Chapter 14: Indigo League Tournament Finale

"So how does the rest of the matches work?" Dawn asked before Titania shrunk her down for more cheerleading Hela on.

"Well, this battle is three on three," James said. "After that are the top eight which are full six on six battles."

"We'll do our best." Hela said as the shrunk Dawn teleported onto Eevee's head ready to cheer.

The first battle of the top 16 was a boy named Ritchie that looked a lot like Hela did when she was still Ash.

The first pokemon was Happy the Butterfree versus Charmander. Charmander used flamethrower to burn the sleep powder. Happy then used confusion to send the flamethrower back, only for Charmander to duck under it and jump up and land a fire fang before jumping away from a Stun Spore. Happy then used Psybeam only for Charmander to strike back with metal claw covered in ember for the win.

Next pokemon was Zippo the Charmeleon, and Hela switched to Squirtle who blocked flamethrower with hydro pump, and dragon rage with ice beam. Zippo then rushed forward with Slash, only for Squirtle to knock him back with skull bash, then a close range hydro pump. Zippo then used Rage only for Squirtle to use Withdraw followed by hydro pump again for the win.

The last pokemon was Sparky the Pikachu versus Athena. But Athena had a massive advantage with her ability to teleport combined with her ability of lightning rod. That it was an easy victory.

The next match was against Janine, Koga's daughter.

Her first pokemon was venomoth, while Hela sent out Titania. Venomoth tried to use stun spore only for Titania to catch it in psychic before using psybeam for the win. Next was Ariados, which used sticky web to lay a trap for any pokemon switched to before being knocked out by Psystrike. Weezing was next with Titania using calm mind while teleporting away from the attacks, not wanting to be caught by explosion or destiny bond. but once the calm mind maxed out special she knocked him out with psychic before he could use either move. Next was Arbok, and Tentacruel, who were easily defeated with one attack due to the type advantage, and maxed out special. The final pokemon was Crobat who was more difficult by flying out of the way and using speed to dodge any ranged attacks while sending attacks down, but Titania just teleported behind Crobat and delivered a point blank Psychic for the win.

The next pokemon was the Johto gym leader Whitney, and in the audience every one from Johto that had took the league challenge winced at the Miltank sent out first. Miltank. Hela was going to send out Artemis, but saw the wince and decided to send out Titania instead and waited to see what was so dangerous about Miltank.

The answer was the move Roll Out, but Titania won by catching Miltank with Psychic and tossing her into the air stopping her while she was hit by psybeam for the win.

This caused every former johto leaguer in the audience, plus a few of the elites that had similar trouble with her to face palm at not realizing a psychic move or other method to get miltank off the ground could stop her in her tracks.

Next was Wigglytuff who managed to put Titania to sleep with sing. Unfortunately for Titania by indigo league rules that counts as a knock out.

Meanwhile in the VIP Lounge Red frowned wondering when that became a rule.

Luckily for Hela, Dragonite used extreme speed to knock out wigglytuff before she could be put to sleep. Then used Hurricane to confuse the Tauros next and cause him to run headfirst into the wall and knock himself out. Ambipom, was next as Dragonite got him in a hug, also known as Wrap, which stomped him from being able to attack before being knocked out since dragon hugs are strong. Ursaring was next and Dragonite tried to use dragon rush, only to be stopped by the fairy type move Play Rough before being knocked out by an ice punch. Hela then sent out Athena who used Agility which allowed her to dodge the hammer harm, before using mirror move to use the super effective hammer arm on ursaring followed by a thunderbolt to finish him off. Whitney's final pokemon was Clefable who made Hela decide to teach all of her pokemon protect after it got a metronome chosen explosion that knocked Athena out. Luckily it also knocked itself out and that left Hela the winner with three pokemon left.

First up was Titania versus Pidgeot. Titania tried to use Psychic, only for Pidgeot to use mirror move and block with it's own psychic then rush in with Wing Attack. Titania teleported out of the way, and used psybeam before being hit by Whirlwind that sent her back and sent out Athena. Pidgeot paled and tried to use Sky Attack only for Athena to teleport out of the way at the last second causing Pidgeot to crash before being knocked out by a Thunderbolt. Next Gary used Rhydon due to the immunity to electric type moves, and used Leer, then Tail whip when athena teleported behind him in an attempt to dodge. Rhydon then used Fury Attack while Athena was recovering, though she survived and used Rain Dance, then used the water from the rain to use Surf. Rhydon roared in pain and tried to use Horn Drill only for Athena to dodge with quick attack and win with another surf.

Gary's next pokemon was Exeggutor who tried to use Hypnosis only for the rain to break the line of sight, and stop it. Gary tisked at that before having Exeggutor use barrage at a distance and stomp when Athena got close. However Athena used Sweet Kiss from when she was a Pichu and made Exeggutor confused and causing him to knock himself out.

Meanwhile Gary's father Blue noticed something about Gary's team and was not happy.

Gary then sent out Arcanine as the rain stopped and had him use Roar before Athena could replace the Rain Dance, and everyone was suprised when Dawn appeared on the battlefield.

"That's not Titania." Gary said, having not seen Dawn's new form yet. "Did you catch a second?"

"No." Hela said looking down at Eevee, and seeing Athena now shrunk on her head instead of Dawn. "Titania is both my pokemon and a trainer in her own right. She is Dawn's trainer not me. I don't know why Dawn was sent out."

It took a few minutes for the referee to look through the rule book.

"Okay." The referee said. "It is an old rule from a few decades ago, but if a pokemon is a trainer, then if they are caught their pokemon can be used by their trainer. Because Titania is Hela's pokemon that means Hela can use Dawn in battle as long as she is not battling Titania herself. Match continue."

"I'll do my best." Dawn said looking at Arcanine feeling a rush at actually getting to take part and help Hela, but she looked just in time to get hit by Leer, she then used Trick Room to make herself faster then Arcanine and blast him with psybeam. He tried to use Roar again, but it was blocked by protect as she continued hitting him, he also tried Ember and Take Down, but with Trick Room in play he was too slow and lost.

The next pokemon was Alakazam who set up Reflect as Dawn renewed the Trick Room, he then used Psybeam to block Shadow Ball, and psychic to block magical leaf, but was distracted by that so Dawn could use teleport behind him and hit him with a shadow ball, though he used Recover to heal himself. Dawn frowned at that before smirking. Titania had been helping her train for contests and so she sent a bunch of smaller shadow balls out rapid fire, and used psychic to control them in a continuous attack that did not let Alakazam have time to use Recover giving her the win as the Trick Room wore off. Gary's final pokemon was Blastoise, and Dawn teleported away from Hydro Pump and used magical leaf, Blastoise blocked that with withdraw, before using Blizzard against the entire area, but Dawn blocked it with protect and teleported close to deliver a magical leaf from to close to block. She did so, but found that Blastoise knew Bite. Unfortunately for Blastoise her secondary typing of fairy made it less effective then against other psychic types and she was able to launch another magical leaf for the win.

"We did it!" Hela cheered as she and Titania tackle-hugged Dawn.

"You know." Dawn said as they left the stadium. "That rule, that was used to let me battle means, If Titania transfers Hela's pokeball to me, then I would have Hela, Hela would have Titania, and Titania would have me, meaning we could all use each other in any battle or contest."

"I'll think about it." Titania said knowing that Dawn was the only one she would trust with Hela, but not making a decision yet. "I'll give you an answer after the award ceremony."

"GARY OAK!" they suddenly heard and turned to see Gary was behind them and his father Blue was not happy and making a beeline for Gary.

Gary started shaking like a leaf and said "Dad what's up?"

Blue responds with "don't you What's up me son, why did you copy my team when I was Kanto Region Champion?"

Gary responds with "I thought you wouldn't mind it."

Blue then says "of course I mind would it have killed you to create a team all your own?"

Gary says in response "okay I'm sorry for copying your team from when you were the Kanto Region Champion. I'll try creating my own team from here on out."

Blue then says "that's good since if you were to even try following my footsteps any further I'd give you a lesson I call "Blue's Pokemon Training Boot Camp" and go full on drill sergeant on you."

Gary then leaves feeling completely humiliated that his father scolded him in front of the tournament audience.

After that entertainment they headed to the award ceremony.

Mr. Goodshow gives the Indigo League Tournament trophy to Hela and congratulates her on her victory.

Hela gives a speech that can be summed up as the typical award winner speech.

before Hela goes home Lance walks up to her and says "hello there."

Hela says "hello."

Lance then says " I'm Lance of the Kanto Elite 4 and I'm here to give an invitation to you."

Hela then asks "What am I getting invited to?"

Lance responds with "on behalf of the Kanto Elite 4 and the Kanto Region Champion I'm inviting you to a chance to face the Elite 4 and the Kanto Region Champion and should you win you'll be the new Kanto Region Champion."

Hela then says " I accept the invitation."

She then asks "Who is the current champion?"

Lance was leaving when she asked this and looked over his shoulder and says "That's a secret that you'll find out if you make it to him."

and with that Lance left and Hela, Titania and Dawn made their way back to Pallet Town and spent a couple of months training and relaxing and after that the time has come for Hela to face the Kanto Elite 4 and the Champion not knowing she'll be having a reunion with Red that they'll never forget.

Ending AN: that's the chapter. The Indigo League Tournament is now over and only the Kanto Elite 4 and Champion remain.

Next Time: Hela and Titania face the Kanto Elite 4 and Champion. Hela has a reunion with Red and defeats him which makes her the new Kanto Region Champion and he joins her on her Journey through Johto.
