Description - After getting stuck in a parachute once again, and being laughed at by the other pups, Marshall challenges them to not get stuck in any parachutes, bedsheets, or blankets throughout the day. After a moment of thinking, they accepted, and the bet is on.
The pups were sitting around, outside the lookout with nothing to do. Each of them recommend an idea, but each was shot down as they've already done everything that was being suggested. Suddenly, Skye came over to them, holding something large and colourful.
"Hey guys, I have an idea for something we could do." Skye told them, bringing the large, colourful object over to them.
"What is that you're holding?" Chase asked, curious about what the large item she was carrying was.
"It's a parachute. I was thinking since we had nothing to do, we could play with it. We could take turns running underneath it while tossing it up in the air." Skye replied, the others thought about it for a moment before agreeing, happy to finally do something new.
Skye laid out the large, circular parachute before each pup grabbed the edge of the parachute, practicing to toss it into the air, before they began playing. Chase went first, running underneath the parachute as the other pups tossed it in the air, and coming out the other side just as it fell back down. Rocky went next, running underneath the parachute as well when the other pups tossed it in the air, making it to the other side, although a a bit slower then Chase. He still made it to the other side before it hit the ground, so the game continued.
Then it was Marshall's turn. The Dalmatian got ready, and when the other pups tossed the parachute in the air, he began running. Halfway through however, he tripped on the ground, managing to get tangled up in the rainbow coloured parachute.
"Ahh, help! I can't see!" Marshall yelled, unable to free himself from the parachute he was now tangled in.
The other pups laughed as they watched Marshall move around, flailing his arms around as he tried to get out from the parachute.
"Y'know, with how he is stuck, Marshall kind of looks like a ghost under there." Zuma pointed out, while Marshall continued struggling.
The pups all remembered the time they thought Marshall was a ghost, when the Dalmatian was sleepwalking around the lookout with a bedsheet covering him.
"Speaking of ghost. Marshall, how did you even manage to get stuck under a bedsheet while sleepwalking that time?" Rocky asked, curious how he managed it.
"I'll explain. But first, can you please help me out of here!?" Marshall asked them, wanting to be free from the new prison he created. The other pups helped untangled him from the parachute, and now that he was free, Marshall was back to his happy self.
"Now that you're no longer stuck, how did you get stuck in a bedsheet that day?" Rocky asked him again, still curious. Marshall sighed before beginning to explain.
The pups all listened as he explained, some of them holding the urge to laugh as he did. Once Marshall finished explaining, Skye was the first one to speak.
"You should be a ghost for Halloween, you'd fit the role perfectly." Skye told him, referencing how he managed to fool all of them into thinking he was a ghost.
"A very silly ghost." Chase added, referring to how Marshall looked flailing around underneath the parachute just a moment ago.
The other pups laughed together at the comment while Marshall stood there, thinking about something. The others always laughed at his clumsy acts and assumed he doesn't try to not be clumsy on purpose. The Dalmatian wanted them to understand that being clumsy was apart of him.
"I have an idea, let's have a challenge. You all try not to get tangeled up in any bed sheets, blankets, or parachutes. Be it the toy or any other parachutes and bedsheets we have laying around the lookout. If you succeed, I'll try even harder to be less clusmy for now on. But if you fail, then you have to spend the afternoon stuck under the parachute, trying to get out by yourselves." Marshall stated, believing that they would fail the challenge. Chase, always loving a good challenge, decided to add an extra stake for Marshall.
"Okay, but I'd like to add an extra punishment for losing. If we win, you have to spend the afternoon stuck underneath the parachute instead." Chase added, assuming the Dalmatian wouldn't accept it. However, he was mildly surprised when Marshall accepted.
The pups all thought about the challenge for a moment, and after speaking to each other about it, they accepted the challenge unanimously.
"You're so going to lose this challenge!" Chase told him, assuming that there was no way he'd lose, and him being guaranteed to win given Marshall's clumsy nature.
"You sure about that?" Marshall shot back, knowing that the shepherd would likely be blinded by his ego.
They then decided to continue playing, this time with extra stakes if they failed to dodge the parachute. The pups all collected around the parachute and each grabbed an edge of it, with Skye preparing to run underneath it next. They all counted down from three before tossing the parachute into the air. Skye then dashed underneath it, soon coming out the otherside, with the parachute falling down behind her. She then went over and switched places with one of the other pups.
It was now Rubble's turn to rush underneath. He got into position and prepared to run as the pups counted down from three again. Once they hit zero, they raised the parachute into the air as Rubble began running underneath. He barely missed getting stuck under the parachute. But he succeeded anyway, getting to the otherside just as the parachute fell behind him. He then went and switched places with one of the other pups.
Now it was Zuma's turn. The Labrador stood in front of the parachute, preparing himself as he began thinking about the punishment that would await him if he failed. The pups all began counting down from three once more. And once they reached zero, they rose the parachute into the air, and Zuma began running. The Labrador made it pretty far, but not far enough, as the parachute landed on top of him before he reached the otherside. Zuma got stuck underneath the parachute, struggling to get out of the large, circular object while the other pups laughed. They soon went over and helped him out, with Marshall looking at the Labrador with a smug grin.
"Darnit!" Zuma yelled in frustration, closing his eyes and hitting the ground.
"Welp, one of you guys failed the challenge." Marshall said, still holding his smug grin. Zuma glared at the Dalmatian for a moment before turning and getting out of the way, standing to the side of the game.
The pups then continued playing, surrounding the parachute and grabbing the edges of it again. It was now Chase's turn, and as such, the police pup got into formation as the others began counting down. Once they hit zero, the parachute was raised into the air before Chase began running. He made it to the other side with plenty of time to spare, which made Marshall a bit nervous, as he was next in line to run underneath the parachute.
Marshall let go of the parachute and switched places with Chase. He stood there for a moment, preparing himself and hoping that his clumsiness wouldn't kick in. His friends began counting down from three, and once they hit zero, the parachute flew up and the Dalmatian began running. He narrowly dodged the parachute falling, making it to the other side. He did trip on a rock once he got to the other side, but he didn't get stuck in the parachute, so the challenge still continued.
It was now Rocky's turn. The mixed breed switched places with the firepup, getting ready to run underneath it. The other pups all counted down to zero before raising the parachute once more. Rocky began running underneath it, but unfortunately for him, he didn't make it to the otherside, and the parachute fell down on top of him. The pups all laughed once more as they helped the mixer breed out of his trap.
"That's another one of you that failed." Marshall pointed out, a smug grin appearing across his face as he spoke. Rocky glared at him as he stood up, just as Zuma did when he failed.
There's no way we'll lose this bet, right? Chase asked himself, becoming worried that they might actually lose the bet. Chase was hoping it wouldn't happen, mostly because of his ego.
The pups were all laughing together, some of them slightly worried that they'd lose the bet afterall. They didn't have much time to worry though, as they soon received a call from Ryder.
PAW Patrol! To the lookout!
"Ryder needs us!" The pups all exclaimed at once. They all then began running to the lookout, ready for the mission.
As they traveled through the lookout toward the elevator, Marshall was being very careful not to trip on anything as he hopped over toy after toy. He managed to reach the elevator without slamming into the other pups for once, which suprised him.
"Hey, you didn't turn us all into bowling pins this time! I didn't even know that was possible." Chase pointed out, slightly poking at Marshall's clumsiness.
"Har har." Marshall replied, rolling his eyes. The pups all laughed together before the elevator began taking them up.
The elevator paused midway to let the pups get their uniforms and puppacks on, before raising again. They then arrived at the top of the lookout and hopped out of the elevator, getting into formation, before Chase said his line.
"PAW Patrol! Ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase said, reporting to Ryder that everyone was present and ready.
"Thank you for coming quickly pups." Ryder thanked them. He then pressed something on his puppad, resulting in a representation of Chickaletta stuck in a tree appearing on the large monitor behind them. "Chickaletta has gotten stuck in a tree, again, and we need to go save her."
"Of course." Chase muttered. Ryder then continued speaking.
"First, I'll need... Marshall! I'll need you to use your ladder to get Chickaletta down from the tree." Ryder told him.
"I'm fired up!" Marshall responded as he jumped forward.
"Next, I'll also need... Chase! I'll need you to deploy your next underneath the tree, just in case." Ryder told him.
"Chase is on the case!" Chase responded as he jumped forward.
"PAW Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder declared as he slid down the firepole next to him. Chase and Marshall then ran to the slide next to them as the other pups all returned to the elevator, deciding to continue playing while they were gone.
A couple minutes later...
Ryder, Chase, and Marshall soon arrived on the scene. Immediately seeing Mayor Goodway standing nearby, looking up at the chicken. Marshall put his truck into position to use his ladder, as Chase called out his net cannon and deployed the net underneath the tree branch that Chickaletta was stuck on. Ryder then approached Mayor Goodway as Marshall began climbing the ladder.
"Ryder! Can you please save Chickaletta?" Mayor Goodway begged Ryder to save the chicken.
"Don't worry Mayor Goodway. Marshall will get her down soon." Ryder assured her, before glancing up at Marshall.
Marshall arrived at the top of the ladder and began reaching out for the chicken. However, he was surprised when Chickaletta jumped on top of him, which caused the Dalmatian to fall back. Chickaletta managed to leap off onto the net below. Marshall wasn't as lucky.
"Ahh! Ooh! Eee! Ahh! Oh! Ooh! Eee! Ooh! Ahh!" Marshall said as he fell down the ladder, banging his head and back onto each step. Until he eventually fell into the back of his truck, where he stored all the medical equipment.
Mayor Goodway went over and picked up Chickaletta, while Chase ran over to the back of Marshall's truck to check on him. When he turned the corner, he saw the Dalmatian lying on the floor, wrapping in hospital blankets.
"I'm good!" Marshall called out as he stood up and unwrapped himself from the blankets. "We're on a mission, this doesn't count!" Marshall told him, remembering the challenge.
"Yeah, unfortunately." Chase replied before helping Marshall out of the blankets and heading back to his truck. Marshall then hopped into the seat of his truck and began following as Ryder began driving off.
Meanwhile, back at the lookout
The pups were surrounding the parachute, holding each side of it as Rubble got ready to run underneath it. after the pups counted down from three, the parachute was lifted and Rubble began running. He didn't make it to the other side however, instead slamming into the ground as the parachute covered him. Skye and Zuma went over to help him out just as Chase and Marshall returned to the lookout.
The shepherd and dalmatian hopped out of their respective vehicles and trotted over to the pups, happy to return to playing. They then noticed Rubble was missing.
"Where's Rubble?" Chase asked, a bit confused as he looked around for the bulldog, but couldn't see him.
"I'm stuck under here!" Rubble yelled, his voice muffled from the parachute covering him. Skye and Zuma soon got the parachute off of him, freeing the bulldog. "Free! At last!" Rubble exclaimed as he leaped away from the parachute.
"So, that's a third pup eliminated. There's only you and Skye left in the challenge." Marshall pointed out to the shepherd next to him, Chase glanced over at him and began getting worried that he might actually lose the bet.
Chase then assured himself that he wouldn't lose. And in the off chance that he did, Skye surely wouldn't. The other pups surrounded the parachute as Skye got ready to run underneath, The pups began counting down as Chase hoped she wouldn't get caught. Once they hit zero, the parachute was raised, and Skye began running underneath. Unfortunately, despite Chase hoping she wouldn't, Skye just barely didn't make it to the other side.
"Correction; It's only you left." Marshall whispered to the shepherd next to him. Chase was becoming more and more worried now; he almost never lost any challenge that was given to him. Yet, here he was, about to lose.
The pups looked over and watched as Skye calmly sat down, shook her head, and carefully unwrapped the parachute from her. She then stood up and walked to the side, a bit disappointed in herself.
Chase then got into formation as the last pup left in the challenge, and prepared himself to run. Chase was getting increasing worried that he'd fail, especially since he was the last one left. He didn't want to fail his friends and lose the challenge, as they seemingly looked up to him to succeed (at least, he thought so).
Three!
Two!
One!
The parachute was lifted high in the air as Chase began running underneath. Chase was trying to be extremely careful, dodging the rock that Zuma had tripped on, and making sure to avoid tripping on his own feet. Unfortunately, he wasn't careful enough, as the parachute fell back down and trapped him, just before he made it to the other side.
Chase stood up and threw off the parachute, just as Marshall walked up to him, with the other pups following behind.
"Welp, I won the bet." Marshall pointed out, much to Chase's displeasure.
"Yeah, I guess you did." Chase replied, rolling his eyes and secretly angry at himself for losing. Marshall then reminded them all of the terms and the punishment for losing.
A unknown amount of time later...
Marshall was sitting next to the lookout door, watching the other pups all struggle to get out from underneath the large parachute as he slowly sipped his coffee. He then heard the doors next to him open and glanced over to see Ryder, leaving the lookout and walking over to him.
"So, how long are they going to take to get free?" Ryder asked, wondering how they couldn't just take off the parachute.
"Probably about another hour knowing them." Marshall replied, taking another sip of coffee. Ryder leaned against the wall next to him and watched the other pups.
They then saw Rubble leap away from the parachute and exclaim that he was finally free, resulting in the two laughing. Meanwhile, the others were still stuck under the parachute, struggling to get free from their prison.
