Chapter 95 – Arriving to Naboo
The J-type Naboo star skiff landed in the Theed Hangar Base, after 3 days of traveling from Coruscant to Naboo.
The moment the ramp opened and touched the ground, the girls were ready to walked down, but Luke stopped them with the force, before they give a step. He understood that the kids were tired of being in a ship for 3 days, but still, Theed was a big capital and the last thing he wanted was his kids to walked around without adult supervision.
"Where do you two think you are going?" he asked approaching them, while Ken and Dan appeared from behind holding the luggage.
Since Han, Leia a Amidala left to Naboo before them, Luke and Ines alongside her family, decided to wait a couple of days, and they enjoyed to have another adults to talk during the long trip.
The girls looked back at their father, and sighed.
"We want to go outside," Alli replied.
"And what Papa and Mama keep saying to you and your siblings?" He asked again.
"Not go around without you," Padmé answered him.
"Exactly."
Ines appeared with Gracy with Ben and Ken Jr, both holding the younger kids.
"We know that you are tired of being inside a ship for 3 days, but we will leave together, understood?" Ines said smiling at the twins.
"Good luck Mom," Ben replied. "These too will never listen, like I do."
The twins looked at their older brother with a frown.
"Kiss ass!" Padmé pointed at him, making Luke gasped.
"Where did you learn that type of language, young lady?"
"Uncle Han says all the time," the 5 years old replied, making Luke and Ines glare at each other.
"I think I need to have a little talk to your brother in law," Ines told her husband.
"Like our son said, good luck with that," Luke answered her.
Ken looked at his daughter and son in law.
"So, are we going to Varykino right away, or do you want to stop somewhere else first?"
"I want to check my grandfather first. My mother and sister told us that they didn't find him very well, when they arrived 2 days ago, so Ines and I wanted to check on him to see if he is better!"
"You can go to Varykino if you want?" Ines said looking at them.
"I wouldn't mind to see them. They were so nice the last time we stayed in their house," Gracy nod.
"I don't mind either," Dan agreed. "What about you Father?"
"I want to check on him too. He has being my great friend, since I got my memory back."
"Then we better go, before night falls," Luke nod, and locking the ship, they walked out of the Hangar, heading to the Naberries home.
It was a sunny beginning of afternoon, with a few clouds in the blue sky. But what it makes different, especially for Ken Sr, was the fact that there was white covering everywhere, which made the kids running towards it and touch it.
"Mama, is that snow?" Padmé asked right away.
"Yes sweetheart, it is."
"It is cold and wet," Alli laughed all happy.
"That's the fun about it," Dan replied to his niece and looked at his father. "I never knew that it snowed in Naboo!"
"It is not a normal thing, but sometimes it happens. When I was here, it only snowed one time, but the winters are cold. But I see this is one those special winters."
"I'm already seeing the kids having so much fun in Varykino, just like we had," Gracy smiled remembering the times they played in the snow back in Alderaan.
Reaching the Naberries home, the girls ran up the stairs and started to bang on the door.
"Girls!" Ines called, shaking her head.
The door opened and Yuri appeared, smiling when she saw who it was.
"Look who is here. My goodness you've grown!" she said, and looking to everyone she stepped aside. "Please come inside and get out of the cold!"
As they entered inside the warm home, Jobal appeared after hearing the voices. The moment they saw her, the girls ran towards her
"Nana!"
"Oh my sweet, sweet girls," Jobal smiled hugging them, and looking at Ben, she hugged her great grandson too. "You three are getting bigger. And so are you!" she said looking at Lukey, who smiled at her from Ines's arms. "Come to Nana!" she said and picking the boy, she kissed his cheeks. "It is so good to see you. Your sister and mother were here days ago."
"We know. They told us about grandpa." Luke nod.
"Is he better?" Ben asked her, but before she could ask, they heard coughing and Ruwee appeared, making Jobal glare at her grandson.
"Pappy!" Alli said approached him.
"Hey look, the most beautiful twin girls in the gal.." he started but started to cough again, making Alli looked at her parents.
"Pappy is sick," Padmé said right away, making Ruwee looked at her.
"Is just a cough dear."
"That doesn't sound like just a cough my old friend," Ken Sr, replied approaching him and helped him to sit down on the couch, covered him with a blanket.
"Now you sound like my daughter Padmé and my granddaughter Leia!" he said between breaths, showing he was having problems to breath.
"That doesn't sound good," Dan said noticed that too.
Crouching in front of his grandfather, Luke touched his forehead.
"He seems a little hot," he glare at his grandmother. "What did the doctor said?"
Ruwee grunt, making Luke frown.
"Your grandfather is a stubborn old man, you know. Like your mother actually."
"Don't tell me you didn't see a doctor yet!" Ines said approaching him too and sitting next to him, she grabbed the 88 years old hand.
"I don't need a doctor. This is just a cough. I'm fine." Ruwee replied.
"Yes you do. And this is not just a cough," Luke said to him, making Ruwee glare at him.
"You sound just like your mother."
"Good, I take that as compliment," Luke said standing up. "I will call a doctor to see him right away."
"I don't want to."
"You will," the girls said to him pointing the finger at their Pappy, making Ruwee look at them with wide eyes.
"What an attitude you two have."
"They are right," Ken said. "I will call the doctor. I know who he is. You stay here with your grandfather."
"And we better head to Varykino," Gracy said looking at Dan.
Ines looked at her sister in law and brother.
"I think it is a better idea. Go there and warn Leia and my mother in law about this," then she had an idea. "Wait. You two are invited to the wedding, too."
"Yes, we know Luma since she was a little girl," Jobal answered, smiling at Lukey in her arms.
"Sweetheart, maybe they should go with us and stay there for the month. At least your grandfather will be near us and we can watch over him." she replied looking at Ruwee.
"I agree." Luke nod.
"Brother, when you arrived, inform my mother in law to tell Yolla to prepare their bedroom. They will go with us after the doctor check on Pappy."
"Deal," Dan nod. "Hope is nothing serious. See you all at the end of the day."
"Bye!" Gracy waved, as they left with the kids and Ken, who went to get the doctor.
Luke sighed. He hope it was nothing serious.
Ruwee is sick. Do you think it is serious?
