"What are you doing here?" Doug asked as Theo stood on his front porch and he glared at him. Atlantis and Phoebe had refused to make this housecall and had insisted that he be there, but he was not happy about it. Amelia stepped out from behind him and stood next to him. "Dr. Parker?"
"Hi Doug, can we come in?" Amelia asked and Doug found himself nodding as they walked past him. He had every intention of throwing Theo out, but for some reason Dr. Parker reassured him. "We need to explain some things to you, about your daughter and Thomas."
"What has he done to her?" Doug growled as Theo crossed his arms and then shifted his eyes to a spot above Doug's head.
"Thomas hasn't done anything, other than the job we asked him to do. We thought that maybe her powers wouldn't come in, but they showed up last night," Amelia explained and Doug froze. Powers? What powers? "I'm Amelia Parker-Crestfield."
"You're a prophetess," Doug breathed out as she nodded and he stared at her. No. His daughter could not be a prophetess. He could not lose his daughter because of something like this. "No. Absolutely not. There is no way."
"Here's what she saw," Amelia said as she passed him what Kimberly had seen related to this interaction. He read it and then sank down onto the couch. Theo settled across from him and he looked up at him.
"She's powerful. She's also Thomas' soulmate- so we would expect her to be this powerful," Theo said as Doug held his hands up and shook his head. "I know it's a lot, but there is a lot we need to discuss with you about how you can maintain your relationship with your daughter."
"I will maintain my relationship with my daughter by having her in this home and…" Doug trailed off as Amelia shook her head. "Why not?"
"Prophets fall into a special category. In order for her to have the most protection, we will need to move her into prophet training at the Academy. We don't need your permission as the law states that prophets are considered adults as soon as their powers come in and with her also already being 18, it's really not something you can stop. We know that Kimberly would want your support though. That's why we're here," Amelia said as he stared at her and let out a sigh.
"What do you mean that she's Thomas' soulmate?" Doug asked as they exchanged a glance. "Does that help her? Will it keep her safer?"
"Yes and no. Thomas will be able to get to her any time that she is in danger with little to no help from us. He'll know where she is and be able to find her, but he's powerful. He's really powerful and normally for Power Rangers, they're mates are equally powerful. We've never had a prophet as powerful as she will likely be and that means more things may come after her," Amelia admitted and Doug let out another sigh. This did not sound good. "I don't want to scare you, but I do want you to know what her reality is and why it is important that Thomas be where he can protect her best."
"You can't possibly be suggesting that they live together," Doug said as he looked over at Theo. "Would you let your teenage daughter live with her boyfriend?"
"I don't have any children. I can't say what I would do. I can say that I know I was able to keep Amelia safe because we were able to live together," Theo remarked as Doug looked between the two of them. "Yeah, she's my soulmate and yes, we have lived together since her powers came in. There's a big transition for Kimberly and a lot of that transition can be eased by having Thomas close."
"Do they know they're soulmates?" Doug asked and Theo nodded. "How long have they known?"
"Thomas has known since the beginning of the summer, he put it together. She only found out when they had neglected their connection and he landed in the hospital," Theo explained and Doug glared over at Amelia. "She did what was necessary to get the both of them under control and safe."
"Can I see her?" Doug asked as Theo and Amelia nodded. "Hold on. She's not taken away forever?"
"Absolutely not. She's resting at Thomas' apartment right now because those prophecies took a lot out of her, but there is no reason that she can't see family. We actually want her to maintain all of her relationships, but we need you to understand why she'll be leaving and why she may choose that staying with Thomas is best for them," Amelia said as Doug let out a groan. "I know it's a lot. If you want- we can stay for a little bit and you can ask any other questions that come to mind. If you don't want us to do that- I can give you our contact information and you can reach out with any questions. Kimberly is super new to this and she probably won't have all the answers. We'll have a lot more."
"Can you guarantee that she'll stay safe?" Doug asked and the room fell silent. That was one thing they could not guarantee, but they knew that Thomas was her best chance. Even if no one really wanted to talk about what that might entail.
