A simple peaceful moment between Ace and Marco in the privacy of their chambers.
"I'm tired."
"Then sleep-yoi."
"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo~"
"Okay."
A loud groan tore from the raven on the bed, "Marcooooooooooooooooooo!"
"Yes, my love?"
"Nap with me!"
"Once I've finished this paperwork, firefly." The blond couldn't help but chuckle as another groan echoed, one look showed his boyfriend had plopped his face into his pillow, kicking legs in the air as he laid on his belly on the bed. "Ace-"
"Yes?!" instantly the smaller one was sitting up crossed legged, eagerly looking over, "Nap?"
"It's been two seconds haha."
"Booo."
"Why don't you sit next to me." he spoke and patted the chair next to him, since Ace was more often in his room then not, he had Fossa extend his desk so Ace could sit with him, "I know you have one small report left, if you finish it now, you won't need to make it tonight. Then we can spend the time together."
There was a squint of the eyes and a skeptical look, "You promise? You won't start more paperwork?"
His quill was put down and a hand came to rest on his heart, "I swear that once I've finished this, I will not start any paperwork again today and will spend my time with the love of my life."
"Me?"
Marco couldn't help but leave his work for just a moment to get up and walk up, taking hold of Ace's face and leaning down to press their lips together. "Ofcourse you-yoi." he spoke full of love, rubbing his thumbs over freckled cheeks, "You're my whole world."
"Mar..."
"I love you."
Marco accepted the flushed cheeks and surging hug as it came, knowing the words were hard to say for the younger one, but his actions spoke volumes, so it was okay. He knew they reciprocated the same feelings.
After another press of his lips to raven hairs, did he pick the other up and carry him back to the desk, placing him in the second chair. Chuckling at the cute pout when he sat down himself.
"C'mon love," he smiled and ruffled his hair, "I'm practically sure I can finish by the time you've finished your report, and then we can do whatever you want to do."
"..."
"I promise-yoi."
"Okay... You better not want to check my report after I'm done."
"That's for tomorrow."
"It better." Ace grumbled a bit but did take the blank report papers to start filling it out.
Marco smiled as he saw the pout leaving on Ace's face as concentration sat in and the look of a real dedicated and serious commander took over. It was amazing to see Ace switch between his emotions. To see him able to enjoy life to the fullest and have fun, go for his dreams, but also knowing when and how to be serious. He may not be perfect, no one of them is, he's perfect for him and they would help each other when they needed it.
With that he picked up his own quill to start working again, peeking over to see the other work every now and then. He had really been almost done, so he paced himself to not finish too early. Only putting his signature at the bottom was Ace was filling out the last of his papers himself.
A little less then 5 minutes later, did Ace put his own signature down, definitely not a little burn mark at the end of the paper, and he handed his papers over to the blond.
"Here you go, first commander. Second division's weekly report accounted for."
With a chuckle he accepted it and placed it right in the middle of his desk, ready to read over the next day. "Thank you, second commander. You're the first one to turn in. Always a good college."
The both looked at each other before bursting into laughter and they got up, Ace immediately into Marco's arms, and who was he to decline the hug.
Strong arms wrapped around the other and lips pressed down on his hair before he looked up into the most beautiful blue eyes.
"Firefly-yoi?"
"hmm?"
"Did you hear me?"
"No, I was lost in your eyes." Ace said smoothly and giggled at the small blush adoring Marco's face. It was something only he got to see on the first commander and he loved it. "What was it?"
"I asked if you wanted to take that nap now?"
Humming the Raven nodded and they went to the bed, sitting down on it at first and Ace settled between Marco's legs before he could lay down. Back resting to the other's chest.
"Ace?"
"I want to do a fire-show first, is that okay?"
"Perfectly fine-yoi." A gentle smile adored his lips and he moved his arms around the other, cupping Ace's own hands that he held before them in the shape of a small bowl.
Both their flames activated softly and while Marco can't control any special shapes with his flames, with Ace's flames intertwining with it, the Raven could do it. Sparks and string of blue and orange fire danced in a small area around their hands.
If the flames could speak, they would tell a story about love and harmony.
They discovered this by accident one time and now they often took a moment to just play with their flames. Cupping each other's hands, letting their fire flow together and Ace giving just the right amount of power to them to make them come alive.
The raven told him that he didn't actively control how they moved and sparked. He ofcourse controlled how big they were, that it didn't grow out of control, but he didn't direct the little sparks, the flames that intertwined and rolled over the other. The flames did that themselves. Actively playing together, dancing around and with each other. At peace with each other, just like they were.
It was relaxing and a show of love for the both of them.
After a while the show died down slowly and freckled hands closed around the last sparks. With that Marco wrapped his own hands around Ace's and pressed a kiss to his head before he guided to other to lay down. Helping him turn around and hold him as they pressed together.
"Love you."
The smallest whisper was there from the Raven as his face was pressed into his tatted chest and it warmed his heart. The words got instantly stored into his mental diary, more and more pages very slowly forming of when those words were said directly.
"And I love you-yoi. Sleep well, darling. I'll be here when you wake up." I'll always, always be here right next to you.
