"Tommy…Tommy! I'm not made of glass, I'm fine," Kimberly said as he carried her up to their apartment. She had just been released from the hospital after her run in with Kiros and while she was back to normal, she was still a bit weak. She wished the doctors would have not said anything to him as he was definitely over-reacting. If her time was coming to an end, she refused for it to be spent with him worrying this much. "Thomas, please. I'm really okay."

"Fine," Thomas said as he placed her down on her feet and she smiled up at him. He had not taken this last hospital stint well and she hadn't either. Theo and Amelia had kept JJ for them and they had insisted on giving them a night at home before they brought him back. Everyone knew what Kiros appearing meant and they all hoped that there was some way to short circuit the prophecies that she had seen. "What do you want to do tonight?"

"You," Kimberly said simply as Thomas choked on the water he was drinking. He had never thought she would just come out and say it like that. Something had changed in her, something that both terrified and thrilled him. She had never held back with him, but it was like some part of her had been opened to him that he had never experienced before. "I love you. And I want you to always be able to remember that…especially when…"

"No…I can't talk about you dying again. I…please let me…let us enjoy each other without that looming over our heads," Thomas whispered as he cupped her face and she looked up at him. His eyes searched hers and he saw all the things that she couldn't say. He saw just how much this was killing her too and how she was putting on a brave face for everyone, but especially for him. "I can tell you now that I will never forget you. I'll never get over you."

"Tommy…" Kimberly started and he just shook his head as she gently cupped his cheek. "Make love to me."

"Always," Thomas whispered as he leaned down and devoured her. She might know when their last time would be, but he didn't. And he knew enough now that he was going to make the most of every single moment that he had left with her.

"Dad…Dad- I'm fine," Kimberly said as Doug Hart fussed over her and she glared at him. She had just gotten her husband to let up on things and now her father was driving her crazy. "Between you and Thomas, you would think that I was terminally ill."

"He explained that it was Kiros and that…that is who…" Doug trailed off as Kimberly forced a smile. She really wished that she had been able to keep this a secret from them, but from the moment that she had seen the future- she had also seen how important it was to prepare them for what was coming. "When your mom died, I thought that was the worst thing we would ever go through as a family…but this…how am I even going to..."

"Oh, Dad- I don't know. I've seen that you and Thomas…you lean on each other, but I don't know exactly how. I do know that he will eventually remarry and that JJ will have half siblings and that you'll be a Grandpa to them, too. I think he even asks you before he…before he asks her…" Kimberly trailed off as she let the silence overtake them. Everything was heavy, even though she tried to lighten the load on the two men that would have to pick up the pieces of their lives once she was gone. She knew that all of her preparations would still leave a gaping hole in their lives.

"Guh-guh," JJ broke them out of their revelry as he slapped at Doug's knee and waved a toy up towards his face. Doug wiped his eyes and then grabbed the toy as he put on a happy face for JJ. JJ was the only thing that was keeping Thomas and Doug out of falling into a deep depression and Kimberly knew that he would be the thing that pulled Thomas along until he was able to move on. Their little boy would save his father and while that was too much for a small child to have on them, she knew that if he wasn't here- Thomas would follow her. There would be nothing left for him to live for and that- that would be the worst thing that could happen in this world.

"You know he'll try to save you. I knew from the first time I saw the two of you together that he was going to be it for you. I just never thought…I hoped that you'd get a peaceful life with a Power Ranger."

"I know, Dad. But I've had the best life I could with him. With you. With Mom. I want to live, but if it's me or my boys…they have to make it for this world to survive. I've seen that much over and over again and I'm at peace with it."

"He put himself back in the pool for powers," David said as he limped into Kiros' lair and Kiros shook his head. How stupid of him- that would just make him move more quickly. Thomas Trueheart, with powers, was going to make it nearly impossible for him to take Kimberly Trueheart out. If he was going to have a chance, he had to move before Thomas recieved his first set of powers. "That does mean he'll be at the Academy more."

"Does she suspect you?" Kiros asked as David shook his head no and Kiros leered. That was wonderful. His protection was working well on David and allowed him to be the perfect informant. In other worlds, he did not have the same luxury, but it was one that he would absolutely use here. "When will she be most susceptible?"

"Thomas is still keeping a heightened watch on her. I don't know how long that will last, but we need him to let his walls down a bit," David said as Kiros nodded. Thomas was smart to keep an eye on his prophetess, although he did not truly understand just how valuable she was. "If you need to be done by a certain time, we can distract him."

"I am on a timeline, my life force is starting to wane," Kiros admitted as David gave him a concerned look. "Don't worry son, I think she will be the perfect Christmas present."
