Chapter 81:
Loopholes and Presents
As Ana did her final check on her bags, she noticed Sanae smirking at her mischievously. Her friend teased, "A full week with no supervision. I guess my friend will be leaving a girl and coming back a woman."
Ana chucked her pillow at her friend. "Get your mind out of the gutter. Nothing like that is going to happen."
That reminded her, she put the inflatable pillow Seto had gifted her into the side pocket of her bag.
Sanae chucked Ana's pillow back on the bed and grinned. "You never know. You remember when I gave you some protection. You might want to bring it with you just in case."
Ana scowled at her friend, then she sneered at her. "How is it going with Minami-san? You still talking to him even after graduation?"
Her best friend huffed loudly. "I'm not going to date a high schooler when I'm about to go into college. We are just friends who volunteer together at the nursing home. Speaking of that, I have to get going."
"Have fun volunteering with the boy who's majorly crushing on you." Ana teased her and Sanae stuck her tongue out at Ana before leaving. Ana finished packing her bag and looked around to make sure she wasn't missing anything. She looked over at her old purse that she was going to switch out for a smaller strap bag for the trip. I won't need that. Ana got a message from Seto that he was here to pick her up. She paused at the door, but then quickly went to her old bag, dug out the condom that Sanae gave her long ago as a joke and put it in her new purse. I won't need it, but only idiots don't prepare for unplanned scenarios. That's right. I'm not an idiot. She headed downstairs with her bag and headed outside after saying goodbye to her family. Seto was waiting for her at the gate next to a black car. He was wearing a long white sleeve turtleneck that was a little too tight on his arms.
"Ana?" Seto asked.
Ana quickly stopped staring, her face on fire. "It's nothing."
"Right," Seto took her bag from her and put it in the trunk before opening her door. She got in and they headed off to the airport.
"So, where are we going?"
"North."
She pouted. "You're not going to tell me until we get there are you?"
"Nope." He chuckled.
They finally arrived at the airport and headed to a private hanger where his Blue-Eyes jet was. Ana looked up at the jet. "It's been a while Bluey."
Seto froze and glared down at her. "No. You are not naming my jet Bluey. Ever."
She rolled her eyes but didn't push it as Seto helped her into the jet. She was nervous for the take off, but it was fun after they were in the air. She enjoyed the short hour ride as they went North and landed in a small, secluded airport at the base of the mountains. From there they took a rental car and headed into the mountains. Ana looked around and realized they were going to what appeared to be an onsen town.
"A hot springs? That sounds nice…you didn't book out a whole hot spring, did you?" Ana looked at Kaiba suspiciously.
He just smiled. "Nope. I didn't."
She was a little surprised by this answer. However, when they arrived at the traditional inn that was on the outskirts of the small town there wasn't another car in the parking lot.
She got out looking around suspiciously. A woman came out to greet them and a bell hop took their bags. The woman led them inside and showed them to the rooms closest to the hot springs entrance.
"The one on the left if for the young man, the one on the right is for the young lady. Dinner will be served at five p.m. Your luggage will be brought to your rooms shortly. I hope you enjoy your stay." The woman bowed to them before leaving. The bellhop literally came right after she said this and delivered their bags. Ana didn't even have time to open the door to her room. After the bell hop left, she turned to Seto with her arms crossed.
"Amin-chan…it's summer break. Where are the other guests?"
"What guests? Why would there be guests on private property?" He smirked at her.
Ana could feel a slight headache coming on. "You bought yourself a hot spring just for a week vacation?"
"Nope." Seto reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded paper. He handed it to her grinning.
Ana took the paper, confused, and opened it. It was a deed for the hot springs in her name. She rubbed her eyes thinking she had misread. She had not.
"A-Amin-chan, are you insane?" Ana looked up at him, her hands shaking.
He just laughed. "Insanely brilliant."
"What the hell am I supposed to do with an onsen? I can't maintain it or run it as a business!" Ana was very tempted to shove the deed in his face.
"You won't have too. Your grandfather agreed to be the one in charge of it until you turn twenty and the staff will still run it like they always have. You can use it for vacations when you like and a small percentage of the profits will go to your personal bank account not your family's. It took a lot of doing, but I made sure the property will be yours no matter what."
Ana frowned deeply at him. "Mine no matter what?"
Seto shook his head and leaned down. He kissed her gently on the cheek making her blush. "It's a graduation present for all your hard work and for choosing to go to Domino University. If you don't want it though, I suppose I could buy you something else."
Ana cringed. "No. Please don't. Knowing you, you'll buy something even worse."
He straightened up, a glint in his eyes as he asked, "What would you consider worse?"
"I don't know, a sky scrapper."
His smile widened at this. "That's not a bad idea. I could have them build one next to Kaiba Tower. It can't be as tall, though. We could name it Chi tower."
Ana held up her hands in defeat. "The onsen's fine."
He grinned at her triumphantly. "Good choice."
Ana groaned out loud making Seto chuckle. This trip just started and I'm already exhausted.
