jaw dropped in awe. She hugged the master while gazing out.

"Six billion!" He said as he flipped a switch to shut off the music. "Down you go, kids!" He flapped his arm down, exaggerating his point. He pulled Lucy to his chest, his face centimeters from hers. "Shall we decimate them?" He asked with a gravelly voice. Lucy basked in his intimacy. "That sounds good, nice word, decimate," he continued with a whisper. His face broke into a mischievous smile. "Remove one tenth of the population!" He commanded the Toclafane over an intercom.

The Doctor gave Martha instructions while the Master was distracted. A tear ran down Martha's cheek. Desperate voices from around the world could be heard, reporting the slaughter of their , Martha stood up and held onto Jack's device, teleporting down to the land. She watched the destruction of her world, and listened to the shrieks of countless people. And she ran.

The Master and Lucy dragged the elderly Doctor to witness his new Earth. "And so it came to pass that the human race fell and the Earth was no more. And I looked down upon my new dominion as master of all. And I thought it good."

Angel managed to escape anyone's notice. She hid in the maintenance halls and wore a maid's uniform to blend in. She desperately needed access to find a way to help the Doctor. She expanded her psychic range a little bit, day by day, hoping to detect the Master's location. At first she had to chance it, but eventually she could avoid him while she moved about the ship.

She felt confident. It had been a few weeks. She felt ready to visit the Doctor. She navigated her way to his confinement after stopping by the kitchen to steal some food. With her psychic camouflage raised, she waited until the guards were changing at the door. As soon as the approaching guard passed her, she stepped behind him, keeping her body hidden behind him from the guard about to leave. She crouched down just as he spun around at the door, he kept his vision in the distance. She quietly crawled past him into the area where the Doctor was held. She waited for a moment, hiding on the Doctor's side of the wall. She invaded the guard's minds briefly to check up on what they were thinking about, making sure the were distracted.

When she finally looked at the Doctor, staring at her. She was desperate to communicate with him. As quietly as she could, she approached him and pressed her forehead onto his. She shared her memories of the Master using her to boost the Archangel Network. She shared the uppermost room of his mansion, where she was locked. She shared the Master's psychic invasion of her memories with him, and how much she tried to keep him out. She ended with her guilty conscience of letting the Master find out about Martha's family.

He sent back to her his own feelings. His own guilt for not controlling the Master, for letting him loose. He shared his heartbreak when he figured out who the Toclafane really were. He comforted her as best he could without revealing his plan, to let her know there was hope.

"Ahh, now I've caught a little mouse." Angel's body stiffened and her eyes went wide. Slowly, she turned around to see the Master. She was caught. "Oh, Angel, Angel, Angel. Won't you come and embrace your dearly beloved Master?"

She got up to run to a little hatch nearby she thought she could crawl through. "Go to hell."

"I'm hurt, Angel. I thought you loved me? Let's make a deal." Her body nearly disappeared, but she froze when he said, "Don't you want to know who your real father is?" She looked up at him, trying to assess whether he actually knew or if he was bluffing. He smirked and said, "Oh, I know exactly who your parents are. Afterall, I did take you from them."

"What do you want from me in return?" Her brows kneaded together with worry.

"Have a baby with me." She was stunned. He walked closer to her.

"No!" The Doctor shouted. "Don't do it, Angel. We'll find another way."

He continued to approach her. "I'm surprised you're even bothering to ask me this time. We already had one, didn't we? What the hell happened to it?" Her voice trembled.

An angry frown formed on his face. "She was stolen from me! Suppose it was just desserts."

"Please, Angel. Get away! Stay away from him!" The Doctor begged her. The Master's temper flared and he shot him with his laser screwdriver, adding a few more years to his age.

He turned back to Angel. "I was hoping to make it more pleasant this time. I'm only going to offer this to you once. Right now. Take it or leave it." The Master's face was stone cold.

"I'll do it." She answered quickly, her desperation took over. The Master held out his arms, inviting her into a hug. She gave into the comfort he was willing to give her. The Doctor's heart ached as he watched them.

The Master escorted Angel to his room with his arm around her shoulders. Lucy looked up at him with a smile when she heard him enter their suite. But her face dropped when she saw another woman in his arms.

"Lucy, meet Angel, my mistress," he said with a smile.

All thoughts left Lucy's mind, her body started shaking. "What?"

"I said, this is my mistress. I suggest you find a new bedroom, unless you like to watch." Lucy launched herself at Angel. The Master blocked her, he walked her to the door, peeking his head out into the hall. "Guards, please escort my wife to find a room of her own."

He came back to find Angel hugging herself tightly. "My Angel, what is the matter?" She couldn't think of the words to say. "Are you nervous?" She nodded. "Still a virgin." She nodded again. His eyes narrowed, "There's something else." Her eyes went wide and her heart stopped.

She knew he would invade her mind again if she remained silent. "I-I saw you hurt the Doctor. And the president. I heard the shouting from the slaughter during the slaughter. You scare me. You seem to have no limits to who you're willing to hurt." She looked down now, not wanting to see if he got angry at her.

"Hmm, so, you're afraid of me now that you've seen me kill millions of people?"

She looked at him with tears in her eyes and nodded. He held her in his arms and laid his head on hers.

"I'll lay myself bare to you. My heart burns from your betrayal. You left me to go gallivanting around with him." He took a deep breath to control the venom in his voice, switching to a whisper. "I thought you loved me. I loved the way you lit up just because I was there. I love the smart, crafty woman you've become. And I long for you to love me again." He looked her in the eyes and brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. He straightened his back to give his next words more severity. "The killing is over now. All new kingdoms come to be with violence. Until the end of time, you'll always be safe from me. Always." He tipped his head and pressed his lips against hers.

Angel's mind was engulfed by his, matching the intimacy of his kiss. It felt so good to have his love, the things she had always yearned for in her twenty-some odd years of life. So satisfied and whole in his embrace. There was no reason to fear him or hold back, all thoughts on being with him. Which made the task of making love to him so much easier to tolerate, she could enjoy it even.

As they continued to lock lips, their kisses got hungrier and sloppier. The Master wasted no time in moving to the next step of unzipping her maid's uniform and yanking the dress down until it fell to his bedroom floor. Angel stood there developing goose flesh whilst he efficiently de-clothed himself. His hands squeezed her ample ass as he moved his lips ever so attentively on her neck. Using his Time Lord strength, he launched her into the air. Her back collided with his large soft bed, forcing a huff to escape her lips.

He ripped off her undergarments, leaving her tits fully exposed for his mouth to attend whilst beginning a rhythm on the bundle of nerves at her apex. He waited for her folds to saturate before slowly entering her. She stiffened at his entry, the sensation felt so foreign. He stilled and thumbed her clit to reignite her arousal. The rhythmic rubbing continued until her body arched and she took the rest of him into her on her own. He released his thumb, using the hand to hold her face and devour her mouth as his slow thrusts began. Then, he subtly increased speed.

Her face scrunched up and she gripped his ass while she came. Her throbbing walls brought him to his release. His brown eyes stared into her blue ones as he caught his breath. He climbed off the bed and walked to his attached bathroom, cleaning himself up. Angel let the fuzzy feeling of the afterglow takeover and fell asleep.

Angel looked out of the Master's bedroom window at the blue sky with white wisps of clouds. Her mind was consumed with hope for a child. She spent the past several weeks in a dressing gown or naked, the Master making frequent stops to be sweet on her.

There was not much to do in his rooms. She mostly read books, watched tele, or used her brain to solve Sudoku puzzles. There was the rare occasion when the Master insisted she stand alongside while he spoke to his people through the camera. A team would be sent to his room to get her made over and into a fashionable suit.

And all the world could see her with him. She hoped that Martha didn't hate her. But why wouldn't she? The rest of the Joneses certainly did. Especially Lucy. And why not? They had every right. She couldn't even bring herself to think about the Doctor.

A timer dinged, making her jump in her seat. They didn't manage to conceive last month. She now knew from all the pregnancy books she had been studying that it was probably due to timing. She had probably already passed her ovulation phase. But after the disappointment from last month, she didn't want to get her hopes up too much.

She ran to the bathroom to see the result from the pregnancy test. There it was! That second pink line was plain to see. She pulled out her phone to take a picture and waited for the Master to return to her. She sent him an SMS to notify him.

Within minutes he was in the room. His face was stoic save for the eyebrow that was raised, questioning her. She held out the test for him to read on his own.

"We've conceived, now please, Master, tell me who my real father is?

He smiled at seeing the proof of his plan in the works coming to fruition. His Angel was so eager to please him, and she loved him now. That obsession was one of his favorites, he savored it. He decided to relent and give her his end of their bargain.

"Your real, biological father is none other than your undying, dear, sweet Captain Jack," he said with a smirk.
