Chapter 93 – The Dinner Part 2

Luke opened the door and Fayet Kelen entered.

"I hope I'm not that late," he said right away, with a smile on his face,

"Not at all. Please come in," Luke said stepping aside, and closing the door. They head towards the living room, where Ken was sitting in one of the couches. The moment they entered in the room, Ken stood up. It was the first time he saw Fayet, but he heard about him, especially about his daughter from Ines and even Luke.

"Mr. Kelen, this is my father in law, Ken Talia."

"Nice to meet you," Ken said standing his hand towards Fayet, who shook his hand too.

"It is a pleasure to meet you too," Fayet said and looked at Luke. "I didn't know what bring, so I decided to bring this nice bottle of wine and these flowers for Ines."

Luke grabbed the bottle and looked at it.

"Well you didn't need to bring anything, but thank you."

"I didn't know if you drink wine."

"Actually my wife and I are not bug fans of alcohol, but my father in law, can appreciate a good wine."

"I do," Ken said looking at wine, "And this is a very good brand. We used to drink this type of wine back in Alderaan."

Fayet looked at him.

"I heard about you and Senator Organa, back in the old Republic. I'm really sorry for what happened to him and your planet."

"Thank you."

Luke looked at them and tried to change the subject.

"Well let's put the bottle on the table."

That moment, the twins came running from inside, already wearing their pajamas and their new robe.

"Hey. Look at you two," Ken smiled at his granddaughters.

"See grandpa, we have one too," Padmé said twirling around, but stop when she saw Fayet.

"Hello, you are the man that was in the hospital when mama was there."

Fayet looked at her and then to Ken and Luke.

"That's right. You have a very good memory."

Alli approached him and looked at the flowers.

"Are that for us?"

Fayet couldn't help but laugh at that, and sitting down, he look at the twins.

"Actually, these are for your mother."

"Oh," the 5 years old said looking kind of disappointed.

"I'm sorry sweetie," and looking at the flowers he took one for Alli and another one for Padmé. "Here it is."

The girls grabbed the flower and smiled.

"What do you say?"

"Thank you!" the girls said at the same time.

Alli looked at the flower and then to Luke.

"When will I get flowers from a boy?"

"Well if depends on me: NEVER!" Luke said winking at them, making the girls grunt at their father, making Luke looked back the Fayet and Ken. "Did you see this?"

"Well, they don't take your words seriously, because they know it will not make any difference, cause it will happen in the future, no matter what you say," Ken said to him. "I mean, I use to say the same thing to Ines, and look at her. Married and a mother."

Ines came inside at that moment, with Ben right behind her also in his pajamas and new robe.

"Oh Mr. Kelen, how are you?" she asked, when Fayet stood up when he saw her.

"I'm great. Here this is for you!"

Ines gasped and grabbed the bouquet and smiled.

"Thank you so much. They are beautiful," she said smelling the roses. "I better put them in water."

"We got one too?" The girls said.

"I see that, I hope you thank Mr. Kelen."

"They did," Fayet said smiling at the girls.

"Then let's put them in water too, okay."

"Yaya!" The girls said as they followed Ines towards the kitchen.

"And while they do that, how about we sat down by the table and ready to eat dinner," Luke said. "I hope you enjoy it."

"Well by the smell, I'm pretty sure I will." he said as they sat down, waiting for Ines to come from the kitchen.

A Few Hours Later:

It was 9:30pm and they has just finish dinner, while 3 older kids were still in the living room ready to their time to go to bed.

Ken rest his back on his chair and smiled.

"Do you want more?" Ines asked him and Fayet.

"Oh no, please, I'm full," Fayet said right away. "It was all delicious I have to say."

"Well but I hope you have room for dessert," Ines asked.

"I can't say no to dessert," he said with a smile.

"Father?"

"You know me and desserts," Ken laughed.

"Well now I know where your granddaughters got that love for desserts," Luke said, when the girls approached them.

"I love desserts," Alli said right away.

"Me too sweetie," Ken winked at his granddaughter.

"Papa made the dessert and we help." Padmé said right away.

"I'm sure it will be delicious," Fayet nod making the girls smile. "A didn't know you could cook." He said to Luke.

"How do you think I learn to cook these delicious meals?" Ines said winked at her husband, before she stood up and started to take the plates of the table.

"I'll help you babe," Luke said.

"I knew you had to learn from someone, cause you and the so called, domestics tasks, were something I never thought would combine, since you were a little girl."

"What do you mean?" Fayet asked.

"Well let's say that my daughter was always a tomboy. She hated parties and go shopping, and wear dresses and makeup. She prefer to be on the woods, and fight."

"Really?" Fayet said with a shocked tone on his voice. "I never believe looking at her now."

"Well she not only got older, but she fell in love. And we know when we find love, we change a little."

Ines came from the kitchen with the dessert and put in the middle of the table, while Luke brought the plates.

"Well it was thanks to you that I'm the fighter that I am today."

"That's true," Ken giggled.

Looking at the girls and Ben, she clap her hands.

"Come on, time for bed you too."

"Aww" they all said making the two old men giggled.

""No aww me, it already passed your bed time. Go say goodnight to your grandfather and Mr. Kelen."

Sighing the kids went towards Ken and Fayet, and saying goodnight to them, they head inside.

"Please eat the dessert, while we both put them to bed," Luke indicated them, before leave with Ines inside.

Serving themselves, the two men, head to the living room and sat down on the blue velvet couch.

"My son in law surprised me, cause this is delicious," Ken said right away.

"Is it," Fayet agreed, and looked back at Ken. "I heard from him that you also lost your wife and middle son."

"Yes, I did. For many years I thought I lost all of them. But I'm grateful that at least my oldest son Dan and my daughter are alive, alongside their families." Ken replied and glare at Fayet. "I'm sorry about your loss too. My daughter told me about your daughter, Nakari."

"Thanks. I'm sure you also know that she and Luke had a small relationship before she died."

"Yes I know. Luke told me. He respects you very much and respect your daughter's memory too."

Fayet nod.

"I know that now. Sometimes I look to your grandkids and wonder if she never died. If those were my grandkids."

Ken looked down at his plate.

"I understand why you think that, but…" he started but Fayet interrupted him right away.

"You don't need to continue, I know that your daughter and Luke would always end up together no matter what. When two people are meant to be together even in their mothers womb, it is very difficult not to happen. Even if will always be weird to be, how a mystical force can dictate someone's life," he said with a smile.

"Trust me, I always thought that, but I also trusted the people who said that to me and Bail. Master Yoda and Master Kenobi were great people and great Jedi. I saw things that they did, that never imagine it was possible. And seeing my son in law and daughter and also my grandkids doing the same thing, it becomes normal now."

"The Jedi and the Force. I know the stories," Fayet said. "At least we are free again."

"True. I will drink to that."

"Drink to what?" Ines asked as she and Luke entered in the living room.

"To freedom," Ken replied.

"Then we agree with you," Luke nod. "How is the dessert?"

"Delicious," both men said at the same time, which made everyone laugh.

"Then we will join you," Ines said and with that, they spend the rest of the night talking about the old days of the Rebellion to Ken and Fayet, who loved hearing things they didn't know so far.

What a great dinner. What did you guys think?
