Goddess's blessings on this Not So Wonderful New World! 2 (R34 Economy / Overlord)

Orion?

By the time I processed the meaning of that name, the blue-haired beauty had finished looking over me and proceeded to leap at me.

I fell to the ground at the suddenness of her embrace.

I was being hugged. I could feel her cheeks resting so close to my face that it tickled. It was one of the best hugs I've got in a long while since I've moved out of my parents house. This was, in no small part, due to her soft, large breasts pressed against my chest.

"Eh? EEEEH!?" A shout of surprise came from Satella, who seemed to be utterly confused at how we've gone from a life threatening situation to a romcom one.

With just her passing words I was able to deduce the sequence of events involving the four individuals here. Jibril killed Nigun (and the bois) in his "Operation: Lure Out Gazef" while Satella and I were lost in the woods, the goddess caught some kids running away from the village that was being slaughtered earlier and was sidetracked from coming to my location, which she knew about due to using her goddess powers or something.

As I managed to talk with best murderous girl Jibril and survive for awhile, the goddess managed to make it in time to save my sorry ass.

Speaking of this goddess, it was only thanks to my instincts screaming "she's a goddess" (no doubt due to the odd aura the blue-haired lady seemed to be giving off), my knowledge of Greek mythology and the Danmachi universe that I managed to deduce the woman's identity.

"Goddess Artemis, thank you for saving us." I sincerely thanked my savior, feeling slightly awkward that she hasn't reacted yet.

Finally, she moved her head to face me with a joyous expression, "You recognized me! This must truly be a fated encounter! Ah, I wonder what Hestia would say if she saw me like this."

"Maybe something like "Eh!? That's the Artemis I know? No Way! S-she can't possible be-!"" I used my high-school's drama lessons to mimic the honest, girly (and a bit childish) and lively reactions that I think Hestia might have. Kinda like how she acted in the movie when Bell and the gang were at the church after Artemis introduced herself.

Hmm, my recall seems to be getting better now.

"Hahaha! That does sound like the Hestia I know! Have you met her before? Do you know where she is?" Artemis laughed and asked me with an inquisitive look.

"I haven't met her personally. I've read about her and watched her antics before though. She should still be in Orario with her Familia, assuming all is well." I answered honestly without hesitation.

It wasn't as though I had her lie-detector abilities on the top of my mind. I just didn't think that there was nothing wrong with answering her questions. If my gut feeling was right, none of the girls here would mind knowing the truth as I know it, or some other common theory for this sort of scenario that would work for characters used to other dimensions. (e.g. the Justice League deals with a lot of this)

Quickly turning to Satella before she got it in her head that I was ignoring her (and before the Witch of Envy goes berserk at me even using another woman's name), I smiled and said, "Satella, this is Artemis. Goddess of the hunt, forests and hills, the Moon, and archery. Artemis, this is Satella, we met in the forest earlier."

"Hmm, that's quite the introduction. I hope I can get to know you more than you know me though… Right!" Artemis got off me and pulled Satella up with little effort, then grabbed Satella's hands with her own, "Hello, it's nice to meet you Satella! Do you have a mark on you too? It's just a hunch, but I really think this is all a wonderful destined meeting!"

Satella was blushing a little, clearly flustered by how forward Artemis was being with her, "Um, it's nice to meet you too Artemis! I mean, Goddess Artemis!"

"Just Artemis is fine!"

"Then, Artemis. Um, what do you mean by mark?"

"Umm, well, it's pink and it should be somewhere on your body. Mine is right here, it wouldn't be appropriate to show it right now, so I'll just point." Artemis placed her finger atop her pubic area.

Satella overheated.

Oh gods, yes. I've been looking forward to this.

Wait, why am I thinking like that? Why is such a thought so agreeable to me? Since when was I such a perverted degenerate? I shouldn't be a perv in real life, I only enjoy such things in the comfort of my own room while watching certain series like Taimanin Asagi.

… Yeah, that sounds like complete bullshit. Who the hell am I trying to convince?

That said, my default behavior is that of an ordinary gentleman that respects women. So I shouldn't have to worry about myself losing control due to lust or something stupid like that.

"W-why did you even check that area?!"

"I arrived here naked, so I managed to notice it immediately. I made myself some clothes soon after with my Arcanum." Artemis explained and I made a note to myself that unbound Danmachi goddesses can pretty much alter reality or create matter to a point.

"N-nick! Turn around!"

"You're going to check out here?!"

"Uh, excusez-moi?" We all turned to look at Jibril, who was looking a bit annoyed at being ignored and was using some really bad accented foreign language to catch our attention, "Don't you think it's very rude of you all to just ignore me?"

Despite her seemingly calm demeanor, it looked like Jibril was reasonably hurt. Each of her wings had a single one of Artemis's arrows protruding out of it, her right arm didn't seem functional with two holes through it and… I might be wrong, but she doesn't seem like a danger right now.

"You tried to kill us!" Satella clearly didn't care about Jibril's state and responded furiously, "You almost killed Nick! HE'S MINE! ALL MINE! I'LL KILL YOU!"

The sun was blotted out by countless shadowy hands in an instant, Jibril was being grabbed by dozens of them and by the looks of it, was in the process of being torn apart.

Artemis looked like she wasn't sure who to shoot at.

Fuck shit fuck the world is gonna dieeEEE! We're all gonna die!

Ah. Wait. That's it!

I remember now!

Pressing a hand against my chest since that's as good of a guess as any,

"Witch of Envy, by the order of my command seal, calm down and don't attack anyone without my say so!" I didn't have time to think of the specific wording so I went with what I thought would work.

A bright red light shone past the shirt I was wearing before it receded into nothing.

Jibril was released and was left gasping for air desperately.

The shadows returned back to Satella, who still had a crazy look in her eyes, "I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU."

"I know."

There was nothing else that needed to be said.

Satella collapsed to her knees, looking distraught, "H...haa… I did it again. No, no no no!"

I went down on a knee and hugged her, "Satella, it's going to be alright. See, no one has gotten… seriously hurt."

"Ow…"

"Shut it Jibril! Shh, Satella, everything's okay."

"You knew… you knew! You called the Witch of Envy by her title, you knew she was me!"

"I figured it out a couple of minutes after you introduced yourself, yes."

I did not deny the truth. There was no need to.

"You should have killed me…"

"Like I said before, I will save you. I wouldn't have killed you then, I would not have you die now either."

"I'm dangerous."

"And I will save you regardless. I won't leave you alone to face this yourself. If nothing else, then please know it to be true."

"..."

"Do you believe me?"

"... Yes."

I wasn't sure if I was saying the right words or if the perks were making me supernaturally convincing, but I was honestly too relieved to care.

"Are you fine with this Artemis?" I asked the Goddess that had her bow and arrow aimed at Satella.

Artemis smiled and nodded, "Yes, it seems like everything will be fine. Satella, while your power and that… other you, may be evil, I think that with enough time you will certainly find a solution. Hmm, hmm, I can imagine it already! Love! The magic medicine has got to be love!"

It looks like Artemis is in her own head, I bet she's imagining some epic romance between Satella and I that involves saving the tragic elf from a great evil lurking within her by going on an epic quest, failing, only to find that the panacea to their dilemma was the true love they built up together on their journey. Then they live happily ever after.

… Oh, never-mind. I'm the romantic here.

"Kuh… to be brought low by some pointy-eared forest dweller…" Jibril was bemoaning her situation on the ground.

"Do you have some problem with elves?" Artemis asked with a hint of impatience.

"Of course I do. They're not dead." Jibril replied as if there was absolutely nothing strange with her statement.

"She's part of a race of killer angels made by a God of War and meant for the sole purpose of exterminating all other races. Although, as the last born of Artosh, Jibril has a different purpose than what was intended for her sisters."

"How… how do you know all this?"

I didn't answer Jibril as I had more important concerns at the moment.

Watching the fast approaching fog, I called out, "Izanami. Are you not entertained?"

"Ah, that's a classic."

I whirled my head around, finding myself face-to-face with the grey-haired goddess wearing… a Yasogami High Girls Uniform!?

That's pretty hot. Wait no! Stop thinking about JK's!

I looked back at the fog behind me then back at Izanami, "You totally used the fog as a decoy so that you can troll me by appearing behind me, didn't you?"

"And now you learned a valuable lesson on relying on what seems to be, on the surface, the truth. You may now praise your benevolent goddess for her blessing and for imparting wisdom." Izanami said all that in a jovial manner.

"All hail Izanami-no-Mikoto, goddess of creation and death! Thank you for jump-starting my Persona powers, but in all seriousness, were you just watching all of this-" I gestured towards the destruction wrought by the quick fight and the subsequent drama, "-happen on the sidelines?"

She shrugged, "Yeah. Pretty much."

As expected of the final boss that stayed out of the entire plot in the game until everyone forgot about that one trippy prologue scene.

"... I am actually not surprised by that. Huh…. out of curiosity, is the school uniform new or were you masquerading as a student and working at the Moel Gas Station part-time?"

"It's new. After being banished by my children I decided to learn more about the power of humanity, specifically on youth and bonds."

Artemis looked at Izanami then back at me, and asked as if expecting some answers from me, "She doesn't look like the Izanami I know."

"We're all from different universes. Different gods, different rules… on the topic of gods, if my suspicions are correct, then there should be three more goddesses around here."

"The goddess of water and the goddess of fortune are… a bit lost. As for the magician that transcended into the realms of gods-" Izanami added on, trailing off and looking to the space at the top of the grassy hill I tumbled down from.

The world shattered and a young blonde girl stepped forth from beyond the cracks. She was essentially wearing a swimsuit, witches hat and cape. The single green eye and glowing red eye-patch was a dead giveaway.

"Magic God Othinus."

"Human."

And that was the end of her acknowledgement of my existence.

On my end, the mark on her bare chest area was confirmation enough for me.

No Gungnir. Not 15 cm tall. An arrogant sense of boredom and mild curiosity.

This Othinus likely hasn't been caught in the TouMAN's orbit yet.

Pity. Well, I know enough to help her discover what she truly desired herself. I can't understand, not truly, what she's been through but at the very least, I should be able to help her.

Turning back to Izanami, I asked, "How are we going to find the other two?"

Then I heard the sound of flowing water.

"Three, two, one…" Izanami started to count down from three.

"AHHHHHH! HELP ME ERIS!"

"I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AQUA-SENPAI!"

Two goddesses being carried by an out-of-place flood of water crashed into Othinus from behind, sending the surprised magic god tumbling down in a pile of bodies until the three goddesses landed on my feet.

Ah, my shoes are wet now.

That's a lot of water.

"Wh-what! HOW!" Othinus was utterly flummoxed by the fact that she was taken off-guard.

Izanami looked at me as if challenging me to give the explanation.

"Different worlds, different systems… different mana. A magician's mana from your world comes from refining one's life force, as you become a Magic God's, your mana becomes particularly distinct and set apart from other sources of mana. Aqua and Eris are goddesses managing different worlds but they were born as goddesses, in addition to that mana is derived differently there, as such, your senses weren't trained to detect their type of mana."

"I-I could have figured that out human!"

"Eh? Aqua-senpai, we found someone that knows us!"

"Of course we did! I have many devout worshipers across lots of worlds that praise me, the great Aqua! It's only natural for me to have my followers waiting for my arrival-"

"Sorry but I'm not part of the Axis Order. I believe in Eris as the Goddess of Fortune-"

"EEEEEHHHH!?"

"Ahahaha, it's rather flattering to be recognized instantly."

Sorry Eris. I can't waste this opportunity.

"-even if she does wear pads."

"AHHH!" Eris grabbed onto my shirt and started shaking me rapidly in panic mode, "How do you know that!? Who knows that?! Do all my followers in this world know that!?"

"Kususususu-!" Aqua didn't bother to hide her mocking laughter.

"I Can-! Explain-! When you stop shaking-! Me!" She finally released me and I was allowed to reassure her that no one else knew she used pads, "Also, I don't mind pads."

"Unbelievable… are these two actually gods?" Othinus stood there in disbelief, oh if she only knew that she would have in one world, ran and hid from a cat of all things.

"Well, in the end, gods are people too. You remind me of Odin a lot, though." Artemis introduced herself to Othinus, who seemed wary, but acknowledged the goddess with reasonable respect.

Izanami introduced herself as well, she was received a greater level of wariness from the more serious goddesses, which was appropriate considering that she seemed to be more well-informed of the situation.

"I get the feeling that I'm very out of place." Satella muttered to herself.

"I feel the same way. The sight of multiple Old Deus's gathering together without killing each other is pretty unusual." Jibril casually stood next to Satella as if they hadn't tried to kill each other a few minutes ago.

"If you're asking me then I'm the oddest one out for being the only human here."

They all turned to look at me when they finally remembered that I had been dropping enough knowledge bombs to the point where it was clear I had a better idea on the whole picture than they did.

"Ah right, now I remember."

The meta option was a typical game menu to access the rest of the catalog.

With a thought, the menu that was visible only to me appeared in front of me, and at the top of all the options was a red-colored button that read [Press here for first time entry to Sweet Home].

Needless to say, I decided to pull an Aqua and pressed the big red button.
