Erin's POV

"The blimp is a nice touch and all, but I'm ready to stop schmoozing and start dueling," Mai told Yami and I.

"Well I wish you luck Mai," Yami told the gorgeous blonde.

"Same here in all honesty I wouldn't mind dueling you in the semi-final round" I added.

Everyone was taking advantage of the food Kaiba had out. Joey had his plate piled up which wasn't a surprise. Zane was talking with Tea and Serenity. Namu was minding his own business and Ryou was just putting food onto his plate.

"Girlfriend if I face you no doubt I'll lose to that deck of yours"

"The Valyrian Deck may be strong but it's not invincible"

My remark made Mai and Yami chuckle. My attention then went to Kaiba who was next to Mokuba. At the moment he wore his usual scowl and his arms were crossed.

"Admiring the view sis?"

I growled as Zane wrapped a playful arm around my shoulders.

"Zip it bro" I mumbled feeling my face turn red.

"Erin you okay? Your flushed a bit"

Yami felt my forehead to see if I had a temperature.

"She's fine it's just"

Immediately I slapped my hands over Zane's mouth and shot him a death glare. Mai was confused as was Yami. Zane protested from underneath my hand and I eventually moved my hands away from his mouth. Joey was holding back a laugh and I mentally swore when I saw Kaiba was smirking.

"Is everything okay over here?" Ryou came on over.

"Yeah my idiot brother was just about to say something stupid"

"No, I wasn't" Zane growled. My elder sibling then suddenly tensed and it was due to the Spirit of the Millennium Ring being so close.

I placed a hand on top of Zane's and he squeezed it letting me know I was safe. I then noticed Ryou's arm.

"What happened to your arm?"

"Nothing serious, Namu found me and suggested I go to the hospital to be on the safe side"

"Well I hope it feels better soon"

I meant what I said. Just because the Spirit of the Millennium Ring was present didn't mean I didn't like Ryou. Roland then got our attention as the lights in the room dimmed and a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon machine was revealed. Roland then explained how the semi-finals would work. Each duelist had a number and whoever's number was selected would duel the other.

My number was 10 while Zane's was 9. The machine became activated and the selection for the first duel began. And the first duel was number 6 and that duelist was Ryou.

"Me? I duel first?" Ryou asked pretending to be surprised.

Immediately I knew the Spirit of the Millennium Ring was behind the dialogue. While Ryou laughed nervously the others voiced their concern about Ryou needing rest. My attention then went back to the bingo machine and we all waited again to see who would be Ryou's opponent.

"Bakura's opponent is number 10, Erin Randall!"

Shit! I thought. I hadn't been expecting that!

Zane placed a hand onto my shoulder and I looked at him. He gave me a wink before letting me go.

"Well Erin it looks like we duel each other" Ryou told me as Roland instructed us to follow him.

"Wait a minute Roland" Kaiba interrupted his employee. "Let me borrow Erin for a minute"

What does Kaiba want? I wondered.

"Of course sir"

Ryou frowned as I followed Kaiba away from him and Roland. Once we were alone Kaiba got to the point.

"You looked rattled when you were chosen as Bakura's opponent, he didn't hurt you prior to the finals did he?"

The President of Kaiba Corp's tone was genuine as well as one with concern.

"No he hasn't"

"Alright and good luck Kitsune"

Immediately my face went red and Kaiba chuckled before walking away. I met up with Roland and Ryou in the elevator and it took us the top of the blimp.

"I welcome you to the Stratos Dueling arena"

Ryou didn't say anything as he walked past Roland and I thanked him before climbing up the steps onto the arena. As Ryou went to his spot the others arrived. Zane stood beside Yami and we shared a quick glance. My brother gave me another wink just as Kaiba and Mokuba stopped on the opposite side of the arena. Kaiba was back in no bullshit mode.

"Alright I'll make this quick so we can begin this duel, Kaiba Craft 3 is cruising at an altitude of four-thousand feet, the strong winds and cold air will test your strength and stamina if you can't handle it you don't belong here"

I'm half Nine-Tailed Fox the cold doesn't bother me I thought.

And right on cue the familiar voice of the Spirit of the Millennium Ring spoke to me.

"Hello again my love" he greeted. I watched as the Millennium Ring appeared around my opponents neck. And shivers went down my spine as the Spirit of the Millennium Ring looked at me with his evil smirk. His hair was spikier as his tone was different. "I was hoping we would face one another"

"Zip it Spikey! Be glad I wasn't there when you ambushed my sister!" Zane roared.

If Ryou was the host then I was going to refer to the Spirit of the Millennium Ring as Bakura. Bakura chuckled darkly and not gonna lie it was hot.

"I'm afraid this will be your last duel my Moonlight" Bakura crooned.

"We haven't even started said duel and already your claiming you'll win? News flash don't let your overconfidence be your downfall" I advised Bakura.

Joey and Tristan whooped at that remark.

"That fire still lives in you my love and I've missed it"

Shit now that had me blushing. But I quickly regained my composure and activated my duel disk at the same time Bakura did with his. The arena lit up and it was time to duel. Bakura went first and summoned Portrait's Secret in attack mode.

Why play a weak monster? I wondered. But Bakura wasn't stupid so it was obvious he was up to something.

"I think I'm gonna start this duel off the right way, come out Silverwing!"

My silver dragoness came to life and smoked emitted from her snout.

Kaiba's POV

"Wow that's a beautiful dragon" Mokuba said his eyes not leaving Silverwing.

"It is" I agreed before looking to Erin.

I didn't like it when Bakura flirted with Erin and why I felt that way was beyond me. Oh who was I kidding?

I was attracted to Erin Randall and was jealous whenever someone other idiot hit on her. Looks like Mokuba was right after all.

Erin's POV

"Silverwing attack that ugly painting! Dracarys!"

With a mighty roar Silverwing opened her mouth and destroyed Portrait's Secret with her dragon fire. I ended my turn with two cards face down. Bakura's smirk widened and he brought out an even uglier monster. Gross Ghost of Fled Dreams.

Joey voiced his opinion on my opponent's monster and it made me laugh.

"My ghost is a hell of a lot prettier than yours" I taunted Bakura before summoning Ghost the Direwolf.

"If you say so my Moonlight attack me if you so wish"

I commanded Ghost to take out Gross Ghost of Fled Dreams and the wolf obeyed my command. Then Silverwing attacked Bakura directly making his life points to go down even more.

"Kick his ass Erin!" Joey shouted.

"Watch your mouth dude" I heard Duke tell Joey. "Crush this guy Erin!"

The others shouted encouragement and I glanced at Kaiba for a minute. He wore a pleased smirk and that lifted my spirits up.

"Alright my love perhaps I made things easy for you but not anymore"

"I don't fear your deck and news flash I'm not your girlfriend"

"You say that now my Moonlight but in time you will remember our past life"

Bakura played his next monster and the field on his end emitted purple smoke. Bakura laughed as Headless Knight came out from it's evil cloak. But instead of being afraid I only laughed which confused Bakura.

"The Headless Horseman scares me even more than your knight, too bad it's going to be slain by my next beast"

Bakura didn't like that and I didn't give a damn. Caraxes's familiar screech filled the air and soon the Blood Wyrm was next to me. As Caraxes roared I saw Joey, Tristan, and Duke jump.

"Caraxes get rid of that disgrace of a monster! Dracarys!"

Headless Knight went up in flames and Ghost attacked Bakura directly. He was now on his life remaining life points and if he didn't turn this duel around he was going to lose.

"Well done my Moonlight I needed three monsters destroyed in order to bring out my dark destructor"

With an evil chuckle a monster by the name of Dark Necrofear was played. She was a pretty cool looking not gonna lie.

"Dark Necrofear is one of the most destructive cards in my deck keep that in mind my love" Bakura purred before placing two cards face down and ended his turn.

There's a reason why he isn't attacking me I thought. Best be on my guard

I then chose to reveal one of face downs and it was Valyrian Steel. Caraxes's attack points went up by 700 and he was strong enough to destroy Dark Necrofear. Caraxes obeyed my command and destroyed Dark Necrofear in a whirlwind of flames. Bakura then chuckled darkly.

"You've done exactly what I wished my Moonlight with Dark Necrofear in the graveyard I can play one of my cards"

Bakura played the magic card and it was called Dark Sanctuary. Immediately the field turned into an eerie mist and multiple eyes and fanged mouths hovered in the air. Joey and Serenity clung to each other while I heard Zane this was f**ked up.

"As you can see the entire playing field is engulfed in dark magic, you have no idea what I've unleashed"

He then laughed.

"Attack me if you dare my love"

With a growl I made my draw before summoning Dreamfyre in defense mode.

"Silverwing!"

The silvery dragoness roared before attacking Bakura.

"Dark Ghost counter-attack!"

"The hell?!" I protested as a creepy ghost shot through Silverwing and it hit me.

"Your precious Silverwing was possessed by the evil ghost of Dark Sanctuary and now half of her attack points are added to my life points!"

He then laughed. And if I didn't turn things around I would lose and not keep my promise to Kaiba. And I sure as hell wasn't going to let that happen because I intended to duel Kaiba and that was a fact.
