3-In-1 Instant Quirks 9 (My Hero Academia, Villain SI)
"-while I still find it troubling that the chain of islands discovered and guarded by my family and our spatial-type Quirks for centuries has been made public knowledge in such a way, it is my personal belief that we should appreciate the past but strive for the future. Henceforth, I shall be developing Isle Nublar-"
I took advantage of the chaos that had began in Angana which I had put an end to via 'mysterious deaths' (some crazy folks even claimed that I, as President Modi, had resurrected himself to save the country), leading to even greater global scrutiny and speculation, in order to publicly reveal my dinosaur island with 'minimal' fanfare.
With most eyes focused on the African continent for the moment the press releases that I had been wrapping up were predominantly Asian centric. In other words, I had to directly address the damned Koreans' speculations after their pro-hero and villains had somehow ended up in international waters, east of Japan, and stumbled on my islands.
After that, I had 'whispered' some suggestions to the Japanese government (the island's closest neighbor) and made an agreement for our mutual benefit. It was a win-win situation for all of us after I dangled the chance of obtaining advances in the bio-sciences in front of them while setting Japan up as the primary departure point to Isle Nublar, meaning lots of money coming in foreign visitors among other things.
The scientific community would be banging their heads harder than Izuku rewatching All Might's videos by the time I'm done with them.
"-Jurassic World will be open to the public when it is completed. I will also be hosting an online competition-"
I made up some bullshit about applying online to stand a chance to win a visit to Jurassic World for free. In reality, I was only going to let potential waifus win the competition, and maybe one respectable male adult just to make it look 'fair'.
"Any questions? Yes, you, the journalist dude with the glasses."
"It's Tokuda Taneo from Juzo News-"
"-I've been up all night and I am literally running on coffee right now so get on with it."
He asked a pretty decent question about whether the revival and propogation of most of the dinosaurs were due to natural efforts or technology means. I took the time to answer him without giving away the full truth while pointing him in the direction of some of my research institutions with the cloning business, the one that was gaining a lot of attention after replacing Ectoplasm's legs and creating many cloned organs for various high-profile individuals.
"Who would win? Your T-Rex or Godzillo?"
Some questions… weren't so decent.
I took a deep breath before I rolled my eyes and responded to the rookie journalist from Shoowaysha Publishing.
Come to think of it, that company's executive director was also an executive member of the Meta-Liberation Army. Urgh… Chitose, that blue bitch wasn't my type at all. I denied all her requests to get a face-to-face interview with me because she was the bad type of obsessive.
I may be invincible but even I have my limits when it comes to sticking my dick in crazy.
"... Find out more in the next Godzillo vs T-Rex movie, coming to cinemas near you in… Winter? Look, I've already contacted Godzillo's agency for a movie deal so just wait for teaser trailers."
I was so tempted to kill these Quirk-obsessed fuckers the moment they were more hyped over a damn movie involving a hero fighting dinosaurs instead of the fact that I have a goddamn island filled with creatures from the Jurassic Age.
While I wouldn't normally contemplate annihilating the entire human race I decided to start planning ahead and placed 'zombie virus' on top of my list of methods to purge this world.
Wait, that sounds like a really stupid evil plan. I may be what everyone considers a villain, but that doesn't mean I should even contemplate any of the typical dumb plots. Time to do something more productive.
I partitioned my thought processes further to auto-pilot my way through this increasingly annoying press conference while I sorted through yesterday's newly gathered Quirks. Oh ho ho, there seems to be all sorts of Quirks that, while normally useless for my purposes, breaks reality in many tiny ways similar to how Momo's [Creation] Quirk does.
Just what I needed to throw into [Azathoth]!
"Wow, Hadou-san really does know people from Syndrome Agency!"
Mirio Togata was pretty surprised when one of the pro-hero's secretaries came to pick him and Tamaki up from their school the next Monday after U.A.'s entrance exam.
The two of them weren't quite sure about their chances of getting into the prestigious institution, nevertheless, they were still keen on following up on Nejire's offer on extra training under the supervision of a pro-hero she knew on the off-chance they had to prove themselves worthy through the General Education course.
They just didn't think Nejire really did know one of their most famous local heroes in Chiba on a personal basis.
"What should I do… I completely shut down the last time we met!"
Tamaki was stressing out over a past meeting where Syndrome had actually geeked out over their Quirks after resolving a villain attack they got caught up in, then went ahead in sending them lots of tips and his analysis over their Quirks via email a day later.
"You'll be fine! I'm sure he thought you were super cool after you showed off your Quirk. Syndrome is a pretty fun hero, even though he laughs like a supervillain!"
People often compared Syndrome to Endeavor with how effective they both are as a hero, but while the latter was dark, foreboding and downright rude to the public, the former was a friendly, helpful and encouraging type of hero to civilians… while he laughs and mocks villains as if the man were a sadistic supervillain himself.
The hero's reasoning was that he wanted to use the purpose of demoralizing villain monologues and mocking gestures as a force of good by way of deterring villains from repeated villainy. Some detractors hypothesize that he's really venting his 'inner villain' on acceptable targets, but as there was pretty much no controversy attached to his picture perfect career that argument has gone nowhere in particular.
"-AAAAaaaaaah!"
"Did you hear something?"
"Um… there are a couple of guys being tossed into the sky."
Moving closer to Tamaki's seat to look through his side of the car window, Mirio spotted several people being thrown up after being encased in a familiar light blue coat of energy.
"Oh, it's just Syndrome beating up some bad guys."
"That's kinda near his agency office isn't it?"
"I didn't think villains would actually try a head-on attack like that! Kinda dumb if you ask me."
They weren't worried about any villains dropping to their deaths since putting the fear of heights/ 'falling to their doom' is such a standard Syndrome tactic that it even made it into the popular hero fighting games.
Sure enough, they haven't found any blood splatter on the pavement upon arriving at Syndrome's hero office. Most of the villains were already captured under Syndrome's "Zero-Point Energy" Quirk.
"Ha! Didn't think I could get you all while monologuing, did you?! And now, ladies and gentlemen, let me show you just how I juggle my workload!"
The black and white costumed hero with a really crazy hairstyle addressed the applauding citizens as the villains were 'juggled' into special mobile detainment cells wheeled right out of his hero office. The cells closed automatically the moment a villain was tossed in, there were a couple of 'beeps' and 'boops' as various lights on the high tech box began lighting up as if to show that it was working just as intended.
Mirio remembered reading some article about how villain breakouts had decreased substantially once Syndrome and the support company he was in partnership with began rolling out the new 'carbonite' cells. He didn't recall much of the details but some people complained about how 'inhumane' they were for some reason.
"Ahahaha! The hero of Chiba is such a jokester, right Tamaki?"
"C-crowds! It's like a circus out here…!"
"Ooooh, Togata-san! Amajiki-san! Eeeh, are you okay? Oh right, you don't do well with crowds! Let's get you two in real quick, and don't forget to sign the waivers at the entrance."
Their acquaintance from the entrance exam showed up and hurried them both away from the people gathered in front of Syndrome's office and into the door. Some scary looking robots were right at the entrance (much scarier than the ones used in the exam) and said something about scanning them both.
Moments after, the two of them got a visitor's pass printed right out of the robot.
Mirio was kinda expecting a fight after being told to destroy robots a couple of days ago so he found himself pleasantly surprised there were helpful robots like these that wouldn't attempt to kick his ass.
Nejire Hadou didn't appear to have required one of those visitor passes. They figured it was because she was already registered.
"And sign here~"
"Why is there a line about the agency not being responsible for any injuries sustained?"
"Silly Amajiki! Anything that involves physical activities requires waivers like these."
"There's a clause specifically about trauma right here! I didn't sign up for psychological torture!"
"You're already suffering when there are a lot of people around so you should have gotten used to it by now. It's not like you're home-schooled right? You went to a normal junior-high school just like me."
"That's not how it works…!"
Mirio was glad to see that Tamaki was getting along so well with their newest friend.
Nejire said that Syndrome would be a bit busy today so she would be handling the tour for the most part. As for the training session… the best friend duo were unceremoniously pushed into the 'training room'.
"This is the Danger Room. It uses hard-light holographic technology and is stuffed with lots of traps and killer robots too! I'll see you on the other side!"
"Wow, this sounds like some real pro level stuff."
"It is being used by a pro-hero after all…"
"Haaa… haaa… we did it! Plus Ultra! Wooooo!"
"We're not… even students there yet…"
Though I had set the difficulty level extremely low for them I was still pleasantly surprised by their adequate performance. It looks like the two of them had done some serious muscle training in order to push their ordinary bodies that far.
"Well done." I clapped to gain their attention as Nejire prepared some refreshments at my side, "I didn't expect the two of you to get past the second easiest level. That training room has been customized and sold to all sorts of professional institutions across the world you know? So to get through that kind of level in your first try isn't half bad."
"Y-you're… Oh!" Mirio palmed his fist, "You're that playboy my mother always complains about over the dinner table." I'm glad that my rumor mongering ways has paid off.
"You own an island of dinosaurs…!" As expected, Tamaki was focused on the potential new sources of fuel for his Quirk. Guess that press release worked well enough.
"The one and only."
"Enough showing off Peter. Togata-san and Amajiki-san need to rest up and get their injuries checked through."
Nejire and I explained how we knew each other (the sanitized version, of course) for years as we sat them down in the medical scanner while feeding them snacks.
"Woah! Tamaki! You grew wings!"
"What the?!"
"That's dried Pterosaur jerky just for you."
"Peter went ahead and made a meal from one of his dinosaurs after I told him about your Quirk."
"When can I eat a T-Rex?"
I had my 'pro-hero' clone come in a while later in order to deliver some exposition, reaffirm our relationship as business partners (and totally separate people) and then offering the 'promising young men' the usage of the room for training purposes until they moved over to Tokyo for the heroics course. They weren't quite sure on whether they would pass or not but accepted the offer nonetheless.
I portalled them out of the hero office soon after asking for their addresses and making a show out of searching for their home's coordinates.
"They seem to have enjoyed themselves."
Though they will inevitably oppose me neither of them, whether they have [One For All] or not, would be able to stand against my power. As such, there was no danger in setting up a meeting like this.
"That's because the two of them are pretty special, if it were a couple of boring people then they would be whining about all sorts of things!"
Nejire's words rang true with me. The duo adapted quickly and fought through the simulation with relative competency. Normal people would have complained about the danger and tried to escape the room.
"It's a good thing that our plan would filter out most of those."
Tours of hero offices weren't unheard of and I had planned to make use of that by arranging school tours for students that have interests in becoming heroes.
The Mustafar System, I mean uh, Mustafa Private Middle School was on the list of schools that Syndrome Agency had engaged with some time ago, along with many other middle schools within the Chiba Prefecture including the one attended by Itsuka Kendo.
There was an online application form and a 'heroics' questionnaire that needed to be answered that should weed out the unsuitable from joining the tour. Though there will be a couple of inevitable extras within the group, I was certain that I could get Mina and Itsuka in the group.
That will give Nejire and I the chance to meet with them and plant the idea in their heads to get more training from us when Nejire shows off her stuff later on in the school year. Her Sports Festival showing would provide more than enough reason to 'justify' her getting into June's Provisional Hero License Exam, a mere three months worth of schooling before she's legally allowed to join my clone in 'heroic actions'.
I would have arranged the scenario to ensure maximum coverage and credit for Nejire's work, so much so that every female heroine-in-training will aspire to follow in her footsteps. Once she uses the publicity to thank me for being so involved with her training, I can use our initial contact (and sharing of contact information) with students like Itsuka and Mina to 'try their luck' in getting me to assist in their training.
"Don't forget Mei as well!" Nejire leaned forward and wagged her finger in front of me, "This hero agency is seriously advanced compared to everyone else's so you need to make a science based competition sponsored by your partnered support companies too!"
I have a bad habit of forgetting 'unimportant steps' or not bothering to figure out the most convenient way to do things when I can just brute force my way through spamming mental and information based Quirks to reach the same result.
"Thanks for reminding me Nejire. Let's get to it then… ah, we should introduce ourselves to your newest sister first."
"She's ready?!"
Nejire was hopping on the spot in excitement.
"Yeah, I'll take us there right now. The plan is to have your family adopt her at my behest. I already registered her as a U.S. citizen with the help of my contacts, I added 'Shimura' as her middle name while using your family name as her last name. They won't notice it until they check her American identity or until she mentions it to anyone."
I gave Nejire a quick summary of what I've arranged thus far before opening a portal to the research/residence compound I owned in Wyoming.
"Hello there."
"Hyaaaa!"
The girl panicked and lashed out with a kick, one that I didn't deign to block as it harmlessly impacted my side. She definitely hurt her foot on my skin.
"Ow! Fuck!"
"Language young lady."
I remotely healed the thirteen year old clone of Nana Shimura with a glance. The swift cessation of pain triggered her still lingering experiences from her first life as she quickly identified who I was.
"Sorry Peter! I didn't know you were visiting."
She appeared identical to the older heroine, beauty mark and all, just much more youthful and a lot less muscle on her.
I was the first person she saw when she had awoken from the Genesis Chamber, unlike the older clone who had vague impressions of her memories from childhood to her final days, the younger clone barely remembered anything from her life as an adult in return for having more solid memories up to her teenage life.
A curious oddity of the current cloning process.
One that worked in my favor when it came to gaining the trust of this version of Nana. The older one was much more wary as I was clearly extremely shady in my approach, but it won't be long until I have her under my thrall.
"It's a bit of a spontaneous visit, Nana."
I could see that her apartment was messy, it looks like she tried on all the clothes I prepared for her before she settled for a black crop top and matching short shorts. With the technopathy Quirks I've been using to track her computer usage, I can tell that she's been researching the current state of Japan.
"There's someone I would like you to meet."
Nejire introduced herself in a very Nejire manner with a quick introduction followed by a series of rapid-fire questions. The two of them appeared to get along, Nana asked plenty of questions herself with a focus on Japan (it was a very different place decades ago) which Nejire answered easily with facts and her own opinions. Unintentionally bringing Nana in line with how I feel about the current socio-economic state of Japan.
"Hey, hey, you know, I told Peter that I wanted a sister but I completely forgot to ask whether you would be okay with being my sister!"
"Um, that escalated quickly. Sure, I mean, it's not like I have any family left in Japan anyways."
Funny that she should mention that.
Though with most of her family dead and her remaining family (clone excluded) being batshit insane like an edgier Uchiha… it's best that she believes that. I could just clone the rest of her family using the other Shimura DNA samples, but I couldn't be bothered with any of them save for Nana's granddaughter Hana and her daughter-in-law Nao Shimura.
Hmm? Come to think of it, I could try cloning Tenko using his DNA, but stop the aging process before his Quirk develops. It is a rare mutation after all, and I wonder if the same mutation would occur under different environmental factors. It could prove useful to see if clones always get the same Quirk if they were given life before they acquired their Quirks.
"Yay, that's great! I didn't even need to get Peter to brainwash you, which is really convenient."
"Wait what? What was that?!"
"Just forget about it."
After correcting that minor hiccup, I went ahead and arranged Nana 'Shimura' Hadou's move to Nejire's home. They would be able to spend plenty of time together despite Nejire's choice of schooling in U.A. since I would be transporting her to and back from school using portals.
A couple of days had passed since then and I had made progress in my outstanding projects. I timed the successful negotiations just right and signed on several construction companies to start work on various projects for my Jurassic World plan, making sure to do so on a specific date with the owners of a certain construction company.
"Nejire, I 'spoke' with her parents, have you made contact with the target?"
I spoke telepathically to my partner, who responded with good news.
"I see the target eyeing the mochi, just as planned. Permission to engage?"
"Granted."
I portalled to an alleyway near them and watched as Nejire approached the drooling Ochaco that had stopped in front of my newest, modern Mochi shop on the way back from school.
It didn't take Nejire long to pull Ochaco in after saying that she would pay for it. After ensuring that I wasn't needed to 'nudge' her any further, I departed for a nearby restaurant, one of the best Yakiniku restaurants I knew that served great cuts of expensive Matsusaka beef.
The poor girl fainted the moment Nejire confirmed that this was indeed the store where they would be getting dinner together.
