Episode 330: Sora vs Harrison
After the battle between Brendan and Wally, Nora approached Wally. Noticing her, he blushes in a shade close to Nora's dress.
"Hi, Nora," Wally greeted while blushing. "I take it that you watched me out there."
"I did. I'm sorry that you didn't win your match, Wally," Nora said.
"Don't be sorry, Nora. I had fun battling Brendan. In fact, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him and the others," Wally said.
"Really? What do you mean?" Nora asked.
"When I first met Brendan, I was going to stay with my aunt and uncle in Verdanturf Town, but I thought of having my own Pokémon to keep me company along the way, so I asked May's dad who happens to be Petalburg City's Gym Leader that I could borrow one of his Pokémon just so I could catch my own, and that's when..." Wally paused.
"That was when you met your Gallade when he was a Ralts, right?" Nora asked, finishing Wally's sentence.
"Yeah," Wally answered. "After a while, the two of us traveled around and I caught some more of my own Pokémon. Also, my Ralts eventually evolved into a Kirlia, and then I used a Dawn Stone to have Kirlia evolve into a Gallade. Everything I've been through was all thanks to Brendan... But not only him, but May, Sora, Kairi, Leaf, Ash, Kris, Lyra, and Ethan, too."
"If it's okay with you, I would like to accompany you to the Pokémon Center just so you can rest them up," Nora said.
"I'd like that," Wally said.
With that said, Wally and Nora started to walk down towards the Pokémon Center. Wally wanted to hold her hand, but he didn't want to risk being too forward, but Nora takes him by the hand. Wally looked at Nora and she was smiling at him. Wally smiled back and they kept walking.
Blake was listening on their little conversation and he chuckled.
"Yeah, Nora's in love with the guy. You better make her cry, Wally, or else you'd have me to deal with," Blake said in his thoughts.
Later, Tyson has his battle, using his Meowth against a Heracross, using Iron Tail. The last battle of the day was about to begin as Sora and Harrison took their places on the battlefield. Sora looked at Pikachu and he has Octillery, Medicham, Slaking, Ludicolo, and Manectric to use.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have come to today's final match, and only one of these two young Trainers will be making it as one of the final eight! On the left is Harrison from Littleroot Town! And on the right, we have Sora from Pallet Town! Now, let's get the selection underway!" The announcer announced as the battlefield was selected the Grass Field. "And both Trainers will be battling on the Grass Field!" Harrison took out his first Pokéball and threw it.
"Kecleon! Go!" Harrison called out. His Kecleon came out to battle. Sora turned to Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu, you're first," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. He entered the battlefield.
"Harrison is starting out with a Kecleon while Sora has selected Pikachu as his first!" The announcer announced.
"Begin the battle!" The referee called out.
"Okay, Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu rushes at Kecleon with Quick Attack.
"Kecleon! Use Camouflage!" Harrison ordered. Kecleon turns invisible to avoid Pikachu's Quick Attack and blend in the grass with its stomach marking is showing.
"Kecleon uses Camouflage to dodge Pikachu's attack!" The announcer announced.
"That's a good way to avoid a frontal attack," May said.
"Yeah, but Camouflage normally changes its types depending on its current enviroment," Max said.
"So, since they're on a grass battlefield, Kecleon would become a Grass-type Pokémon," Naminé said.
"Kecleon isn't invisible all the way," Ethan said, looking at the pattern.
"The one thing Kecleon can't hide," Riku said.
"Kecleon hasn't moved yet! Use another Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu rushes at Kecleon again, but it quickly ran into the grass to hide.
"Kecleon's hiding in the grass?" May asked.
"And it fast, too," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Speed while invisible is going to be a challenge for Sora, that's for sure," Rei said. Kecleon keeps on moving around in the grass, making it more difficult for Pikachu.
"Kecleon is moving too fast to be seen! Try listening for it and you'll find it!" Sora said. Pikachu shuts his eyes and listens for Kecleon's movements. Once Pikachu knew where Kecleon was, Pikachu moves in.
"Kecleon! Use Lick!" Harrison ordered. Kecleon extends its tongue and licked Pikachu on the cheek.
"Pikachu gets a direct hit with a lick!" The announcer announced.
"Kecleon! Throw Pikachu!" Harrison shouted. Kecleon uses its tongue to grab Pikachu and gave the Mouse Pokémon a toss. Pikachu lands on the ground. Kecleon keeps running around Pikachu in the grass.
"Kecleon has been able to combine its special ability in the Grass Field to overwhelm Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Stay on your toes! Kecleon could come out from anywhere!" Sora called out.
"Kecleon! Use Psybeam!" Harrison ordered. Kecleon fired Psybeam from the grass and sends it at the Mouse Pokémon. He managed to dodge it, but he narrowly avoids it when the ground beneath him explodes.
"Pikachu narrowly escapes that Psybeam, but took some damage from the force of the shock wave!" The announcer announced.
"Kecleon! Use Lick!" Harrison ordered. Kecleon sends its tongue at Pikachu.
"In the grass, Pikachu! Hurry!" Sora called out. Pikachu jumped in the grass to avoid Kecleon's Lick.
"You think two can play this game, Sora? Think again! Kecleon! Use Lick again, but use your tongue to cut the grass and find Pikachu!" Harrison ordered. Kecleon dropped its invisibility and uses its tongue to cut the grass, while spinning around. The grass was mowed, making everyone watching gasp in surprise.
"Incredible! Kecleon's tongue cuts that grass like a lawn mower, but it stopped moving!" The announcer announced. Harrison saw Pikachu holding Kecleon by the tongue.
"No way!" Harrison exclaimed.
"Huh, Pikachu got your tongue, Kecleon?" Sora joked. The spectators all laughed at the joke.
"Pikachu has Kecleon by the tongue, and Kecleon appears to be immobilized!" The announcer announced.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Kecleon quite a shock, knocking the Color Swap Pokémon out.
"Kecleon is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Kecleon had just tasted defeat! Kecleon's ability was making it a difficult battle for Pikachu, but its Thunderbolt was just the thing to give Sora the first victory in this round!" The announcer announced as Harrison calls his Kecleon back.
"That was a great job, Kecleon. You deserve a nice, long rest," Harrison said.
"Pikachu, why don't you take five for right now? I might need you later," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said, returning to Sora's side.
"Okay, here's my next Pokémon, Sora," Harrison said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Sneasel!" His Pokéball opened and his Sneasel emerged from inside to battle. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Ludicolo! You're up!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Ludicolo emerged from inside and starts dancing upon appearing.
"Sora's second Pokémon is his Ludicolo as Harrison's second Pokémon is his Sneasel!" The announcer announced.
"Ludicolo! Use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Ludicolo fires Razor Leaf at Sneasel while dancing.
"Dodge and use Metal Claw!" Harrison ordered. Sneasel dodges Ludicolo's Razor Leaf and ran right at Ludicolo, but before before Sneasel could land a hit, Ludicolo grabbed the Sharp Claw Pokémon by the claws and begins to dance.
"Look at that, ladies and gentlemen, it seems that Ludicolo is dancing with its opponent!" The announcer announced. Everyone started laughing at how Ludicolo was dancing with Sneasel. Ludicolo gives Sneasel a twirl, making it spin around like a top. "It Ludicolo is spinning Sneasel around!"
"Okay, Ludicolo, enough with the dancing, and use Ice Punch!" Sora ordered. Ludicolo gave Sneasel an Ice Punch. "Now, use Hydro Pump!" Ludicolo fires Hydro Pump, sending Sneasel backwards, landing on its stomach.
"Sneasel is unable to battle! Ludicolo wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Ludicolo! Sweet moves!" Sora said. Ludicolo keeps on dancing.
"The crowd sure loves Ludicolo's victory dance! Keep on dancing!" The announcer announced. Harrison calls back his Sneasel and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Hypno!" Harrison called out. His Pokéball opened and his Hypno came out to battle.
"Harrison's third Pokémon is a Hypno!" The announcer announced.
"Ludicolo! Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Ludicolo fires Hydro Pump at the Hypnosis Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Hypnosis!" Harrison ordered. Hypno avoids Ludicolo's Hydro Pump and swings its pendulum, hypnotizing the Carefree Pokémon. Ludicolo then falls asleep.
"Hypno's Hypnosis has Ludicolo under its spell! No more dancing from Ludicolo!" The announcer announced.
"Use Nightmare!" Harrison ordered. Hypno's eyes gave off a red glow as Ludicolo is surrounded by a red aura. Ludicolo then takes damage from the nightmare he's having.
"Nightmare?" May asked.
"Oh, that's a move that gives a Pokémon some damage while asleep," Leaf said.
"And it's a very scary move," Kris said.
"Use Psychic!" Harrison ordered. Hypno uses Psychic on Ludicolo, sending him flying. Hypno has knocked out Ludicolo.
"Ludicolo is unable to battle! Hypno wins!" The referee announced.
"Hypno has defeated Ludicolo without taking any damage at all!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back his Ludicolo and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Slaking! You're up next!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Slaking came out. Slaking was sound asleep.
"Sora's third Pokémon is his Slaking, but it appears to be asleep!" The announcer announced.
"And I thought Snorlax were heavy sleepers," Ash said.
"Well, good news is, Slaking is safe from Hypnosis," May said.
"But the bad news is, Slaking is opened for Nightmare," Ethan said.
"Use Dream Eater!" Harrison ordered. Hypno extends its hand and begins to absorb some of Slaking's energy.
"Hypno is really draining a lot of energy from Slaking!" The announcer announced.
"Slaking, wake up!" Sora called out. Slaking wakes up with an angered look on his face. Hypno flinched, feeling scared of Slaking's angry face.
"Oh, Slaking looks like it's in a very angry mood," Elsie said, nervously.
"Well, Slaking was sleeping peacefully, but ends up being attacked while sleeping. Just about anyone would get in a foul mood when rudely woken up," Ben said.
"Slaking! Hyper Beam!" Sora ordered. Slaking fired Hyper Beam, hitting the Hypnosis Pokémon on the mark, taking heavy damage. Hypno was knocked out.
"Hypno is unable to battle! Slaking wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Slaking!" Sora exclaimed.
"Slaking!" Slaking said, pounding his chest.
"That was good, but I'll be better," Harrison said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, with three of Harrison's Pokémon now unable to battle, we'll be taking a fifteen minute break to change battlefields!" The announcer announced.
Sora made it to the locker room and Karen hands her brother a water bottle.
"That was some awesome battling out there, big brother," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"What did you expect, Karen? He's the best there is," Ventus said.
"Pikachu!" Sparky added
"Now, Ven, don't get too carried away. He just gotta win this battle first," Roxas said.
"Pika," Xipak nodded.
"He's right, Ven. Harrison is tough and smart, so I know he's going to throw everything he's got at me, so I gotta be ready for that," Sora said.
"Like that Blaziken he has?" Xion asked.
"Eevee?" Celeste asked.
"I have a feeling he's saving Blaziken for last, so I wanna be ready for that," Sora said.
"Yeah, his Blaziken is strong. But we'll be rooting for you extra hard, Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel nodded.
"I know you will," Sora said. He turned to his partner. "So how about we go back out and give it everything we got once the new battlefield is up."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Fifteen minutes were up as Sora and Harrison re-entered the battlefield. They were battling on the Ice Field this time.
"To those who are just joining in from all around, we are now returning to our battle where Sora is currently leading with five Pokémon remaining while Harrison still has three at his disposal!" The announcer announced. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Octillery! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Octillery came out to battle. Harrison took out his own Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Steelix!" Harrison called out. His Pokéball opened and his Steelix emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is his Octillery while Harrison has sent out Steelix!" The announcer announced.
"Steelix! Use Crunch!" Harrison ordered. Steelix came down to crunch on the Jet Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Octillery slides to avoid Steelix's Crunch and fired Bubble Beam.
"Use Iron Tail to block it!" Harrison ordered. Steelix uses Iron Tail to block Octillery's Bubble Beam.
"Steelix uses Iron Tail to defend itself from Octillery's Bubble Beam!" The announcer announced.
"Not bad, Harrison. That was a great block, but it's not over yet! Octillery! Octazooka!" Sora ordered. Octillery fires his Octazooka at the Iron Snake Pokémon.
"Use Dig!" Harrison ordered. Steelix digs underground to avoid Octillery's Octazooka. The attack missed its target when Steelix has succeeded in dodging.
"Stay alert, Octillery. Steelix will come out from anywhere," Sora said. Steelix emerged from underneath Octillery. The octopus-like Pokémon grabs one of the ice pillars with his tentacles.
"That would have been ugly if Octillery didn't catch that piece of ice in time! Steelix really has the odds in its favor despite being weak against Water-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Octillery! Use Aurora Beam!" Sora ordered. Octillery fired Aurora Beam at Steelix.
"Use Flash Cannon, Steelix!" Harrison ordered. Steelix fired Flash Cannon, blocking Octillery's Aurora Beam, resulting in an explosion.
Octillery! Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Octillery fires Ice Beam at Steelix.
"Use Bind!" Harrison ordered. Steelix grabs Octillery and squeezes tightly.
"Try to get loose!" Sora called out. Octillery tries his best to break free of Steelix's Bind, but its hold was too strong.
"Steelix is really putting the squeeze on Octillery, and it's not letting go!" The announcer announced.
"Use Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Octillery tried to fire Bubble Beam, but Octillery was still being squeezed.
"Good job, Steelix! Throw Octillery!" Harrison ordered. Steelix tosses Octillery, knocking him out.
"Octillery is unable to battle! Steelix wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, Sora has four Pokémon left at his disposal! Let's see if his next one will make all the difference!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back his Octillery and smiled.
"You did your best, Octillery. You softened Steelix up like I wanted you to," Sora said, smiling. He took out Slaking's Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Slaking! Back to action!" Slaking's Pokéball opened and Slaking emerged from inside, ready to battle again.
"Slaking is sent back out, but it looks very interested in battling unlike its battle against Hypno!" The announcer announced.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Sora ordered.
"Bind again, Steelix!" Harrison ordered. Steelix wraps around Slaking's body like with Octillery before Slaking could use Hyper Beam.
"Slaking!" Sora exclaimed.
"Use Crunch!" Harrison ordered. Steelix leans in to land a Crunch on Slaking.
"Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Slaking lands a Power-Up Punch onto Steelix, dealing some heavy damage.
"That's a direct hit! And Slaking's attack power increases from every use!" The announcer announced.
"Hyper Beam!" Sora ordered. Slaking fires Hyper Beam, hitting the Iron Snake Pokémon on the mark.
"The power of steel is dropping!" The announcer announced.
"Steelix! No!" Harrison exclaimed. Steelix was knocked out from Slaking's two attacks.
"Steelix is unable to battle! Slaking wins!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Slaking! That was awesome!" Sora praised.
"Slaking, Sla!" Slaking said.
"Not too shabby, Sora. Let's see how you like my next one," Harrison said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Houndoom!" His Pokéball opened and his Houndoom came out to battle.
"Okay, Slaking! Use Power-Up!" Sora ordered. Slaking rushes at Houndoom with a Power-Up Punch.
"Counter!" Harrison ordered. Houndoom's body became surrounded in an orange aura and Slaking's Power-Up Punch backfires and deals double the damage to the Lazy Pokémon.
"Houndoom manages throw Slaking's Power-Up Punch right back it!" The announcer announced. Slaking was knocked out.
"Slaking is unable to battle! Houndoom wins!" The referee announced.
"Houndoom defeats Slaking by using Counter on Slaking! Now, Sora has three Pokémon remaining while Harrison has two!" The announcer announced. Sora calls his Slaking back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Manectric!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Manectric came out to battle.
"Now, Sora has sent out Manectric to deal with Harrison's Houndoom!" The announcer announced.
"That Manectric looks like a toughie. I'm curious to see what his Manectric can do," Harrison said.
"Manectric! Shock Wave!" Sora ordered. Manectric unleashed Shock Wave and it lands a hit onto Houndoom. "Quick Attack!" Manectric ran around the battlefield.
"No, you don't! Houndoom! Use Counter!" Harrison ordered. Sora grinned.
"Figured he'd use that. Manectric! Run Use Quick Attack circles around Houndoom! Literally!" Sora ordered. Manectric ran around Houndoom, much to Harrison's surprise.
"What the?!" Harrison exclaimed.
"Incredible! Manectric is just running around its opponent instead of just attacking! What could he be planning?" The announcer asked.
"So it was only a trick. Nice play," Harrison said, laughing.
"Okay, Manectric! Use Thunder Fang!" Sora ordered. Manectric came at Houndoom with a Thunder Fang and quickly landed a bite onto Houndoom's right paw. "Use Discharge!" Manectric unleashed a powerful electric attack at Houndoom, dealing some heavy damage.
"Why didn't Houndoom counter that?" Rui asked.
"Because Counter works better in physical attacks than special attacks," Wes said.
"Keep it up! Shock Wave!" Sora ordered.
"Use Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Houndoom fired Flamethrower at Manectric's Shock Wave, blocking it. Houndoom and Manectric held on.
"Sparks are really flying as Manectric and Houndoom are going neck and neck with Shock Wave and Flamethrower!" The announcer announced. Manaectric manages to overpower Houndoom's Flamethrower and lands a hit with Shock Wave. "Manectric pushes Houndoom's Flamethrower back and land a successful hit with that Shock Wave!"
"Use Discharge!" Sora ordered. Manectric unleashed Discharge, shocking Houndoom and resulted in a paralysis.
"Houndoom is now paralyzed!" The announcer announced.
"Oh no!" Harrison gasped.
"Finish Houndoom off with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Manectric dashed at Houndoom, landing a hit, finishing the Dark Pokémon with Quick Attack.
"Houndoom is unable to battle! Manectric wins!" The referee announced.
"You did great, Manectric!" Sora said.
"Manectric has managed to give Houndoom a shocking defeat, leaving Harrison with only one Pokémon left to use! It makes me wonder if his next Pokémon could make all the difference! We'll just have to wait and see it!" The announcer announced.
"You're as good as I expected, Sora. It's been a long time since I had a tough a battle as this one, but you're not going to beat me. Like you, I won't give up," Harrison said, taking out his sixth and final Pokéball and threw it. "I choose Blaziken!" His Pokéball opened and his Blaziken came out to battle.
"Harrison's final Pokémon is a Blaziken!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, just when Sora is out of the frying pan, he's going right into the fire," Ash said.
"That Blaziken looks very strong. Probably stronger than Houndoom," Michael said.
"I agree. I'm kinda curious to see what that Blaziken can do," Riku said.
"Manectric! Use Shock Wave!" Sora ordered. Manectric unleashed Shock Wave.
"I was hoping you'd use that move again, Sora! Blaziken! Kick that Shock Wave!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken gave Manectric's Shock Wave a kick, breaking the electrical attack, much to Sora's surprise.
"What the?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Pika?!" Pikachu also exclaimed.
"Okay, what just happened? I thought Shock Wave can't be dodged!" Rui said.
"That's right. Shock Wave can't be dodged, but nobody said it couldn't be blocked," Rei said.
"That Shock Wave had no effect at all!! Without relying too much on its Fire-type attacks, this Pokémon has displayed its strength!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, I gotta tell you, guys, I'm actually amazed by how strong that Blaziken is. To think, that's what Combusken will evolve into," May said.
"You got that right, May. And I can tell Harrison's Blaziken is much stronger and faster than Sora's Blaziken," Terra said.
"I think Sora would have stood a better chance if he still had Octillery or Ludicolo," Aqua said.
"Okay, use Discharge!" Sora ordered. Manectric unleashed Discharge right at Blaziken.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken dodged Manectric's Discharge with Quick Attack.
"A beautiful dodge! Manectric didn't even manage to land a hit on this Fire-type!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fire Punch!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken lands a red-hot Fire Punch onto Manectric.
"Blaziken's Fire Punch has done a decent amount of damage!" The announcer announced.
"Manectric! Use Thunder Fang!" Sora ordered.
"Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken fired Flamethrower at Manectric, knocking the Discharge Pokémon out.
"Manectric is unable to battle! Blaziken wins!" The referee announced.
"And that makes four Pokémon lost to Harrison! Blaziken has barley even started battling and it already mopped the floor with Manectric!" The announcer announced. Sora called back his Manectric.
"You did your best, Manectric. Get yourself a good rest," Sora said. He turned to Pikachu. "Okay, Pikachu, back to action."
"Pika," Pikachu nodded as he stepped back in the battlefield.
"Sora has sent Pikachu back out to battle! Let's see if Pikachu can put up a good fight after taking down Kecleon!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran around the icy battlefield.
"You think you can throw me off with speed? You're gonna have to think again, Sora! Blaziken! You use Quick Attack, too!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken ran around the Ice Field, matching speed for speed.
"Pikachu and Blaziken are going neck and neck with their speed!" The announcer announced.
"I don't expect you to win, Pikachu, I expect you to tire Blaziken out a bit. Blaziken's fire might be hot, but it won't keep burning forever," Sora said in his thoughts.
"What's Sora up to?" Ventus asked.
"I think he's planning on tiring Blaziken out," Kairi said.
"Tire out Blaziken?" Roxas asked.
"Yeah. Sora must have figured since raw power wasn't going to work, so he must have thought he'd go with speed to match speed. He knows Blaziken's a fast Pokémon, so if I know Sora as well as I think I do, he's going to keep that up until Blaziken's completely exhausted," Kairi said.
"That's actually pretty smart," Roxas said.
"I hope it works," Xion said.
"So do I," Kairi said.
Pikachu keeps on running around and around, and Blaziken does the same thing. Blaziken was putting too much energy in its running.
"Keep it up a little while longer, Blaziken. Pikachu's fast, but I know you can pull it off," Harrison said in his thoughts.
"Just a little bit more Pikachu. I just hope you don't lose your steam before Blaziken does," Sora said.
"Pikachu and Blaziken are still going at it! They're both running so fast, it's hard for me to keep track of them!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Use Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken fired Flamethrower, hitting Pikachu on the mark.
"Blaziken finally lands a hit onto Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Use Blaze Kick!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken lands a devastating Blaze Kick onto the Mouse Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.
"Blaziken lands a red-hot Blaze Kick on Pikachu! It looks like it's all over for Pikachu!" The announcer announced. Pikachu fell on the battlefield, knocked out.
"Pikachu!" Sora gasped.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Blaziken wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, both Trainers are down to one Pokémon each! I wonder what Pokémon Sora is going to send out next?" The announcer asked. Sora picked up Pikachu in his arms.
"You alright, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Chu," Pikachu replied sadly.
"Don't sweat it. You did your best. And I think you tired Blaziken out a bit," Sora said. And he was right, because Blaziken was panting heavily from all the running it was doing. Harrison noticed it as well.
"Blaziken must have used up a lot of energy against that Pikachu. That must have been his plan all along. Nice play," Harrison said in his thoughts. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Medicham! You're up!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Medicham came out to battle.
"Sora's final Pokémon is a Medicham! Since Medicham's a Psychic-type Pokémon, it has the advantage over Blaziken due to it being a Fighting-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Use Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken fired Flamethrower at the Meditate Pokémon.
"Okay, Medicham! Detect!" Sora ordered. Medicham's eyes sparkled and she moved to her right, making Flamethrower miss completely.
"Medicham managed to dodge by using its Detect! A nice save!" The announcer announced.
"Great! Use Ice Punch!" Sora ordered. Medicham came at Blaziken to land an Ice Punch.
"Use Fire Punch!" Harrison ordered.
Blaziken and Medicham came at each other with their elemental punch attacks and each landed a blow onto each other.
"Talking about a real clash in power! Those two have landed a punch onto one another, and only one of them will be walking away a winner!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Use Blaze Kick!" Harrison ordered.
"Medicham! Use Axe Kick!" Sora ordered. Medicham kicks into the air and then came down, giving Blaziken a hard kick before it could land a Blaze Kick.
"Medicham cancels out Blaziken's Blaze Kick by using an amazing Axe Kick!" The announcer announced.
"Use Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken fired a Flamethrower at Medicham.
"Psychic!" Sora ordered. Medicham uses her psychic powers to block Blaziken's Flamethrower. "Now, send it back!" Medicham sends Blaziken's Flamethrower back at the Blaze Pokémon, dealing double the damage.
"That's a powerful Medicham he's got there. But it's going to take more than power to take down my Blaziken. Quick Attack!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken rushes at Medicham with another Quick Attack.
"Dodge and use Axe Kick!" Sora ordered. Medicham kicks into the air.
"Medicham is preparing another Axe Kick!" The announcer announced. Harrison grinned.
"Just what I hoped you'd do, Sora. Blaziken! Dodge it!" Harrison called out. Blaziken manages to dodge in time. Medicham fell and ends up hurting herself, much to Sora's dismay.
"Medicham!" Sora gasped.
"Blaziken's Quick Attack was only a trick to have Medicham use Axe Kick and fail!" The announcer announced.
"I sure walked into that one. Medicham has taken a lot of damage from Axe Kick. Better not use that again because of that," Sora said.
"Blaziken! Use Flamethrower!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken fires another Flamethrower at Medicham.
"Okay, Medicham! Use your Psychic to stop Blaziken's Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Medicham stopped Blaziken's Flamethrower in its tracks. "Like the last time!" Medicham uses her psychic powers to send Blaziken's Flamethrower back at its owner.
"I don't think so! Dodge it!" Harrison shouted. Blaziken ran away to avoid its own Flamethrower.
"Blaziken is running away from its own Flamethrower! Harrison is starting to play it safe this time!" The announcer announced. Blaziken was getting more and more tired from all the running it was doing, so it tripped and fell. Blaziken is then struck by its own Flamethrower. "It looks like Medicham wasn't going to let Blaziken get away that easily!"
"Use Psychic again!" Sora ordered. Medicham uses Psychic to lift up Blaziken and then send it right at an ice pillar. Blaziken's entire body began to give off a red aura.
"It looks like Blaziken still has some fight left in it!" The announcer announced.
"Look at that!" Lisia gasped.
"It's Blaze," May said.
"Now that Blaze kicked in, that means Flamethrower and Fire Punch will be a lot stronger than they would normally be. This is my last chance to end this," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Blaziken! Fire Punch!" Harrison ordered. Blaziken rushes at Medicham with a more powerful Fire Punch.
"Okay, Medicham! Ice Punch! Max power!" Sora ordered. Medicham builds up power in Ice Punch as she rushes at Blaziken. They each land a punch onto each other. Both Medicham and Blaziken stood in a stance. A few seconds passed before Blaziken fell backwards, beaten.
"Blaziken is unable to battle! Medicham wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"What an amazing battle it was today! Both of these two Trainers gave it everything they had and not one of them was willing to call it quits!" The announcer announced as the crowd started to cheer. Sora's female fan club were especially happy that he won as they screamed with lovesickness. Harrison helped his Blaziken on its feet.
"Wow, that was an amazing fight you put up, Blaziken. I'm so very proud of you," Harrison said.
"Blaze," Blaziken weakly said. Harrison and Blaziken smiled as they approached Sora and Medicham. Both Trainers and Pokémon shook hands. "Congratulations on your victory, Sora. You deserved to win after that battle you just gave me. I almost forgotten what it felt like."
"I gotta tell you, you almost had me today. And I enjoyed it just as much as you did. I'm already looking forward to our next battle," Sora said.
"So am I," Harrison said.
"Now that Sora has made it as one of the top eight finalists, the tournament will resume tomorrow morning, so be sure to stick around if you wanna see more exciting battles! Until then, Pokémon battle fans, good night!" The announcer announced.
