"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."

Boruto stands in the kitchen with his mother while his wife and kids watch TV in the living room; he watches his mother wash dishes, a sadness filling his heart. He thinks to himself that his dad should be in here too, helping Hinata wash dishes, laughing and enjoying time with his family.

But as he stands there his mind drifting back to reality, he sees his mother all alone, the same look on her face that she has wore since he was old enough to recognize it.

Loneliness.

Boruto walks over towards her, " Lemme help, Ma."

"It's okay, honey, go watch TV with the kids. I won't be too long." Hinata gives Boruto a small smile as she holds up the last two dishes for emphasis.

He looks down , sadness feeling his heart and shakes his head, "Ma, why do you stay with him?"

He doesn't look up even when he feels Hinata's eyes move over him.

A tense silence settles around them, Boruto twitches axiously under her gaze.

"Boruto, I know you're angry at your daddy and I know he ain't always been there. Sometimes, I feel angry myself, but I also knew what I was doin' when I told him I wanted to be with him. He told me long ago what happened and that he'd never be a good partner, but I was young and naive and I thought if we could be together that I could change him, that I could make him happy. But, he was the one who was right."

Boruto quickly glances up, his heart flutters slightly at her confession.

What? His dad told her he wouldn't be a good partner? And she chose him anyway?

"What do you mean, Ma? What do you mean you chose this? What even happened to make him like this?"

Hinata looks down at her hands, contemplating her next words.

"Honey, I don't like seein' ya so angry. I don't want ya to hold on to something that will consume ya and not let go like your daddy. It's not my story to tell, you should go talk to him and ask him these questions. I knew things would be hard but I wanted to be there for him. His past keeps him from the present, and he should be the one to tell ya what his past is." Hinata lifts her hand to Boruto's face and caresses his cheek fondly, a sadness in her eyes.

"Don't let the anger control ya. Go talk with your daddy and at least gain some answers ya can live with."

Boruto's eyes widen a fraction at the determined look on his mother's face, how can she be so calm about all this? Is his father's past so bad that he's allowed a pardon?

Boruto nods and watches Hinata go into the den, he listens to his kids talking to his mother; happy and excited, total ignorance of what's going on.

He looks towards the stairs in the hallway, should he actually go talk to his father? When he had gotten old enough and asked his mother what was wrong with his father, she always said the same thing, he's thinking about someone in his past. He eventually stopped asking and never even tried to question his father, he didn't feel comfortable enough to ask him. But now he's much older and has a family of his own; maybe, just maybe he might get some answers if he goes and finally asks him himself and maybe his mother is right about his anger.

Boruto can feel a rush of heat hit his face as the anger comes up at the mere thought of talking to him, but he wants real answers. However, he sure as hell can't go in there like this. He decides that if he is gonna finally talk to his father, he at least needs a drink first.

He goes over to the cabinet, the one he would see his father at often growing up, he opens it up and grabs a bottle of whiskey and a glass.

Naruto sits in his room holding another picture of him and Sasuke together; they are at a park, their arms slung around each other with big smiles on their faces.

He has the song All I Want by Kodaline playing softly in the background.

"Na, Sasuke, I wish ya could be here with me right now. Are ya lookin' down on me? Are you disappointed that I couldn't even abide to your last words to me? How was I supposed to be happy without ya, love?" Naruto strokes Sasuke's face on the picture.

"I really miss ya, moron." Naruto sighs and puts the picture back on his desk and then takes a sip of the whiskey in his glass.

"I'm an old man now, Sasuke. You really should be here with me, my love."

Naruto glances up to the door when he hears a knock, "Come in."

The door creaks open and to Naruto's surprise, it isn't Hinata at the door this time, but Boruto.

Naruto raises up in shock, "Hey son, is everything okay?"

Boruto doesn't say anything, just walks in, closes the door behind him and sits on the couch with a glass and the entire bottle of whiskey, he hears a song playing he's never heard before, the lyrics sound sad. Is his dad thinking about that person again?

"Boruto?"

Boruto lets out a sigh, he can't believe he is really about to do this.

"Dad."

Naruto watches him a bit concerned.

"I wanna know about what it is that has ya lost in your head all the time." Boruto finally looks at Naruto, eyes a bit glassy yet full of fire.

Naruto's eyes widen a fraction, what is Boruto talking about? He wants to know about Sasuke? About his past? I guess it's only natural considering how much he has ignored his family, but how will he talk about it when he hasn't spoken about it aloud to anyone since he barely became an adult? Can he even handle it? But for Boruto to ask him, he had to have found some kind of resolve, and he at least owes Boruto the truth.

Naruto finished off his drink and got up, when he got to the couch he reached for the bottle, Boruto hands it to him. Naruto sits next to Boruto and pours himself another glass and then leans to pour Boruto another. Naruto and Boruto both sip from their glasses.

"Okay" Naruto sighs, "I'll tell you everything."

Boruto's heart beat flutters, will he finally find out what destroyed his father and maybe get to know him a bit better too?

"I guess, Boruto, I'll start from the beginnin'. I was 17, a senior in highschool, I lived here in Eden, it was a small city in North Carolina like it is now. My mother died from cancer when I was 12, my daddy couldn't handle it, ended up drinkin' and not being around. I loved to dance and would practice at school cause my daddy hated it and wanted me to be a man and join the army. That's when I met someone who changed my life." Naruto sighs and takes another sip of his drink.

Boruto sits up in interest, he never knew any of this.

"That person I met was my first love, his name was Sasuke. He was the one person I could be myself around and share my secrets with and I knew his too; his secrets are what killed him."

Boruto's breath hitches, so his father was in love with a man and that man died. He takes a large sip of his drink, "I'm sorry."

Naruto quickly glances at Boruto a little surprised.

Boruto closes his eyes and let's out a long sigh, "Tell me everything, dad."

Naruto nods slowly, "Okay."

Naruto wakes in the morning to his alarm going off. He groans and looks at his clock, 7:30 in the fucking morning already and time for school.

Fuck.

It's the first day of his senior year; when he graduates his father expects him to join the Army like his grandfather and even though he is a big fan of guns, that's not what he wants to do in life. He doesn't have everything planned out already, but he knows he doesn't wanna go into the military.

Naruto shuts his alarm off and gets up out of bed, he lazily gets dressed in a pair of old faded blue jeans, white t-shirt and red plaid flannel and secretly packs some black basketball shorts and a black sleeveless shirt in his bag so that after school he can go to the ballet room and dance. If his father ever found out, he would beat his ass, literally. Minato wants his son to join the army, to be a 'man'. His father considers dancing to be something only women do, and so he forbids Naruto from doing it.

If his mother were still alive, she would support him, he was sure of that because she was the one who took him to lessons and enjoyed dancing herself, Naruto fell in love with dancing partly because it was something he could share and enjoy with his mother. But cancer took Kushina away from him when he was 12 and now he's alone with a drunk father who is never around.

He remembers what it was like spending time with his beautiful mother, he spent more of his time with her than anyone else, and he considered her to be his best friend. Kushina was a stay at home mom while Minato worked as a truck driver and during the times when his father was driving long haul, him and his mother would have so much fun together, they would stay up late and watch movies together, they would make the den into a little fort with tons of blankets and pillows and Kushina would make them all kinds of snacks and sometimes decorate the living room with Christmas lights as they would enjoy movie marathons. Sometimes she would crank up the music super loud, and they'd dance together, listening to the great tunes she grew up on.

Sometimes they'd go out driving for hours just talking and singing, or they'd camp out in the backyard in a tent. Those were some of the best times of his life and those were also the times when he had a good relationship with his father before he changed, when he'd be driving the short hauls he would also have movie nights with them on the weekends and go places together or play board games. But, then Kushina got diagnosed with ovarian cancer after she started feeling worse and worse each day, and they didn't catch it in time to help her, she lived only six more agonizing months after her diagnosis and her death crushed Naruto to his core and his father changed just about overnight when she died. He started drinking, he stopped going to work, he wouldn't take care of the house and even though they didn't have much money to begin with and had only a small one-story house in a bad neighborhood, it was still home but even that changed. One night when his father was drinking and driving he ended up in a bad car accident and ended up on disability and from then on he spent all his time drinking and beating Naruto and that's also when he forbade Naruto from dancing anymore.

Naruto withdrew into himself after his mother died; he lost his best friend and his father overnight, everything changed and all he has left of those times is his memories and some pictures. A large part of Naruto also died that same day.

Naruto sighs, walking out of his small bedroom into the dark, quiet house he calls home. It's been like this since his mother passed; he use to open his door to lights on in the house, curtains pulled back to allow the sunlight a pathway inside the house and the smell of food drifting from the kitchen where his parents would be in the mornings, laughing and talking.

Now, it's just an empty shell, his drunk father leaves the house a mess, liquor and beer bottles scattered all over the floor and furniture, along with other forms of trash. From the outside, the house looks like a normal home except for the overgrown, messy yard, but a house that would hold a normal family, however, once you step foot inside, you'd wonder why the city hasn't condemned the place yet.

He decides to skip breakfast and walks out the door to get to school. He doesn't have any close friends, but he does talk to a couple of guys he's been in school with since elementary school, Kiba and Chouji, but they only talk in school and Naruto never talks about his personal life. They are the literal definition of 'school friends', people he only talks to a bit at school and school only.

However, he wishes he could find someone he can connect with and hang out with often, someone to be his best friend, but he doesn't have much hope that will happen, because then they may want to come to his house, or get to know things about his life and that's not something he's quite ready to talk about.

It's not like amazing people just fall out of the sky anyway.

Movies and books aren't very realistic in how you meet people and make friends or fall in love and since his life isn't either of those then he's doomed to be alone forever, he may as well give up on the tiny bit of hope that still resides inside of him. Dreams don't actually come true.

Hell, he would be happy if he could connect with his own father, the kind of relationship a son is supposed to have with his father, but he's also supposed to have a mother too so what the fuck can you do? But, nonetheless, you don't get to choose your parents either so you have to deal with it.

He feels lonely, abandoned and pushed around, and he is so fucking exhausted, and he doesn't know how to fix it, he doesn't know if it can ever be fixed and hoping for a miracle is pointless and a waste of time.

Naruto sighs and shakes his head to rid himself of all these thoughts, he also wishes he had a car to drive, that would make things a great deal easier; maybe he should look for a job? Save up money and get a car? That would be great, but with his dad, he'd just steal his money anyway, he'd never get the car so maybe he should try for an apartment instead and just use his fucking bike.

He rubs his face roughly as he groans, wanting all these thoughts to go the fuck away as he continues his depressing, unenthusiastic walk to school.

xxx

Sasuke laid awake all night, unable to sleep due to his racing thoughts and the small ominous shadows bouncing around his room, maybe he shouldn't have stopped his medications three years ago cause his symptoms are driving him crazy, they did help in the beginning, but he also didn't like the way he felt, like he was the fucking walking dead but now he has something else he started that he likes better and that makes him feel oh so fucking good.

He gets up at the sound of his alarm, turning if off and heading for his dresser to get out some clothes to get ready for the day ahead.

Before dressing, he looks through his jewelry, should he change out any of his piercings? He looks in the mirror at the silver horse-shoe septum ring and silver stud cyber bites, they look fine, he sticks his tongue out showing a silver barbell; maybe he'll just change his tongue ring. He goes back to looking through his jewelry and finds one he likes, a rainbow titanium anodized 3-D dragon barbell tongue ring and changes his silver one for that then grabs a necklace with a dragon on it and one with a crystal and hangs both around his neck.

He throws on some baggy black jeans, a Korn t-shirt over the dragon tattoo on his back, and then he grabs his oversized black hoodie to bring with him. He picks up his green pill bottle filled with eight milligram dilaudid, sixty milligram oxycodone, fifteen milligram roxicodone and two milligram xanax bars, he squats down to his bottom drawer and pulls out his rolling tray with a card and a straw, he then sits fully on the floor instead of going back to his bed and pulls out three of the dilaudid, one of the oxys and two of the xanax bars, and he dry swallows the oxy and begins to crush the others with the top of his pill bottle. He grabs the card and makes four lines and uses the straw to snort each one, he lets out a quiet moan and then falls backwards onto the floor as he sniffs and rubs his nose and basks in the ecstasy of the chemicals sliding down his throat, there is no better feeling. He lays there dreading the day ahead, he hopes he won't be too nervous for this first day, he wishes he could skip the whole day all together but his father wouldn't let him do that. He sits up putting everything up and sticking the pill bottle in his pocket. He sighs and then forces himself up on his feet, guess it's time to get going.

He grabs his bag and heads down the stairs of his house, his father awake already and drinking a cup of coffee while reading the newspaper, breakfast already made. He sits down to eat a little when he notices his father made waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, one food he is unable to resist, then he grabs the syrup and pours a hefty amount on top of everything.

His father gives him a warm smile before going back to reading the paper.

Sasuke eats in silence while staring at the other two empty chairs where his mother, Mikoto, and brother, Itachi, should be sitting, but they died in a car accident when Sasuke was 12. However, when he was 11 he was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia, his mother was an alcoholic who had a hard life growing up, and she wasn't able to cope well and that's one thing that started her drinking real bad and using drugs, growing up he often walked in on her snorting pills, or she was drunk, very rarely did he see her sober as she cried for him and Itachi to forgive her and that she would stop. After Sasuke got diagnosed his mother couldn't cope with that either, she thought she had done something wrong and wanted to fix him, and she didn't wanna believe the doctors when they said there was no known cure for Schizophrenia, and so she broke her short sobriety and started drinking heavily.

His father, who is a truck driver usually drove the short haul and was home every night but when he was working, him and his brother were left in the care of their alcoholic, drug addicted mother who would end up sleeping all day or sitting in bed crying about her childhood pain, leaving Sasuke and Itachi to find ways of entertaining themselves, Itachi was three years older than Sasuke, but they always enjoyed playing together, they had a secret hideout in the woods where they could escape from their home and their mother. Itachi was always there for Sasuke, and he always ran to his big brother for comfort, Itachi would be the one to make him food and take care of him in place of their mother.

On the night of their death, Mikoto left Sasuke home alone while his father was working, and she went to pick up Itachi from basketball practice, she was driving drunk. When she picked up Itachi, he sat in the front seat and on her way home she ran off the road into a tree going sixty in a thirty-five, killing them both instantly. When Fugaku had arrived back at home, he found Sasuke all alone but not too long after arriving home did the police show up to tell them the news, he had to comfort a sobbing Sasuke begging for his mommy and brother all night.

Sasuke can remember all those times she was drunk and would pick them both up from school, scarring the fuck out of them both every time she swerved into the next lane or off of the road entirely and how many times she would have a bottle of Crown Royal in her hand when she'd be driving. Sasuke's nerves stayed tore up, and he was always stressed out which only served to increase his symptoms. When his mother and brother died he spent many nights crying and begging for them to come back, sometimes he would hear their voices in his head, some of those times they whispered nice things, and he could go to sleep listening to them, other times he spent the night crying and covering his ears because of the mean or scary things they would say, it took them a long time to find a medication that helped his symptoms, and he couldn't help but miss hearing their voices at night when the medication had taken them away.

Often, his parents would argue, over her drinking and drug abuse and how she always wanted to leave when she wasn't sober. Fugaku tried his best to keep the arguing where the kids couldn't see or hear it, but she never cared how loud she was or how drunk she was so Itachi and Sasuke could always hear them. He can remember Itachi coming over to his side of the bedroom they shared and trying to comfort him during their arguments or when Sasuke's symptoms were causing him problems, he really misses his big brother.

After their death Fugaku tried his best to take care of Sasuke and be there for him, he set his own grief aside to focus on Sasuke and now he can truly appreciate what his father did for him.

"Were ya able to get any sleep?"

Sasuke, startled from his thoughts, looks up to his father, "Um, it was okay."

"Did ya take your meds yet?" Fugaku asks taking another sip of his coffee.

Sasuke's heart speeds up at the question and he curses himself, "Yeah, ya know ya ain't always gotta ask."

He lied, and he has lied everyday to his father since he stopped. But, he can't tell him, he'd freak. However, that doesn't stop the guilty feeling that tugs at him for lying to the one person who actually cares for him.

"I know I know, but ya know I worry 'bout ya."

"Yeah, I know."

Fugaku nods, a small smile gracing his features, maybe he should give Sasuke a bit more space, he's a good kid who doesn't get into any trouble, and he should trust him. He has become a bit overprotective due to the death of his wife and oldest son and the diagnosis of his youngest. He put aside everything for Sasuke's benefit and doing everything he can to help him, he wants Sasuke to know he can rely on him and if that means backing off a bit, then he'll do that.

"I'm off then." Sasuke says once he finished his food.

"Have a good day, if ya need me just give me a call, alright? Love ya."

Sasuke nods, "Love ya too. Have a good day at work, make sure ya beat those bastards there."

Fugaku laughs and nods, "That's the goal."

Sasuke heads out the door, dreading the day ahead. Why does he even go to school? He doesn't have any friends, he doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks about him but there is a small part of him that feels anxious and insecure about people finding out about his diagnosis and drug use.

He's pretty content being alone, he always has been and enjoys his own company, however, he also can't help the feeling deep down inside of him wishing he had at least one person he could connect with and bare his soul too, but it's not that easy, he prefers not to speak to anyone and would rather read a book or plug his headphones in and drown out the whole world; a world that despises him as much as he despises it. He sees other people who smile so easily and don't fake it and plan dates with friends and partners, and they make it seem so easy and some actually seem happy, that will never happen to him.

He can't help but wonder if he'll ever find someone cool enough to care for him, even with his secrets.

Sasuke sighs, he really should give up the thought of that happening, could he really love someone more than his habit? Hell the first time he used he knew he was instantly in love and that he'd never quit.

Instead of thinking, he takes out his good ole' Sony Walkman MP3 and plugs his headphones in, letting the music drag him away from his thoughts.

When Naruto gets to school, he heads towards his first class of the day, World Literature. This is something he normally likes, learning about all these stories from everywhere, it's actually fascinating, but today is just one of those days when paying attention seems impossible.

In this first semester he doesn't have dance until the second but after school he likes to go in there and use the room anyway when it's only him, that way he can truly feel free and escape from his reality, if only for a moment. However, first he must survive the first semester.

He takes his seat as the teacher begins to speak - the teacher, Mrs. Bailey, is an older woman with brown hair that you can tell uses LOTS of hairspray, she draws her eyebrows on real thin and typically wears lots of brown clothes, she can also be kind of strict, but Naruto doesn't really talk much or cause much a disturbance anyway.

"Okay, so we just went over the Google Presentation for some of the major stories and activities will be workin' on throughout this semester. Since the last slide was over Dracula, that's what we'll be readin'."

Mrs. Bailey goes around handing out Dracula books and a handout for reading questions for chapter one and two.

"Be sure to write your names in the Dracula books. Also, those handouts are practice for the quiz on both chapter one and two tomorrow, so I hope y'all can be ready by then. Y'all will have an hour to read both chapters and answer the questions. Startin' now, go ahead."

Mrs. Bailey then proceeds to hit the timer with an audible click.

Naruto feels like trying to read this will be impossible, he can barely concentrate but his father will kick his ass if he fails anything, despite not caring about anything else in his life, so he grabs his pen and opens the book.

xxx

Sasuke sits in his first class, Human Biology, as the teacher rambles on and on about stuff Sasuke doesn't really care about - his mind is elsewhere, on the drugs he has in the bottle in his pocket. He can't wait to use again even though he had taken something that morning already but because of that need, he can't concentrate on anything but the drugs.

His father already talked with the school about his diagnosis and how he needs to carry around his pills just in case, so it doesn't look wierd if they notice a pill bottle outline in his pants or if he takes something, that's why Sasuke threw out all his antipsychotics and put his others in the same bottle, so that helps with concealing them.

When will this class hurry up and end anyway? He is running low and needs to get to Yu, so he can increase his supplies.

This need that plagues his brain makes every minute feel like an hour, sometimes that need is so strong that his whole body will shake, where he would sit on his bed and rock back and forth with need. Those thoughts of using never cease, the way the chemicals run down his throat when he snorts them and how he feels so much better when he takes them. One time when he didn't have hardly any money and couldn't buy what he needed, he went into withdrawal; that is a feeling he never wants to experience again because it is the absolute worst feeling. That's one reason he also carries around his pills with him just in case he needs to use, he has a travel kit in his backpack just in case as well. Because some days are harder than others to resist, and he also never wants to go back in withdrawal either, and you never know what could happen that could make it even longer to get home.

Gaining this tolerance and using so much, now the withdrawals come quicker when he doesn't use, and he'll make damn sure that never happens again.

xxx

As their first and second classes end, they both share the third, Japanese. Sasuke practically runs to the bathroom and makes it into the last stall before hearing someone else come in, and by the sound looks like they chose the first stall.

He curses, he'll have to be super quiet. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out a tray and a card from his wallet, he sets the tray on his lap and pulls his pill bottle from his pocket, he then stops to listen for any noise from the other guy in there with him.

He remembers one time when he was in school and needed to use, this was before he started bringing a kit and the reason why he started to begin with; he was desperate, he ended up putting the two pills on top of the box where the toilet paper is inside stall, he took the cellophane off his cigarette pack and laid that film over the pills, he then used his lighter to crush them up before rolling up a dollar he had to snort them.

When he realized what he had just done and how unclean that is, he went and bought a rolling tray, originally for weed, and developed a faster, simpler and less disgusting way to get the job done.

When he deems it safe, he pulls out four eight milligram dilaudid and three xanax bars and lays them on the tray.

He could just easily swallow them but snorting them is its own addiction, feeling it go up your nose and then the chemicals sliding down the back of your throat, they also kick in faster, but there is nothing like it. But, to compare it, it's like smoking a cigarette, even if you get past the nicotine addiction, the smoking habit takes longer to get rid of, that need to bring something to your lips, that's how Sasuke likes to describe it.

He starts with the dilaudid and uses the top of the bottle to crush them up as quietly as he can - once they are in a fine powder he uses his card to guide it into own two big lines.

His heart pumping with excitement, his hands shaking slightly as he opens his bottle to pull out his straw and closes the bottle again, so he doesn't loose anything.

He brings the tray up higher, he then checks which nostril is more clear and then with the same hand holding the straw holds the other nostril down and lines up the straw and then snorts all of it up and moves on to the next. He leans back with his eyes closed, allowing the powder to drain backwards; it's euphoria, better than an orgasm, really, it's better than anything.

Then he leans forward again to crush up the xanax and repeats the ritual, as he does, he sniffs and rubs his nose; then he leans all the way back against the toilet and stays there a bit, enjoying this gratifying feeling.

And while he is enjoying that, in the next stall over is Naruto.

"What the fuck is this guy doin'? i hear some kinda crunchin'? And it sounds like he's snortin' somethin'? I haven't heard this guy piss or even take a shit. I bet it's fuckin' drugs, but what a surprise in this school." He thinks sarcastically, "This ain't my first encounter with shit like this. Anyway, I need to get outta here quick and before he leaves that damn stall." Naruto finishes up and hurries out the door and to his assigned seat in Japanese.

While Sasuke was basking in the amazing feelings, he heard the other guy leave, so he was safe to leave too. The guy didn't come banging asking what he was doing, or made any weird sounds so maybe he was able to be quiet enough. Sasuke reaches in his backpack and pulls out some nose spray, xanax especially will clog up your nose or make it super runny, so he takes a couple hits before he packs up his things and moves towards the mirror to make sure he had no powdery residue left on his nose, he could feel the drugs beginning to kick in, his eyes felt a bit heavy and when he looks in the mirror, he can see the haziness in his eyes, that glassy look staring back at him and a smile creeps up on his face as the euphoria began to grow, his vision blurred slightly, and he felt so good, but he has to be careful, he can not let anyone know he's high, but when you feel that good and relaxed, it's hard to care at the same time.

Dilaudid makes you super talkative but hopefully he can keep his mouth shut for the whole day but who knows, he looks at himself in the mirror once more and smiles and lets out a chuckle.

After he left the bathroom, he put his hoodie on and pulled the hood on and tilts his head down as to not draw attention; he walks straight to his class and went straight to his assigned seat all the way in the back, but he has to sit next to this blond, spikey-headed dude that has been in school with him for a long time, but he can never remember his name.

"Hello everyone, my name is Aikawa Eri. You can address me as Aikawa-Sensei or just Sensei." She says writing her name in Japanese and English on the board.

"Okay!" She claps, excitement filling her smiling face.

"Before we start a Japanese language lesson, we will first dive into Japanese culture and customs first."

Sasuke yawns widely and wipes the tears trickling down his face that comes with it. His eyes feel so heavy and his nose is starting to itch.

"Yo, ya tired or somethin', or does this class bore ya?"

Surprised he was being spoken too, he turns slightly to the left to look at the blond who spoke to him.

"No, not really, I'm Japanese anyway so I'm ain't too worried about the class itself."

"Oh ya are? That's fuckin' cool, I'm right interested in it, so I figured I'd try it out but with the self study I've been doin', it's pretty fuckin' difficult, 'ssepically the grammar parts and the pronunciation a bit, my southern accent just gets in the way, ya know?" The blond smiles brightly.

Sasuke chuckles and then sniffs and scratches his itchy nose, "Well I grew up here, so I have the same accent but I can switch back and forth. Just keep practin' really."

"I'm Naruto by the way."

"Sasuke."

"Sasuke." Naruto tries it out.

Sasuke chuckles again, "Yeah, that's right."

Oh man, why is he talking to this guy? Right, the high you get from dilaudid makes you super talkative and then with the added xanax mixed in, he's super relaxed and not feeling a bit anxious to talk to him.

Naruto pouts his lips as he thinks about it before replying, "That's a right cool name. I like that."

"Thanks."

Sasuke goes back to thinking about how he needs to stop by Yu's place in LogTown to stock, he still has some money from his part-time job and the things he's sold recently, but unfortunately he has to go to his job tomorrow after school and will be out late which means he has to make that run today.

"Yo, what kinda things ya like to do?"

Sasuke turns back to the blond and ponders a moment, "Uh, I ride my skateboard, listen to music, play my bass guitar, I like to read, play video games and enjoy watchin' movies and shit. I don't really do a whole lotta stuff really."

"Oh cool! Ya like some of the same things I do."

"Like what?" He scratches his nose again.

Naruto blushes, "Well, um, I like to dance, but don't tell nobody that, please. I also like, ridin' my bike and hikin', video games, movies, and I definitely love music and I have several interests in like cars and guns and whatnot."

Sasuke raises his eyebrows, "Hmm, seems we do have a bit in common then."

Naruto smiles and Sasuke's heartbeat flutters, and he quickly glances down to the floor in surprise. So what if they have stuff in common, it's not like he could ever have a friend, or anything more.

"What kinda video games ya like, Sasuke?" Naruto whispers.

Sasuke looks at Naruto and then back to their Sensei to make sure it's still safe to talk, "Well, it's a long list but I'll tell ya a few; Metal Gear Solid, of course and Assassin's Creed, God of War, Tomb Raider, Beyond Two Souls, Stray, Judgement, Catherine, Persona and Resident Evil to name a few. What about you?"

"Oh wow, I love playing a lot of those ya mentioned but to add to your list; Life if Strange, Watch Dogs, A Plague Tale, Dishourned, Forspoken, Heavy Rain, Shin Megami Tensei, Mario, Yoshi and Kirby games too." He gives a wide smile after finishing.

Sasuke smiles back, "Seems ya have good taste."

"Do you ever play online with your friends? I've always wanted to do that myself."

Sasuke starts to frown, "No, I haven't. I really ain't got any friends to do nothin' with."

"Seriously? Ya seem like the kinda person who'd have friends but I get it, I don't have none myself." He offers a sad yet understanding smile.

Sasuke could say he is also surprised, this guy seems real friendly and interesting, and yet he also doesn't have any friends. His heart flutters again when the thought of befriending him pops into his mind, but there is no way, Naruto wouldn't wanna be friends with him anyway and even if he did, once he found out the truth, he'd leave.

Sasuke's thoughts are interrupted when Naruto began to nervously speak to him again, "Well, if ya ever wanna play online or anything, I'd be happy to join ya."

Naruto didn't make much eye contact when asking him and Sasuke was a bit happy for that because he was sure he might have been blushing, but he doesn't know what to say, he wants a friend, but he can feel the fear creeping up his spine at the thought of him finding out his best kept secrets and before he can reply the teacher speaks up.

"Boys, are y'all even payin' attention?" She looks between Naruto and Sasuke suspiously.

"Sorry Sensei." Naruto rubs the back of his head with an awkward smile before he looks back at Sasuke and winks.

Sasuke smirks and looks back at the presentation. However, before long he is glancing back at Naruto, watching his focused face, with his pouty lips and his eyebrows furrowed, he can't help but think the guy seems interesting and cute.

He wonders if maybe the two of them could somehow be friends but that's unlikely, not many people come near him or talk to him, and he also has to keep his drug use a secret and his illness, but this guy seems cool and it would be nice to have a friend, but that's impossible, no more than a fantasy.

He looks at Naruto one more time and goes back to thinking about going to Yu's house for more drugs, he's almost out and needs more.

When class ends Sasuke gets up and leaves the class room, heading to his locker to put away his textbooks.

Naruto stares after him, even in such a short encounter, he feels a weird pull. This Sasuke guy seemed really cool, and they have so many similar interests, he didn't even look disgusted by a guy liking to dance either. He really wants to befriend him, but he also needs to get to lunch and then his last class.

Naruto sits with Kiba and Chouji at lunch, enjoying a nice conversation as Sasuke skips lunch entirely and sits in the library to read.

When lunch ends they both go to their last class of the day and the time flies, Sasuke too high to focus on anything but his thoughts and Naruto more concerned with getting to the ballet room. As soon as the bell rings they are both practically running out, their minds occupied with their destinations.

Naruto would love to find Sasuke and talk with him but he really needs to get to the ballet room, he'll see Sasuke tomorrow anyway so he makes his choice to go to the ballet room because this need to finally free himself has been aching at him since before he left home.

As he makes his way in a hurry, he isn't paying attention to those around him, his heart racing with excitement as he gets closer and closer to where he wants to be, when suddenly he bumps into someone, knocking them down.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I wasn't payin' attention."

"No it's fine, no big deal, yo."

Naruto offers his hand and the other takes it and is soon back on his feet.

"Sasuke?"

He looks up and sees Naruto looking at him all worriedly.

"Oh hey, thanks for helpin' me up. Most people just walk the fuck away."

"Seriously? That's fucked up. I'm sorry I knocked ya over, man."

"Really, it's fine. No harm done."

Sasuke proceeds to brush off his clothes and then look up at Naruto.

"Where ya off to in a hurry anyway, dobe?"

Naruto blushes again before replying, starting his nervous figet of rubbing the back of his head, "I was goin' to the ballet room."

"Ah, I see. Cool, maybe you could show me some of your moves sometime."

What was he thinking? Why did he say that? He can't try to befriend fucks sake.

"Really?" Naruto laughs.

Sasuke looks up at Naruto and the sight makes his heart flutter again, a bright smiling Naruto looking down at him, he almost looks relieved and something else he can't seem to identify.

"Most people think it's weird for a guy to do that."

"Really? That's so fuckin' stupid. Forget what people say and just enjoy what ya enjoy."

Naruto stares at Sasuke in disbelief, how can someone so perfect fall right in his lap?

"Yeah, man. You right. Thanks for that. If I do show ya sometime, then ya gotta play that bass of yours for me one day too."

"No problem, yo. Oh, yeah, sure, I guess I could do that." Sasuke shrugs, "Well, I'll see ya around sometime, dobe." He starts to walk away but then feels a hand on his shoulder and turns back around.

Naruto looks at his hand in surprise, when did he become so forward? He looks at Sasuke again, there is something about him he likes, and he's so cute too. He can't just let him leave now.

"What do ya say we hang out sometime?"

Sasuke can't believe his ears, this guy actually wants to hang out with him? He should say no, there is no fucking way he is bringing someone into his life. Never, never, never, never.

"Sure, I'd like that. Maybe when ya get done, ya can come over for movies?"

"Yeah! Sounds rad, let's exchange numbers."

Sasuke curses himself as he types his number in Naruto's phone, and they depart.

He can't believe he did that, damn drugs.

But, maybe things won't be so bad.

Anyway, right now, he's on a quest, a quest for more drugs, and he's got to go to another bad part of town to get them.

So he presses on.

Naruto gets to the ballet room and when he notices he is the only one, he gets super excited.

Luckily for him, not many people actually use this room, most people can't wait to get home. But here, Naruto gets to be free.

He hurries to change and turns his speaker on, what song should he choose today?

Naruto skims through his MP3 and chooses You're Not Good Enough by Blood Orange.

As the beat starts to flow, Naruto begins his routine, letting loose as the lyrics pour from the speaker.

"Deep in the play
I see you as you're looking over
Friends in my way
You never could've been a good lover
What what you say
Could never mean a word and still hurt you
Look the other way
Please tell me that I'm wrong
So wrong."

When Sasuke left school he lit up a cigarette, and he kept cursing himself for actually giving Naruto his number, but there is something about him, maybe never really having friends has made it harder to socialize. To get his racing mind off the good-looking blond he just met, he goes straight to this house owned by this older guy who sells drugs.

He knocks on the door and Masayuki answers.

"Sup Sasuke, what can I get for ya today?" He says as he lets Sasuke in.

"Some k8s and some bars."

"No OC 60s today?"

"Not today, need more money for that."

Masayuki nods his head and goes to the other room, "How many of each ya want, yo?"

Sasuke gets his money out to count, "Um, forty k8's and forty bars."

"Damn, Sasuke, you seriously rackin' up, ain't ya?"

Sasuke snorts, "I got a job and I sell whatever I can and also ask my dad to borrow some from him, so I make do but it still ain't enough, yo."

"Most people who buy from me stay broke as fuck but you always seem to have money."

"Well, I ain't goin' without this shit, so I figure shit out."

"That ya do. Anyway, the price is 600, yo."

He is about to hand over his whole paycheck plus what else he has saved, maybe he needs a better job.

"I never was in love
You know that you were never good enough
Fall asleep right next to me
You know that you were never good enough."

Naruto smiles, sweat starting to fall from his face as he moves.

His heart beat racing, his limbs feeling loose and free. He jumps and spins in the air, landing back to the floor and sliding to the side.

The feel of the music and the beat of his own heart creating it's own rhythm and a happiness he so rarely feels.

He uses the whole room to move his body, the music playing loudly through his speaker, his smile never fading.

As he dances he thinks about Sasuke and how his heart skipped a beat when they started talking and how he actually asked to keep in touch, why did he do that? And yet, he couldn't stop thinking about how cute he looked, how handsome he looked when he smiled towards Naruto.

How his heart raced when he realized he held onto Sasuke too long, and how his heart races now with just the thought of him and how screwed he is when he realizes he is just some lonely guy with a fucked up life.

"Forty-nine days
Surely I should be feelin' whole lot better
Ways and ways
You keep on coming back
I keep letting you in."

"I never was in love
You know that you were never good enough
Fall asleep right next to me
You know that you were never good enough."

Sasuke paid Masayuki and had left his house, now heading home. His father wouldn't be home right now so he could go home and take these in peace.

Sasuke's hands started shaking as the anticipation was building with each step closer to home.

He does his best to keep his composure, so he doesn't appear anymore abnormal than he normally is in public, but he always feels like there is someone following him and watching him; as soon as he unlocks his front door and gets inside, he quickly runs upstairs, locking his door behind him for extra precaution.

He turns his speaker on and turns on his music, Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi starts to pour from the speakers.

Sasuke reaches inside his bottom drawer, underneath his clothes for his kit and a little box. It was a small rolling plate, straw, and credit card and the box held his weed, bowl and wraps. These drugs help him so much better than anything ever has, his father probably wouldn't care too much if he found out since he also has his own script and use to sell cocaine, heroin and guns when he was younger, he ended up spending two years in prison when his mother was pregnant with him, but he doesn't want to take any chances, hell, he was scared enough when his father found out about him smoking and even though his father wasn't upset and lets him do it and even buys him cigarettes, he's still scared about him finding out about the drugs.

They took away his anxiety and it made his days seem overall better, but it didn't take away his hallucinations and delusions and really most of everything, but he wasn't gonna think about that.

This was all he ever needed and ever will need, he'll deal with the symptoms somehow.

He went to his bed and pulled out the baggie of pills, he took out two Dilaudid and two Xanax bars and laid them on the rolling plate, and then he put the others in his pill bottle and then uses the pill bottle to crush up the pills still laying out, he then uses the card to form the powder into a couple of lines and uses the straw to snort them.

Sasuke lays the stuff next to him and pulls out a blunt to smoke as he lays back on his bed, sniffing and rubbing his nose.

He sings some of the song that plays, taking a few hits from the blunt, enjoying the feeling of euphoria. He blows the smoke out and watches it travel up and across his room, before closing his eyes and taking a big breath when he remembers that he invited Naruto over to his house.

He opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling and pictures Naruto, he can't let him find out this secret. This habit is for only him to know about.

Sasuke's heart races when he pictures Naruto's smiling face and how he liked the sound of his laugh. He hopes he can be friends with him, but Sasuke is so different from other people, will Naruto even like him?

"I never was in love
You that you were never good enough
Fall asleep right next to me
You knowthat you were never good enough."

"I never was in love
You know that you were never good enough
Fall asleep right next to me
You know that you were never good enough."

Naruto finishes his routine as the song closes.

He stares at himself in the mirror, will Sasuke actually want to be friends with him? He didn't react badly to Naruto's secret, instead he wanted to see. However, that's not his only secret, his home life is something he never wants anyone to find out about.

Plus, they just met, how do you even start a friendship?

And also, with Naruto's life, will he be accepted?

He blushes at the thought of Sasuke's smiling face.

"Shit." Naruto rubs his face and then looks back into the mirror at himself blushing at the thought of some guy he just met.

He shakes his head and goes to get dressed back into the clothes he came to school in, his father is probably not home, but he can't take no chances on him noticing anything.

Maybe when he gets home, he'll message Sasuke and see if he might want to actually meet up, he did say he could come over for movies but what if he just didn't know what to say to Naruto asking to hang out?

There is only one way to find out all the questions in his head.

"I never was in love
You know that you were never good enough
Fall asleep right next to me
You know that you were never good enough."

Sasuke scratches his nose; whenever he gets high his nose itches like crazy. He gets up and puts his stuff away back in his drawer and lays back on his bed, will Naruto actually text him and come over?

He looks towards his phone, wishing it would light up from a text from Naruto. But, he shouldn't get his hopes up. He hit the blunt kind of hard and is definitely feeling it now, hopefully it'll go down before Naruto gets here if he actually ends up coming.

He sighs as the next song begins to play Uh by Fujiya and Miyagi.

"Why the fuck am I hoping to talk to him again? I doubt he'd even like me. Hell, I don't even like humans anyway."

He rolls onto his side pouting as he stares at his phone.

After a few minutes pass, his phone beeps, Sasuke jumps and quickly reaches for it, seeing Naruto's name on his screen.

Sasuke's breath hitches as he clicks on the message.

"Hey Sasuke, I was just a wonderin if maybe you're still up for that movie? '."

Sasuke smiles, he actually texted him, he actually wants to hang out.

"Yeah, that sounds rad. I was thinkin of orderin a pizza too, come on over?" Sasuke quickly replies.

"Yeah, send me your address. :D"

After Sasuke sent Naruto his address he then lies on his back, staring at the ceiling and smiles. His heart beating so quickly, Sasuke thinks he may have a heart attack.

He gets up and looks around his room, making sure there is no evidence of his earlier actions still left around where Naruto could find it. He can't let Naruto know about his habit, if they are gonna be friends, then some of his secrets need to stay as secrets. He reaches in his pocket and pulls out his pill bottle and adds it in the drawer with the rest of the stuff, just to make sure. Then he takes an bottle of Febreeze and sprays his room down to get rid of the smell of weed.

He looks around his entire room over and over, making sure everything looks alright.

Is there really a friend out there who would accept even the lowest parts of him?

He doesn't know, he's never had anyone like that. But maybe Naruto could still be a good friend, even if he has to lie to him forever.

However, then he would be the one who wasn't a good friend. Either way, nobody can find out about this but these thoughts are driving him crazy, how bad will the guilt be lying to him everyday if they hit it off?

But as he lays there waiting, the butterflies become too much to bare, he stares wide-eyed at the ceiling with the realization that he's excited, not knowing what to do next.

xxx

Naruto smiles at his phone and then laughs loudly when he receives the address from Sasuke; he's really going to do this.

But it's not everyday that you just bump into someone who feels easy to be with and talk too, so Naruto doesn't want to let that feeling slip away, maybe it's not the sky cool people fall from but you literally bump into them or wind up sitting next to them. If that's the case, how many potential friends has he sat next to and never did anything about? Or, is friendship, true friendship a lot rarer than people let on?

When he thinks more about that, he's just happy that it was Sasuke he sat next to rather than someone else, he just has this feeling in his gut that this will work out, and he can't wait. Naruto's heart is beating rapidly, but he hurries outside and onto his bike to go meet the handsome guy he just happened to bump into at school.

He couldn't peddle faster as he makes his way to Sasuke. Turns out he doesn't live too far from Naruto anyway, they live in the same part of town, right outside of the city limits; right on the next street.

When Naruto gets there, he makes his way to the door and before he has a chance to knock, to think or even run away, Sasuke is already pulling open the door, both smile so wide at the sight of each other.

When they finally see each other again, it's like some strong force pulling at them, even though they are technically strangers, there is a familiarity there. A gravitational pull they can't fight against and the closer they get, the harder it is to pull away, and honestly, neither wants to fight it at this point.

Maybe they knew each other in a past life or something, maybe they were always meant to find each other and be friends, he's never believed in that kind of thing before, but he'll just have to find out if it could be true.

Sasuke invites Naruto in and leads him to his bedroom, when they get to the bedroom door, Naruto can hear music playing.

"Hey, I know this song! It's pretty good. It's Kid Cudi's Just What Am I, right?"

"Oh yeah, it is. How you know?" He says laughing, " Sorry, I was listenin' to music when I got home." He reaches over to turn it off.

"You could've kept it playin'. I didn't mind, I love music."

"I'll play some again in a bit for ya then."

Naruto smiles and nods.

"I haven't ordered the pizza yet either cause I wasn't sure what the fuck ya like." He says as he sits down on his bed and smiles up to Naruto.

Naruto laughs and sits down next to Sasuke, "That's okay, what do you usually get?"

"Thin crust philly cheesesteak pizza."

"Oh yeah? You had that answer ready to fuckin' go! That sounds really good though, haven't ate that as a pizza before." Naruto chuckles, "Let's get that."

Sasuke laughs and nods, "I'll place the order online. You wanna watch a movie or something?"

Naruto nods, "Shit yeah. Can I look through your DVDs?"

Sasuke nods and points towards his TV stand as he places the order on his phone.

Naruto gets up and goes to sit in the floor in front of the TV, glancing through many titles before he finally decides on one. He turns around to Sasuke and holds up the DVD to show him, "'Without a Paddle' good with ya?"

He smirks and nods, "That's one of my favorites. I use to watch it on repeat as a kid."

Naruto laughs, "I didn't know this was a kid's movie. I bet ya were an interestin' kid!"

Sasuke laughs along with Naruto, "Yeah, I was a fuckin' weirdo, still am. I can quote that movie from front to back."

He watches as Sasuke's face lights up, his bright smile causing butterflies to form in his stomach. So he isn't caught just staring he puts the DVD in and moves back to the bed.

While the commercials play through, Naruto looks around Sasuke's room, he seems to have good taste in decor and music from the posters hanging up; Def Leppard, Radiohead, Linkin Park, Faith No More and lots more, but one poster catches his attention, and he lights up.

"You like The XX?"

Sasuke turns towards him and nods, "Definitely, they are rad. You like 'em too?"

"Hell yes, they are totally awesome! I haven't met many people who even know them. What song would you say you like the best?"

Sasuke thinks for a moment before replying, "Prolly Shelter, Night Time or Angels. You?"

"All those are so good, definitely in my top list too. But Heart Skipped a Beat or Night Time for me. Even though the music is pretty chill, it's great to dance too." Naruto blushes but smiles.

Sasuke returns his smile, "Oh yeah, they are. I can't dance but it's hard not to move when I hear their music."

Naruto's smiles widens, "No kiddin'! It's the same for me. You'll have to tell me what other bands you like too. Other than what's obvious from the poster but what would ya say is your fav band?"

"Hm, if I had to choose one then I'd prolly go with Faith No More."

"Cool! I ain't real sure if I've heard them before or not, you'll have to show me some of their shit too." Naruto smiles.

Sasuke smiles before he nods, when he hears a car outside, he stands up to look through his window, "Pizza dude is here. I'll be right back."

"Alright."

Naruto looks around the room some more, he definitely has a more gothic, punk rock style but it seems him and Sasuke have more in common than he initially thought. He just might have made a friend after all.

Sasuke returns with the pizza and some drinks, he lays it on the bed before crawling back on himself. They both sit next to each other, leaning against Sasuke's wall since his bed sits on the floor. The bed is big enough for two people but as they sit next to each other, they sit closer than they may have actually needed too. Sasuke presses play, and they both grab a slice of the pizza and lean back, their legs out straight but right up against each other.

They laugh and discuss the movie and when they've eaten everything they could, the box had been set on the floor, and they both lie back onto the bed to relax, their bodies flush against each other.

Sasuke sniffs and scratches his nose almost violently and then yawns.

"Ya tired?" Naruto asks.

Sasuke turns to him a little puzzled, "No, I'm good. Are you?"

He shakes his head but smiles. He notices Sasuke's pupils are so wide and his eyelids are droopy, it catches him off guard, but he doesn't think too much of it.

What he does notice though is how much Sasuke scratches his nose and his body, but he decides not to comment on it. He just goes back to the movie and enjoying this time with his new-found friend.

When a certain scene starts to play, he hears Sasuke chime in and start quoting the lines.

"Hi there, coalminers daughter. You want a hand? Or you can always try these fancy new things called 'matches'. I saw how to do this on the Discovery Channel. Okay? And I'm gonna do it." Sasuke smiles as he acts out the scene.

Naruto laughs at how good Sasuke can actually quote the movie and a comfortable peace settles around them, it's like they've been friends for years rather than just a day. Something they both notice and take comfort in after the inital surprise settles down. Something neither has experienced before and that lingering excitement of a friend has smiles plastered to their faces.

The movie plays on with Sasuke quoting it and Naruto laughing.

"This part is so funny, Naruto. All fuckin' three of them half naked in the damn rain on that mountain, forced to cuddle for warmth." He laughs even talking about it, "Then Mountain Dude comes in and scares the fuck outta 'em."

Naruto watches him more and more throughout the movie, until he is watching Sasuke more than the movie itself.

By the time the movie ends, they are both leaning against the other laughing.

"Why don't you pick something else?" Sasuke barely has to turn to face Naruto, they are laying so close together.

Naruto's breath hitches when he realizes just how close they've gotten.

"Sure, I can do that." Naruto hesitates, he doesn't want to move, he really likes being this close to him, but he stands and goes back over towards the TV stand and searches for something else to watch.

He smiles when he spots a certain movie, another good comedy, turns out Sasuke has great taste. Naruto doesn't show him before he puts it in, wanting to see Sasuke's reaction. He jumps back on the bed and scoots closer to Sasuke again.

"What did ya choose, moron?"

"You'll see." Naruto smirks.

When the title screen comes on, Sasuke just laughs. Causing a warm and fuzzy feeling to hit Naruto.

"Wow, you bitch! For real though, The Hot Chick is great."

"Well ya have great taste, Sasuke. We seem to enjoy the same kinda things."

Sasuke turns his head a bit to look at Naruto, "I'm glad we do, never had anyone to enjoy anything with."

Then he yawns again.

He looks at Sasuke, both their heads on a single pillow and smiles, "Me too."

But he can't help wondering how someone who's not tired yawns so much, maybe it's just another cute thing about him.

After a moment of just looking at each other, Sasuke turns and presses play, his face a bit red.

"Just so ya know, I can quote this movie too."

Naruto sees a smirk form on Sasukes face, and he returns it, "So can I."

They both laugh, the atmosphere warm and welcoming.

"Boys are cheats and liars, they're such a big disgrace, they will tell you anything to get to second baseball, baseball; he thinks he's gonna score. If you let him go all the way they you are a whore-ticulturists studies flowers, Geologists studies rocks. The only thing a guy wants from you is a place to put his cock-roaches, beetles, butterflies and bugs. Nothing makes him happier than a giant pair of jug-glers and acrobat and dancing bears named Chuck. All guys really want to do is forget it, no such luck." They both laugh as they recite the lyrics to the girl's song word for word.

After quoting the movie for a while, they stopped to just watch it and fall into a nice comforting bliss.

Through the movie, Naruto doesn't know when or how, but they suddenly had the backs of their hands touching and their fingers interlaced loosely and Sasuke's head was resting slightly on Naruto's shoulder.

It's like an instant attraction, something he only ever heard about in movies or stories, not something he ever expected himself to experience or that it was something that was actually real. Something so strong and yet so free and with ease. How is it even possible to feel something like this so fast? His heart was pounding against his chest so hard he could swear Sasuke could hear it. It was so amazing, they just instantly clicked and with no force or awkwardness. They went from strangers, to friends to something Naruto didn't know how to describe in just under twenty-four hours and it was exhilarating, the butterflies in his stomach fluttered so much he thought he might really be able to fly.

Sasuke didn't know if the fast heart beat he's hearing is Naruto's or his own, he didn't know how this happened, how they end up holding hands and cuddling on Sasuke's bed. He hoped they would become friends, but he hadn't had high hopes in the beginning and now it seems to be something more, he couldn't put a name to it, but it was even better than drugs. Could it be possible to have a connection like this with someone? He didn't have the answer, but with as good as this feels, he doesn't care. He just doesn't want it to stop.

When the movie ended, neither wanted to move, but if they stayed like this long then they'd end up having to talk about it, and neither knew what to even say. So, Sasuke rose, "Ya said ya wanted to know what bands I like, right? Why don't I turn my playlist on?"

Naruto smiles, "That would be rad."

Sasuke turns to look at Naruto and smiles before getting up, he plugs his MP3 into his speaker and searches for the first song he should play, then he scratches his nose again, his nose is now a bright shade of pink.

Naruto laughs internally at these cute little habits he has, not understanding these small signs that point to something he would never be prepared for in the end.

Sasuke decides to show Naruto Faith No More first and clicks on the song Falling To Pieces, "This is Fallin' To Pieces by Faith No More so ya could hear how fuckin' awesome this band is."

Naruto listens and nods his head to the beat, "Wow, this sounds fuckin' awesome, can't believe I haven't heard 'em before."

"Well, ya get to hear 'em now and enjoy, it ain't ever too late to find more great music." Sasuke says from his place at the foot of the bed.

"Yeah, you're right about that."

"You mind if I light up a cigarette?"

Naruto shakes his head, "Nah man, go ahead."

Sasuke pulls out his cigarette pack from his pocket, Maverick Menthol Light One-hundreds and lights one, he leans over Naruto to grab his ashtray and sits back down.

He clicks on another Faith No More song, Epic, "This is another good song, after this I'll play Evidence and Easy by them."

Naruto nods as he listens to great music from a band he hasn't heard before, he can see why this is Sasuke's favorite band.

After the other songs Sasuke hits another, Change by Blind Melon and lays back on the bed next Naruto.

"Nice choice, Sasuke. This is a such good song and this band totally rocks."

They both stare at the ceiling while the song plays, both having similar thoughts about each other, how they get along so well and enjoy the same movies and music but also how good-looking the other is, they never imagined this would be something they would ever find.

But as the song goes on, their hands move closer and closer until their fingers are once again interlocked, they both smile at nothing in particular.

The next song begins to play, Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls.

Naruto chuckles, "It seems like ya have good music choices too. Ya haven't chose a song that I don't like."

Sasuke's smile widens, "Course, it's me we're talkin' 'bout."

They both laugh and their fingers tighten around each other.

"Play another song."

Sasuke lifts his MP3 above his face and clicks the next button and Breaking The Habit by Linkin Park starts to play.

"Oooo, Linkin Park is so good."

"I don't think they've ever made a song that I don't like. I have to say that Given Up is prolly my favorite though."

"Oh yeah, that's a good song. Can I see your MP3, I wanna take a look through it."

Sasuke hands Naruto his MP3 and watches his reaction at the songs he is going through, he is making interesting faces when he sees bands he likes, causing Sasuke to smile happily.

"Oh shit, I haven't heard this song in forever, I totally forgot about it." Naruto clicks it and Wait For You by Elliott Yamin starts to play.

Sasuke laughs and then there is a long-drawn-out yawn before he speaks, "Yeah, it's been a while since I last listened to it too. I like a range of genres."

"Hey, nothin' wrong with that, I like so many different genres myself that people get annoyed with me." Naruto says without taking his eyes off the MP3.

Naruto clicks on another one, "I haven't heard this one before."

End of The Line by Gareth Johnson pours from the speakers.

"I love this song." Sasuke replies staring at Naruto.

"Wow, it sounds so good. I really like this." He turns to look at Sasuke, who is so close he can feel his breath against his neck.

They stare at each other for a while before Sasuke speaks up, "Ya know, I'm really happy ya bumped into me."

Naruto smiles, "Me too, Sasuke. I'm just glad I didn't hurt ya though. But, I never met anyone like you before."

"Yeah, me too. I never thought there would be someone on this planet that I would connect with so easily. Bein' around people, talkin' to people is normally so hard for me and I usually don't like it anyway. With you though, everything feel so easy. Kinda like a strange attractor in math."

"Yeah, no kiddin'. Ya are really special, ya know."

Sasuke blushes and averts his eyes.

"Ya know, Sasuke, ya look really cute when ya blush and get all shy."

Sasuke breathes in sharply and looks back towards Naruto, after a brief pause he says, "Bitch."

Naruto laughs.

The next song starts to play, Push by Matchbox Twenty.

"I really like ya." Sasuke replies shyly.

"Ya ain't the only one then, I like ya too. I've never felt anything like this before."

They both move their hands to they can intertwine their fingers properly, laying so close that their breaths mingle, they can even feel the pounding of their heartbeats in their hands.

"Ya know, Naruto, I'ma pretty weird dude."

Naruto chuckles, "Why do ya say that?"

"Cause I'm havin' very cheesy Twilight references running through my mind right now."

Naruto starts to laugh so hard tears fall from his eyes.

"It was like love at first site, but neither of us knew what to call it. We continued to lay there and listen to the music on his MP3 the rest of the day before I had to leave to go home."

Boruto sat there silently listening, somehow some of his anger dissipated little by little. He didn't know what to say, the story sounds like a fairy tale and yet there is a tragic ending, and he can feel part of his own heart break for his father.

He didn't know anything about his father's past, he never talked about it and Boruto never asked. He thinks about his own wife and how they met and fell in love, if something had happened to her, he doesn't know what he would've done or if he could've moved on either, you don't just find that kind of love anywhere.

Maybe the alcohol wasn't such a good idea, because now he feels sort of depressed or hell, maybe it's his father's story, who the hell knows.

Boruto looks at his father who seems to be lost in the memories he was just telling him about. He knows one thing though, he wants to hear the rest of the story. He needs too.

"Hey dad, I know it's late now but do ya think tomorrow ya could tell me more of that story?"

Naruto turns to him surprised and then for the first time in a long time, he gives a genuine smile, "Yeah son, I'd like too."

"Dad?"

"Yeah?"

"Do ya think before we go to bed, that ya could show me those songs y'all listened to that day?"

Naruto chuckles, "Yeah, yeah, I think I can do that."

So? How was that? I hope y'all are as excited for the next chapters as I am to publish them! Chapter 3 is just a bit shorter but not by much but chapter 4 has close to 20,000 words so some upcoming smut for y'all ;3 I'll get the others posted as soon as possible so y'all ain't gotta way too much longer, loves! But how did y'all like the story? It's only gonna get deeper and deeper! This is the largest most intricate story I've every worked on but I really love it. This story is close to my heart for many reasons, I like to touch on the more serious topics but a lot of the stuff I wrote about I've had to experience myself but I'm interested in y'alls thoughts too :3

Also, I hope y'all enjoy the music I pick for these chapters, I always listen to music when I write and I love to have my characters be into music like myself so y'all should really check these songs out, they are fucking amazing! But anyway, enjoy and lemme know what you think so far and I'll get the other chapters posted soon. It's gonna be a long story. ^^
