MP stands for Milk Points 4 (Danmachi / Seikon no Qwaser)

"You know, gifting Guild workers expensive things like this could count as bribery."

She totally should have said that before letting me hang the pendant I bought for her around her neck.

"Is that so? Then you will be paying for your own food!"

"Hey, you promised!"

"I don't see it in writing. If there is no paper evidence then it doesn't exist."

"You tri- wait a second, you're having me on, aren't you?"

"Am I? Speaking of which, where did you get such a nice pendant? I don't see a receipt for it, you must have inherited it from your mother or something."

At my obviously fake "innocent" impression, Misha opened her mouth to say something in protest, only to close it when she realized what I was getting at.

"... Okay, fine, point made. Thank you for the gift, it's nice. I didn't know a rough and tough adventurer like yourself had good taste."

"Well excuse me, I will have you know I used to be in sales, a merchant if you will. I dare say I have an eye for valuable goods."

I totally didn't think the pendant would look this good on her, then again, I had only ever seen her wearing her uniform so it was hard to picture how it would look like on her.

"It looks more like a trinket."

Well, I bought it at a trinket shop.

"Value for money."

"That's not what you said! How did you go from valuable to value for money?! Cheapskate!"

She poked at my shoulder, repeatedly.

"How much were you expecting for a first date again?"

"Value for money food."

Her grin pretty much answered the question of how serious she was about it. All things considered, it was quite obvious she wasn't bothered too much about material things.

She did, after all, only joined the Guild because her BFF Eina wanted to join it. Eina did it for the money, not for herself, but for her family.

Working at the guild offers better pay than the average Level 1 adventurer, after all.

Thankfully, I don't fall within the category of "average", in more than a few ways.

Two big bowls of food were suddenly in front of us!

What? Is this the work of an enemy stand?

"Here you go! Dinner for the cute couple!" Freya's former Level 6 head captain, Demi Ymir, Mia Grand and owner of this restaurant had somehow snuck two stupidly big portions of food on our table.

"W-what? T-that's not it! I'm his supervisor!" Misha waved her hands as if it would blow away the accusation.

"These portions are taller than I expected. When I knew I was paying around 300 Valis each I was kind of expecting "pub" portions, average size for high costs." I was more concerned with their supply chain and their profit margins. At any rate, at least I'm getting my money's worth with these portion sizes.

From what I could tell, the purchasing power of Valis was anything between 10 Valis per US dollar when it came to consumables like food, to a variable rate of 3-5 Valis per dollar when it came to Adventurer related equipment. I blame the supply and demand curves of this strange city.

"And here's today's special!"

"We ordered too much!" Misha clutched her head in shock at the size.

"I don't think so. Adventurers gotta eat, I'd say that your boyfriend will be able to put that all away by himself!" Mia was totally doing that Emiya family thing by keeping a single eye closed.

For some reason, it didn't look weird at all, as it would have in the real world. I chalked it up to anime aesthetics.

"You, my fair lady, are one of the few people I met that hadn't assumed I was a Guild Worker right from the start. Is it possible to learn this perception?" I looked at Mia seriously, wanting to know if I too, can sense a person's occupation by looking at them.

"Haha! Be careful, I think he's the type that flirts with a lot of people." She laughed and "warned" Misha to tease the short girl, before turning to me, "Not without staying in Orario for a couple of years and dealing with all types of people. Something tells me you're new to the city."

"You would be correct. I needed a career change, quite desperately, if I may add." Not like I had much of a choice in that. I was already killing monsters without a Falna, barely.

"Ah, the turbulence of youth! Enjoy it while it lasts!" She went off to serve the other customers seated at the counter.

The counter was a long L shaped structure, Misha and I was seated at near the end of the counter, with the only seat to our left being the sole corner seat where the wall would be behind a customer's back, aka… the protagonist eating area. That was where Bell would sit down on his first visit.

Man, the weird things that I bothered to remember about the series… I should have focused my time on remembering more details on a person's fighting style if I knew I would be Isekai'ed here.

"H-how am I going to eat all this?"

"I was pretty sure you were the one that said I had to be ready to "feed the beast"."

"Did you just replace my name with "beast"? That's not how I remembered it."

"It is how I remembered it."

"... Haha. That's more like it! Eina and everyone else at the guild ain't got nothing on your sass."

"I think that applies more to you. And are you implying that I talk impudently to others?"

"Do you talk to your god like that?"

"Only when he throws away money by being too much of a bleeding heart. There is a clear line between being nice and being scammed, repeatedly… by the same people."

"I thought all gods could tell when someone lies?"

"Miach doesn't know how to ask the right questions."

We chatted about our day-to-day lives outside of dungeon related matters. Misha opened up more about why she joined the Guild (which was something I already knew) and what she did in her spare time, namely, voice training.

"It's not like I want to sing or anything. But there was this one time when I was a kid, well, we were all play acting as different characters in some big story, but they told me to play the "moving pillar" because I sounded dull. What do they take me for? An extra in some play? After that, I felt like proving them wrong by practicing, but then here I am, far from home in the big city of Orario."

"I know how you feel. There was this one time where I was pretty out of shape, then as I was jogging around my home area, there was this tiny kid a couple of years younger than me that ran past me. After running an entire round around the field, despite starting around the same time as me, so I got so pissed off that I started running every day till I got good enough to beat him at it."

"Haha! Talk about petty."

"No you."

"...You got me. I'm going to use that comeback right back at you next time."

"Oh? So when do you want to schedule this "next time"?"

Misha stopped herself just before she replied, she was speechless, and her less than happy expression made it obvious it wasn't the "good" type of speechlessness.

"What's wrong?"

"W-what am I doing? What if… there is no next time?"

"... Do you want to talk about it?"

"It… my first assigned adventurer… he, um…"

Right, I should have known it was like this.

From the news I've heard about Ais recently leveling up to Level 5, I knew I was about 3 years before canon really kicks off. Both Eina and Misha had their first assigned adventurer's reported dead somewhere between 3-4 years prior to canon.

I thought it was a little strange that Misha seemed perfectly fine with befriending me when by the time canon rolls around, only Eina was shown to be one of the few that couldn't stop themselves from getting "attached" to their adventurers.

I'm still very early into the timeline with regards to Misha's progression towards professionalism. But that didn't mean she couldn't recall the sadness and misplaced guilt from having one of her adventurers dying "on her watch".

If I was Bell then I would have just said something confidently like "I will definitely come back to you" or something that a shounen harem protagonist would say in order to charm her.

As a man of my word, so long as I'm not trying to screw someone evil over, I wouldn't make such promises to her.

I spent awhile rubbing her back as she poured out her feelings on what had happened recently.

"Food and drinks will be on me same time next week." I promised her softly enough so that she would hear it.

"Huh?" She didn't quite understand my intentions yet.

"If I'm not there then eat to your heart's content… hey Mia! Do you set up tabs here?"

"Haha, no! No one gets away without paying!" The female Giant replied back from across the counter.

"Mind if I put in some money in advance instead? My friend here loves your food a lot, but she can't handle her own money for crap! If I don't make it back here next week she's going to end up starving!"

"H-hey! That's not- what are you doing?"

I placed a pouch of Valis up the counter, Mia walked by and dropped it's contents to her hand.

"20,000 Valis, you sure you are a new adventurer?"

"W-what?! So much!"

"If I'm not here next week, same time, then that's your credit to spend. You can spend it on drinks, get drunk and tell everyone about how stupid I am for dying so early, alright?"

Mia read the mood and passed the money off to Syr, telling her to let the "shortie with the pink hair" eat and drink from the amount of money given.

"... Only 20,000… you're such a cheapskate..." The ghost of a smile flitted across her sad features. "If you die I'm going to end up drinking ten times that amount."

"I sure hope not, for your sake."

"You're not my boss. I can drink however much I want."

"At least until your liver gives out."

"I will go to your Familia for potions then."

"Naaza will totally rip you off then."

We spent the rest of our time in the restaurant talking about more pleasant topics.

I got us some drinks, we ended up talking about some more embarrassing things, as if we were making sure we knew a lot about each other's regrets by the end of the night.

Turns out that she could really drink a lot.

Even so, we both had our limits.

"I-its sho lefty from that lamp!"

"You just said it was, urgh, right from there like… 10 seconds ago."

"No! It's left!"

I gave my friend a piggyback all the way back to her home, that was about… five stories up. She said something about Eina being just a floor below, but it seems like everyone was already asleep.

"Yeah, home sweet home. Hey, hey…" She whispered, "Now that we're in a safe place you can tell me all about that Skill we talked about, right?"

"Did I say that?"

"You did!"

"Huh… watch then."

I flicked my finger up, a gust of wind blew her skirt up.

"Hyah!"

"I can make breezes. Did you know if you put a lot of air into an Infant Dragon's body when they want to turn you into charred meat, they blow up? And take all the monsters along with them?"

Even when I'm feeling a bit tipsy, my powers apparently help in metabolizing substances (at least that's my guess), I still managed to hide the scope of my powers rather easily.

"So that's how you do it! Hahaha! Cheater~"

It helps that Misha isn't in the best state of mind to process information.

"Not cheating if I do things intelligently."

"It's cheating. There was no cast time at all!"

"It's a skill, not a spell."

"Cheating~"

"Not cheating, it's super limited."

"Oh yeah? By what?"

"I need to drink something really special."

"Oh what? Milk? Hehe…"

"My, you guessed it correctly. Want to see how it's done?"

"I have no milk in my room~"

"That's where you're wrong."

"Hmm?"

I walked up to her, lifting her up-

"Whoa! Weee…!"

-Then placing her down on her bed.

I pulled up her dress, she made no real move to stop me.

"Heeeey, what are you doing?"

"Drinking some milk."

She pouted as I grinned, "Silly! There's no milk there."

"Oh, I don't think so."

I rubbed my hand up her young, soft skin, reaching the bra (why do people in this era even have it?) and pushed it up.

One of my hands gently gave her small breasts a small squeeze.

Misha giggled, "Come on, there's no milk there. Oh, are you a momma's boy?"

"I don't know mommy."

I dived in, sucking the small amounts of Soma I could get from her, licking her sensitive nipple to make sure I don't waste a single drop. And I did the same with her other breast too.

"Ah! Ahh… what, hey, ah… that's enough, licking more, isn't going to…"

"I beg to differ. Look."

She looked down and noticed the small trail of milk from my tongue to her breast, her face's blush grew more pronounced as she took in the sight, "W-what? No way… I'm not pregnant. Oh!"

I sucked up a bit from her but didn't swallow, I moved my face up her chest to the point where I could plant a kiss on her lips.

"Mm-mph!" She was surprised by the kiss, I made sure to wrap my tongue up with hers, passing the milk shared with me back to its producer.

"Ah-ha…"

"See, it's milk."

"It doesn't taste normal~"

"My skill lets me draw out special milk from girls."

"Pervert, you have a perverted skill…!"

"Is it now?"

"Yeah… hey, um.."

"Yes?"

She wrapped her arms around my back, pulling her face up to me, looking at me eye-to-eye, she told me what she wanted.

"Do that again."

Miach and Naaza fussed over me by the time I got back to them in the morning, at least until, I told her who I had been with. Miach was happy for me, although considering that I didn't elaborate on what had happened, I think he is currently misunderstanding on just how far we had gotten before we slept on the same bed. Naaza seemed supportive, even though she seemed to be having some "complicated" feelings about it… hopefully, she will take it as an encouragement to advance her relationship with Miach more directly.
