A/N: Another chapter. XD. Please enjoy!
Carry on wayward supernatural fans, and happy patrol shadowhunters.
As Dean stepped out of Magnus's apartment building, he pulled out his phone, calling Cas. The conversation was brief, but it only added to his already growing confusion and frustration. Cas and Jack were still in the Men of Letters bunker, proving that he and his brother weren't the only ones that went through the portal. Then what happened, then? Dean knows that they drove right through that portal. No, that wasn't true. Thinking back, the portal surrounded them. What is going on?
He turned back to the apartment building, considering going back inside and getting some damn answers. But he had seen Magnus's eyes. It was brief, but he knew that he had seen them; they were gold, like cat eyes. His hunter instincts were telling him not to trust Magnus, yet they needed to figure out what was going on.
Instead of heading back inside the building, he waited in his car for Sam. The mix of Dean's confusion, frustration, and suspicion created a tension-filled atmosphere, like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. It was a classic Winchester dilemma: torn between the need for answers and the gut feeling that something was seriously off. It seemed like the calm before the storm, with Dean's emotions swirling in a whirlwind of uncertainty. And as he sat in the car, waiting for Sam, the air crackled with anticipation, as if the very universe was holding its breath, awaiting the next twist in the unfolding mystery.
"I would absolutely love to know what you Winchesters have done now," Crowley said, suddenly appearing in the passenger seat, making Dean practically jump out of his skin.
"Damn it, Crowley!"
"So tell me, how did you and Moose break the world this time?" the King of Hell inquired, his usual snark and sarcasm in each word.
"What?" Dean frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"Things in hell have shifted. Demons that weren't there before are now demanding order. I apparently am no longer king! So, what the bloody hell did you do!?"
"Why the hell are you blaming us!?"
"Because usually it's you and your meddling brother that is usually behind something like this!"
"Whoa, not us. Me and Sam were on the trail of a coven of witches. Don't blame us." Then something finally clicked. This is why he hated witches. Just like Winchester luck, they were once again caught in the middle of a supernatural mess.
Having tea with Magnus turns out to be just the therapy Andra needed. Because, you know, nothing says "relaxation" like sipping tea with a centuries-old warlock who knows all the gossip in the Shadow World. After exchanging pleasantries with Sam, who probably went off to have a deep and meaningful brooding session with his brother, Andra returned to the institute only to find everyone in a mild panic. Just another day in the thrilling life of a Shadowhunter, right?
When she inquired about the commotion, poor newbie Kael looked like he'd rather face a horde of demons than explain the situation to Andra. "There is sudden demon activity. Jace wants us in the briefing room," he stammered, probably realizing that delivering bad news to Andra is like walking into a nest of angry vampires without protection.
As Andra followed Kael to the meeting, her mind raced with all the cheerful possibilities of sudden demon activity. Because who wouldn't want to deal with unexpected demon shenanigans on a Monday, right?
In the briefing room, she found her parabatai, Addy, flashing a smirk that screamed, "I know something you don't." Because, of course, in the midst of potential demonic chaos, there's always time for some good old-fashioned teasing.
"Where did you go off to?" Addy teased, her eyes twinkling with the delight of holding a secret over Andra's head.
"I'll tell you later," Andra replied, mentally adding it to the long list of things to discuss after the demon situation was hopefully resolved.
Ah, the glamorous life of a Shadowhunter. What more could a girl ask for?
As the meeting kicked off, Andra's attention zeroed in on the map, where the locations of the demons activity were ominously marked. Just another day in the life of a Shadowhunter, right? Nothing like a map full of demon hotspots to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
And then, like a dramatic entrance in a badly scripted play, Jace strolled into the room. Her eyes snapped up as she processed his words. Los Angeles too? At the same time? Because, you know, demons just love synchronizing their vacation plans with each other. It was obviously no coincidence. Just another day in the thrilling world of demonic tourism, apparently.
The coincidence of a strange portal opening by an unknown warlock and the sudden demon activity in New York and Los Angeles, along with the unexpected appearance of two hunters, one decent and the other with a slap-worthy aura, does seem like quite the plot twist in the grand drama of Shadowhunter life. And let's not forget, there might have been other places affected too, because why limit the chaos to just two major cities, right?
But hey, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned coincidence, especially when it involves mysterious warlocks, demon activity, and the sudden appearance of hunters? It's like the universe decided to throw a surprise party and invited all the supernatural beings to join in the fun. Because what's more thrilling than dealing with unexpected demon shenanigans and a side of mysterious warlock portals?
And let's not forget the hunters, one of whom is apparently decent and the other... well, let's just say Andra had plans for a smack. Because nothing spices up a demon crisis like a bit of hunter drama, right?
So, to sum it up, it's just another day in the thrilling life of a Shadowhunter, where strange coincidences and unexpected guests are all part of the package. Who knows, maybe there's a whole list of other places affected by this delightful turn of events. After all, when it rains demons, it pours demons, right?
"Jace," she interjected once he had finished his dire pronouncement. "Are you sure that it's just New York and Los Angeles? I mean, it's not like demons have a strict itinerary, right?"
"It's all over the world," Alec chimed in as he strolled into the room, bringing the cheerful news of global demon festivities.
Andra's frown deepened as she contemplated the worldwide demon extravaganza. She decided to spill the tea about the strange portal she felt, and the unexpected visit from Sam and Dean. Because, you know, what's a demon crisis without a dash of mysterious warlock portals and some charming hunters dropping by unannounced?
Izzy's frown mirrored Andra's concern. "Hunters?" she echoed.
"That's what they said they were," Andra confirmed, mentally preparing herself for the inevitable questions about the Winchesters' rugged good looks.
"Are they handsome?" Addy smirked mischievously, of course unable to resist the opportunity to inject some humor into the chaos, smirking mischievously as if the fate of the world was a mere afterthought.
Andra snorted, rolling her eyes. "That's not even important right now. We have a global demon crisis on our hands, Addy!"
"I beg to differ," Addy retorted, clearly not willing to let the potential eye candy go unnoticed in the midst of impending doom. "Who says you can't battle demons and appreciate a handsome hunter at the same time, right? Whatever a hunter is."
Ignoring her parabatai, she looked at Jace. "I'm not sure if they have anything to do with this though."
"What makes you say that?"
"Because they don't seem like liars. At least not about who they are and what they do. They were actually pretty reluctant to tell me." Andra smirked. "But I can be persuasive."
Clary giggled. "We know you can."
"Alright," Jace said, and started issuing out orders.
...
Andra and Addy were gearing up for the impending demon showdown. Andra couldn't help but smile as she glanced at her matching daggers, a thoughtful gift from Magnus himself a long time ago before a battle. The warlock had even worked his magic on them, making them as deadly as they were elegant. She adored the daggers like they were her own flesh and blood, ready to plunge into the heart of any demon foolish enough to cross her path. Her smile faltered slightly, remembering what happened after he had gifted her these daggers. Alec kissed Magnus right there In front of everyone. And her little brother... Pushing away those memories and the feelings and the grief that they brought, she refocused.
As they prepared, the glint of steel and the crackle of energy filled the air, a stark contrast to the impending danger lurking outside. Because nothing says "demonic confrontation" like a pair of beautifully crafted, magically enhanced daggers, right?
Addy's hand rested on her shoulder, and Andra looked at her parabatai, her sister, her best friend. The weight of unspoken words hung heavy in the air between them. Andra knew that she didn't have to say a word, not with Addy. She had taken the death of her little brother especially hard, she still blamed herself. If she hadn't insisted on accompanying them, she could have saved Max. It was a burden that clung to her like a stubborn shadow.
Addy, with her kind blue eyes and curly brown hair, smiled, silently asking if Andra was finally ready to talk about it out loud. Andra shook her head, and that was the end of it. Some things were just too tangled to unravel, at least for now.
As they headed out to deal with the demons, or at least to see what's going on, Andra couldn't help but quip, "Well, if the demons are as messy as my thoughts, we're in for quite a show." Addy chuckled softly, the tension easing just a fraction, as if Andra's humor had pierced through the heavy clouds that surrounded them. It was a fleeting moment of lightness in the midst of darkness, but it was enough to carry them forward into the unknown.
Out on the streets, everything was unsettlingly normal. Andra and Addy scanned every area, but there was no sign of the demons. It was confusing. She glanced over at Addy, who shrugged.
"Maybe they decided that their vacation spots weren't worth it?" Addy smirked mischievously.
Andra snorted. "Doubt it."
They turned a corner, and Andra nearly ran right into the Winchester brothers. Oh, just what she needed, somewhat mister nice and the dick. Addy let out a whistle as her eyes roamed over the handsome, rugged men, fanning herself. Dean's lips twitched into a slight, almost shy smile, as Sam rolled his eyes. The tension in the air was palpable, like two opposing forces meeting in the middle of a storm. Addy's shameless appreciation for the Winchesters made Andra roll her eyes and mutter, "Can we focus, please, Addy?"
"I'll try. But holy damn." Addy said.
"Um.. sorry.. you are?" Dean grinned, making Addy smile. Both Andra and Sam cleared their throats, making Addy roll her eyes playfully and Dean seeming to remember now wasn't the time. "Hey, Cupcake -"
"The names Andra, you -" She glared at Dean.
"- we need to talk to your friend again."
Addy snorted as Andra crossed her arms. "And who would that be?" Her parabatai asked.
"Magnus Bane." Sam replied.
"Yeah, okay. Listen here tall and handsome," Addy grinned at Sam's uncomfortable posture at her comment and Dean's raised eyebrow. "my parabatai Is fiercely protective of Magnus, just like Alec is. Trust me you don't want to fuck with Magnus and piss Andra and Alec off. And for some reason she is super pissed at you," She pointed at Dean, the man actually having the nerve to look confused. "One or two things could have happened. You try to touch her daggers, or you were rude or disrespectful to Magnus." She glanced over at Andra. Andra huffed, nodding. "Ah, so you are rude and disrespectful to Magnus."
"Look," Dean said, stepping towards them. "It's urgent."
"He's not going to help you." Did Andra have to spell it out for this idiot?
"Why?" Sam frowned.
Andra rolled her eyes as Addy snorted and said, "Magnus doesn't do disrespect. But he's used to staring. He just doesn't like it. And I'm assuming there was some disrespect and staring involved." Andra nodded again, and Addy pursed her lips. "Apparently there was a lot of disrespecting and staring involved."
Sam gave Dean a glare, Dean rolled his eyes, his lips parting. A low, guttural growl reverberated through the air cutting him off, causing Andra and Addy to tense. Sam and Dean exchange a glance, pulling out guns. If what she thought Was coming towards them is what she thought it was, guns won't work. Its malevolent aura seemed to permeate the very air, casting an oppressive weight on her shoulders. Steadying her grip on her seraph blade, she steeled herself for the encounter, Addy taking a position close to her.
Suddenly, a chilling howl pierced the silence, sending a wave of dread coursing through Andra's veins. The street ahead was engulfed in an otherworldly glow, casting eerie shadows that danced along the walls. And there, emerging from the ethereal mists, was a Ravener Demon.
"Oh fuck." Addy hissed.
"Shit!" Andra exclaimed. Sam and Dean begin to raise their guns. "Guns won't work you morons!"
Its form was a grotesque amalgamation of nightmarish proportions. Towering over them, the demon's hulking frame was adorned with jagged, obsidian-like scales that seemed to writhe and shift with an unsettling sentience. Its eyes burned with a malevolent, crimson light, fixated on them with an unyielding malice.
The demon's elongated claws, sharp as razors and glistening with an otherworldly sheen, scraped against the stone floor, leaving deep gouges in their wake. Each sinewy muscle rippled beneath its ashen, leathery hide, exuding an aura of primal power and malevolence that seemed to suffocate the very air around it.
As the Ravener Demon let out another bone-chilling roar, Andra could feel the weight of its presence bearing down on her, threatening to overwhelm her with its sheer, unbridled ferocity. With a steely resolve, she raised her seraph blade, the glow of its celestial light casting a defiant gleam amidst the encroaching darkness.
