Prompt: "I don't give a damn."
"You give so many damns they're visible from space."
It had been the makings of a very fun night right up until HE had shown up. Jacoba and Lacey had gone out to a bar (with Lee in tow) and both ladies were in the mood to just drink and relax. Lee and Lacey had just started on their second drinks (Jacoba had offered to be the designated driver) when Gunnar had walked in and gone up to the bar. He didn't even notice them as he crossed the room, but that was because Jacoba was the only one facing the door and they were in one of the very back booths.
In fact, Lee and Lacey hadn't even noticed that he had come in until Jacoba had gotten really quiet. Lee was the first to turn and see the Swede up at the bar, flirting with a young (and scantily dressed) woman up there. Rolling his eyes, the Brit turned back around and nudged his girlfriend so that she looked as well.
It was Lacey who finally decided to speak up. "You know, Jacoba, if it bothers you that much then you should go and say something."
"To whom, about what?"
Lacey rolled her eyes at her friend whose eyes had yet to leave where they were boring holes into the Swede's back. "Gunnar, about him flirting with someone who isn't you."
Jacoba's grip on the empty glass in front of her tightened momentarily, causing little microfractures to appear on the outside. "I don't give a damn if he flirts with anyone."
Lee scoffed, which caused Jacoba's gaze to finally leave Gunnar as she gave the Brit a questioning look. "Amazon, you give so many damns that they're visible from space. And if you don't believe men, maybe you should take a look at your glass and possibly let it go before you actually bust it."
Jacoba's eyes widened as she looked down at the glass in her hand and winced a bit upon seeing the microfractures. "I should probably go get a new glass, huh?"
She didn't even wait for an answer before she was up and headed towards the bar, her purse clutched to her side. Lee and Lacey shared a look before rolling their eyes and turning towards the bar to watch. To their surprise, Jacoba didn't even look in Gunnar's direction (even though he did do a double take when he saw her and couldn't stop staring); instead, she gave the bartender a smile and began to flirt with him as he got her a new drink. Lee began to chuckle as Lacey shook her head. Those two were just a recipe for disaster at the moment. And Lee and Lacey were just going to watch them crash.
