At the lookout

It was sunset in Adventure Bay. Chase was outside the lookout, sitting under his favorite tree as he read a book. As the shepherd grew older, he began enjoying spending his time alone, reading his favorite books in silence. It was a nice distraction from the constant work he had to do to keep Adventure Bay safe, especially when he barely had any free time recently.

As he read his book, the thought of eventually retiring from his role as the deputy of the ABPD came to his mind. He was already training his son to take over his position, and Ace seemed ready to take the role now.

Suddenly, he heard a weird sound somewhere above him. He couldn't describe it, it was almost like something cutting through the air. He then heard a soft crash, and looked up to see a grey husky hanging from the tree, seemingly stuck.

"Hello?" Chase greeted the husky, slightly confused to see them, and slightly annoyed that his peaceful reading was interrupted.

"Hey Chase...could you help me down?" The husky asked, not wanting to be stuck anymore. Chase was confused about how they knew his name for a moment, before he finally recognized who the husky was.

"Oh, hey Ned." Chase greeted him. He then examined how he was stuck and noticed a bunch of wires tangled around his legs, leading up to a parachute tangled in the tree branches above him. "Yeah, one moment, let me go get the tree rescue Dalmatian...and a ladder." Chase replied as he stood up. He then turned and headed toward the lookout to grab Marshall.

A couple minutes later...

Sierra was standing outside the lookout, watching as Marshall and Ryder helped Ned down from the tree. Snowflake was standing next to her, also watching while speaking with the husky next to her.

"So, how has it been going around here?" Snowflake asked, curious how it was at the lookout.

"It's been good here. Rescues have finally slowed down quite a bit. It seems like the emergency services around town have finally managed to take over most of the calls." Sierra replied. "How about you?"

"I've also been good. I recently had to rescue someone from a tree back in my hometown, somewhat similar to Ned's predicament." Snowflake replied as she glanced over to Ned, who was still stuck in the tree as Marshall struggled to free him from the wire.

The two huskies continued watching the scene until Marshall unwrapped the last wire holding Ned to the tree, causing the husky to crash down onto him.

"I guess I'm also a good trampoline." Marshall declared as he stood up before laughing, with many of the other pups joining in shortly after.

Sierra and Snowflake then headed inside the lookout, being greeted almost immediately by AL, who was sweeping around the lookout. Having borrowed Rocky's puppack to hold the broom with the claws that the puppack had.

"Hello Sierra. Hello Snowflake, welcome back to the lookout tower." AL greeted them, trying to be friendly. However, due to him being a robot, his voice was rather emotionless.

"Hey AL." Sierra responded. She then glanced to the Husky next to her, who was clearly thinking about something. AL soon joined her, looking at the husky and tilting his head.

"I never understood what AL does here when not on a mission, is he like the janitor of the lookout?" Snowflake asked, wondering what the robotic canines job was in the PAW Patrol.

"Pretty much. He helps occasionally when it's too dangerous for one of us to go, and I'll try to help guide him with the drone, but he mostly just wonders around the lookout and makes sure it's spotless. He is very meticulous when it comes to keeping the lookout in order." Sierra replied, explaining AL's daily routine.

Snowflake stood there and listened as Sierra spoke, while glancing over at AL, who was still just standing still like a statue. However, they were soon distracted by Ned and Marshall walking inside, with Ryder following behind.

"It took you two quite a while to get him out of that tree." Sierra pointed out. Marshall sighed and gave Ryder the ladder as he walked over to the husky.

"Yeah, I know. The parachute cords were tied up in such a way that was fairly difficult to undo, but we got him free." Marshall said, pulling Ned over to him and smiling.

"Why didn't you just cut the cord? The parachute isn't reusable anyway, and the cord was thin enough for you to cut through with even your claws probably." Sierra asked, wondering why the firepup didn't choose the simplest option.

"I didn't think of that..." Marshall replied, looking downward and thinking over his choice of untying the cord instead of just cutting it.

Of course you didn't. Sierra thought to herself as she rolled her eyes. She then smiled, trying to be friendly around Snowflake, and turned to the two huskies that decided to visit them.

"So, what is it that you two want to do?" Sierra asked them. Snowflake and Ned shared a glance with one another before looking back at them.

"I'm not sure, what do you guys plan to do?" Snowflake asked, turning to the other pups, who had all gathered together in the main room.

"We were originally planning to just watch a movie for a hour or two before heading to bed, but we also didn't expect you two to visit today." Chase replied, explaining their original plans for the night.

"Sounds good." Snowflake said, happy with the idea. She then looked around the room, noticing that the couch was weirdly moved to the corned and the beanbags were set next to the wall, just as Ryder began walking to the elevator.

"Alright pups, I'm going to go ahead and get some sleep. Feel free to do whatever you want, as long as you all are asleep by midnight." Ryder told them before entering the elevator. The pups nodded to him before the elevator began taking him up.

They then began thinking of something to do, as they didn't want to just sit on the floor and watch movies for the next few hours. They wanted to do something else, but they couldn't figure out what, until Rubble suggested something they hadn't done in what felt like a year.

"Why don't we build a pillow fort? Y'know, like we did when we were pups." Rubble proposed, always up for building something, even if it was just made of pillows and bedsheets. The other pups all thought about it for a moment, before they decided.

"Suwe, sounds like it could be fun." Zuma said.

"I agree, definitely could be fun. I just hope it doesn't collapse on top of us this time." Rocky agreed.

"If someone actually builds the support structures correctly, it shouldn't." Sierra said. She didn't name anything in particular, but she was clearly referring to Rocky, who glared at her while the other pups collected all the stuff required to build the pillow fort from across the lookout.

Once all the pillows, bedsheets, and blankets had been collected and piled up in the main room, the pups began building the fort. Chase, Marshall, Ace, and Rubble all began constructing the walls, laying down pillow after pillow to act as supports for the walls. Once Marshall and Rubble finished with the wall supports, Chase and Ace grabbed a blanket and tossed it over the supports, creating one of the walls of the fortress.

As they continued with the other two walls, Sierra and Rocky were working on pillow supports to hold up the roof, while Snowflake and Ned got the blanket ready to lay down on the top. Once Sierra and Rocky were done, Sierra hopped down and began helping Snowflake and Ned. The three huskies then carefully laid the blanket on top, finishing the roof, just as Chase and Ace finished the last wall.

The pups all sat in a long line as they admired their work. Ace especially, as this was actually the first time he had ever built a pillow fort. Sierra noticed the shepherds expression, and silently asked him to meet her in the hallway while the other pups were distracted with the fort they had built. Sierra managed to slip out of the room undetected, but Zuma noticed Ace as he tried to exit. He didn't stop him however, as he really didn't care what the shepherd did, and allowed Ace to sneak off unseen, for the most part.

The shepherd then looked around upon entering the hallway, not immediately seeing the husky. Just a long, empty hallway with a couple open doorways near the end.

Where could she have gone? Ace asked himself as he walked down the hallway, peaking his head into the open rooms as he did. He couldn't find her anywhere, she had seemingly disappeared.

"Took you a while to get here." Sierra pointed out. Ace jumped and turned around, startled by her sudden appearance.

"I was looking for you everywhere, where were you?" Ace asked, confused about where she was. He had checked the open rooms, he was sure of it.

"Oh, I was behind you. I simply followed you down the hallway." Sierra replied, lightly giggling as she did.

"What? Ho- Y'know what, forget it, what did you need?" Ace asked, wanting to know why she asked him to meet her here in the first place.

"Oh, right. Why did you seem so excited when we finished the fort? You acted like this was the first time you've ever made one." Sierra asked, slightly joking at the end. Her giggling didn't last long though, as Ace just lowered his head and looked toward the ground. "Wait, this was your first time building one, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, we never really did stuff like this back in the Kriegshunde. The only entertaining thing we did to pass the time was stuff like...playing in the mud after it rained, or stacking some cans on a small hill and taking turns chucking rocks at them to knock them over." Ace replied, explaining the different things they did in the Kriegshunde when they were bored.

"Wow, that sounds...really boring to be honest." Sierra said, trying to be sympathetic with the shepherd pup.

"That's because it was. But it was better then being shot at, and it was a surprisingly good way to pass time." Ace responded, he then raised his head again and turned to the doorway. "Anyway, we should probably go back before the others notice we're not there."

"Yeah, you're right. Let's go." Sierra said as she stood up and began walking back to the main room. Ace followed behind, but paused for a moment and glancing back down the hall, thinking he heard something. He didn't see anything, so he decided to forget about it and continued walking.

Meanwhile, in the main room

Snowflake was lying down inside the fort, watching the movie that they put on through the one wall that they didn't build, because they planned to watch the movie from the comfort of the pillow fort. Ned was sitting next to her, busy speaking with Rocky and Zuma, who were currently interrogating him to find out why he and Snowflake took so long to visit.

Snowflake was too distracted on the movie to pay attention to her surroundings, and was caught off guard by Sierra jumping next to her.

"Oh, hey. Where did you go?" Snowflake asked, curious where she had disappeared to.

"What do you mean?" Sierra asked, trying to play dumb. After a moment of silence between the two huskies, Snowflake decided to just drop it, and continued watching the movie.

Ace then sat down beside Sierra and finally began watching the movie. Sierra wasn't very interested in the movie itself, as she wasn't much of a movie person, but she watched it nonetheless to make her friends happy. Eventually however, boredom won out, and she silently slipped away from the group, instead walking over to the German Shepherd and Dalmatian who were sitting against the back wall of the pillow fort, playing a game of Eins.

"Hey Chase, hey Marshall, you two also aren't interested in the movie I assume?" Sierra asked them. Chase looked up from the deck of cards in his paws toward her, as Marshall began drawing cards from the main deck.

"Hey Sierra. Nah, I'm alright with it, I'm just more interested in this." Chase replied as he took out a yellow seven from his deck and placed it down. Marshall groaned before giving Chase his cards, with Chase doing the same.

Sierra watched them play for a moment before she began getting bored of watching them play Eins, and decided to return to the others. Sierra managed to get back to her spot undetected, like she had never left in the first place, and continued watching the movie. She didn't get to watch it for very long however, as the screen then cut to black, and everything went dark.

"What the-" Chase said as he stood up and looked around, confused as to why the power suddenly shut off. Marshall tried to do the same, but tripped as he stood up and fell into the wall of the pillow fort, causing it to collapse.

Rocky and Zuma were both immediately covered in pillows from the support structure next to them collapsing onto them. Meanwhile, Snowflake, Ned, Sierra, and Ace were all covered by the blanket that acted as the roof, trapping them underneath.

"Sorry guys..." Marshall apologized as Chase went over and helped Rocky and Zuma out of their prison of pillows.

They then turned and watched as the four canines struggled underneath the blanket before Sierra finally poked her head out, clearly more then annoyed. She then climbed out and stomped over to Marshall, with Ace following behind, leaving Snowflake and Ned to continue struggling to escape.

"What happened? How hard is it to not destroy something for one day!?" Sierra asked, annoyed at the Dalmatian for his constant clumsiness.

"I said I was sorry! I didn't mean to..." Marshall replied as he backed away slowly. Sierra was about to continue, when Ace grabbed her by the shoulder, calming her down.

"It... It's fine Marshall." Sierra told him, not able to stay mad at the Dalmatian.

Meanwhile, a couple meters away, Snowflake finally got free from the blanket that had fallen on top of her. She quickly looked around the room, and noticed Sierra clearly annoyed about something.

"What's going on? Why did the lights go out?" Snowflake asked, confused about the situation. Sierra and Ace turned around, and both noticed Ned still stuck. The two canines walked passed Snowflake to help Ned, leaving Chase to expain to her.

"We aren't sure. We just know the power has gone out. Be careful where you walk, and try not to bump into any walls until the power can be fixed." Chase replied before he turned and began walking over to Skye and Rubble.

Once Sierra and Ace freed Ned from the blanket, Sierra went over to Snowflake, while Ace stayed with Ned.

"Are you doing alright?" Sierra asked, concerned for her friend. Snowflake was a bit startled by her sudden appearance, but upon seeing it was just Sierra, she calmed down.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Snowflake replied. Sierra wasn't fully buying it, but she decided not to push further.

"So, what do we do now? We can't watch the movie now that the power is out, and it's going to be very difficult to play cards with eight people." Sierra asked, wondering what they would do to pass the time.

"We could play hide and seek." Rubble proposed.

"And where would we hide? The lookout isn't that big, we'd find everyone in a couple minutes at most. Wouldn't exactly be very fun." Marshall pointed out.

"We could tell scary stories. It'd be fairly interesting and the darkness would only help make the stories scarier. Plus, I'm always a fan of scary stories." Rocky proposed.

"Good idea Rocky." Chase said, loving the idea. He then addressed all the pups, and asked for a vote on the idea. The idea easily won a majority, and Chase decided to go first as the other pups all sat in the circle around the location where the pillow fort used to stand.

As Chase began telling a story he just made up, Sierra was already getting bored again. She wasn't a big fan of telling stories, scary or not, and she hated just sitting around doing nothing. She decided she was going to sneak away once again and find something to do, but she also wanted someone to go with her. Sierra looked around for Ace, who she wanted specifically to hang out with. She soon saw him standing right next to Chase, a couple meters away.

Great, everyone is staring directly at Chase. Getting Ace to sneak away is going to be impossible. Sierra thought to herself, knowing that it'd be pointless to even try with everyone staring in his direction.

She then looked around for someone else, and noticed Snowflake, sitting in the opposite direction that everyone was looking at. The snow-white husky then snuck over to her and got her attention fairly easily, while being careful not to attract the attention of anyone else.

"Hey, Snow, follow me." Sierra whispered to the husky before sneaking away from the group and making her way to the hallway.

Snowflake glanced over at her, then turned to the other pups, who were still distracted listening to Chase's story. She waited a moment before following Sierra, undetected.

"Hey Sierra. What is it?" Snowflake asked, wondering why she wanted her to follow her.

"Be honest Snow. You also don't want to sit around in one spot all night, listening to people speak random nonsense." Sierra replied, assuming that Snowflake also didn't want to sit around doing nothing.

"I mean, I'd prefer to do something else, but I'm alright with it." Snowflake told her. Sierra clearly wasn't expecting this response, but she quickly moved on to her idea.

"Oh, well...anyway, I have an idea to pass the time. Why don't we dress up as ghost pups and try to scare the others?" Sierra asked, happily explaining her idea to her.

"But there's no light. Wouldn't we be ghosts in pitch black rooms? We wouldn't see anyone, and nobody would see us!" Snowflake pointed out, worried.

"The pup tags give off a slight glow. I'm sure they'll give off enough light to allow them to see us, and don't worry, I have a way for us to see. Besides, us screaming 'Boo!' at them from the darkness would definitely startle them, even if they can't see us." Sierra replied, lightly laughing but trying to keep her voice down so that the other pups don't hear them.

Snowflake thought about her idea for a moment. She loved pretending to be a ghost, and she was also interested in how Sierra would let them see in the dark.

"Alright then, I'm in. Let's do it!" Snowflake said, ready to pretend to be a ghost.

Sierra then whispered to Snowflake to follow her, before leading her to the elevator. As the elevator began descending to the basement, Sierra silently thanked Ryder for deciding to make the elevator completely silent. Once they were halfway down however, Snowflake suddenly remembered that the power was out.

"Hey, Sierra, how is the elevator working if the power is out?" Snowflake asked, confused as to why the elevator still worked.

"There's a backup generator in the garage. It powers the elevator and the automatic doors that lead outside. Y'know, just in case there's a fire or something, and we need to leave the building. If the fire cuts out the power, we don't want to be stuck inside. It also powers the main monitor on the top floor, but it doesn't power the lights, the tv, or anything else." Sierra replied, explaining the backup generator to her.

"Huh, interesting." Snowflake muttered as the elevator reached the basement.

The two huskies quickly hopped out the elevator and began making their way down the hall, being very careful not to make any noise as to not alert the pups upstairs to them being missing. Once they made it most of the way down the hall, Sierra led Snowflake to a door with her puptag symbol on it, before she took off her collar and held it up to a small screen on the wall next to it.

Sierra stood there, holding her puptag in front of the small screen for a moment, before she remembered.

"Oh, right, the power's out..." Sierra said outloud, realizing that the normal method to open the door wouldn't work. She then stood up and turned to Snowflake. "I'll be right back." Sierra told her before walking back toward the elevator.

Snowflake sat there, waiting for Sierra to return when she decided to examine the small screen next to the door. It looked a lot like a key card scanner, but had a logo that matched Sierra's puptag on it, and a glowing red bar above it, probably powered by the backup generator. She then looked at the other doors in the hall, and saw the other small screens, all with different logos that matched the different puptags of the PAW Patrol.

She then heard footsteps approaching, and turned to see Sierra appearing from the darkness of the hall, with a key in paw. Sierra walked back to the door she failed to open with her puptag and unlocked it with the key, before pushing the door open. Snowflake then followed her

"So, what is it that you have that'll let us see in the dark?" Snowflake asked, expecting her to have night vision goggles, or something of that sort.

"These." Sierra replied as she pulled out two flashlights from a small closet next to the door. Snowflake stood there for a moment before taking the flashlight from her.

"Oh, for some reason I kind of expected something much more...advanced?" Snowflake said while lightly laughing.

"Well, you expected wrong. Why build something super complicated when there's already something simple that works." Sierra said jokingly to her.

Sierra then grabbed two bed sheets from the closet and a pair of scissors, before placing them on a nearby table and beginning to cut two holes into each of them so they could see where they were walking. Meanwhile, Snowflake decided to look around at the many different blueprints that Sierra had lying around her room.

Some of them were boring, just some tools or minor modifications to some of the puppacks to increase efficiency. But some of them were extremely interesting, like a full upgrade to AL to make him more useful during a mission. Specifically, allowing the pups to remotely control him using visors built into their helmets, much like how Rocky can take control of the drone if Sierra loses connection to it.

With this upgrade, came a load of designs for new helmets for the other pups. All with built in visors to control not only the drone, but AL as well if need be. Snowflake read through all the blueprints, very impressed with the technology in it. Sierra soon finshed making the ghost pups outfit, and turned to Snowflake before asking her something.

"So, what do you think?" Sierra asked while holding the costumes. Snowflake quickly raised her head and turned to see them, then stood there staring at her for a moment before replying.

"I mean, they're bed sheets." Snowflake replied, not exactly understanding why she sounded so proud of them.

Sierra tilted her head and frowned at the husky, before dropping one of them back onto the table and putting on one of the costumes to show her. She then turned back to Snowflake and just shared at her. The face of the costume had two large holes cut out for the eyes, and a long line cut out perfectly to the shape of their mouths, so they could show their teeth to scare them more, if the simple yelling 'boo' didn't work.

"It looks good...I guess?" Snowflake said, still not understanding why she was so proud of them. She could see Sierra roll her eyes under the costume before she picked up the other costume and tossed it to her.

"Alright, well, meet me back at the elevator after you get it on. And don't forget your flashlight! You'll need to be able to see so you don't accidentally walk into a wall or something." Sierra told her before leaving the room and disappearing down the hall. Snowflake quickly threw the costume on before chasing after her, ready to scare the other.

Sierra got onto the elevator, with Snowflake joining her soon, and the two huskies began raising to the main floor. Both of them cloaked in the costumes and trying to hold their laughter to stay quiet so the others didn't hear them. The elevator then arrived at the first floor of the lookout, and the two huskies hopped off. They were walking down the hallway, back to the main room, when they saw AL up ahead, wearing Rocky's puppack, sweeping the floor.

AL glanced up at the huskies, noticing that the two canines were wearing weird, bright white costumes, with a couple holes cut into them. He was very confused for a moment, and was thinking about saying something. But he decided to just stay quiet and continue sweeping.

Sierra and Snowflake breathed a sigh of relief, counting themselves lucky that AL didn't say anything as the others would've definitely heard him had he did.

"How did he see us? It's borderline pitch black in here." Snowflake asked, wondering how he knew exactly where they were, despite the darkness of the lookout.

"He has a night vision feature that allows him to see perfectly. I honestly forgot that he had that, that's my fault." Sierra replied.

They then continued walking back to the main room, being much more careful this time. They soon finally returned, immediately seeing everyone still in a circle around Chase, now with candles lit to provide at least some light. They didn't extend very far, so Sierra and Snowflake were still confident that they could scare the pups effectively. They knew that they'd probably have to separate the pups somehow, but they didn't know how, so they decided to try to scare them stealthily, one at a time.

"How do you want to do this? And who are we scaring first?" Snowflake asked as she watched the other pups from a distance. They were far enough away where they were sure the pups couldn't see them, but they were still being careful.

"Let's just tap them on the back and jump away to start out, so they turn around and see no one there. It should work pretty well." Sierra replied, also watching the other pups. She then looked around at them, and decided that Marshall would be the easiest to pull it off, as no one was looking in his direction thanks to Chase being the focus. "Go for Marshall first." Sierra whispered to her.

Snowflake slowly and carefully snuck her way over to Marshall, making sure to stay out of range of the candle light. She then slowly entered the candle light and approached Marshall, before tapping him on the shoulder and jumping far back into the darkness.

Marshall quickly turned around, and was immediately confused upon seeing nothing behind him but darkness. Chase noticed this and paused his story, which caused the other pups to all turn to Marshall.

"What is it Marshall?" Chase asked, wondering what was bothering the Dalmatian.

"I felt like something just tapped me, but there's nothing there." Marshall replied as he slowly turned back to Chase, occasionally glancing back to the darkness behind him.

Snowflake quickly returned to Sierra and the two huskies watched as the pups all looked around for a moment, before they decided to just forget about it. Chase then continued his story as Sierra and Snowflake giggled and began plotting to do the same thing again. They decided to try and spook Skye now instead, as Marshall was clearly too observant of his surroundings now for them to get away with it.

Sierra decided to do it this time, and carefully snuck over to Skye as Snowflake watched. Skye was much closer to Chase then Marshall was, so it'd be hard to do it undetected. Nonetheless, Sierra slowly approached her when Chase turned away from her and tapped her on the shoulder as well before jumping back into the darkness.

"What the-" Skye said as she quickly turned to look behind her, but saw nothing but darkness, just like Marshall had. Chase paused his story again and turned to her, confused.

"What Skye?" Chase asked, wondering what she was looking at. Skye turned to him with a look of confusion as she rasied her paw and pointed behind her.

"Something was behind me. I saw a slight tint of white for a moment when I turned around after I felt something touch me." Skye replied, still confused.

Chase then stood up fully and looked around, while Sierra returned to Snowflake. The two continued watching the pups as they slowly backed up further, wanting to stay undetected still.

"What's going on? First Marshall, now Skye." Chase pointed out, still looking around at the area that the light from the candles covered.

"Hey guys, whewe's Siewwa?" Zuma asked, finally noticing that Sierra was missing. Everyone looked around at one another, then Ned spoke.

"Where's Snowflake?" Ned asked as he noticed his sister was also missing. The pups continued speaking, but Sierra and Snowflake couldn't hear them anymore as they were borderline whispering now.

"That's not good. They noticed that we're not there anymore." Snowflake whispered to the husky next to her as she backed up into the wall behind her.

"Oh, ya think?" Sierra whispered back sarcastically. Also backing up into the wall, the two huskies then tried to hide behind a beanbag chair next to them.

The pups were all still talking in the middle of the room, while Chase picked up a candle and separated from them, then went over to a nearby closet. He opened it and began searching for something as the other pups watched him, and after a couple minutes, he seemingly found what he was looking for as he pulled out four flashlights. Chase then returned to the group and handed a flashlight to Skye, Ace, and Zuma.

"We had flashlights the whole time and you didn't get them soonew?" Zuma asked as the shepherd handed him one.

"I knew we had them somewhere, I just didn't know exactly where they were." Chase replied as he turned the flashlight he was holding on.

Sierra quickly hid further behind the beanbag chair, trying to watch the other pups but also trying to stay hidden from them. Snowflake peaked over the beanbag chair for a moment, but quickly lowered her head back down as everyone else turned on their flashlights and separated into groups of two.

"That was close." Snowflake whispered, relieved that they didn't see her. Sierra didn't respond and stayed silent, clearly thinking of something as she watched them. Snowflake turned to her, wondering why she was so silent. "Why are you so quiet?" Snowflake asked her.

"Trying to think." Sierra replied, still clearly thinking about something. Why would they separate from each other? It doesn't makes sense. I mean, I won't complain, it makes it easier. Sierra thought to herself before looking back up at the other pups.

"What are they doing?" Snowflake asked. Sierra turned to her and thought about it for a moment before responding.

"They're separating into two person groups. It isn't necessary a bad thing, it'll make it easier to scare them." Sierra replied, peaking around the beanbag again and watching as they left the main room.

One-by-one, the pups all left the main room as they held their flashlight, and soon, Marshall and Chase were the last two in the room. After searching around with the flashlights one more time, they began leaving, when Snowflake accidentally knocked over something, catching their attention. Sierra quickly hid behind the beanbag once again as Chase aimed the flashlight in her direction. He didn't see anything however, so after a few seconds, he continued on his way, with Marshall following behind.

"You need to be more careful. They almost caught us!" Sierra told her, emphasizing how close Chase was to seeing them.

"Sorry." Snowflake apologized as she stood back up, the two looked around the room, and after seeing that the coast was clear, they finally came out of hiding.

The two huskies then slowly made their way to the hallway, planning to follow the pups and wait until the perfect time to jump out at them.

"Where did they go?" Snowflake asked as they traveled down the hallway. Sierra didn't respond to her question, instead continuing to walk in silence.

They eventually ended up in the kitchen and immediately saw two flashlights being waved around. They immediately hid behind a nearby wall to stay hidden, but Sierra was curious about who they were, and peaked around the corner.

"So, smawt guy, do you have any idea whewe those two could've gone?" Zuma asked, not noticing that he was being watched from a distance.

"Sierra is likely just hiding in her room, and we probably should leave her be. Afterall, she never liked the dark. Snowflake though? She could be anywhere." Rocky replied, shining the flashlight around the room looking for her.

"Yeah, pwobably. But should we at least send Ace to go check on hew? Y'know, just in case?" Zuma asked, wanting to make sure she was alright.

Sierra quickly hid behind the wall again, then turned to Snowflake, who didn't hear the conversation Zuma and Rocky had.

"It's Rocky and Zuma. Let me scare these two though, you go look for Ace and Ned and I'll join you soon." Sierra told her. Snowflake gave her a confused expression before shrugging and quickly trotting away.

Sierra then turned back to the Labrador and mixed breed, and watched then for a moment before slowly sneaking into the kitchen. Rocky and Zuma were busy having a conversation, and didn't notice the husky sneaking around a couple meters away from them. Sierra then quickly jumped under the table, but moved one of the chairs in the process. The screeching of the chair sliding on the floor caught Zuma's attention, and he aimed his flashlight at the chair, then began investigating for the cause.

Sierra watched them from underneath the table, luckily hidden from view thanks to the table cloth. Zuma didn't think to look under the table, and he didn't see anyone else in the kitchen, or immediately outside the kitchen, so he just returned to Rocky and continued their conversation. Sierra then slid out from underneath the table and jumped at them.

"Boo!" Sierra yelled as she landed next to them. Zuma leaped backward, startled from the loud noise. While Rocky just turned to her and froze in place.

Zuma then stood back up and shined the flashlight at her, as Sierra began to giggle like she had gone insane.

"Okay, it's just you. Gawd!" Zuma said, breathing a sigh of relief. He then joined in the laughter, and soon, Rocky managed to unfreeze himself and finally speak.

"Hey Sierra. Do you have any clue where Snowflake is?" Rocky asked, curious about where the husky went.

"She's currently looking for Ace and Ned. Say, do you two know where they are?" Sierra asked them, also wanting to know where they were.

Zuma then leaned over to Rocky and whispered something to him that Sierra couldn't hear, but it made both of them chuckle. Zuma then turned back to Sierra.

"Yeah, they're down the hall. Here, follow me." Zuma replied as he walked past Sierra, with Rocky following behind. Sierra then began following, hoping to reunite with her other friends.

Meanwhile, a couple rooms away...

Snowflake was sneaking throughout the ground floor of the lookout, searching for Ace like Sierra told her to do, when she finally heard speaking. She slowly began approaching the sound, when she saw the beam of a flashlight in the distance. Snowflake quicklu hid behind the nearest object as Ace and Ned came out from around the corner, also searching around.

"I don't get it. She wasn't in the main room, she isn't in the hallways. Where could she be?" Ned asked, wondering where his sister could've possibly gone.

"Not sure. The lookout isn't that big however, and I doubt she went outside in the dark. Maybe she's in the basement, or the observatory." Ace replied, proposing the areas of the lookout she could be at that they haven't checked yet.

They didn't see Snowflake hiding as they walked past her, which Snowflake counted as lucky, as her bright white costume wasn't exactly helping her with being stealthy. She then got out of hiding and began following behind them, being very careful as to stay quiet.

Ace and Ned were both distracted looking ahead, so they didn't notice the ghost husky following behind them. This allowed Snowflake to get very close to them while staying undetected. However, once she was within a meter of them, Ace stopped moving and held his paw in front of Ned to stop him as well. He could sense someone nearby, and Snowflake decided to take her chance of scaring them while she could.

"Boo!" Snowflake yelled as she jumped toward them, landing right next to them.

Snowflake expected them both to be terrified, but while Ned seemed to be startled from her suddenly jumping out at them, Ace's instinct from his training kicked in. He quickly jumped in front of Ned, slightly pushing him away, and got in-between the costumed pup and Ned. Suddenly however, someone grabbed Ace's collar and pulled him back a little.

"Relax Ace, it's just us. Everything's fine." The person said to him. Ace turned his head to see who it was, and saw Sierra standing next to him, which seemed to bring him back to reality.

"Is he okay?" Snowflake asked, a bit surprised by what just happened. As well as confused.

"Yeah, it was just his old training kicking in. There was a reason I told you to wait for me, because Ace doesn't react well to sudden loud noises and movements like that." Sierra replied, still holding her paw on Ace to calm him down.

Snowflake then looked past Sierra and saw Zuma and Rocky poking their heads around the corner, watching them from the safety of behind a wall. Upon her noticing them, the two canines came out of hiding and began walking over to them.

"Hey dudes." Zuma greeted them as they approached. Ace and Ned turned to them upon hearing him, slightly surprised by their sudden presence as well.

"Hey Zuma. Did you know about the...ghost pups, running around?" Ace asked, wondering why they weren't more surprised by the two huskies dressed up as ghosts next to them.

"Oh yeah, Siewwa jumpscawed us back in the kitchen. In fact, I'm almost suwe Wocky had a small panic attack from it." Zuma replied as he gave Rocky a side glance. Rocky glared back at him in response, which made Zuma chuckle.

"So, do any of you know where Chase and Marshall are?" Sierra asked them, curious about where the Shepherd and Dalmatian went as she hadn't seen them since they all separated.

"Nope." Ace replied, having no clue where his father currently was, as he had decided to go with Ned, leaving Marshall to go with Chase.

"Not at all." Ned replied, not knowing where Chase was either.

"I don't know whewe Chase is. But I know whewe Mawshall is, and those two wewe twaveling togethew as faw as I know." Zuma replied.

"We know that. Where is Marshall?" Sierra asked, rolling her eyes at first before asking where the firepup was.

"I saw him going towawd the laundwy room eawliew, and it's safe to say he pwobably hasn't left it. Honestly, knowing Mawshall, he pwobably got stuck somehow." Zuma replied, making fun of how clumsy the firepup was.

"Yeah, probably." Sierra agreed before turning to Snowflake. "C'mon Snow, let's go." Sierra told her before heading for the laundry room down the hall, with Snowflake following behind. She didn't notice Ace calling someone with his puptag.

The other four pups all shared a glance at one another before Zuma tried to follow the two huskies. He didn't get far though, as Sierra heard his footsteps and quickly turned around and stopped him.

"You guys stay here, we don't want you ruining this." Sierra told them. Her and Snowflake then continued walking, leaving the other pups behind. They still followed from a distance however, far enough away that the huskies couldn't hear them.

The two huskies soon reached the laundry room, and immediately saw Marshall looking around, likely searching for her and Snowflake. But Chase wasn't anywhere to be seen. Despite this, she and Snowflake began slowly sneaking toward the Dalmatian, and quickly hid when he turned toward their direction. Marshall seemed to be a lot more observant of his surroundings than normal, but nonetheless, her and Snowflake kept sneaking closer and closer, until they were close enough to jump.

The two huskies then hid one more time, and stared at one another as Marshall looked around, unaware of their presence. Sierra raised one of her paws and silently counted down from three with her claws. Once she hit zero, the two huskies jumped out of their hiding spots toward the Dalmatian.

"Boo!!" The two huskies yelled at they jumped out at Marshall. Marshall flew back toward the wall, startled by their sudden appearance. The two huskies both laughed together afterward for a few moments, but it was short-lived.

"Grrr!" They heard a loud growl behind them. The sound scared both the huskies, but they then heard a low laugh as they turned to see Chase, standing in the middle of the room.

"Wha- How did you?" Sierra asked, confused about not only where the shepherd was, but also how he knew they were there.

"Ace called ahead and informed me of your shenanigans. Also, did you really think we wouldn't be suspicious of your sudden disappearance?" Chase replied, glancing over to the door and seeing the other pups poking their heads through the doorway.

"Ace! You snitch!" Sierra yelled to him. Ace giggled as he fully entered the room, satisfied at his little act of revenge against them. The other pups all followed him in, also entertained by the revenge Chase had gotten for them.

Once everyone calmed down and stopped laughing at them, Snowflake then realized something. Where was Skye? Snowflake thought to herself, realizing that they hadn't scared her nor Rubble yet, and they had to be somewhere at the lookout still.

"Hey, dudes, whewe are Skye and Wubble?" Zuma asked, also curious about where the two were. The pups looked around, just noticing that neither of them were present, when Chase spoke up.

"They're both still looking for you two. They volunteered to check outside, just incase you two went out there." Chase replied, raising his paw and pointing toward the doorway as he spoke.

"Should we go spook them as well?" Snowflake asked, happy to finish what they started. Sierra however, had other ideas.

"Actually, I have something else in mind. Meet me at the door, I need to go grab a few things!" Sierra replied as she quickly rushed into the hallway and toward the elevator, leaving the other pups behind, confused. They all shared a look with each other before deciding to do as she said.

The pups then stood up and went over to the main doors of the lookout, curious about what Sierra went to get. It took a couple minutes, as Sierra was seemingly taking awhile to find everything, but she eventually returned, with her drone, Rocky's helmet, and another ghost pup costume in tow.

"Uhh, Sierra? Why do you have the drone?" Rocky asked, wondering what she was planning.

"You'll see, give me a moment!" Sierra replied as she set the drone down a couple meters from the door. She then tossed the ghost pup costume onto it and began fitting it onto the drone, before getting a pair of scissors and cutting out the sections of the costume that blocked the propellers. Once she was done, she backed up from the drone and put on the helmet she had borrowed from Rocky.

"Are you done? Because I still don't see what you're doing." Rocky asked, still wondering what she was planning. Sierra then rolled her eyes under the helmet, not that the other pups could see through the helmet's visor.

"Fine, I'll explain. As some of you could probably tell, I have dressed up the drone as a ghost. Instead of us scaring them, I'll fly the drone around and pretend it's a ghost flying through the air, and hopefully frighten them." Sierra replied, explaining her plan to them.

I'm not sure if it'll work on Skye, as she's pretty clever, but Rubble will most definitely be scared by it. Sierra thought to herself, doubting her ability to scare the Cockapoo.

"So, what do I do?" Snowflake asked, wanting to be involved somehow.

"You can...I don't know, make ghost noises? Maybe you could help scare Skye, just in case the drone doesn't fool her." Sierra replied. She then pressed a button on the helmet, causing the visor to turn opaque.

At the same time that the visor turned opaque, the drone turned on, and after a moment of Sierra waving one of her paws around, the drone began raising, before flying out through the doors. The pups watched it fly for a bit, before following behind it as it flew around outside the lookout, looking for Skye and Rubble. Eventually, Sierra saw Skye and Rubble in the distance through the drone camera, searching the outskirts of the forest for the huskies.

Meanwhile, with Skye and Rubble

"Where could they possibly be?" Skye asked as she searched through the bushes for them. She had cleared most of the area, and was beginning to think that they could've ran into the woods, especially since the other pups hadn't called her, which she was sure they would've if they found them.

Rubble didn't respond, instead, he continued looking around in the same spots they had already cleared. Skye soon cleared the last few bushes on the outskirts of the forest, and she didn't want to search through the forest alone, so she grabbed her puptag and called Chase, silently hoping that he and Marshall had found them.

"Hey, Chase, you there?" Skye asked the shepherd. She didn't get a response however, as Chase was staying quiet on the other end as he watched the ghost-costumed drone approach them from a distance.

Skye assumed that the connection was just horrible though, as she heard a buzzing noise that she thought was coming from the puptag. She wasn't aware of the drone that was flying around behind her. She then heard some rustling in the bushes she had just checked a few minutes ago, and spun her head toward the direction of the sound. She was about to investigate it when she heard Rubble speaking.

"g-g-g-gho-" Rubble stuttered as he backed away from the costumed drone, not noticing the spinning propellers that allowed it to fly.

Skye turned to see what was going on, and saw the ghost seemingly flying around Rubble. She almost immediately noticed the propellers however, and rolled her eyes, knowing that it was Sierra trying to scare them.

"Rubble, it's just a dron-"

"Boo!" Snowflake yelled as she jumped out of the bushes toward the Cockapoo. Skye flew backwards, startled by her sudden appearance.

Snowflake began giggling while Skye laid there, looking up at her. She then calmed herself and stood up, now annoyed, but also relieved to see the husky safe. She then saw the drone slowly descend to the ground before shutting off completely, followed by a lot of footsteps approaching them. Skye turned and saw the pups walking over to them, half of them losing their minds.

"So that's why you two disappeared." Skye said, realizing the reason that they suddenly disappeared. She then realized that they were still missing someone. "Where's Sierra?"

"Over here!" Sierra yelled over to her as she trotted across the field toward them. Her and Snowflake were both still wearing the ghost costumes, which made it obvious who was running around scaring everyone.

"So you two just went around, dressed as ghost, scaring everyone in the dark?" Skye asked the two huskies.

Sierra and Snowflake both had wide smiles on their face as they replied. "Maybe."

"You two are such jokesters!" Skye said while rolling her eyes. The two huskies giggled in response, not denying her claim.

45 minutes later...

Ten pups sat in a circle in the main room, having returned to telling stories after the ghost pup shenanigans. They were beginning to get tired however, especially Sierra and Snowflake, who were both about to pass out after running around the whole lookout scaring the others. Chase soon finished telling his story, and was about to give his flashlight to Marshall for him to tell a story, but then Zuma raised his paw.

"I'm going to go lie down. I'm so dawn tiwed." Zuma told them, yawning before standing up.

"Me too." Rocky said as he also stood up.

"Yeah, it's what? 11 o'clock? I agree, it's time to end the night." Ace said, agreeing that it was time to get some sleep.

They then heard snoring as they all looked over and saw Rubble already asleep. Chase then finally stood up and decided that they were right, it was time for them all to go to sleep. Most of the pups began heading toward the elevator, while Snowflake went over to one of the beanbag chairs and laid down on it, ready to get some sleep before returning home in the morning. Meanwhile, Ned decided to take the couch.

"You two alright with sleeping up here?" Sierra asked them, wanting to make sure they were comfortable before she joined the other pups in the elevator.

"Yeah, it's a lot more comfortable than you would think." Snowflake replied, opening one of her eyes and looking over at Sierra.

"Okay, what about you Ned, you alright over there?" Sierra asked, glancing over at the husky that was lying down on the couch.

Ned raised his head to look over the couch. "Yeah, I'm fine over here." Ned replied.

"Okay then, goodnight you two." Sierra said as she trotted over to the elevator, leaving the two huskies to let them sleep.

"Goodnight." Snowflake muttered before drifting off, Ned also fell asleep not too long after.

The elevator then took the other 8 pups down to the basement, where all their rooms were, and stopped at the bottom to let them out.

As Sierra walked down the hall, ready to finally get some sleep, she glanced over at the pups entering their respective rooms. She was proud of herself for managing to sneak up on them, even if Chase managed to outsmart her and Snowflake. She then arrived at her room and opened the door.

Today was another great day. Sierra thought to herself as she laid down. She then turned over and stared at the drone that was sitting on a table against the wall.

Skye was able to almost immediately identify the drone due to the propellers. Would it be possible to hide the propellers in some way? And still allow it to fly? Sierra asked herself, wondering if it was possible. She decided that she'd experiment with the idea the next day and rolled over, falling asleep shortly after.
