Story Title - Locke's Lament

Genre - Hurt/Comfort

Main Characters - Locke (OC), Skye

Description - Locke was grieving the loss of his mate, a beautiful Cockapoo named Kaye. Fortunately, while he was grieving, his sister, Skye, arrived to comfort him.

A Cockapoo, named Locke, was sitting in a forest clearing next to a river, staring down at his reflection in the water as he reminisced about the time he spent with his mate.

A year in the past, Valentine's day...

Locke and Kaye were standing next to one another at a mansion party in Paris. Locke was wearing a black and white tuxedo, with a fancy bowtie to finish it. While Kaye was wearing a long, cyan dress, which was her favorite colour.

They were watching as everyone in the party danced to the music that was playing throughout the mansion. Kaye then leaned her head against Locke's shoulder, which Locke responded by turning to her.

"A dance, my love?" Locke asked. Kneeling down before her and reaching out his paw for her to take.

"Yes, my love." Kaye replied, taking his paw as they walking over to the crowd and began slowly dancing together.

Back to Modern day...

Locke began shedding a tear as he reminisced. Ever since Kaye disappeared, his personality changed completely; He went from the loving, caring person everyone loved, to the hateful, spiteful person he was now. Kaye had gone missing a month before, and while the authorities tried to find her for a couple weeks, she was declared dead shortly after. Even if no body was found. Locke was sure she couldn't have been gone, but he was beginning to accept it, knowing that he couldn't deny it forever.

As he remembered the last Christmas they celebrated just a couple months before, he began hearing footsteps in the woods behind him. Locke turned around, ready to fight if it was a bear, but saw his sister, Skye.

"What do you want?" Locke growled at her, not wanting to see her at that moment. Skye stepped back in response, not wanting to anger her sibling.

"I just came to check on you, I know you're having a hard time after... what happened..." Skye replied, clearly nervous to speak with her brother. She then noticed his fur was stained with tears.

"You know nothing! You don't know my pain, you still have your love!" Locke barked back, looking like he was about to explode in anger.

Skye was a bit surprised at his response; she didn't know that Locke was aware of her relationship with Chase, as they kept it secret from everyone they knew.

"Locke, I know I haven't experienced something so horrible as you have. But I can still support you!" Skye told him, not wanting to leave her brother behind during this hard time for him.

"It's your fault she's gone! You bastards could've saved her on that mountain, but you just left her there to die! I thought I could trust you and your friends, but you're just as useless as always!" Locke blew up on her, causing Skye to back up into a tree. She had never seen her brother this angry before.

"We tried to find her! We tried to save her! I'm sorry that we couldn't save her, brother." Skye apologized. Since she was the one that was responsible for flying around and looking for missing people, she blamed herself for failing to find and save Kaye. No matter how much the others insist that it wasn't her fault.

Locke stood there, staring at his sister with a hateful glare. Skye was half expecting him to attack her, but Locke eventually turned back to the river and sat down. Skye could hear him quietly crying, and despite him insisting for her to leave him be, she slowly stepped toward him.

"It's going to be alright, brother, just let it all out." Skye assured her brother. Locke glanced over at her, but didn't say anything, instead just silently crying even more as Skye rested one of her paws on his back.

This is the end of the fifth story

I honestly didn't expect anyone to request a story with my OCs as the main characters. But if people want more backstory to them, I'm happy to expand on them.
