Chen Lung snapped his eyes open and looked over his clock. It was only six pm. The blue dragon wasn't active during daytime and was nocturnal to keep hidden from humans aside from his master. As he crawled out of bed he stretched and flexed his muscles. The dragon then dropped to the floor and did several dozen pushups and sit ups each. After finishing his exercises he put his pants on and walked over to his nightstand. Chen took the scroll from his drawer and walked out of his room.

The azure dragon walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. The hot steamy water sprinkled all over Chen's blue scales as he closed his eyes, focusing his thoughts on the day ahead. After his shower and brushing his teeth, Chen left his lair and went upstairs to his master's restaurant and apartment to have supper and tea with him before he starts his daily training.

Lei was preparing some herbal tea and noodles in his kitchen when Chen Lung walked in. Lei's restaurant was not set to open until another hour.

"How was your night, my pupil?" Asked Lei.

"It was pleasant, sifu. I am eager to began training after I've eaten." Replied Chen.

"I see. Please sit. I have just prepared our meals." Said Lei.

Chen sat down as Lei delivered the noodles and tea to the kitchen table. The ice dragon softly blew frost breath on his noodles and tea, slightly cooling them. They ate quietly for a few minutes until Chen broke the silence and took the blue scroll out and put it on the table.

"Master, I was hoping you will take a look at this scroll I retrieved before I return to my lair and begin my training." Said Chen.

"Very well. After we finish eating." Replied Lei.

After student and teacher finished eating, the azure dragon offered to wash the dishes, to which the sifu appreciated and accepted. The master picked up the scroll and read its contents. It was written in Chinese symbols and diagrams of warriors and creatures manipulating water.

"The Way of Water. The element of life. To master water is to become like water. To empty your mind, to be formless, shapeless, like the element itself." Lei read out loud with Chen at his side.

"Interesting, the power to magically bend water to my will." Said Chen.

"Only when your mind is calm and free flowing, my student." Replied Lei. "And for your information, water is also the most common element of the dragon, so as long as you empty your mind, and let your emotions flow like water, you will be able to master it."

"I will keep that in mind, master." Said Chen, taking the scroll back.

"Now if you would excuse me, I must get ready for work." Said Lei.

"Of course. I will leave at once." Chen said as he place his fist into his palm and bowed to him before walking downstairs to retreat to his lair.

As soon as Chen entered his lair. He immediately went to his training room and started practicing his Wing Chun on one of his wooden dummies. After performing many lightning fast attacks for several minutes he went to his three heavy punching bag and practiced on them systematically for ten minutes. He then practiced his Kung fu moves on a large open space in the training area for twenty minutes, executing every technique with precision and grace. After that the azure dragon was sweating heavily. But he was not done yet.

Chen Lung grabbed a bottle of water from a nearby closet, opened it, drank a portion and sat on the matted floor in a lotus position and took out the blue scroll and unraveled it.

"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water." Chen read.

The blue dragon then put the opened water bottle down in front of him and put aside the scroll. Chen closed his eyes and raised his hand towards the bottle, trying to pull out a sphere of water from it. He concentrated hard, attempting to calm his mind. A small amount of water was slowly rising to the tip of the bottle. But he began to see flashes of his father, and his death. Chen eventually lost his concentration and the water fell back down. The dragon grunted in frustration. Chen got up and picked up the bottle and scroll and put them away. He then immediately walked towards the bathroom to shower. He lowered his head as the hot water ran down his blue scales, deep in thought.

"It will take a while to have the ability to control water. But every time I try to even meditate, I see my fathers demise. My mind must be at peace if I am to even start the basics of water magic. I got till a couple hours before I go to streets and rooftops to hunt down more Triad members. I must rest while I can." Thought Chen.

Meanwhile, in the lair of the Ninja Turtles, the four brothers were doing some training of their own. In an open space, the turtles were standing before their sensei, Splinter, ready to do perform a series of moves.

"Good. Now, shuto!" Splintered ordered.

"Kiai!" Shouted the turtles as they take their stance.

"Backfist strike!" Commanded Splinter.

The turtles performed the technique.

"Front snap kick!" Splinter barked.

The turtles demonstrated the move.

"Upper rising block!" Splintered ordered.

The brothers performed the move.

"Double kick counter!" The sensei commanded.

The students executed the moves flawlessly.

"Again!" Barked Splinter.

The brothers repeated the move.

"And finish!" Splinter announced slamming his walking stick to the ground.

The turtles bowed to their master and immediately collapsed from exhaustion.

"Training is finished for today. We will resume in the morning." Said Splinter as he retreated to his quarters.

"Well guys we have a couple hours before we go on patrol and find this vigilante in Chinatown, so rest while you can." Leo said as he got off the ground.

"You don't have to tell me twice." Replied Mikey as he went to a couch and began reading comics.

Donatello went to his lab to tinker with gadgets, while Raphael decided to lift weights. Leonardo meanwhile has decided to retreat to his room and meditate. As the blue masked turtle sat on the ground in a lotus position to meditate, he could not get his mind off this new vigilante.

"I hope this new vigilante is a friend, and that we find him tonight. Crime has been on the rise lately since the Triads moved to New York. And I hope we can use his help."

So this scroll was about water magic? Awesome! Yet you have to have a calm and empty mind to use it.

Fun fact. The words "be formless, shapeless like water" was taken from Bruce Lee's own words. Guy's a legend.
