Chapter 14: Your Eyes Are A Light
Akira raced through the forest. Her opponents had barely stood a chance and she froze as she spied two bodies sprawled on the forest floor.
She breathed out relief at the lack of purple hair as she landed.
Her training said to slit their throats, or to leave them. She glanced down at the knight and the mage. She thought of back home suddenly and what her father would say, training aside.
She knelt hands splayed and cast a healing spell over the knight.
She moved next to the redhead and their eyes met. He watched her quietly heal them.
