Chapter 15: Kindness Is A Choice
"Why?" He wasn't quite sure why he asked. Not long ago they had wanted to claw each other's throats out.
Her burning eyes blinked at him before clouding as she lowered her hands. The orange knight was asleep soundly and Gaara felt like he might join him soon.
He almost missed her quiet voice. Melodic and soft.
"To receive and give hate is a vicious, horrible cycle." A pause. "It's a terrible place, but that doesn't mean we have to be." She took a breath and her eyes blazed.
"I want to be kind, for once, in this dreadful world."
