3-In-1 Instant Quirks 10 (My Hero Academia, Villain SI)

Ochako POV

Ochako Uraraka would honestly admit that she considered herself a professional in the art of saving money. She was a master in minimizing her living costs ever since she saw through her parents' kind white lies that were meant to shelter her from the reality of their financial situation.

Ochako didn't just stop at skipping meals to save on food costs. No! She had fully embraced her (hopefully) future school's motto of PLUS ULTRA and had gone so far as to sleep as much as possible (without hurting her grades) so she wouldn't waste energy!

If having more than one Quirk wasn't impossible then would have a [Money Saver] Quirk!

Though with her lucky streak of free, paid-for meals today that didn't involve free food samples or supermarket sales, it would seem as if she was under the effect of a 'good-luck' type of Quirk.

"Hey, hey, what do you think of this piece Ochako-chan? Say aaah!" Nejire Hadou picked off a piece of meat from the grill using her chopsticks and brought it up towards Ochako's drooling mouth.

The cute older girl that treated her to expensive Mochi earlier was now feeding her prime, luxury cuts of beef that were worth more than several weeks of 'normal' meals!

"Mmmmn! It's sho gwood! Ahhh... It's like its melting in my mouth, am I in heaven?"

There was no way that she could reject "Nejire-neechan's" kindness, especially when their dinner was being bankrolled by one of the richest men in Japan!

The handsome muscular westerner looked at her with a kind expression, as if he was remembering something. "Hah...I haven't seen someone react that way to Matsuzaka beef in a long, long time."

"A-ah! I'm sorry for behaving so rudely!"

"Don't apologize Ochako-chan. I never said that it was a bad reaction. It shows that you appreciate the quality and you aren't taking it for granted."

Having been made fun of for coming from a poor household before, Ochako was often conscious of her own reactions to luxury items. She tended to freak out a little whenever her better-off classmates showed off expensive things like the latest phones and stuff. And today? She outright fainted when she stood in front of the restaurant and saw the prices!

Ochako was relieved that they didn't consider her blunt reactions as inappropriate. They seemed like really nice people and she didn't want them to think badly of her. The two people she had just met today were treating her kindly and graciously despite coming from a completely different financial background, a very pleasant surprise and a welcome one!

"I reacted the same way the first time I tried it. Back then, my family and I visited a restaurant like this. My sister and I were shocked that beef could taste and feel this way in our mouths. I always did my best to only take my fair share, yet it was a day of great temptation for me. At the end of dinner, I ended up saying something silly to my family, I think I went... "I'm going to make lots of money just so I can treat you all to this beef every month"! They never let me live it down after that. I got so embarrassed whenever they reminded me about it!"

'This man gets it!' Ochako instantly recognized him as someone that cared deeply for his family, just like her. He may have come from a rich family but it looked like he wanted to support his family and make them proud of him too, just like her!

As Peter continued to speak about his past Ochako caught Nejire looking at him with fondness in her eyes as she rested her head on both her hands. The two of them really were close friends despite being ten years apart! Well, Nejire did say he was like a 'big brother' to her, so it shouldn't be surprising for her to care for him like family.

"Wow! Your family must be super happy for you since you've done so well for yourself!"

The blonde man froze instantly, he looked down at his small plate with a pained expression.

She felt instant regret even before the next words came out of his mouth.

"I wouldn't know about that…"

The words 'I'm sorry' couldn't come fast enough. And by then, Nejire came to the rescue.

Nejire smiled reassuringly in Ochako's direction before focusing on her family friend. The older girl reached over, then placed her hand over one of Peter's and looked him in the eye, "You may never know the answer to that. But hey! You worked hard, did well for yourself and now you have a new family in all of us!"

He stared at Nejire for what felt like a minute but was in reality only a short two seconds, a wide genuine smile formed on his face as he agreed with her, "Yeah, you're right. Silly me. Getting caught up in memories like that… so very human."

"I don't think it's wrong to revisit memories like that. What you look like, what you feel at that moment… those parts of you that remain there even though you keep marching forward… I love those parts of you just as much."

"...! Heh, you always know the right words to say, Nejire. I always loved how you could understand me that way… thank you."

Ochako was feeling really out of place right now. Did she just stumble right into the middle of a romance manga? Or one of those TV dramas her classmates keep talking about?

Was she the side character or third-wheel here? Wait, no, that can't be it. She was here for food and friendship!

As if a switch had been flipped, the two of them quickly composed themselves normally on their respective sides of the table

"Ahem, uh, sorry about that Ochako-chan. I guess I owe you an explanation for that."

"Ah no! I should be apologizing-"

"No, you really shouldn't!"

He ended up explaining about how his family was relatively well-off thanks to their hereditary warping type Quirks but lived rather frugally while keeping most of their wealth hidden. He travelled a lot with his family while he was younger, only to lose his parents and sister around five years ago, discovering the rest of his inheritance, searching for a meaning in life, failing to become an artist, moving to Japan, meeting Nejire on chance and threw himself into the business world starting with her family's cafe business.

Ochako listened patiently and ended up feeling much closer to the unlikely pair after learning so much about them.

Though she felt that he was a little off when talking about his family this time around when compared to back then. She didn't know what else to think other than 'he looked more alive' earlier when he talked about his childhood experiences than when he spoke of his 'family history' later on. It felt like he was talking about two different families.

Something really bad must have happened to them for him to lie about the details just like her parents had done so in order to 'protect' her from the truth.

Their dinner carried on more normally after that. Ochako didn't think she would be staying with them for so long, but they insisted since it was a celebration!

"Oh wow! We ended up completely forgetting about my U.A. entrance exam results! I guess it can't be helped, treating Ochako-chan to decent food was so much fun!"

"I know what you mean. At first I was a bit surprised that you met a new friend and brought them for dinner, but it turned out a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Thanks for going along with Nejire's whims, Ochako-chan."

"I-it's fine! I should be the one thanking you both! You both had been so good to me and I don't even know how to repay you."

"Eeeeh! You really are too cute Ochako-chan! Hey, hey, you don't have to worry about repaying this guy. He has waaaay too much money to spend."

"Yeah, pretty much. I honestly could live with a lot less money but my gamer habits carried over to my business life and I get a kick when my financial numbers rise!"

Ochako found out the real reason why they were celebrating a moment later when Nejire took out a letter from U.A with a hologram ("cheap-ass projector that doesn't use hard-light like my stuff", according to Peter) device inside it!

Her newest friend was going to her dream school!

"-you had completely obliterated the school's entrance exam records with 261 Villain Points. Don't think destroying an entire section of the city will get you a free pass, if it were up to me, I would expel you… Also, there's this thing called Rescue points. You get 45 of those. You pass. Good night." The tired looking man that delivered the results then slipped into a yellow sleeping bag, wriggling within it to make himself comfortable like a demonic caterpillar settling into its cocoon.

Nejire and Peter were totally unsurprised with the result.

Ochako's jaw dropped when she saw the over 200 Point difference between Nejire's first place ranking and the second place point total.

She felt something enter her mouth at that moment.

"Round two!"

The older girl fed her another piece of meat!

"Mnn! Hadou-senpai…"

"It's Nejire-neechan!"

"Um… Nejire-senpai?"

She wasn't particularly comfortable with calling her that yet even though Nejire hadn't meant

"Nejire, you just got a new little sister a week ago, you'll make her sad if you went ahead and recruited another one so soon."

The adult in the room came to her rescue.

"Yeah! Nana might feel sad if I did that, sorry Ochako-chan…"

"It's fine. You're really nice but I'd like to think of you as my senior first!"

"Oh?"

"You got into U.A. with such an overwhelmingly high score! Please teach me your ways!"

The pair looked at each other for a moment before responding to Ochako's request.

"I just studied hard and trained a lot over the past four years. Ooh, but I wouldn't have gotten so strong without Peter's help! He brings me to his private island so that I can train my Quirk without breaking the law. There's loads of professional trainers to train up my skills and high tech equipment to keep me at tip-top shape too. So it's like a super optimal training course!"

"What Nejire forgot to mention is why I decided to help her in the first place. Simply put, she went out of her way to speak with me, treating me as a friend when I was still new to Japan and then inspiring me with her desire to be a hero. After that, well, I decided to do everything in my power to help her."

"W-woah… is that so… that sounds really amazing. Um… maybe just a few tips?"

Now she felt all embarrassed after thinking that she could get as strong as Nejire without putting in that kind of effort. The whole affair sounded unbelievably costly too!

Ochako might not be ashamed of accepting charity on occasion but to even think about receiving that level of support would be the height of entitlement. That kind of training is kinda like what she imagined the super rich to have…

"Why do you want to be a hero?" The billionaire asked her all of a sudden.

"T-that's… for the money."

"Go on. I doubt that's all to it."

Ochako then explained her family's situation in further detail, how her parents still supported her dreams to be a hero and that she would be a hero so that she could take care of them.

"Not bad at all. You could have chosen the safer route by applying to use your Quirk at work in order to help your parents-" Wait, that was a thing? Oh yeah! It was, but back then she had figured that it wouldn't… make her enough money.

Or was that all to it? Back then-

"-You could have earned money safely by using your Quirk in the Aerospace industry among other opportunities. But instead you decided to take the job that puts your life at risk in order to help people along the way. It's hard to forget your original dream, huh?"

-and even now, she still wanted to be a hero.

"In another life, perhaps, I would have walked a similar path… but it's too late for that." The man's mood turned somber for a few seconds, until he smiled at her, it looked like he was pleased with her answer. "But it's not too late for you."

Nejire was rocking back and forth slightly in her seat.

"Ooooh! So Ochako-chan can go through your training then?"

"A less intensive one, yes. She's slightly malnourished, although that can be easily resolved, it still sets her back a bit on optimizing her physique and Quirk training. She only has a little less than two more years for the entrance exams so I can't make her an All Might-tier hero but we can still settle for the Top Five."

He sounded so sure of himself when he said that he could make her a top hero. Yet for some reason, Ochako found herself believing in his words.

"What Peter means to say is that you'll be a great hero Ochako-chan!"

"Nejire-senpai…"

Hearing such words coming from her new kind and strong friend touched her...

"Hey, I was getting to that!"

"But you were taking so long…"

"Well I apologize that I suck at epic build up… it's no wonder I can never make it as a supervillain."

Ochako just had her emotional moment destroyed by their antics. Wait… could it be… could she be stuck in a romcom?! Age-gap romance! She thought it would be kinda creepy in real life but the two of them get along so well with each other.

They enjoyed the remainder of their dinner, Peter had given her plenty of instructions to follow and more information to keep in mind. She gave him her home address so that he could use his [Portal] Quirk to send her home, she wasn't looking forward to explaining to her parents on why she was coming home so late.

"Oh? Well, I thought your last name was a bit familiar, I was at your home earlier in the day."

"EHHHHH!?"

"I needed a couple of local contractors for various construction projects. The big ones are working on Isle Nublar, my dinosaur island, directly while I have a couple of smaller ones building supporting facilities on the other side of mainland Japan. I didn't know who to pick, so I trusted my gut and pulled out local company names from a really big hat. Your parents somehow ended up on my list."

"Seriously?!"

Ochako ended up repeating herself when her parents confirmed that. What a small world!

Her parents really seemed to trust and like Peter too! She wasn't scolded for staying out so late without telling them the moment Peter began explaining what happened. In fact, they even seemed proud of her!

They were really supportive of her and agreed immediately to Peter's plans for after-school training.

"Wait a minute! Why are we at a restaurant half-way across the world!?"

"Silly Ochako-chan… did you really think you could train until you drop on an empty stomach. I learnt about that bad habit from your parents, for your information."

"They knew?!"

She had followed the instructions sent to her phone and walked right through the portal opened for her the next Monday after school hours.

And now she was sitting in a fancy restaurant… in India!

"Normally I'm more of the Southern Indian food kind of guy but you Japanese people have a different definition of curry so I'm starting you off slowly with something less spicy."

Her first days of 'training' consisted of getting used to Peter's seemingly random activities to test her Quirk's limits.

"M-must I wear something like this…? It's a little short."

He had 'suggested' that she wore a maid uniform for this particular test. Ochako felt that it was really cute and was happy to try it on, only for it to turn out a lot shorter than expected.

"You're gonna have to clean up the inevitable mess resulting from broken home deco so you may as well look the part."

His way of testing how many items she could affect with her Quirk at once involved floating up all his expensive tea cups, vases, tables and art pieces!

"No way! I'll die! I'll die of shock if I break things worth more than 10,000 Yen!"

"You will be working with even more expensive pieces of equipment later on so it's best to desensitize to breaking costly stuff. Now then, you may start off with my diamond encrusted glass plate-"

"DIAMOND!?"

She nearly fainted and dropped the first piece of tableware before the exercise even began.

"Hmm, maybe I need a different way to motivate you… I know! Let's play a game!"

"A game?"

"Yeah! How about this… I'll give you a 100 Million Yen."

has stopped working.

Rebooting…

She felt two hands pressed against her cheeks all of a sudden… she blinked, his way was only a few centimeters apart from her own!

"Kyaaaa!"

She screamed!

"Hey you, you're finally awake." Peter looked like he wanted to say more only to think the better of it, and moved on as if that embarrassing moment hadn't just happened. "So the game is played like this, you have 100 Million Yen to start with, if you break any of these items then their value is deducted from your total. You get to keep whatever amount you have left of that 100 Million at the end of this test."

"Let's gooooooo!"

"I'll also be throwing stuff at you which you will have to catch in order to push your limits and test your reflexes."

"Is it too late to ask what would happen if that number goes negative?"

He threw a teapot at her to her left, forcing her to dive at it like a goalie in football!

She was left with only 25,000 yen at the end of the first test.

"Wow, my living room sure is messy now, if only I had a maid to clean my home up. Ah, what would I do, what would I pay for someone to clean up this mess~"

He laid a huge stack of 10,000 yen bills on the coach.

Ochako searched every nook and cranny for the tiniest broken piece.

When she was done with cleaning, he opened a portal to allow two disguised men to enter the living room, where they activated their Quirks in order to fix everything that had been broken!

Wow! They must be making lots of money with Quirks like that. She never saw a Quirk that repaired items so perfectly and so quickly before!

They went back through the same portal once their work was complete. After that, Peter sat her down on the coach and skimmed a handful of notes from the stack, then handed it over to her.

"I never held so much money in my life!"

She was spreading the 10,000 yen notes in her hands… then positioned it against the light just to make sure it was real. She wasn't surprised to find out that it was 100% Authentic, as expected of the super rich!

"Hahaha, well, I didn't think I would be pleasantly surprised again."

"Huh? What for?"

"I thought you would have looked at the rest of the money and question why you didn't get all the money."

"But there's no way that little bit of cleaning can be worth that much money right?"

Peter just stared at her in disbelief, then suddenly broke out laughing! She didn't know what to say so she waited until he calmed down.

"... You really are too cute Ochako-chan."

"H-huh? W-why did you say that…"

Why did hearing him call her cute make her so happy?!

"I didn't expect you to just be happy with what you got, especially after I falsely insinuated that you might be given all of this money."

"Eh? That was a trick?!"

"Not a trick… It was a logical ruse."

"But that's just lying!"

He smirked and told her that she was going to 'love' U.A.'s Heroics Course.

"By the way, what do you think about doing a bit of part-time work for me?"

"What kind of work?"

"The type of work you are expected to do in uniform. I would be happy to pay you if you help me out with the laundry and cleaning up here, that is, on those rest days where we aren't training."

Ochako considered the offer for a moment, seeing as her parents were now working on Peter's projects on the other side of Japan and had refused to 'take advantage' of their clients' (aka Peter) kind offer to commute back to their home in Mie using his portals… she didn't have anything better to do on weekends.

"I'll do my best!"

"I know you will. Now then, you will start by calling me 'Master' or 'Goshujin-sama'."

She didn't quite expect her part-time job to be that embarrassing! Still… the money is good…

"Anyways, here's the laundry pile-"

"-Wait, are those panties?"

"Yeah, they're Ryuko-chan's. You know, Pixie-Bob's."

The money is good. The money is good. The money is good.

Ochako was taken to the island a week later where the professionals and state-of-the-art training facility was there as expected. It took awhile to get used to the place but being able to use her Quirk freely felt really good!

"Ochako-chan! I got us tickets to watch Nejire's first sports festival!"

"Oooh! Those are VIP seats! Ah, but um, it's still a school day. It's not like we're allowed to skip school just to watch the U.A. Sports Festival."

"... That's a shame."

A few weeks later, Ochako found her school being cordoned off by police officers and people in hazard suits!

"W-what happened?!"

She got some answers from the school principal standing outside the perimeter around the school. From his announcement, it looked like there was a big villain fight which ended up destroying the school. The school buildings were melted down by hot plasma and the school grounds were left with deadly radiation!

"Ochako-chan! I just saw the news on TV, are you safe, are you alright!?" Peter called her on the phone moments after the principal announced that school was cancelled for the week until they could find a replacement facility.

"I'm alright! The police said the radiation is contained and no one got hurt!" She quickly reassured him after hearing how worried he was.

Ochako explained that school was effectively cancelled until further notice.

"Well… that's a shame. Worse comes to worst, I'll just enroll you in a private school or get you home-schooled so that you can test out and focus on your training. Anyways… since classes are cancelled… how about we go watch the Sports Festival?"

She felt there was something familiar about his tone but it was probably nothing.

"Oh right, we can watch it live together now! Let's go support Nejire together!"

"I'll get the banners."
