Hello everyone!

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho, it's characters or the references that I make. I do own my own characters and the plotline of the story.

This chapter is still setting the tone of the story as a whole, and focuses on Yusuke and Kimora's connection, to show that no matter how long they have been a part, their connection hasn't diminished. As it has been mentioned before, the two of them have kept in contact over the years by phone calls and video calls.

Next chapter will focus more on Kimora with her thoughts and her own issues with her return.

Please note that this is going to be a bit of a slow burn and slow update kind of story.

I do hope everyone who reads this enjoys it and I would have to hear back on what you think!

Brushing rain droplets from her face, Kimora Urameshi gave her twin brother a bright smile. Though she was drenched to the bone from the storm, Kimora felt nothing but warmth as she stared back into her twin's wide brown eyes. She watched as he stepped out form the temple, joining her in the rain, a hand stretched out in front of him. Behind him, Kimora heard his friends call out Yusuke's name in surprise. Ignoring the others, Yusuke barely noticed the rain soak into his clothes or the way his socks absorbed the water on the ground.

"Hey Yu, long time no see." Kimora laughed softly, moving closer to him until they were only a couple feet apart.

Yusuke couldn't help but laugh in disbelief as he stared down at his sister, and poked her forehead, needing to make sure she was real, and he wasn't just hallucinating. A giggle left his twin at his action and she cocked an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side, silently asking if he really didn't believe she was there. Yusuke stared at her and his finger before a grin spread across his face.

"Kimora! I can't believe it's really you!" he yelled out excitedly, laughing as he scooped his twin up into his arms and spun her around.

"Yusuke!" Kimora laughed, squealing when her twin ended up slipping on the wet ground, causing them to fall.

Landing on the ground hard with identical groans, the Urameshi twins took a moment to gather themselves before moving. Kimora looked down at her brother, having landed on him in their fall, while her brother looked up at her. The two were silent for a moment before bursting out laughing at the ridiculousness of their situation. Kimora couldn't believe they ended up in this situation after so long, though she honestly expected nothing less when being reunited with her brother.

"Hey dimwits, get your asses inside before you end up catching your death!" a gravely older voice snapped, cutting through the twin's laughter.

"Right, sorry, grandma!" Yusuke responded with a sigh before looking up at his sister again. "Well, you heard the lady, sis, let's get inside before the old hag get her breeches in a twist."

"Alright, though I do have to say, it's your fault we're in this mess." Kimora teased, pushing herself to her feet and offered her twin her hand.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll happily take the blame for this." Yusuke teased back, grinning at her as she helped him to his feet.

Wrapping an arm around her shoulders, Yusuke guided his sister into the temple, where Keiko and Yukina handed them each a towel to dry off. Kimora thanked the turquoise haired woman with a gentle smile and tugged off her hood to attempt to dry her hair. Kimora always cursed her thick hair, especially when it was soaking wet like this. It didn't help that clothes were just as soaked as her hair; it did make her wonder if she could trouble her hostess for some dry clothes. It wouldn't do her well to stay in these clothes, at least not until they were dried properly.

Almost as if reading her mind, the older woman who called out to them stepped forward, pipe in hand as she looked at the two adults as if they were children. Genkai didn't know what to expect when she was told that Yusuke's sister would be joining them. The last thing she expected for that woman to be standing in front of her. Long black hair hung down to her ass in curly waves, her skin naturally tanned from being outdoors. Her soaked clothes clung to her, showing off the curves of her body without being indecent. Her amethyst eyes were warm, the love she felt for her twin shown through as she meticulously worked on drying her hair.

"You can use the bathroom upstairs to wash up and get some dry clothes." Genkai spoke to the siblings, knowing they would feel better once they warmed up.

"Thanks, Grandma!" Yusuke grinned at the older woman and nudged his sister to follow him.

"Thank you, Master Genkai." Kimora bowed out of respect before following her brother up the stairs.

Keiko watched the siblings disappear upstairs with a smile on her face and a tear in her eye. It had been so long since she saw the two of them together, that she couldn't help but feel warmth spread through her chest at the sight of them. Once the twins were gone, the rest of the group were left to wait until they returned. Keiko and the others returned to the main room where she sat on the couch she had been sitting on earlier, looking at the others, she saw confusion on most of their faces, except for Kuwabara, who had the same look on his face that she no doubt had on hers.

Taking a seat in one of the armchairs littered around the living room, Kurama crossed a leg over the other, knowing they would have to wait for the two to return before proper introductions could be made. In the meantime, the redhead thought on what he knew about the newcomer already. It was clear from the way she and Yusuke acted, they were close, even in their years of absences. Yet, he had trouble figuring out if she was anything like his friend, any energy she seemed to have would ebb away before he could lock onto it. It was the strangest thing for him to encounter, even more so when he saw her look at him the first time he tried reaching out to her energy. He doubted anyone else knew what he was doing, otherwise, Yusuke would have called him out on it. Soft laughter broke Kurama's train of thought as the sound of two sets of footfalls trotted down the steps.

"God damnit, Yusuke, I honestly thought you would have grown out of that habit by now!" Kimora's laughter trickled into the living room.

"What? It's literally the only habit I have left from when we were growing up!" Yusuke's sheepish laughter followed as the two stepped into the living room.

Looking at the two now, Kurama could tell that they had showered and changed. Yusuke wore a plain white t-shirt and lounge pants, his usually slicked back hair falling into his face as he led his sister into the living room. Kimora, on the other hand was wearing a pair of black leggings and a large white t-shirt which fell back her rear, that Kurama could identify as Yusuke's. Her hair was braided over her shoulder as she rolled her eyes at her twin, a common interaction between them, he suspected. The two were similar in heights with Yusuke being taller of the two but mere inches.

"Anyway, it's time for introductions," Yusuke declared, grinning at everyone as he stood in front of everyone with his twin next to him. "Everyone, this is my twin sister, Kimora! Kimora, these are Genkai, Shuuichi Minamino, Hiei, Boton, and Yukina. I'm sure you remember Keiko and the Kuwabara siblings."

"It's nice to mee you all. I'm sorry for my earlier appearance, I didn't expect such a downpour to come on so suddenly on my way here." Kimora gave them a polite smile and a small bow.

"Now, now, no need to be so formal, Kimora! We're all friends here!" Keiko giggled as she got up and wrapped her arms around the other woman in a hug.

"It's really good to see you again, Keiko, I see you're still the most level-headed person around." Kimora teased the brunette gently, returning the hug. "Thank you for bringing me some clothes, I hope Rika wasn't too much of a chatterbox when you visited the shop." She whispered into her friend's ear.

"Any time, and she was fine!" Keiko giggled, "It's too bad she didn't want to join us, I think it would have been fun to have another girl around here."

"Oh, trust me, I don't think anyone is ready to experience Rika at her fullest just yet." Kimora laughed, grinning softly at her as the two women pulled apart, sharing the same expression on their faces.

"Oh no… what are you two plotting now?" Yusuke asked, almost afraid to know what was going through their heads now. He remembered all the times the two plotted together and caused him trouble in the end.

"Nothing!" the two women chirped innocently, only to laugh as they shared a knowing look.

"Kimora!" Kuwabara called out, wanting his turn to greet the woman. He came up to her side with a large goofy grin on his face as he pointed to himself. "Do you remember me!?" he asked curiously.

"Of course, I remember, Kazuma. It's hard to forget the knucklehead I tried tutoring. I see you're still the tallest of everyone." Kimora laughed, giving the gentle giant a fond smile. "Yu's also told me that you're almost done your apprenticeship at the clinic too, right? I'm glad to see your passion for animals hasn't diminished any." She told him, watching as a light flush graced the man's cheeks as he sheepishly scratched it.

"Hey, Kimmie!" Yusuke whined after hearing what she told his best friend. "You're making me sound like a sap…"

"Well, you are one, Yu," Kimora stated simply, grinning at her twin. "You're so proud of everyone that you can't help but gush over them anytime we talk." She teased, lightly poking her brother's cheek.

It seemed that was all Yusuke needed to snap out of his embarrassment as he tugged his sister into a headlock and playfully rammed his knuckles into her skull. Their laughter was contagious as the rest of the group joined in, watching as life return to Yusuke's eyes as everyone finally settled down and took their seats so the night could continue. Kurama couldn't help but watch everyone's interactions with their newest addition, though he was grateful Yusuke used his human name during the introductions. It was such a small thing, but Kurama preferred having his demon identity hidden from anyone not involved in their world.

The night continued as it had before, but with new energy coming off the spirit detective as he talked with the others. They kept their topics to everyday, mundane things, keeping talks about Spirit World and Demon World off the table since it was clear that Yusuke had kept that part of his life hidden from her. That was the only stipulation that Yusuke seemed to have was that his twin sister was kept in the dark. It was a couple hours now since the twins were properly reunited, and Kurama wasn't any closer to sensing if the woman was hiding something from them or if she just had that little spiritual energy to her.

Kimora sat on one of the chairs near her brother and friend, seeking comfort in them as she faced the room of strangers. Despite her earlier openness with goofing off with her twin, Kimora was much more reserved than Yusuke. She preferred to sit down and listen to others chat around her, she was always an observer, and this wouldn't be the time she could merely observe. These were people she had heard her brother talking about for years and heard numerous stories about them. While she had a feeling there were to the stories than what he told her, she would never pry into her brother's life that he didn't want her to know.

"So, Kimora, I gotta know," Boton pounced on her, her bubble-gum eyes sparkling mischievously at her, "what do you do for a living? To be honest, Yusuke has never told any of us about you…"

While it didn't surprise her that Yusuke never spoke about her to anyone, Kimora was surprised that he never let it slip once. Looking over at her brother, Kimora saw the way he avoided eye contact with her. It was the simplest action that spoke volumes to her even after all these years. He was doing everything in his power to protect her, and he would continue to do so.

"I own a florist shop." Kimora revealed with a soft smile as she pulled one of her legs up onto the chair and wrapped her arms around it, resting her chin on of her knee. "It's going to take some time still before we're open for business, but my partner and I are almost done. We're just finishing up with the greenhouse now."

"Greenhouse?" The question came from the redhead that Kimora's brother called Shuuichi, the man had been silent after the introductions were made, watching her interactions with her twin and those around them.

Turning to the redhead now, Kimora nodded her head in confirmation. "Yes, my friend and I grow all of our plants and flowers for the shop, we're lucky that all our plants travelled so well that we don't need to wait for the new stock to bloom."

Her amethyst eyes clashed against his emerald ones and she watched as his eyes narrowed slightly, though it was hardly noticeable to the others as she tilted her head at him. "Is there something wrong with owning a florist shop and greenhouse?" she asked innocently, blinking slowly at him, and tilted her head.

Kurama saw the error in his reaction when he felt all eyes on him now. "No, not at all, it's just unheard of someone opening a successful floral shop so young." He responded gently, giving her a charming smile that usually caused human women to usually forgive him.

"That's a little rude to assume I think it would become successful right away," Kimora chuckled dryly now, shaking her head a little him. "But I guess I can see why you would come to that conclusion so quickly after knowing my brother for so long, Shuuichi." She mused, "Unfortunately, this is something I love to do, so we'll see what comes in the future."

Deciding that it was enough social interaction for her for the night, Kimora stood from the chair she occupied and turned to Genkai. "Master Genkai, if it's not too much trouble, could I trouble you for a room for the night?" she asked curiously, her polite tone never wavering as she waited for the old psychic to respond.

"Tired sis?" Yusuke asked curiously, frowning slightly at the way she was acting.

"Yeah, it's been a long last couple days getting everything ready, and I'm still not used to the time differences yet…" Kimora yawned into her hand.

"You can use the room from earlier, I'm sure in the morning everyone will be in a better mood after a good night's sleep." Genkai mused, casting a look over to the redhead.

"Thank you, Master Genkai, I appreciate it." Kimora bowed again, giving the older woman a smile before giving Keiko and Yusuke a hug.

Much to the surprise of everyone, Yusuke pressed a brotherly kiss to her forehead before watching her head off to her room for the night. The moment her footsteps disappeared up the stairs, the Spirit Detective turned sharply to his redheaded friend annoyed. The last thing he wanted was for his sister to feel unwelcomed with his friends, but it seemed Kurama had no issue with that.

"What the hell was that all about fox-boy!?" Yusuke demanded, gritting his teeth slightly.
